|14 hours 29 min ago||How good should||
"we" be missing two pretty significant seniors?
|15 hours 47 min ago||I love everything||
Beilein stands for. Hope he can add a national championship before he retires as Michigan's winningest basketball coach.
|16 hours 1 min ago||Nobody should||
ever lose faith in Beilein's basketball brain.
|2 days 11 hours ago||I agree with you||
about missing Spike and Caris. I don't think Walton can run Beilein's offense as effectively as Spike. Some of that might be due to Donnal, Robinson and MAAR's inexperience. Walton has many strengths but I don't think he sees the floor and thinks the game like Spike. Their absence has hurt. Look at what State did without Valentine.
|2 days 13 hours ago||Until now...||
at least it seems really stupid.
|3 days 9 hours ago||It was for a big||
I think and the instruction was don't foul.
|3 days 12 hours ago||Since it seems Trump's||
political activities have generated the comparison it's hard to avoid politics. Or was he comparing him to the reality show?
|3 days 20 hours ago||It puts him in what,||
the top 20% of wage earners? Now he's in the 1%?
|4 days 10 hours ago||I get that he thought||
about injury but it says a lot about him when his first instinct is his own well being.
|5 days 7 hours ago||I answered your||
question...their basketball IQ. Without Caris and Spike Beilein is running the offense through Irvin and Walton. I don't know how much MAAR, Donnal and Robinson are to blame, but the entire offense has looked horrible. It has nothing to do with athleticism. And putting their defense in constant transition situations just amplifies their problems on that end of the court.
|5 days 12 hours ago||Chatman, Irvin,||
and Walton were high 4*, Donnal and Wilson were also 4* (247). Wagner, most said, would have been at least a 4* had he played in the states. The biggest miss looks to be Chatman, the guy with the best offer list. The bigger problem is that they are missing the basketball brains of Spike, Stu, Novak, Trey and Morgan. None of these guys were great athletes.
|5 days 15 hours ago||Beilein's system||
isn't gimmicky, it just isn't working. There is no Morgan to anchor the defense and Walton cannot run the offense. (This may be a function of Robinson, MAAR and Donnal not being on the same page, but a one dimensional offense like they have is not a Beilein offense.)
|5 days 15 hours ago||Do you have information||
not available to the general public to make this determination? Was Beilein a better recruiter than Kentucky, Duke and Florida when he landed Mitch? Better than Kansas when he got Stauskas, Arizona when he got Chatman, Cal when they landed DJ Wilson, etc.
|1 week 10 hours ago||87-5...that||
is incredible. Go Blue.
|1 week 15 hours ago||Take State's top||
2 seniors out of their lineup or better yet go back and see how they did with an ailing Valentine.
|1 week 15 hours ago||Irvin, Walton, Donnal||
and Chatman were 4*.
|1 week 17 hours ago||Actually State||
is led by Seniors.
|1 week 21 hours ago||It was intentional.||
State is trying to be the button down, blue blood program that would never consider hosting such a circus. We know though that they bleed green, the color of envy.
|1 week 1 day ago||The defensive talent||
was being developed. And to some degree so was the offense in terms of reps and experience. Hoke may never have had the same yield but he deserves some credit for the seeds he planted, including a roster full of kids who love Michigan and want to win.
|1 week 1 day ago||I'm not sure||
it's his decision. Walton tried playing through an injury and ended up out for the season last year. Spike played through horrible pain which couldn't have helped last year. It seems Beilein got progressively more cautious when Caris didn't respond as quickly as they expected.
|1 week 1 day ago||Yep, September||
has that power.
|1 week 2 days ago||I hope he does||
|1 week 2 days ago||I read the RCMB||
recruiting thread last night. Most said it was MD's best class to date. And the ones that got away (Hill and Sanders) were influenced by their families and couldn't make their own decision.
|1 week 2 days ago||You handled it fine.||
From everything I've read about the recruitment you and Hackett have offered the only clues to what was responsible for the closing drama.
|1 week 3 days ago||Thanks.||
Interesting that they dangle incentives that could tarnish a kid's reputation while warning that Harbaugh is a hard ass that will push that same kid to reach his highest potential.
|1 week 3 days ago||So I'm reading||
that Clemson may have been offering incentives AND negative recruiting too? What is the negative angle they use?
|1 week 3 days ago||Most of his family||
didn't look enthused either. It was such a weird visual...it sure didn't go with the excitement I felt.
|1 week 3 days ago||I am hoping that||
the cameras made them all nervous. Or maybe my own nerves made it look that way
|1 week 3 days ago||Much better than I||
expected. There were some awkward moments but they will work those out.
|1 week 3 days ago||This offsets||
the random guy who said he told Clemson he's headed there. All even now.
