As well as its implication that attending college is to futher your career. I guess I'm being overzealous in defending my idealistic veiw of my profession that really was just a tangent thought.

I appreciate the legal insight combined with just enough wit to make legal proceedings sound fun. As an engineer though I do take slight offense to the subtle jab that engineers only get engineering degrees to make money, we can enjoy our jobs too. If I wanted to get a degree only make money I would have gone for an MBA.

I personally appoint myself to scroll through this "shit" for you at a fair price of 250$/minute.

Granted the article shoves all the separation processes into one sentence without explaining it further, but it sounds like the 90% water containing manure is the raw material input to their separation train.

But being able to finish around the rim with either hand is almost a universal skill for any college level player. I'd be more surprised if he couldn't make a right handed bank shot (being a lefty) from 8 feet out.

I think the point I'm trying to make, independant of restaurants, is that most students treat anything not "on campus" as a foreign country, which is a shame.
|12 weeks 22 hours ago||I agree on the students aspect and the typical time crunch||
but my understanding of his sentence was that it applied to people who work downtown, in which case a block west of Main St is not that far.
As an aside, the attitude of students who almost abhor walking anywhere west of State St, let alone Main St has always baffled me. Downtown Ann Arbor is such a great place to explore on foot, and given the time every student should get out and about more IMO. Full disclosure, I am a townie.

but you say "west of Main St" as if it was a long journey. Its only one block....

I had the exact same "oh shit" reaction when I heard "family matter." Not necessarily because I am a midwesterner like Hoke or Erik_In_Dayton, but more because I was aware of the pending case against Gibbons. In my mind the the phrase is used exactly as you describe, to imply personal issues that could be embarrasing if aired in front of the press. Now in my, albeit cynical mind, the phrasing as well as the prior information availble screamed that Gibbons was in some shit regarding his sexual conduct.

I was contemplating writing a long diatribe on why we need to report on stories like this, but I felt like it could be said much more succinctly. You did it for me, thank you sir.

Should the athletic departments impose an open market on addtional benfits based upon contributions? I dont think so because that is entirely too drastic and unreasonable given the current state of college athletics. On the other hand if Jabrill Peppers jerseys start selling like hotcakes in Ohio is it unfair for him to have the right to negotiate for a portion of those revenues?

How would your enjoyment of your favorite musical on Broadway change if you knew that the actors were not being compensated in a fair manner for the talent that they provide?
And to your point on "the bulk of the revenue"; just because I don't generate the bulk of the revenue for my employer doesn't mean my compensation for contributions should stay the same as revenues increase. At the very least, if my employer disagrees with my desire for increased compensation I should be able to have a discussion with them to discuss the issues at hand.

1. When Coach Alexander mentions a large playbook he is not just refering to inbounding the basketball, its more about having the confidence and knowledge that all your players can run different schemes from one possesion to the next.
2. "We do a lot of standing waiting for a three." ......That is just false. There are always people moving and screening to create open looks, I dont know what team you are watching.
