|16 hours 23 min ago||I actually skipped my||
graduation ceremony because of the speaker.
|22 hours 47 min ago||What material||
difference does it make if a guy develops into a two--three year contributor or comes to Ann Arbor for year?
|1 day 1 hour ago||Have you watched||
the kind of teams that South Carolina and Oregon have shutdown? Beilein's offense was much better suited to cope with Oregon than Kansas' proved to be.
|1 day 23 hours ago||They needed||
Irvin's defense and leadership.
|2 days 15 min ago||By all accounts||
Simpson came to college with a high basketball IQ and above average leadership qualities. I think what we saw this season was a kid who recognized what he didn't know and often played tentatively. I think we will see someone much different next season as his command of the playbook improves.
|2 days 53 min ago||OT What happened||
to the Livers thread?
|2 days 14 hours ago||Well that takes a PG who can||
recognize and call the right play. Walton managed that better than national player of the year finalist Mason. Walton went for 20, with 5 rebounds and 8 assists. He went 6-10, 3-5 on threes. Mason put up 21, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. He was 8-20, 2-8 on threes.
|2 days 15 hours ago||I don't think Oregon is||
lucky. . Their defensive switching messed up Michigan and Kansas.
|3 days 2 hours ago||He's one of the few conference||
players I always wished was a Wolverine. I think he would have been even better in Beilein's system.
|4 days 1 hour ago||You could just||
as well argue that it wasn't fatigue that cost DJ the bunny or block out. I really can't fault him for sitting Wilson. Oregon would have targeted him.
Beilein talked about the timeout. He was saving it for the anticipated Oregon foul. I think it was a smart call. Oregon would have just fouled on the inbound, taking more off the clock. Walton got a great look, in rythym.
|4 days 4 hours ago||During the Michigan radio||
broadcast it was brought up once that the bench was telling Moe to get his head into the game and another time that Donlon was screaming at Moe for a defensive lapse. He wasn't having a good game on either end of the court.
|4 days 16 hours ago||It was Wilson who didn't||
block out. Wagner wouldn't have made any difference.
|4 days 16 hours ago||The radio guys commented the second half that||
Donlon was just screaming at Wagner over his defense. I'd have to go back and look but it seems to me that the defense started getting stops when Wagner went to the bench.
|4 days 17 hours ago||That timeout did not cost Michigan||
the game. Beilein expected Oregon to foul again. Oregon almost cost themselves for not giving that foul, it was the most expected play of the night.
|5 days 1 hour ago||Even if ghostwritten,||
Moe's eye and ear for the world come through here. And his eye and ear are decidedly different from average.
|6 days 18 hours ago||With a few more||
inches Walton could be a Billups-like guard. I hope like heck Walton gets a chance but I fear without the quicks or height he will be passed. On the other hand, a Beilein product (generally good citizen, above average work ethic, high basketball IQ) might earn at least a shot.
|6 days 22 hours ago||When Wilson||
was asked if he was returning to Michigan he said he hoped so. When pressed on the NBA he said he hadn't even thought about that. A day later it's reported he said he was 50-50. I don't know about that.
|1 week 1 hour ago||I can't listen||
to the entire podcast right now but I wonder if he gives much, if any, credit to Beilein for his development. Anger and frustration often come right before a confirming breakthrough. In what I did hear of the latest podcast it's clear that he's his own man on his own path.
|1 week 2 hours ago||Donlon has mentioned||
that a number of NBA teams seek out Beilein to talk offense. So many of Beilein's critics are stuck on a version of the game that has passed its prime.
|1 week 2 hours ago||Fortunately he wouldn't||
likely be interested.
|1 week 1 day ago||Wrong, wrong, wrong.||
Trump would show no such restraint.
|1 week 1 day ago||I so much want||
to say Beilein can't recruit but I won't.
|1 week 1 day ago||I'm not sure he's ever||
had this combination of offensive talent in the front court.
|1 week 1 day ago||I listened to a bit of||
Izzo's post-game presser. He said he doesn't care about wins, he cares about getting his team to the tourney for the experience, or some such crap. Contrast that to Beilein who says all he wants to do is mentor and teach and if he does that well the wins and championships follow.
|1 week 1 day ago||Mo was a non-factor||
in the Oklahoma State game. I sincerely think he needs to work on his defense. And I don't think DJ said he's 50-50. When asked if he was returning he said I hope so. When pressed about the NBA he said he hadn't even thought about that.
|1 week 1 day ago||Thanks for||
saying what I dare not. Beilein is the kind of cerebral type coach I love and a perfect fit for Michigan.
|1 week 2 days ago||John Beilein||
continues to be all that is good and right about college sports.
|1 week 2 days ago||They are||
the difference between a Louisville 1 or 2 bucket lead and a 3 or 4 bucket lead. Why should Michigan have to play 2 opponents?
|1 week 3 days ago||Dakich gets a lot of||
credit from the staff for his input. Apparently he has coaching aspirations. Would be interesting if they could get him to stick around for a 5th year and beyond.
|1 week 3 days ago||So Harbaugh is blaming the||
administration for Crean being 20 games under .500 in conference play over his tenure? How about the span of off court problems and player dismissals? To me he just sounds silly, especially for a guy who claims to believe in meritocracy and hands out firm handshakes.
