He would have been fired the next year if he didn’t compete for the MAC again. Smart for him to go to Arkansas. He came in to cmu with a group of spread players on offense and tried to go power and that didn’t work at all. He replaced butch jones (who replaced Brian Kelley) and talent was there. 3-9 his first 2 Years and was coaching on 1 year contracts in his last 2 Years before he bolted for Arkansas.
Most everyone in mount pleasant was excited to see him leave. He would have been fired if he stayed another year and kept losing. I heard the rumblings of him coming, was hoping it wasn’t true. I Went to almost every home game when he coached @ cmu. Can’t imagine he can help our offense. Don’t like the hire but hope it works out somehow.
That was a big game for Shane. If he struggled he would have been pulled quick. He didn't look good vs Rhode Island (besides the Leap). Hope he keeps it up. Big win for CMU, 2nd year in a row beating a big 12 team.

You know he wasn't alone on his visit. Which players were hosting him is the question? Doubt he brought weed with him from Florida because he flew. Let's just hope he got the grass from the players that were showing him around. That would be great!
Watching msu give up 54 at home to NW made my weekend. I live an hour north of Lansing around a bunch of Sparty's and hearing absolutely nothing from them (besides cussing) for the 4th straight week was great!!
Let's start by keeping Donovan Peoples-jones in state and at MICHIGAN!! He would be a big one that also could start a trend of top in state talent staying!

O well on Nauta. We will find another TE star! Onwenu looked great and Crawford looks like a physical slot guy with some athleticism and can block. Also long wearing Michigan arm bans is awesome.
