Two Decades of Excellence

Only player in the history of football to win the Heisman Trophy, National Championship, Superbowl and NFL Defensive Player of the year.  Undefeated in 3 games vs Ohio State.  It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine and Charles Woodson is the one of the biggest reasons why.

Graham coming into his own

I was at a bar during draft and all the pundits said we were trading up for Earl Thomas.  When BG's name got called I was the only Eagle fan still smiling.  After some ups and downs (mostly injury related)  it's good to see him realizing his potential.  Brings consistent pressure on QB, strong against the run, and not a complete liability in coverage.  PFF has been giving him lots of love, glad to see the rest of interwebz and press joining suit.  During last week's cowboy's game, they were slobbering over Tyron Smith and on the ensuing play, BG beat him like a drum for  strip sack (no recovery), as a diehard Michgan/Eagles fan it was quite enjoyable.

HAPPY HARBAUGHNUKAH!

Thousands of mormons about to question the existence of God after witnessesing HARBAUGHGEDDON.

Farm for sale

Going into offseason, I was deadset against burning multiple picks and players to acquire Mariota. But given the alternative of Sam Bradford as my starting QB, there is now no price I would not be willing to pay for the 2 pick.

Well played Chip.  Make the existing QB choices on hand so unpalatable that I have no choice but to accept and actively root for the Titans to rob us blind with a blockbuster trade that makes RG3 look like a dollar store bargain.

Lesean turns 27 in july

27 is the age where RBs typically fall apart.  McCoy is coming off back to back 300+ carry seasons.

I think McCoy still has some gas in the tank, but as Belicek has proven time and time again, better to be a year early than a year late with an expensive veteran.
PG County is pretty awful

If you're looking to settle down with your family, I would seek alternatives in Montgomery or Howard county.  Better Schools, much less crime, and higher property resale value, albeit at a much higher cost.

Bowie and Severna Park are not bad options if you don't want to pay the MoCo/HoCo premium.

If you're not worried about schools and such, I'd prioritze commute over anything else.  The beltway is god damn nightmare and anything that minimizes the distance you have to travel would be my focus.  Access to metro would be key if you work in DC.

Awkward Homecoming

Finally the unholy marriage of the Terps and the B1G puts my true loyalties to the test.

Spent my first 18 years of life growing up in Maryland, rooting for the Terps.

Fell in love with Desmond Howard and the Fab Five and Michigan became my college of choice as a 10 year old and was fortunate to live out this dream as an undergraduate 8 years later.

How do you reconcile love of your hometown team with the love of your alma mater?

Gun to head I GO BLUE and I will be rocking Maize and Blue at the Xfinity Center tommorrow afternoon, but deep down inside I could see myself rooting for a close loss to preserve Maryland's hopes at a top 2 seed.

So wierd.  When the move was announced I thought it was great to be a fan of two teams with a shot to take down the buckeyes and spartans, two chances to take down a big ten title, two chances to make the NCAA tourney...

Now when faced with a head to head matchup, I find myself conflicted and am curious to see whether the throng of rabid Maryland fans will tug at my hometown heartstrings with their enthusiasm or further harden my Wolverine resolve with their obnoxious behavior.

Equal parts excited, anxious, and conflicted about this game.

TLDR: Grew up in MD as Terps Fan, returning to College Park as a Michigan Fan.  Emotions conflicted.

One of my favorite Eagles

Never made flashy plays, but caught everything thrown his way and moved the sticks.  Also a willing and strong blocker in the run game.  Dependable and durable, exactly what you want in a slot receiver.  He will be missed.

That said, I'm excited to see what a Desean/Maclin/Ertz/Cooper/Celek tandem can do next year.  Foles will not be lacking options in the passing game even without Avant.

Another Run For a Loss

We don't need no trickerration

We don't need to pass the ball

No bubble screens to test the defense

We'll just keep on running into 8 man walls

Hey! Borges!  Leave that scheme alone.

Try a WR screen and throw us mgofans a bone.

If you don't run up the gut, you can't throw playaction.

How can you have playaction if you don't run up the gut?

0 star DB, meet 5 star RB

ouch.

WICHITA ST TICKET OFFICE

Just got four tickets in (100 or 200 section, TBD on site) for $1,712 from Wichita St Ticket Office.  Had to make $500 donation ($300 per ticket) plus processing fees.

normally i'd agree...

...that one mistake shouldn't overshadow a lifetime of good deeds, but when that one mistake is letting your defensive coordinator get away with molesting and raping innocent children under your roof for at least a decade, I have zero respect for the man.  His lungs may be failing him now, but nowhere close to how badly he failed those kids.

1997

Charles Woodson's punt return is seared into my memory.  The greatest sports moment I've ever witnessed in person.

Will never forget the sight of Woodson streaking by a thunderstruck Ohio St sideline.

Will never forget the feeling of 100,000 Michigan fans jumping up and down on the bleachers, my whole section just imploded on itself and nobody cared.

Will never forget the sound of 100,000 Michigan fans belting out the victors.

I want to feel that again and I want it so desperately to happen this Saturday.

BY GOD GO BLUE

Beat Ohio.

Do it for the TEAM.  Do it for the seniors.  Do it so I can HAIL until my lungs burst.

GO BLUE.

JP is right man for the job

Played club lax at Michigan during JP's first few years as head coach.  Really has done an amazing job of taking the "keg on the field" culture and transforming the entire program into one that is serious about being competitive and winning championships.  It's only fitting that he stays at the helm for their inaugural voyage into varsity.
