|1 day 12 hours ago||Yes, I thought||
she was safe too. I'll take it though. Heck of a throw.
|1 day 16 hours ago||That doesn't||
make sense. If they are replacing Walton and/or Caris and/or Irvin, there openings. The backups are irrelevant, particularly when they aren't highly ranked/recruited kids waiting their turn. The only trouble could be if one of these guys blew up in some unimaginable way as freshmen. And if that happens, I will be less worried about 2015 recruiting.
|1 day 16 hours ago||Come on,||
are they going to be afraid of lightly recruited late singees? Michigan needs some "program" guys.
|1 day 17 hours ago||So when you||
looked at the tape could you see passion for the game, coachability, basketball IQ, desire to be in Ann Arbor or any of the other qualities all of Michigan's coaches cite as having a large role in their success?
Blind trust would be what I gave Beilein when he brought Stu and Novak to Ann Arbor over some available guys that looked better on tape. I'd call your cynicism blind before second guessing Beilein now. That doesn't mean I think the kid will amount to anything more than a program plus whatever his role or playing time.
|3 days 8 hours ago||Alexander said on Nik and||
Glenn's announcement day that "I would hope so" when asked if Mitch was returning. He seemed to know he was returning. Obviously if it was a sure thing we would know by now. It seems, given Robinson's comments, Beilein wants a player to have both feet in, whatever his decision and by most accounts Mitch isn't there yet.
My guess has been that Mitch would return but had some doubts. At this point though I don't know.
|3 days 15 hours ago||I wouldn't feel||
like a late first round pick projection is a solid ticket. Beilein is right, you should go to the NBA because you're ready, not because of a projection. If Mitch believes in his heart he is ready then part of that should be based on his belief that he can compete at that level and make a roster.
|4 days 9 hours ago||I am happy||
Trey isn't with the joke of an organization that the Pistons have become.
|4 days 9 hours ago||To my eye||
Caris has the most pro potential of the Beilein recruits to date. He's clearly a humble kid who has not thought of himself as a star. If he embraces that role next season watch out. He's a guy who can score in multiple ways, facilitate, run the floor and come up with big defensive plays and rebounds. Like I said watch out...Michigan has not had a player in the Beilein era with the potential to imprint a game in so many ways.
|5 days 35 min ago||I remain optimistic.||
Max's last minutes of the season were better than Horford's. I think of him as a throwback to the days when underclassmen did their time on the bench.
|5 days 15 hours ago||He does want||
to play SF but I don't think he has been a better option than the guys playing that spot the last two years. And I am not sure he would be next year either had he stayed.
|5 days 16 hours ago||The "D" league||
is definitely awful especially for guys accustomed to the bright lights of great college runs. I really hope Robinson avoids that fate and lands with a good organization.
|6 days 8 hours ago||Why would he||
be any better identifying talent late? He's had some recent good luck with Caris and Spike, with assists from Burke's parents, Robinson and Mitch. Still, Beilein doesn't pass out offers easily at any time.
|6 days 9 hours ago||Wilson isn't a guard.||
Wilson isn't a guard.
|6 days 13 hours ago||Man I hope||
you're right about Mitch.
|6 days 18 hours ago||Given that they are||
close friends I would have to think it's some consideration for Mitch. I don't know, I give up. Horford's comments left a bitter taste in my mouth. As fans we love them all and admire Beilein. Horford painted something else where they second guess and have periods of doubt.
I wish them all well.
|6 days 20 hours ago||That's what||
you get out of the report? An alleged rapist is expelled after being allowed to walk the campus for years and your take away is that Brady Hoke lied? I agree, Hoke should have simply said he's no longer on the team but it's so damn immaterial if one cares even a bit for the victim or is concerned with a process that can use a standard beneath that of the law.
