I'm just not following the OP here, lol. You're implying that people who frequent this board (ie students, people on work breaks, or people who come home from work and check it out in the evenings), have some kind of valuable commentary on national HS football recruits and current conference/national offensive and defensive schemes? Like the people who come here and look at Rivals or look at film from games last year in their free time have more ability to dissect that information than the people who were hired (for millions of dollars) to do that full time, year round, and have been doing it exclusively for decades?
Does not compute.

2015, right? And it's.... July of 2013? I'm not worried about who his #1 is right now. "There is time" is an understatement and this staff has everything in the world going for it.
Moving on for now.

The new divisions take hold in 2014 and all teams were set up from thereon out, but everything until 2014 was left to play out as it has already been scheduled. They came to AA last year and we just happened to be going to EL this year so this is how the 2013/2014 years happened to play out.

Same. He literally explained what a football field is. To take that personally or as some kind of swipe is weird.

I think that we're one of very few fanbases in college football that could pull something like that off.
|1 year 49 weeks ago||Really? I think I would||
Really? I think I would agree if they were just rectangle-shaped and flat in front, but I think the way they are angled makes them look great. The bricking around the outside looks better than I thought it would and I think the (angled) boxes are a great way to "close in" the stadium when you see it from inside.

I think I understood both arguments back then so I was kind of conflicted. I appreciated the tradition but I like new, flashy things too. I had confidence that IF the administration decided to build it, it would look great and I think it turned out absolutely great.

Little early for that kind of coverage, no? It's one thing for an OSU fan site or a UM fan site to discuss it but they'd be really, really liable putting stuff like that over the airwaves. Not too many people are awake and drooling for that kind of coverage at 11pm, either. And if a news conference is coming so early tomorrow morning then just wait until it's either confirmed or tease it with the early morning show because now you have a meeting confirmed by the school and that's better to report than jumping right to "this happened and involved these people".
I can't fault them for covering their own behind so far.

Lemme say it like this:
1) Yes, you clearly do mean to pile on, OP. That's why you started a new thread about this.
2) I'm not sure what "even NYT" means exactly. They haven't defended him, have they? They aren't really loyal to him, are they? So I don't know why any more weight than usual is put into their opinion than anyone elses.
3) I'm just a grumpy coot tired of parroting this topic. We all know it. We all knew it before he was hired at OSU.
4) "you're", not "your".

HS performances, even films of years or entire HS careers, can be pretty subjective. Remember you're seeing highlights, not every snap of every game. You have to keep a lot of things in mind like the level of competition and the position as used by that coach and team (ie blocking schemes and offensive/defensive sets. Drawing the line between grooming for their college desire vs "you're a body and I want you to stand there and rush the QB every play" types of coaching).

|2 years 2 days ago||I'm confused by the OSU and||
I'm confused by the OSU and Nebraska picks. Is he alleging they play in the B1G Title game, Nebraska loses, but still gets picked to a BCS game?
Not sure what to think because that makes the most sense but we've seen previous game losers get bumped down a bowl or two for losing, so I'm just wondering what justifies picking current or future shortcomers into BCS games when it hasn't happened before. Usually #3 steps into that role, right? If that's the case, then who does he have playing OSU in the B1G Title game or did he not pick it? I don't want to laugh at Staee getting shafted by life again before I have the facts.

I imagine nothing but good things. Maybe not an active, amazingly social relationship, but I'd expect most players to feel comfortable if they ever wanted to call or reach back out to them.

|2 years 6 days ago||Dude. You asked about how to||
Dude. You asked about how to find them cheaper ("in that $95 range") and someone said you're not finding them cheaper. Your question is essentially what is on the mind of every single UM football fan in the world. The school is trying to match what the secondary market does and the secondary market is doing what they do because of demand. A staple game, demand is always up, prices will always be high. Personally, I think it is silly to assume you could get them through either school because those are the highest of high demands and the schools aren't interested in "only" getting $95 for them anymore.
Sucks but that's just how sports are nowadays. The internet and the streets of AA will be full of people looking for the best deal possible.

Stories like this make me feel conflicted. On the one hand, it seems clear the kid has been paid. On the other hand, he's a relative nobody (localized college interest. Highly rated, yes, but he is not a Dashawn Hand or Terrelle Pryor type recruit) so it's like, the idea that soooooo many other kids could be getting better benefits, across the nation, every year, and they're alllll doing such a good job of keeping their mouths shut about it.. I just don't buy it. It's stunning how kids can be so stupid yet allegedly they're so smart and sneaky at the same time.
