Love those guys. Great players. Never forget Stauskas blowing kisses to Breslin crowd. But, I don't really think a top recruit wants to play in the D-league. Beilein got them noticed, but you can't say his system has done them any good in the NBA.
I was speaking of the Harbaugh family sitting by the Indiana bench stupid. I was not referring to myself as the best thing to happen to Michigan sports in decades. Also, I have a life and it's going just fine dipshit.
Walton running out of bounds was priceless. I've been one of the hated Beilein apologists all season. I give. This team is a disaster. Northwestern sucks and we were still lucky to win.
Oh, and the best thing to happen to Michigan sports in decades will be rooting for Indiana tomorrow.
Big gamble leaving the comfort of the Harbaugh umbrella and going to work for Jerry Jones. Good for him if it's what he wants, but he'd be safe by keeping his eyes open for other NFL opportunities. It seems like the Cowboy's have been "next season's suprise super bowl contender" every season for the last 25 years.
I say shuffle the D staff around and open the LB coaching job for Ditka.
Agreed. When they are moving, setting screens and hustling to get open the offense works great. But they do go into the rut every game of just standing around until 10 seconds left on the shot clock, and then racing to get open enough to bomb a prayer 3.
Beilein needs to stop jacking around and admit that Caris' career at UM is over. If he's that out of game shape, by the time he returns it would be the conference tournament. He'll have no flow with the rest of the team and will be no help. Just admit that the kid is done and move on.
Just wanted to revisit those names. Love them, but all stars they will never be. Trey's shot against Kansas, GR3's put in to save the Purdue game, Stauskis blowing kisses to MSU fans as he ran off the court & Mitch just being Mitch. All great memories, but they have all struggled badly since jumping to the NBA. Give Beilein some credit for getting the most out of each of them. He made those guys millionaires.
I hate bashing Beilein, but every game when we can't shoot Beilein just keeps encouraging them to keep throwing up shots from 3. I get shooting yourself out of a slump, but if the whole team are just lobbing up bricks I can't understand why they don't abandon it and drive the lane. Walton, Irvin, MAAR, Dawkins and even Robinson have all shown the ability to drive. That would compact the defense and create wide open looks from outside. When plan A isn't working, there should be at least a thought about a possible plan B.
I hate when idiots like us give coaching advise. I just couldn't help myself.
We also have a new big coming in next season. He won't be developed or anything. He'll have stone hands as a freshman, and it will still be the case when he's a senior. But he will be tall. Kinda the same thing, Right?
Last night was a bit of a mirage. The game was under control until Minnesota figured out that they could drive the lane at will. Indiana exposed it right from tip off & Minnesota figured it out in the second half. Every team going forward should know now that driving the lane is a gimme. Playing a zone defense the rest of the way may be our best bet.
I hate to bash Beilein because of the train wreck he walked into. At least people care about the hoops team again thanks to him. But, he has to at least find an assistant with a proven track record with recruiting when the season's over. This clearly isn't his strength. He has the resources to have a consistant winner. And, for the love of god could they at least spend some time learning how to block out, finish at the basket and maybe get the ball through the hoop when they dunk?
Got somebody in mind? Replacing the coach is always a great idea until you see the available talent. Ridriguez and Hoke were big steps towards the future. Worked out great.
We are more bad at basketball than we are good at basketball. I'm generally cool with it. We aren't Kansas, never going to be. But good god do they even discuss defense? That's my half hearted rant. I'm over it.

I like the match ups. Sweet 16 is kinda possible. Xavier will probably be the end of the road but I'd take it.
Isn't that the definition of not being able to recruit?

If you are a top recruit and want to go to the NBA, you're not going to play for Beilein. His system prepares players to play in his system.
The shots of Spike on the bench had me concerned. His hair didn't have it's usual luster and bounce. I think that was a factor today.
This game negates yesterday's win. NIT it is.

I think KENPOM dropped the ball on this one. We are going to get stomped.

Harbaugh loves to troll the SEC. It would actually be hilarious if he seriously offered the job to Saban just to be a dick.

I was watching the Simpsons monorail episode on dvd as I opened this thread. I call jinx and think free swag is in order.

My friend, you may need a time out...
Everything is going to be ok.

Can't help it. I gotta jump in on this. I swear Ron Baker has been playing at Wichita State since the 70's.
