|2 hours 4 min ago||You've got me all||
wrong. I am happy as hell about any recruit that says yes to Michigan. I am just not always amaized.
|3 hours 38 min ago||That doesn't||
register on my amazing scale...my amaizing scale won't even bother with a weigh in.
|5 hours 23 min ago||While I think||
Spike is better off the bench don't forget he's still getting over the respiratory illness and playing through an injury that will require surgery.
|18 hours 20 min ago||Beilein talked about him in||
the post game press conference. He said that his game is evolving and basically there is good and bad he's going through as he expands his game. He seems pretty optimistic about where he's going to end up. He even talked about him getting to the rim (which wasn't part of his game previously) off balance because of his long stride.
He's struggling but if it begins to click for him he will be a much more dynamic player. His defense has been a plus.
|20 hours 2 min ago||The other day ACE or somebody||
said this team lacked talent. I disagreed then and I double disagree tonight. For one thing Beilein relies on basketball IQ as much as talent. Secondly this team is just young. Imagine Doyle, MAAR and Dawkins as juniors with Walton. I like the potential of this team a lot with Beilein in charge. This is a season that will forge their identity and hunger.
|1 day 5 hours ago||It's unfortunate. I||
remember Mitch talking about coming to Michigan to change the football school perception. The Beilein recruiting critics should remember this when he loses a recruit to a basketball school.
|1 day 6 hours ago||I noticed that.||
|1 day 6 hours ago||JB seems to really||
enjoying the challenge. Maybe being freed of all expectations after Caris' injury accounts for that but I also think he knows the dividends this season will play in terms of shaping identity in seasons to come.
|1 day 17 hours ago||I absolutely||
love the Michigan Man reference. It has tied generations of players together and I couldn't stand the the desire to bury it with a marker that said history.
|1 day 17 hours ago||I miss the days||
when baseball was the national pastime. I didn't see Banks play but he was part of the conversations growing up, part of a history that guys like Harwell bridged for new generations of fans. With the passing of Banks we lose another thread.
|5 days 23 min ago||If this same group||
of freshmen and sophomores were juniors and seniors this would be a good team. It might not be an elite 8 team but it would be a sweet 16 type team.
The surprise to me this year is how poorly Walton has played...which may all be because of injury. Still, I don't remember a Beilein offense looking this out of synch, going such long stretches without getting an open shot off the action he ran. With the exception of Mitch they haven't been an overly athletic team. (I guess I could include Robinson but that wasn't featured.)
The biggest question is does this team have the basketball IQ that Beilein prizes as much as athleticism.
|1 week 1 hour ago||Well that's damn||
disappointing. Still lots to accomplish this season in terms of getting the young guys experience. Walton needs to take ownership of this team now. Beilein's system covers up a lot of athletic deficiencies but it still requires a leader.
|1 week 3 hours ago||Trey was an||
amazing player. I knew that but watching last night it was even clearer he was the heart and soul of that team. Talent is important, but talent without a mission so strong that failure will eat you alive is what makes the difference. Nobody on the current team seems to have that.
|1 week 16 hours ago||The phrase||
didn't begin with Bo.
|1 week 16 hours ago||So where do||
you get all of this up close and personal information?
|1 week 18 hours ago||Exactly. And we||
should never want it relegated to history.
|1 week 1 day ago||I am so damn||
happy he's part of the staff. I hope he one day roams the sidelines as Michigan's head coach.
|1 week 1 day ago||He has a decent||
foundation. It seems to me he's looking to fill up the class to avoid being short upperclassmen depth down the road.

with love? I suppose that works if your partner agrees to the terms but love probably isn't the right description of that currency.
|1 week 2 days ago||In my maize and||
blue tinfoil hat I think Hoke did exactly what he had to do to set the stage for Harbaugh. JH will inherit a program in much better shape than the one he turned down a few years ago.
|1 week 3 days ago||I wouldn't take||
Funchess higher than the third round. It's true he suffered through poor QB play but he didn't show the other intangibles that he'll need to succeed.
|1 week 5 days ago||Count me among||
the Beilein lovers. A basketball mind in keeping with Michigan's academic standards along with along with unquestioned ethics. I also love his road to Ann Arbor...toiling away without ever seeking the spotlight.
|1 week 5 days ago||Michigan's success||
relies on Beilein's brain and guys who can execute its design. He can sprinkle in the McGarys as he goes along.
|1 week 5 days ago||Recruit like an||
elite program? I'll take Burke over a 5* and I'll take Beilein's basketball mind, the Treys and a sprinkling of McGarys going forward.
|2 weeks 22 hours ago||I look at it more||
like they are rebuilding and it's a question if how fast they can go. Caris needs another consistent threat to do his thing. If Walton continues to get healthy, as he appeared today he showed he can work with Doyle as Morris once did with a young Morgan. Irvin won't continue to struggle, particularly if Walton and Caris are functioning at maximum level. Next up is for Chatman and Donnal to find an effective role.
I like this team going forward. A lot of 3-4 years guys getting experience will establish a great foundation.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Harbaugh may||
feel about quitters what Bo felt about being late. He gave the kid a message and the kid cowered. Harbaugh didn't quit or pout when Bo told him he'd never play a down.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||One of my all time||
Michigan favorites. I love that he's coming home, I'd love if he was the guy whose growth and accomplishments keeps seeing him in bigger roles at Michigan. If his son comes that great...but having his dad stands all on its own as being GREAT.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Definitely defense for me.||
We have not had a Michigan type defense for so many years...at least back to the English years. Mattison will be a great mentor for the new DC. And I think we will see immediate results in part because of the foundation he and Hoke built. The offense seems like more of a challenge. I do think we will see better OL and running back play in part because of experience and in part because the staff will understand you do what you do well and build from there rather than the scattershot approach of recent years.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Harbaugh is the definition||
of a Michigan Man. He is in the place he dreamed of as a child and sees football as part of a standard of excellence, a standard that he himself has said is measured in the decades that follow when you see what kind of men your players become.
Being a Michigan Man was never about where you came from. Rather than killing the identity we ought to celebrate it...it's what drew Harbaugh home.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||So where do you||
get access to Michigan's second rate goals. I'd like to read about them because the discussion here since the love affair with Barwis hasn't shown any keen knowledge.
