Kawakami has essentially been trolling Michigan fans for the last month, and in return has been trolled by Michigan fans. He is a hack.

Meh, did they also pass a bill banning the Easter Bunny from driving on Wednesdays? Because both were about as likely to happen.
P.S., Easter Bunny bill would be unconstitutional as a bill of attainder

I just can't believe Pelini didn't wait to see if he could get the Pitt gig before he signed up with YSU. Perhaps his agent made contact and they weren't interested (I have to believe that the Nebraska AD would tell everyone who's listening to steer clear of the guy) but still it would have been a great fit, as its a stone's throw from Youngstown and Pelini's preferred recruiting region.

Yeah, it sucks to lose your job around the holidays, but it sounds like he was given time to find a new position (reading further down the thread) and/or I would assume if no new position, he has been given a nice severance pacakge. He'll be ok.

6-18 in the Big Ten from 2008-2010 makes me sad.

Too late, I already unsubscribed him. YEEAHHHHHH...
Just kidding, that would be a d!ck move.

He is guilty, IMO. I think he killed her in the heat of passion and then turned to the shadiest guy he knew (Jay) to help him get rid of the body. No other reasonable explanation exists, IMO. Nobody else had motive, except possibly Hai's new boyfriend, but he appears to have been ruled out early (or the police screwed up, but I doubt that -- they absolutely must have looked at him as a suspect but ruled him out. The cops in this case don't seem like bufoons and only bufoon cops wouldn't have checked that guy out). There are simply too many unexplainanble issues for Adnan for me to conclude he's innocent. Whether it was proved beyond a reasonable doubt, well, we weren't at the trial so hard to know.

Don't leave that up there.

Update on Deadspin via Twitter - Newton was not injured. Stretcher was a precautionary measure.
|1 week 6 days ago||Maybe it's because they're||
Maybe it's because they're telling me what I want to hear, but I trust the Rivals guys a lot more on the coaching search. Webb is great for recruiting info but Borton and Balas have been realistic but optimistic on JH all month. They are quick to dispel the (apparent) misinformation out there and have been posting almost daily updates. Sure, they don't really know any more than their sources tell them. I guess the proof will be in the hire. Last go 'round, Balas was very optimistic on Harbaugh until he suddenly wasnt. Who knows.

I largely agree with you but Jim can have it both ways - and he knows it - he can come and be the savior for his alma mater for 5 years, get the program humming again, and go back to the NFL at age 55 or 56 (Pete Carroll is 63 btw) with plenty of time to compete for a ring. Not to mention, he could sit back and coach Michigan and make the move back when the right NFL gig opens up. His current choices - Jets or Raiders (though with many more likely to come after the season wraps up)-- are less than ideal for a guy who wants to win a Super Bowl. Also, maybe he's realizing that his style is just better suited to college. Who knows.

I want to downvote your post because the information makes me sad, but that wouldn't be fair to you. Let's hope Sam is off on this one.

Former DC there under Coker. So let's hope they can Al Golden's ass!
|2 weeks 3 days ago||This just proves that||
This just proves that Michigan fans will click on literally anything Harbaugh-related these days.
Also, I hope we get him but that is an obscene sum of money. Still, chump change considering what's on the line.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||That's great, does it erase his 6-18 Big Ten record at Michigan?||
No? Look, he was not the right guy for Michigan. I wish him the best of luck at 'Zona (apparently he doesn't need it) but it wasn't going to work here.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||I wish him the best of luck||
I appreciate that he was a good representative of the football program and, by extension, the university I love. However, he was in over his head as a coach and made more money in four years than many of us will make in our careers. I will not shed a tear as he departs, nor do I feel sorry for him, but I won't revel in his failure either. Good luck and goodbye, Coach Hoke.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||He'd be a great DC under Les Miles||
Which is what he was to begin with. I'd rather see Brian "The Angry Tomato" Kelly as our HC before Pelini.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||If Harbaugh is indeed plan A and Hackett's primary target...||
Then what's the rush? No more games to be played and JH won't be available until 12/28 at the earliest. Yeah, recruiting, but if JH is coming that will work itself out quite quickly. I just hope we don't get burned.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||I haven't seen many posters||
I haven't seen many posters denigrating Hoke's character as a person. Maybe I missed some angry posts after the game that got nuked, but I think the consensus is that Hoke is a really good guy but not up to the task at hand. I don't think OP's post was stating anything other than the obvious - i.e., don't be a jerk.

|4 weeks 2 days ago||I think Miles is the most likely to land here||
Not saying he's my first choice, just the most likely.The M ties, the supposed desire to finish his career where it began, the feeling that a few have expressed that it's probably time for him to have a change of scenery from Baton Rouge all give this legs, in my opinion. Though he's 61 he's probably got nearly a decade of coaching left in him. I also think that short of Jim Harbaugh, Miles has the lowest transition costs as he could immediately use the roster he'd inherit. He's definitely more of a CEO and has made some boneheaded in-game calls, but I have no doubt he'd win at Michigan.
Finally,as for the burned bridges or whatever Les did or did not do with Mrs. Moeller, fingers crossed that with Brandon and MSC no longer in the picture those concerns will not block Miles from coming (again). Does anybody know if Hackett enjoys sailing?

11 men on the field on every play for 4 weeks running!
|4 weeks 3 days ago||Lost me? ND. Concerned me? 2012||
That's easy - ND this year. Hoke's road woes were concerning before this game but the extent to which he could field an utterly unprepared team in a major rivalry game blew my mind.
My concerns about Hoke started in the 2012 with the Nebraska QB debacle and the OSU game, when we came out and laid an egg in the second half of a winnable game, though at the time I placed blame on Borges as much as anyone.
However, last years PSU game, getting demolished by MSU, historically bad OL play, and the pattern of decline in Hoke's record had me on yellow alert until Borges got canned. Then optimism took over, with a hope that things would improve -- until the ND shellacking.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||If nothing else, Webb confirms that Greggggg Henson...||
Webb's article confirms that Gregg Henson (the blogger he mentions) has a legitimate source with ties to Harbaugh. Aside from that, it's just a lot of CYA.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||Actually it works out really well this way||
It would put the new AD in a bad position if his first official act was axing Hoke, and it would be hard for the new AD to get up to speed in time to make the new hire. Hackett was brought in specifically to make the firing/hiring decision. If the intent was a quick transition to a permanent AD, they would have just promoted somebody from within in the AD to the interim spot for a month or two. Expect Hackett to stick around through the spring, at least.
|6 weeks 1 day ago||I disagree that there's "zero" chance of beating OSU||
If nothing else, Hoke's teams have never failed to show up vs. OSU. We've been competitive in both losses. I wouldn't put our chances much higher than 10% but there's a non-zero chance of a win.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||Exactly. See Florida-Georgia 2014||
Miracles can and do happen, but only a fool bets on them.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||It's unlikely, but to entertain...||
Since OP threw it out there, IF (and big, major, unlikely, not happenin' kind of IF) but if Michigan won out I think Hoke would be retained and given one more year to really show if he can turn things around (probably cannot). However, decisions are not made in a vacuum, unless it's the sucking vortex of Dave Brandon's ego, and I do think Harbaugh's availability/willingness to come to UM will play a role in the decision (all via backchannels of course).
