I'm studying for my math stats final. I just don't understand the delta method/propogation of errors method for obtaining the large sample distribution of an estimator. I'm looking at my class notes, and I can't get an intuition for how it's derived and justified. Starting to get a sinking feeling here. |

Brian Griese is doing color commentary for the Iowa State-Oklahoma State game. I'd provide a breakdown of his performance, except that I'd have to watch a meaningless B12 game to do it. |

Thanks for providing an appropriate venue for some ranting. For reasons that I can't explain, my head fills with a red haze of rage every time a college football announcer uses the word "trickeration". And they feel compelled to use it every game. Please explain, announcer guy, does "trickery" not convey the same idea? Is this supposed to be clever? Also, someone please tell Jesse Palmer that "no question about it" is not a clever catch-phrase. |

When they panned the crowd after the interception, the camera briefly settled on some couple who were swappin' spit. Two-score games are h-o-t. Even when you're on the wrong end of it, apparently. Hmm, maybe I shouldn't fear tomorrow so much. |

I know the point of language is to be understood and not merely to follow arbitrary rules. I understand this word. But for some reason, it really, really, makes me "Hulk-smash" angry every g-d time I hear it. And I hear it on every college football broadcast now. Stop it. Please. I beg you. |

I'd pick him just so we can revive, one more time, this lovely tribute (haiku-style): #45, LB David Harris |

I'd much prefer a beer (Shiner, since Bell's is not available locally). But I'm living the shut-in lifestyle for real tonight, so it's whatever is in the cabinet. Coke and rum'll have to do. Arrr. |
