Barwis seems more outspoken than Gittleson ever was. But in Gittleson's defense.... he and all of Michigan's fans had Lloyd Carr to blame. Michigan has been known as having the finest conditioned football players in all of college football. They (Gittleson) must have been doing something right! U of M has more active players in the NFL than any other program.
Hell, these guys just beat Florida, the defending Natl champs with a Heisman quarterback to boot.....because they were fired up and mentally prepared to win. Carr finally had it right. Carr was not highly motivated and was planning retirement. That's not what we need at Michigan.... a retiring coach. Unfortunately, we'll now go through some tuff times. OSU will be dominate with their young buck QB. Illinois is an up and comer with Zook at the helm.
Barwis will be good... but, Gittleson was not what was wrong with our Wolverines.
