Sam Webb said he would leave without hesitation, if offered a coaching position at Maryland.
He wants to coach, not be a recruiting coordinator.

Thought you were overly harsh on the Green 3rd and 1 run. It's a somewhat slow developing play where he is just starting to turn the corner and build up steam, as the safety comes in flying at his legs. Not sure Deveon breaks that tackle either to be honest. Think it's a nice play by the safety and a function of Green having not enough momentum as he hits the hole (because of the play design).

you're an asshole.
the subtext of your post goes beyond political; it's uglier.
to the substance of your post...i think people are / were frustrated that up until yesterday Rudock's effeciency and propensity to turn the ball over were as bad or worse the Gardner's, and yet he also didn't have Gardner's ability to make a play. He wasn't the solid "game manager" we expected.
We are 3-1 almost entirely because of our defense. Our one loss is largely on Rudock if we're being honest -- and I think we'd have the same record with Shane starting. Rudock may be our best option, but doesn't mean people are being unfair to him IMO. He hasn't been very good (in a football sense).
|20 weeks 3 days ago||It's clear he's VERY||
It's clear he's VERY protective of his quarterback.
More than happy to talk about how Stribling played two games tentatively and how Braden was the 5th best lineman and how Jourdan Lewis could shore up his tackling.
But SHARK EYES when asked how Rudock could improve.
I think the difference is he clearly has positive things to say about the aforementioned players. They are all improving or excelling. He doesn't want to field a question that would yield a negative answer.
|20 weeks 3 days ago||Kind of a separate||
Kind of a separate discussion, but if I had the option for Harbaugh to have Gardner or Rudock as a freshman for four years, I'd take Gardner ten times out of ten.
|20 weeks 3 days ago||Look, I'm all for giving the||
Look, I'm all for giving the QB a shot and not being divisive, but don't distort the facts.
Statistically it's the exact opposite of what you're saying. Rudock has been the least effecient quarterback we've had since Threet/Sheridan....through 3 games.
People seem to have short memories, but through 3 games Denard had Heisman talk each year he played, and Gardner looked insanely good in 2013 (remember the ND game?). Even last year, Gardner's numbers were better than Rudock's for the first 3, where we also had a 2-1 record.
All that said, I think and hope Rudock will improve, as will the offense overall. But just because he's more of a "traditional" pocket passer than DG or Shoelace doesn't mean he's been more competent by any means, thus far.
|20 weeks 3 days ago||I wouldn't say Rudock is way||
I wouldn't say Rudock is way ahead of 2014 Gardner.
Through 3 games...
Ruddock 64% | 582 yards | 3TD 5INT
Gardner 68% | 546 Yards | 5TD 5INT
Fairly similar competition level. Rudock has had a much better Oline, Gardner had Funchess.
Now Gardner regressed, and I think Rudock will hopefully improve -- but he's really been quite bad thus far haha.
|22 weeks 6 hours ago||I'd like to pile on here.||
I'd like to pile on here. Pescadero, you're wrong. Or not comprehending. Or not caring to. From an outsider's perspective, it's just very clear that you're in over your head.
I thought Space Coyote was pretty clear, but in case this helps, in more layman terms:
There is a READ involved in this play. There are receivers running past the sticks, and a receiver running one yard short of the sticks. The play is meant to force the defender to hedge in one direction -- leaving at least one of the receivers open. It is up to the QB to READ where he should throw the ball in order to get the first down.
In SOME cases, that open receiver would be Butt (and by open, I mean open enough so that he can clearly pick up the one extra yard for the first down). That was not the case here. He was covered, and thus Rudock should not have thrown the ball to Butt. That is why the play failed. Because if Rudock had waited a moment, the receiver running the 'stick' past the sticks would have come open -- for a first down.
There's nothing inherently wrong with having a receiver run a route short of the sticks, but Rudock made the wrong read to throw it to him because he was covered.

Hmm...I think you're probably right. Good interpretation.
I don't think Brandon was a good AD or anything, but I do think Bacon has a bit of an axe to grind here. Seems to be drawing the black and white conclusion that Brandon's ego was the main thing that got in the way of getting Harbaugh, when I think it's equally likely he just was kind of shit at wooing a top level head coach, due to inexperience, personality, and other factors. The fans were clamorning for Harbuagh, and Brandon must have known he would have been worshipped had he landed him.
I'd say (and have heard from others, like Sam Webb) that Mary Sue and Lloyd Carr's coldness to the idea of Harbaugh was a much bigger factor in him "not feeling the love."
|24 weeks 3 days ago||This excerpt doesn't make a||
This excerpt doesn't make a lot of sense.
It says: Brandon was very self-critical when he didn't get Harbaugh and was fully expecting to get him -- Harbaugh was his first choice. His problem was ineptitude in executing that choice, not intention.
Brandon wanted to be the center of attention and didn't want a coach like Harbaugh, who would outshine him....
Those two ideas don't really square with each other.

Don't think you're interpreting this right. Bo and Lloyd we're exactly known for being super forthcoming about injuries, or anything. I'd say it's much more likely that concussions weren't as big of a deal for that generation. Know that doesn't square with Brian and many others reaction to the Shane event, but I'm pretty sure that's what he meant.

I'm almost positive it's the latter. He means the reaction of the media, and that it shouldn't have been such a big deal in the first place.
He starts out saying he hasn't really been following it...because it Bo and Lloyd's days, kids playing with concussions wasn't a major news event.
