conference remarks on Hoke were for the Harbaughs and the players. He said Hoke had a mastery over some aspects of the job and added that he wished he had been there earlier to help on other aspects. Besides being true it helps everyone who

|1 day 21 hours ago||Is it possible Harbaugh||
met with Oakland to see if a deal was possible and then determined it wasn't? That explains those reports, Miles comments and the heating up tonight.
|2 days 1 hour ago||Do we even know that he||
was officially a candidate? I don't know what Miles did in Ann Arbor and beyond but there remains a sphere of influence that would consider Hackett a hypocrite (based on doing things the right way) if he hired him. I've got nothing more than second hand recollections from those closer to the program. It isn't about Carr as some speculate but Bo and his guy Moeller. Hackett is of the age to know and have an opinion.
|3 days 10 hours ago||It isn't Beilein's recruiting||
recruiting failures, it's his success. With the exception of Mitch there wasn't anybody projected to be a two and done. A college team needs some program guys, some 3* types that stay 4 years. They provide the framework within to teach and develop the incoming freshmen.
Michigan isn't going to be Kentucky where they just keep reloading. JB hasn't had success because he uncovers the inner athlete but because he's able to combine basketball IQ, system and the skills they have. Right now the team seems overwhelmed.
|4 days 1 hour ago||I think this||
is wrong. Beilein needed some program guys...the type that develop and stay 4 years. You sprinkle in the stars. He was victimized by success in losing so many sophomores. The recent under the radar guys will be valuable in the long run.
|1 week 1 day ago||It will and it should...||
I don't believe it's true.
|1 week 2 days ago||And people wonder||
why players criticize or question fans. Hoke never deserved the crap spewed here. And it continues.
|1 week 3 days ago||Let's be serious.||
Harbaugh has apparently seen his style wear thin at SF. Does that mean he's also come to accept that his style is better suited for college? Or does it mean he doubles down to show the world they are wrong? Is he objective enough to know the role of a NFL front office in success, is he accomplished enough to get more than average authority with personnel decisions?
Finally, who and what does Harbaugh serve? His family? An ego that says a NFL championship is the only thing to quench its thirst? Or is it an ego that can be satisfied with college success?
Jim Harbaugh is an emotional man.
|1 week 4 days ago||My god||
are some of you pessimists. This loss will mean nothing if Michigan progresses through the season. It will be nothing more than an early season stumble by a young team against a team hitting NBA 3s even when Michigan was somewhat effective defensively. On the flip side Beilein will turn this pain to dividends.
|1 week 4 days ago||Not all kids||
have the same set of reasons for committing to any school. I do think all kids would want to know who their coach is going to be...it's beyond reasonable.
|1 week 4 days ago||The letter||
refers to RR and Hoke's first year and the difference a full buy in can mean. RR pissed off a lot of people with a number of decisions, he blew up almost the entire coaching staff and he wasn't invested in any of the themes that players and fans considered the identity of the program. It is just human nature that there would be reservations on player's parts. Having the support of fans and alum would of course provide a sense of comfort and confidence. Having said that, a leader (Martin and RR) should know that too.
|1 week 5 days ago||What a completely||
ill informed smear. Carr is well respected by players and his one time peers. The only faction on his ass are Michigan fans.
|1 week 6 days ago||This would||
make me really happy.
|1 week 6 days ago||I think that's||
wrong. I was at an event after Bo died and overheard Goss ask "now that the old man is gone can we hire Miles."
|2 weeks 3 hours ago||You've got Hackett||
all wrong if you think he's going to go begging like a spurned woman. If he wants Harbaugh he will make a deal from a position of strength.
|2 weeks 4 hours ago||From what I||
know and hear about Hackett he means what he says about no shenanigans. He wants someone whose reputation is squeaky clean. The second thing is he wants someone who can lead and won't be swallowed by the media, fans or organizational politics. Throwing around names without these considerations is perilous. The one qualifier is if he plans to stay as AD and feels he can mentor a coach (as he mentioned about Hoke).
|2 weeks 10 hours ago||No, Horford||
revealed himself in his last game in a Michigan uniform. And his parting shots further revealed him. That he couldn't flourish/excel in Beilein's system was about Horford not the system.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||I've met Hackett a few||
times and am friendly with others who know him a bit better. They would tell you there isn't any gray area with him. He's both smart and competitive...he doesn't make or accept excuses for losing the right way or winning the wrong way.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Good old Al Davis?||
|2 weeks 1 day ago||So a standard of||
integrity and ethics is a grudge? I hope to hell Hackett meant what he said today.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||I really hope||
Hackett makes an inspired choice. Part of my love and pride in the program began with the values of the staff. And yes, that included not having self-promoting coaches who used Michigan as a stop in pursuit of another dream. Maybe that's a view out-of-step with the current century...but it's more important to me than a lot of the traditions this place hated Brandon for ignoring.
I don't know enough about most of these names that are tossed around here to know if they measure up. It is troubling that it seems not to matter to many or that others think a Harbaugh should be given free reign...do we forget how that worked out with Ohio State and Penn State?
So my only hope is that Hackett's choice is inspired by ALL things that have been Michigan. At our best coaches have made themselves at Michigan.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Beilein probably||
has every characteristic Prez S would be looking for...low profile, successful, little to no drama, etc.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||How do you||
know who the top 4 candidates are?
|2 weeks 4 days ago||I am not on the||
edge of my seat. And I watched the game with a few dozen people who give a fair amount of money to the school who either don't want or don't think Harbaugh will be coming to Ann Arbor.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Playing young||
players isn't the issue. The problem is not surrounding them with seasoned veterans.

|2 weeks 4 days ago||What part of "Michigan Man"||
is poison? The part that values the traditions of the university, integrity, loyalty, the deveopment of boys into men? If Rodriguez understood and valued this concept he would have been a Michigan Man.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Are you kidding? I challenge||
anyone to read the depositions resulting from his departure from WVU and come out wanting him associated with Michigan. Hoke may not be half the coach but he's twice the man when it comes to integrity.
|3 weeks 14 hours ago||I will always||
remember him by his last game in a Michigan uniform. I don't miss him at all.
