I think there is something to playing a weak schedule so you are healthy to play in a bowl game. That is why I feel the Boise States of the world never have a justified reason to be in the BCS until they play in a real league. Playing one good team a year does not suffice. |

Seth exceptional write-up that educated the readers. In fact I saved it to compare the team later in the year. This is the kind of writing that has been missing since football season and I think you answered the critics with this informative piece. Great job and I look forward to more. |

What are those two machines in the background during the interviews? Anyone know? |

I got to hear, Hoke's interview, but couldn't sit in the car for 2 more hours to hear the rest. Thank you for sharing! |

I know the college station 91 on XM was on campus for 3 hours yesterday doing interviews. Was anyone able to record it, so we can share it with the rest of the blogsphere? |

I either deleted or didn’t receive the Survey to complete for kickstart. So how can we fill the survey out without the email? |
| 1 year 5 weeks ago | Novak |
Novak to me is the only no brainer. He is what Mike Hart was to football on the basketball court. I liked Manny and at least I could say he won some must win games, and played well in others, but at the end of the day I feel you need to be the reason for your team's success, and Manny was just successful, and due to that at times his team was successful, but I never felt it was the other way around. The good news is with Beilien around we'll have more players to celebrate in years to come, but at this time, only 1 should get in. |

Your copying my pic dude. Got seniority here. |
| 1 year 11 weeks ago | Where he at |
Other then that assist mentioned above he has been non-existent in this game. Really hard to tell his ball handling skills because he isn't the one running the point for Findlay. Looks like the 4th or 5th guy on a highschool team and they haven't looked for him once on the offensive end. Not sure how he is as highly rated as he is. Anyone know? |

Had to ask the wife for her signin and password to facebook to vote myself. I'm with you, this facebook mumbo jumbo is just a passing phase worth a Billion dollars. Here today, gone tomorrow. |

Exact way I voted too. |
| 1 year 14 weeks ago | Rivals vs. Scout |
I'm a Rivals guy also, so I appreciated you using those numbers, but the time honored debate is if one of the services is better than the other. It may be interesting to compare specifically the 3 categories that came out negligible - tackle, weakside d-end and outside linebacker and see if Scout is indeed better when it comes to evaluating the talent. |

| 1 year 27 weeks ago | Good Rule |
Not only a good analogy, a good rule. My dad did it with me, and I've passed along that rule to my children. It is the Papa's responsibility to protect our house, and as long as the rule is clearly stated up front, I don't think it is hypocritical for Hoke and team. From my readings they are real clear with the kids when they commit, and many times will ask the players to wait until they are certain to avoid any confusion or 2nd guessing. |

It came down to two camo hats - Michigan and Tennessee |
| 1 year 41 weeks ago | Where was Roh |
I think my disappointment of the day was the lack of pressure from a 4 man front. I expected Craig Roh to eat OTs from a school like WMU and he was no where to be seen, causing Mattison to show some of the ammo that I'm sure he wanted to wait to unveil under the lights. I look forward to reading Brian's play by play breakdown later this week to see how the DL rates out but from my live watch Craig was MIA (come on Brian you only have 3 Qtrs this should be done already :). That said Hoke and Mattison have talked about having bullets in the gun and some of those Blitz packages and fake blitz packages were amazing and just great coaching. I found the most humorous thing that could be said on the day is "same old MI," only for a different reason. I thought man ball was supposed to keep the Def off the field. Well not if the Def is part of your balanced offense. Good problem to have. Final thought is about starters on Special Teams. I don't have a solution on this because of depth, but Special teams is the most likely time of the game to have injuries and with our lack of depth at some positions and the practice time this takes starters away from in game planning I'm not a fan. Good start to a season. Can't wait to eat Irish for dinner next weekend. Go Blue! |

I wanted AB, but not because we can't get a similar caliber WR, but to block MSU from getting a quality recruit. The great thing about us taking over Michigan recruiting and making inroads to Ohio, is that we are not only getting quality recruits, but taking players off of MSU and OSU's roster. Rich Rod might have gotten comparable talent, but they came from areas that didn't weaken our rivals. Losing AB is not the same as Kyle Kalis leaving OSU however. With KK we took a great OL from OSU, that they are not going to be able to replace, and so that is a big win twice over. Losing AB means MSU got a great WR (potentially if he ever qualifies), but it doesn't mean we won't be able to replace him with the same caliber of WR, it just means we'll both be carrying an equal player. I like when you not only win, but it steals the ability of the other team to be competitive. |
| 1 year 47 weeks ago | Passing... |
With every trip that has been canceled or moved I've had an uneasy feeling. I think the timing on this may have passed. Also of note in that article is How Alabama is pushing for Terry Richardson. His recruitment is looking long from over. |
| 1 year 48 weeks ago | Did you add the dreadlocks for Denard? |
Easiest way to do it is to change his skin to Med and then face 4. |
| 1 year 48 weeks ago | Thank you |
Appreciate all your work on this and look forward to playing some time. As to the concern about too many gamer posts. What else are we supposed to do in July/Aug then watch Big Ten Greatest Games in the PIP and play NCAA 2012? To me NCAA 2012 is the start of football season and the final two months of off season are almost bearable. Go Blue and go Denard rushing for 199 and throwing for 230 yards in my first game of the season. |
| 1 year 50 weeks ago | Nebraska Friend |
I love Nebraska. For years I have felt that their fans match us better than anyone else, minus whoever is hacking/cheating us in the ESPN poll. The Irish are too high and mighty, TX is a bunch of prima donnas, Pitt and Rutgers aren't all around good matches, MO doesn't belong in the conversation, but Nebraska represents that same values that have made MI and we hold dear. They just flat out love their team and want a program that reflects the best of what America is, hard working folks that strive to get ahead, but strive with integrity. You will all get a kick to hear of how my buddy is spending today at his NE call center. He runs a very professional banking call center mind you, but they are all dressed in Husker jerseys, banners are up welcoming the team to the Big Ten, and will host a celebratory BBQ to commemorate today's move. Talked to him for 30 mins yesterday and he was bubbling about being part of the Big Ten, seeing if NE has what it takes to compete in a conference that has no give me games, and if their QB can find his bearings to make a push for a Championship game their first year in. Time will tell, but I think this is a great fit for our league, and makes sure that the Big Ten continues to be the leaders and best. |
| 2 years 7 weeks ago | Not fast enough... |
Doesn't sound like the issue was he wasn't fast enough to play DB at Michigan. Sounds like the problem was that he wasn't Maize and Blue enough to play DB at Michigan. This relfects one of the big positives that Hoke is building. We aren't building a program around coaches or personalities anymore that players like or dislike. We are back to building recruiting around the traditions of Michigan. Go Blue. |
| 2 years 15 weeks ago | Right man for the Job |
Diaz is a great hire, and something FL needed to keep rolling, however to your point, we got the best man for the job. Would I prefer he was 10 yrs younger? Absolutely, but his love for Michigan, his desire to recruit, and his track record of high performing defenses is just what the Doctor ordered. |
| 2 years 17 weeks ago | Where did USC come from? |
First Lattimore and now Clowney. Both are from South Carolina, but I still don't get it. USC has never been good, and Steve Spurrier a cautionary tale for 10 years, and now they are back, or have arrived rather. Good for them, but talk about coming out of nowhere. One more closing thought. I can't help but notice though that, while USC was considered one of the younger teams in the SEC last year, they still amazingly have enough room for 32 recruits. Wow! |