There are a lot of issues raised in this report, Brady Hoke is not one of them. Well, unless one thinks optics are more important than substance.
|1 week 19 hours ago||3-0 Michigan||
in the 4th with Spartans coming to bat. The Wolverine's lineup is just stacked.
|1 week 1 day ago||This type of||
hand slap always gets me. I see plenty of cheap shots here on game and post game threads about kids who actually are active players. And these kids have not gone to the press or otherwise teed themselves up beyond their play. That brothers me a hell of a lot more. Do you police that too?
|1 week 1 day ago||Simple answer...||
if he stayed there was the hope he might do one thing consistently well in terms of rebounding and/or defense. Reading that he's frustrated over his lack of opportunities on the offensive end given his all around deficiencies leads to the criticisms.
|1 week 2 days ago||I am kind of||
surprised to read this. For no good reason I thought he was moving on. I wish him the best of luck. Hope he gets a nice contract...a just return for all of his hard work.
|1 week 2 days ago||Beilein recruits||
basketball IQ, passion for the game, desire to be in Ann Arbor, etc. If he tells a prospect he'd like him to visit and the kid doesn't want to it's probably enough said.
|1 week 2 days ago||If I were to||
compare their last minutes on the court I'd give the nod to Max over Horford. The latter was horrible against Kentucky on the defensive end and couldn't even seem to set a pick on the other end. I'm not all certain that Max can't emerge to become a solid contributor. Ideally that would be behind Mitch but that doesn't seem likely to me.
|1 week 2 days ago||I'm sorry to have||
to agree. If he rebounded really well, defended really well or executed the pick and roll really well I think he would have seen more minutes. I get needing some minutes to gain confidence but you get minutes by doing something well, something to offset maybe a weaker part of your game.
All of this makes me love Morgan more. He returned without hanging his head when he looked to be out of the rotation conversation. Whatever his limitations h did all of that after having been an all conference defender and being a big part of some team success.
|1 week 2 days ago||Weird article.||
On the one hand he's bashing and on the other loving the coaches. Between his injuries and inconsistent play I am not sure what he thinks he deserves on a team with Michigan's recent success. Regardless, bashing the program for bigs is a shitty thing to do on his way out.
|1 week 3 days ago||I have no idea||
what Horford feels about basketball. His lack of progress on a team coached by a guy known for maximizing talent is concerning though. And Beilein would credit those transformations to work ethic and basketball IQ.
|1 week 3 days ago||Max was hardly||
playing a lot of minutes. Burning a red shirt for those minutes would have been ill advised. Horford, on the other hand, played himself into fewer and fewer minutes. Sure it's worrisome that he won't be there because at least then there is the hope of improvement. It was as worrisome though that Michigan was going to rely on him next season. He showed very little consistent proficiency on either end of the court. Hopefully he transfers to a school with a more traditional offense.
|1 week 3 days ago||You have no||
more idea than anyone else. I am not sure how many people in the weeks and months after the accident were certain he would come as far as he has so far.
|1 week 3 days ago||I would be||
shocked if he stayed. His dad's comments and these rumors aren't untrue they are just outside of the process that I believe JB advocates.
Speaking of Beilein, I thought he had the best comment yesterday. He said you should go the NBA because you are ready, not because it's a dream or because of a draft projection. Hard to argue when you see the number of players who both don't have much of a career and are all but bankrupt after a few years.
|1 week 5 days ago||It seems to me||
the thing that matters most is "win the game(s)." This incessant back and forth to do one thing because this isn't the 70s anymore and don't do this other thing because this is Michigan and we don't progress that way, is restlessness with a stalled program. At one moment the AD is a money grubbing soulless capitalist and at the next he's a damn fool for failing to engineer an event that puts 50,000+ at spring practice.
I personally don't care about anything but "win the game(s)." When you win a good deal of this stuff that's driving people nuts become objects of affection.
|1 week 5 days ago||I agree, Caris||
had some great nights. To my way of thinking he is potentially the best pro prospect Beilein has produced in terms of number of things he does well. One more off season of improvement and look out.
