He told our analysts he was still considering a visit either this week or next week, but told other reporters differently. It's looking less likely he visits, but he hasn't shut the door.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||Of course||
I'd add one thing; the intel on Jefferson hasn't really changed a lot....he's just had a tendency to be a flake. When he committed to Ole Miss, he told the Oklahoma staff he was committing to them. Because of that, I've been hesitant to make any prediction on him. We keep hearing good things though, so I went with it tonight.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||Hey guys||
I don't think I am the only recruiting writer who feels good about him right now. He had a great visit and Drew Richmond decommitting from Ole Miss (they are friends) helps their case too.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||It||
It was the day after Michigan offered ---- which was about a week and a half ago. It may have changed since then!
|4 weeks 1 day ago||I'm||
I'm always on a mission to defeat the idea that all recruiting writers are evil click-whores, that's all.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||Yeah||
Yeah, this isn't true. We made the article free to avoid the perception that we were fishing for subs ahead of NSD. Thanks for reading though.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||Deleted||
I deleted it off his timeline over a week ago and it still shows up on his page for some reason.
To my knowledge John is not and will not be visiting again. He's risking it at Tennessee instead. Sorry about the confusion.
|5 weeks 6 days ago||Always||
Always appreciate the links; thanks.
Michigan's chances of flipping him were very low, so it's not a major negative that he's not coming. More resources can be put towards kids they have a good shot with.

Not an article I would read much into as a Michigan fan because Michigan only has six commitments.
Normally, the national writers for the site ask our input on these types of pieces. They did not for this one. They went strictly by the recruiter rankings.
We've switched over as many targets as we can to the new staff, so it will be interesting to see if any of the new staff works their way up those rankings.

Michigan is in it with him again, with MSU probably leading at this moment. He wants to visit for a basketball game. 2016 is mostly on the backburner right now though.
|10 weeks 1 day ago||Masina||
Masina has no interest, regardless of who the hire is. He's down to three schools.
|11 weeks 2 days ago||I||
I can't speak for him, I just wanted to clarify how he approached it. It's definitely peculiar, but peculiar seems to be his style anyways.
|11 weeks 2 days ago||Clarify how this went||
Miles had all media turn off the cameras, etc. before his weekly Monday presser tonight and told them (technically off the record) that he will not be the next coach at Michigan. That's why that update (and the others that will be written) do not include any direct quotes from him.
|15 weeks 1 day ago||I||
I realize the quote from Marshall reads funny but he's speaking theoretically in regards to what his interest in Michigan would be if a change took place. Nothing more, but positive either way.
Also, on Cole, he has been a near no-threat to commit despite his scheduled visits elsewhere. We've been reporting before Purdue and Nebraska were even scheduled.
|16 weeks 3 days ago||We||
We reported this first. Can't help that BR picked it up. Can say with certainty that his interest is real. I don't see him as a fit at Michigan and don't believe he would be heavily pursued.
|18 weeks 1 day ago||Can||
Can say that it doesn't take place in 2014, and in particular with the offensive staff.
Never once said that it never happened. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if it took place at some point or another.
|22 weeks 6 days ago||Tomorrow||
Tomorrow (Friday) is Chad's birthday too. Would be cool if anyone did what they could to wish him a happy birthday.
|26 weeks 6 days ago||A couple more||
A couple besides Jeff Thomas...
Edwardsville has 2017 DE stud AJ Epenesa, who performed better at the Chicago NFTC this summer than Jashon Cornell did (beat him for DL MVP). He will have a Michigan offer in the near future.
O'Fallon has 2016 RB Kentrail Moran, who holds a Michigan offer and has the Wolverines on top as well.
|27 weeks 6 days ago||It||
It is totally false.
|30 weeks 5 days ago||Right?||
Any prediction made on him was based off of pure speculation. There was no good info out there on what he was going to do. Even those calling MSU late were going off of a quick reaction on his visit to EL before he made it to the BBQ.
|30 weeks 6 days ago||He||
He will only be like Josh Garnett if he tells commits and coaches he is committing to Michigan and then commits elsewhere.
|31 weeks 1 day ago||Crystal Ball||
I don't make a prediction unless I confirm information from more than one source on a situation, or if someone I trust has done the same. Very rarely do I shoot from the hip when making these predictions. I have a few times though, if we're being honest.
It's a useful tool. It's not flawless. There are some analysts who throw things out there, but most tend to be responsible. There are some fringe OSU bloggers that go very Buckeye-heavy and when I first started with them I made a couple irresponsible choices, but for the most part it's going to give you a pretty accurate idea of what's going on in a kid's recruitment.
|40 weeks 6 days ago||Michigan||
Michigan is in the conversation for a lot of top players right now. That's what happens when you have a small class and can narrow your focus on a smaller group of overall players.
How they finish will in a lot of ways be determined by how they finish on the field this year, at least with the players that plan to wait that long to commit. The honeymoon in some ways is over as far as recruiting goes; some kids want to see a high quality product on the field.
As far as the "maize and blue fever" or whatever that is, those who believe that probably don't follow the site very closely. Michigan has a long track record of doing very, very well when they get players on campus. In terms of strictly recruiting, they are easily one of the top programs in the country, which is why players are consistently high on them when the coaching staff puts the effort in with them. Saying Kendall Sheffield (example) wants to visit (which he does) and making it clear that LSU, Alabama and Texas A&M will be difficult to beat is not pumping out sunshine.
Appreciate the shout-out though. Hope everyone is doing well.

The amount of "hahahahahaha"s vastly outweighed the "LOL"s that I got regarding the Borges news

RIP Kerry Von Erich - The Texas Tornado

But one name to keep an eye on, at least as a potential offer is Kelly Bryant out of Piedmont, SC. He's getting looks and has the Gardner skillset. Clemson will be tough to beat though: Kelly Bryant

His teammate WR Trent Irwin is a four-star player who has seen varying interest from Michigan. Irwin has relatives that went to Michigan as well and they'd be a major player if they offered.

It's recruiting news, but not Michigan-related. Looked to be at first. You're right though, you can carry on.
|1 year 30 weeks ago||He||
He and 2016 RB Kentrail Moran had discussed coming up for a visit last week because Jackson was still supposed to be in town, and Moran was invited to the BBQ but had no transportation. The two are friends.
It did not take place, and yes Jackson is an extreme longshot even if he does come to campus.

Thought it was odd that Tim didn't specify; 99% chance it will be for the ND game.
