The 2014 class is going to have 4-5 guys and currently only has one if you don't count Hatch. This has nothing to do with Blueitt and Booker (nor Looney and Edwards for that matter).

| 3 weeks 3 days ago | The Lions will not be picking |
The Lions will not be picking at #8. In today's pass-happy climate, it is very hard to go 4-12 with a combination like Stafford-to-Calvin. It took deficiencies at all but maybe 3-4 other starting positions as well as a historically bad season of game coaching from Schwartz to get to where they got. Hard to see it going that poorly again, even though they clearly aren't ready to contend.

Wonder if ol' Dave ever expressed such concern about a single mother trying to live on minimum wage and no benefits while working at Domino's when he was CEO there. Brandon is a suit. Those are usually exploitative types. His comments ring hollow when you look at his history.

Just curious - would you actually have any interest in watching any plays from that MSU game last year outside of Denard-to-Dileo and the winning FG? Of all wins in football or basketball that should feel good, I can't think of any that were a worse eyesore than that one. |
| 4 weeks 3 days ago | Robinson is so obviously a 3 |
Robinson is so obviously a 3 and not a 4. His getting killed on the boards by the similarly sized but differently skilled Behanan in the second half was probably the biggest factor in Louisville winning that game. When the kid got chances to shoot jumpers and make dribble drives, he often looked good (especially in the tournament). Timmy just soaked up so many of those opportunities last year when we weren't running the high ball screen with Burke. For Brian to make it out like this can't work because Beilein has "dedicated his whole career to spacing" is very inconsistent. Wasn't Brian the guy who after the OSU football game said Beilein should be Hoke's model for how to willingly change with what the game gives you? Now he is drawing a comparison to Al Borges. Wow. Beilein knows what he is doing and he knows how to adapt. This should be established by now.

Based on what we know now, Donnal is not getting 10 minutes a game. |
| 4 weeks 4 days ago | A commenter on UMHoops.com |
A commenter on UMHoops.com made a good point that we should be getting another home game in the B1G/ACC Challenge this coming year since we just came off two seasons with road games in that competition (2010-11 and 2011-12). Don't know if it will happen but it's worth watching and I hope Brandon mentions it to the powers that be. If we get a good ACC team on the road, this will be the toughest non-conference we have seen in a while. Arizona and ISU will both be tough. |

Pac 12 teams have been doing a pretty good job reminding Stanford that they aren't the best in basketball for a while now. |

Hollowell looked really nice in some of the highlight packages released throughout the fall as well, with some of those good plays against Darboh and Chesson. |
| 5 weeks 4 days ago | Right. I just don't view |
Right. I just don't view Louisville as the mountain that Duke, IU and UCLA were. They were the favorite going in but if McGary played like he did in the tournament all year and we got better breaks in the regular season, the #1 overall seed could of very well been us.

| 5 weeks 4 days ago | The difference between SG and |
The difference between SG and SF has been microscopic under Beilein. The general direction of the game reduces it to three positions - point, wing and big (in addition to combo guards and combo forwards). |
| 5 weeks 4 days ago | Remarkably neutral compared |
Remarkably neutral compared to what? They aren't ND broadcasters; they are national. Unlike a local radio/TV broadcast, they are not feeding the game to people who want to see Notre Dame win nor are they employees of the ND athletic department. It's a unique relationship. No one should expect them to be homers. |

Morgan redshirted in '09-'10 because he was injured. |
| 5 weeks 4 days ago | What sucks is we have drawn |
What sucks is we have drawn terrible matchups in the five losses. Teams we caught: -UCLA in the midst of their 10-title dynasty -Indiana in what is still the last undefeated campaign Div. I college basketball has seen -A Duke squad that is in the argument for the best champion of the past 30 years (only '90 UNLV and '12 Kentucky even compare) I'll call the Louisville game a toss-up (they had more experience/chemistry, we probably had more overall talent). North Carolina was the only team we lost to that we truly should have beat. Donald Williams was just in a total zone from behind the arc and carried that Heels squad to a place they didn't really deserve to be. |

McGary, Horford, Morgan and Biefeldt all being present and healthy is probably the only way Donnal doesn't see a little PT. Basketball redshirts are rare.

| 5 weeks 4 days ago | Mayock is outstanding. Easily |
Mayock is outstanding. Easily the best color man in the game today IMO. Will be interesting to see if Hicks has a less ND bent than Hammond did. NBC has to know that the majority of people watching those games want the Irish to lose and have no interest in hearing a homer play-by-play guy. |
| 6 weeks 3 days ago | "I'm not the least bit |
"I'm not the least bit surprised with your inability..." is a great way to start a sentence when you take issue with someone calling you a pompous prick. They both have a story that the media latches onto. Neither can be there and just blend in. He went to the locker room to lift the boys spirits, just like Cazzie and Novak and Mills did. I take solace that we have a team of great guys who love figures like Jalen and probably could not stand a boorish stiff like yourself.

Knock yourself out. At the end of the day, guys like you and Bando Calrissian embody every negative stereotype about the haughty, out-of-touch member of our fanbase. Not something to be proud of. Your logic in the original post was anything but "educated." The poster who responded that by this rationale, Kevin Ware is an attention whore was right on the money.

Glad to see "Butterfield" get lashed properly in this thread. The guy's posts portend that he is every bit the smug, stuffy asshole as the one in his avatar. |

People on this board can't approach a single thread that has someone's name in it that even approaches controversy and resist stupid, immature comments. Really pathetic. |

All the sophs will be back. Burke and THJ ride off into the sunset after Monday, hopefully with a NC. Of course, those two would insinuate a "large core" but is Ace insinuating more? I don't see it.

| 6 weeks 5 days ago | Many schools got hoodwinked |
Many schools got hoodwinked around that time into thinking if you hired a Duke assistant, you would get the Duke mystique. Like other programs, we found out the hard way that is not even close to true. Mike Bray is by far the most successful member of the Coach K tree and his resume is kinda meh (only one Sweet 16 in 13 years at ND).

| 6 weeks 5 days ago | The private company he |
The private company he founded was very small in terms of staff size. He never had to be an extroverted, polished communicator. To take over something as large as UM athletics (not to mention it being a big part of the public's eye) had to be a jolt to his way of operation. As good as he was at funding facilities without going into the red, he never really found his footing in any other part of the job. I too have heard he is a very good guy. Just terribly miscast, which was the school's fault. |

Ebert leaves a far greater legacy than Siskel, who was just a hack reviewer with a Yale degree. Ebert, on the other hand, reinvented film critcism. Didn't always agree with him, but you could really feel the soul in his writing. |

Scary article on Michigan for Syracuse fans: They have Trey Burke. |
| 7 weeks 4 days ago | This has generated |
This has generated more commentary than a great game column about a team that just made the Final Four. Considering Michigan football has not given us anything big to cheer about on a national postseason stage in over 15 years, sporting priorities seem a bit out of whack.

| 8 weeks 1 day ago | Gonna need to see way more |
Gonna need to see way more than 1.2 innings of work in the ninth (which is what he had last postseason) to make that call. History tells us that different roles can account for a slight performance difference but over the long term, someone with numbers as bad as Coke is bad no matter what you do with him. |
