Iona? Robert Morris? Green Bay?
Oh, I've upvoted you, by the way. I see your point. I get other people saying "get over it", because there's jack shit we can do. And so people will tell you you're a conspiracy theorist and a cry-baby, and out of touch, but I get it. Your last sentence says it well and sums up your point: Just play the damn game(s) already. I get it. It's ridiculous how we've had to sit though and watch our "beloved college athletics" become a money pit and we've been left with nothing to do about it, but watch and continue to support it/them because we love them that much (hence the reason why "smart people" finally realized this and decided to make some $$$ off of that notion). Not that there's anything wrong with making money off of college sports, I mean this blog has people writing about......wait, I'm getting off track. Anyway, I'm at least half-way with you, if not more...I get it, it is pretty Re-dic when we sit back and watch and really focus on the way it's all changed due to the all-mighty dollar.

Eh. I don't think being emotional and providing leadership are mutual notions. I've gotta think the players in a way respect some of the times he goes ape, I mean, he was sticking up for them. I do see your point and there may be merit to it, I'm just not ready to believe that yet.
Plenty of coaches who freak the fuck out often are/have been known as "good leaders'. Izzo, Pitino, Knight, Boeheim, and I'd add McCaffrey, as his track record suggests so (one doesn't get Sienna a few plays from the Sweet 16, multiple times, without being a leader).

Iowa. I just don't get it. I live here and I've no idea what the hell has happened to them.

I cannot see SH finding enough offense to get a shot near the basket...expect a jacked up shot from afar yet being down only 1.
EDIT: BOOOM! I wasn't exactly wrong, though!

Illinois tomorrow. I like that much better. Back to Nova-Seton Hall. Florida State up 6 points with ~4:00 to go, also.

My goodnes...Illinois suuuuucks.
Right as Abrams puts in a nice basket for an and-1. Still, the shot selection is terrible most of the time and every miss clanks hard and has no shot for offensive rebounds.
(Indiana isn't exactly playing that much better)

The overall No.1 seed gets the "weakest" 2-seed, the weakest 4-seed, the weakest 6 and 8-seed. They/it also gets the strongest 3-seed, for what it's worth. Below is correct and easier to see, likely, than how I'm essplainin' it, especially in saying how it's a snake order seeding.
I initially had something else typed but now see what you mean. It really does get pretty close in preferences at the weakest 2-seed - strongest 3-seed area.

I'm more or less the same way these days. I'll watch with the GF as she's into sports. I'll watch with a buddy every now and then, but I really only have a select few that I'd ever watch Michigan games alongside. For example, I watched the 2nd Wisconsin-Michigan basketball game with said GF and another couple who aren't big sports fans and it was just uncomfortable. I don't allow myself to really get into it as when I'm really into it, I'm pretty sure people wouldn't think highly of me; "not thinking highly" I'm thinking is a very understated notion.
It's weird, sports. Something that's typically supposed to be shared amongst other like-minded people, obviously alongside people with the same "rooting interests", but I find being solitary is more appropriate and even desirable, anymore. Also, live action is nice, and fun at times. But it's hard to beat the experience at home on an HD television with true "replay" accesibility.
Moral of this fable?....I'm a fucking loser, I think.

If we were to face a Florida or Cincinnati type outfit, Mitch would be a huge asset to have (literally). For the most part we can manage with what we have, a couple good post-men with a good amount of experience. Mitch gives us a talent and body we otherwise don't have, one that would be very necessary to battle a few teams out there that could give us fits down low.

|4 days 9 hours ago||I mean, it's on record (don't||
I mean, it's on record (don't call me on it, I've no idea where to find it) that Beilein doesn't place a lot of emphasis on this tournament. This team and "organization" is such a cohesive unit, the players feed off everything Beilein and coaches throw at them and probably know this philosophy, at least subconsiously. If the coaches are concerned about fixing and working on things, playing sound basketball, and playing safe/healthy games and NOT concerned about winning a somewhat meaningless game, the players know this and I can easily see us getting bounced by a team playing like hyenas and struggling to survive.

Wisconsin VS Ohio in the BTT Championship. You can see how I'd have that play out for the most part, I have us losing to Indiana again in the opener. I mean, it's in Indianapolis. Oh well. The real business lies within the following weekend and this Tournament only helps us with seeding between a 2 or 3.
|4 days 9 hours ago||If you were to say anything||
If you were to say anything past the Sweet 16 is gravy/house money, I think many would/could agree. A main goal for any team should be to win the conference tournament but leaving it at that is quite naive. For a fan, maybe it's all gravy after that, but it's a dream to make the Final 4 for many of these guys (again, even the Sweet 16) for example, likely more so than winning a regular season conference title. The season won't be a failure by any means if they don't win another game, but a "very disappointing end" label is not a far stretch.
|4 days 9 hours ago||Cool, thanks. I suppose||
Cool, thanks. I suppose that's how I had it in my head. Good point on the lower seeds "being able to get a win". I know most of us fans don't really consider those first 4 games meaningful or a part of the true Tournament, but they really are NCAA Tournament Wins. I've always looked at it as being unfair they have to play the play-in game, even though they were an automatic qualifier and other at-large teams were given a pass straight into the Dance, but they're technically racking up Tournament wins by doing so.

Question: I made a diary on the BTN's Committee selection process. However, one question remained unanswered, for me, one I've been wondering since the Tournament "expanded" to 68. How exactly are the play-in games determined and how do they determine which seeds are forced to do said games? Further, why are some of the automatic qualifying 16-seeds forced to play the extra game and others not, and the same with the 11/12-seed-to-be, they've picked in the past/will pick this year?

A couple weird things about this season: Iowa is a lock for the Tournament this year, yet finish with pretty much the same record as last year(one more win and one more loss last year, 21-12, 20-11 this year). They had zero good wins last year versus, well, a couple this year.
We are Wisconsin's only loss from teams within the AP Top-25. they're 7-1, pretty good.
Oh...and Nebraska has a shot to finish FOURTH in the conference.

The commercial situation in this game is fucking terrible. A coach has called a timeout just before the every-4-minute timeout this half meaning endless commercials.

Question: Why the eff does Coach K get away with letting Wojo do the halftime interviews??! I don't care one way or another, I don't listen to the boring talking points every coach says at that moment, but the double standard irks me a bit.
|5 days 16 hours ago||They lost by 4 to Louisville||
They lost by 4 to Louisville in the Final Four.
They beat Pitt, LaSalle, Ohio St. and the "overrated" Gonzage team. I get that the Zag's bowed out early and everyone "knew they would" but they were still a damn good team the Shockers beat.
Anywho, I don't mean to be argumentative, I guess I just don't see why people continue to doubt them. (I sound like an alum or a fanboy probably, but that I am not!)
|5 days 16 hours ago||They did the same thing last||
They did the same thing last year (played a "weak schedule") and made the Final Four. I mean, its your opinion and you may end up being right, of course, but I personally don't get the overrated-label that Witchita St. gets. They have the same roster that made a Final Four a year ago. They be good!

Yea just turned the tube on a bit ago and saw Kansas' 1-seed line slipping away. Srsly, they can't keep a 1-seed after this, right?
I'm of the mindset Florida is good; really good this year. I want nothing to do with them. I think they would dominate us down low too much. Witchita St. is another team I'm not sure why everyone's down on. They played awesome ball last March and have most of the same players? And they just went undefeated. Why do people think they're overrated? I honestly think we match up better with them than Florida but really don't want any part of them either.
