|2 days 14 hours ago||Finally its Friday!!||
You know its been a long unproductive week when you look back at your timesheets for the week and don't believe you actually did that work....
|3 days 7 hours ago||FYI Brian||
The blocking totals for the recievers don't add up. Judging from the comment in the chart it seems to be left over from App St....

Its not like he was absent from Michigan's radar as a high schooler. IIRC he had us in his top 5 for quite some time, and I find it hard to believe he was considering coming here out of high school without some interaction with Fred Jackson
|6 days 8 hours ago||This. So Much This.||
After readng up more on this since the video was released today the amount of half measures that were being taken (NFL especially) in hopes of it all blowing over is sickening. Just looking at some tweets in this article it sounds like the Ravens knew what happened and how bad it could be before the video surfaced.

which we do not live in. First off, I am not a lawyer nor have I paid the utmost attention to this story so im not clear on the timeline of events.
That being said the one thing I can think of that sounds reasonable is that if there is an open police investigation the NFL would not try to circumvent that in any public way. They may have/could have thrown their weight around behind closed doors to obtain the tape but I assume that is risky as well.

is that if the NFL gave more than the ole' college try there might be some legal backlash against the NFL. In other words the gray area where TMZ operates in obtaining "leaks" prolly wouldn't fly in the war room of NFL lawyers if someone was to propse trying all posible options for obtaining the full video.

Parents need to stop looking to blame others for their own shortcomings as a parent. Kid hears a swear word and starts repeating it too much? Explain what it means and why its not always OK to say. Kid sees some tittes on Cinemax? Explain why that programming exists and maybe why its OK to be naked sometimes (if you are a more progressive parent...).
Kid starts to root for Notre Dame? Put them up for adoption, there is no saving them...

The official alumni bars for Chicago now have in the description that they donate to scholarship programs. As a note, alumni bars have a red pin while "Michigan friendly" bars have a blue pin, and I'm reluctant to remove bars just becasue they aren't official alumni club locations without good reason (i.e. closure/new management/etc).

Yes I do think your solution speaks to an unheathy attitude towards privacy as well as personal possessions. To deleve deeper would most likely violate the sanctity of this here sports blog, so I hope we can leave it at that.
Come to think of it I don't know how this conversation started...I blame SamdrussBLUE.

but apply it to more than just my collection of hot, gorgeous selfies. In order to defeat potential criminals that want to take my stuff I will no longer own stuff. Take that ne'er-do-wells!

As a compromise just eat half of a lemon for us. Satiate the internet's desire to see you consume concentrated amounts of citric and ascorbic acid!

I'd agree that Woodson's hit had more physicality to it but to say Countess dragged him down isn't right. Dragging to me implies slowly stopping someone's forward momentum. Bobo didn't have a chance at forward momentum.

Thanks for the info, I'll clarify in the description for both but I will leave up The Tavern just in case others want more options beside the official watch party.

I'll throw my hat into the ring if more volunteers are needed. I love the experience of watching Michigan games at a friendly bar, I might as well contribute by helping others finding these spots as well.

I know you are being slightly facetious about the timeframe to get a beer, but the metabolism of alcohol is a much much slower process than your exaggerated example.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Stadium authorities||
The reson they agreed to sell beer during the soccer game was becasue they weren't going to get the game if they didn't agree. The soccer game was sponsored by Guiness (winter classic had MolsonCoorsas a sponsor) for Pete's sake. The money generated from holding the game, not the beer sales alone, was enough of a factor to have a one time policy change.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||Increasing the influence of outliers?||
Doesnt his approach actually increase the influence of some of the outliers? I.e. the bins with less points to average, which tend to be outliers, count the same as those bins with many more points in the final regression. Intuitively it makes sense that there should be a cluster closer to y=0 but the final plot glosses over that in favor of high R^2 with a "clean" looking plot.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||I'm not sure he would ever||
I'm not sure he would ever become part of Michigan's coaching staff based on how I read the article, if thats what you are hoping for.
He very much sounds like the kind of guy who relishes the training aspect of football lineman outside of the gameplanning and scheming of coaching. Focusing on the micro versus the macro that is left to the more traditional coaches.

"Moscow in the Hudson" is a great lesser known gem from a wonderful career. To be able to be the same enthralling actor while speaking a non native tongue as difficult as Russian is commendable.
|5 weeks 9 hours ago||That's an interesting proposition||
Re:practice performers vs game performers. I wonder if the staff is thinking along the same lines, and it is a small reason for holding an open scrimmage to help better simulate a game experience.
|6 weeks 3 days ago||If you really believe||
If you really believe millenials are a nightmare to manage you should just retire right now. IMO it takes a lot more courage to to adress the issue of why your old mamagement techniques aren't connecting with the yonger workforce as opposed to sitting back on your heels and ranting about how things used to be. Sorry for the rant (and sorry if you aren't actually managing millenials).
|6 weeks 4 days ago||I agree with you Re: arrested vs. charged||
It doesnt make sense for Brian to compare the two unless you have both the arrest rates and the charged rates, or a combined rate like your Oakland example. Also, I would say that using Oakland as a representative example of the country is not a good idea. Even if it was a representative example I dont follow your math on how athletes are being arrested/charged at the same rate as the general young male population (comparing percentages when one sample group is a subset of another is tricky).
I guess my overal point is a mistake that both you and Brian made; using someone else's statistics (which are often presented in such a way to help the original author's point) when you dont have the raw data can lead to some not-so-logical conclusions.
