...says Denzel Valentine of Big Ten Tourney favorite MSU, which is 5-7 in its last 12 games. Cumong, man.

|9 hours 4 min ago||The difference from||
last year is we are missing 3 starters. Michigan has had a hell of a season under the circumstances. They send out 3 sophomores, a freshman and a senior who was slotted as a backup to start the season. Their bench is even younger.
|17 hours 6 min ago||So this is||
why State can push off and hook to get to the bucket without a foul?
|17 hours 10 min ago||State led its||
last two opponents by almost 20 at the half...9 is much more manageable.
|17 hours 24 min ago||The refs||
have ruined this game. Sitting Morgan and Horford early was assured hell.
|21 hours 24 min ago||And to be fair||
Sr. also mentioned that Jordan was inhibited by the college structure. Ultimately though the game is about winning and Jr. said the sacrifices took them to the national championship game. Beilein has talked about the balance of learning when to run a play and when to be a player. I actually think he's learning how to coach to that as much as his players are learning when to make that decision.
Yesterday Caris was supposed to be flying back on defense when he decided to crash the boards and come up with the critical last rebound. He says he made the decision because his man wasn't boxing out. JB says it would have been a defensive disaster had Ohio come up with the ball because Michigan didn't have enough men back.
|1 day 11 hours ago||I honestly think||
JB's in Izzo's head. I think this game has even more to do with Izzo's ego than usual. He knows what JB's teams have done to his the last few years, he knows this was to be his season with an experienced team led by two seniors and he knows he's lost his recruiting touch.
I am betting what JB sees as a great opportunity Izzo sees as a matter of near life and death. This kind of pressure should do wonders for his demeanor and threatening, in your face approach with his players.

ass teams don't accomplish what Michigan has this season.

behind the scenes look. To me Stauskas really came into his own when he refused to be defended. He gave in too easily to Duke and Indiana (first game). Seeing now how much time he's invested in the role of his mind makes perfect sense.

Robinson were likely tempted by the possibility of being lottery picks. Wanting to play in the NBA doesn't mean they don't have some terms.
|1 week 8 hours ago||Poor writing on my||
part. I don't think it's his health that is responsible for the mess he seems to be.
|1 week 10 hours ago||I think he has looked and||
I think he has looked and sounded awful since the beginning of the year. It's true, he's had some tough injuries to deal with but is that enough to make him sound so deeply depressed? I would think it would be just the opposite, a tough stretch with a valid explanation and some more upbeat press conferences knowing that he would be getting guys back.
I'm not going to speculate about his health but he sounds and acts like an emotional mess under some kind of additional stress.
|1 week 13 hours ago||She was a jerk?||
That's all he's got?
I wonder what's eating at Tom. The fact Michigan is passing him by? The fact the football team stole his spotlight? Something else?
|1 week 14 hours ago||I caught a bit of||
Izzo's post-game radio comments. The guy once again sounded horrible, deeply depressed horrible. Is he always this inconsolable after a loss or something going on that is bothering him? He did manage to find his voice when asked about the impact of having so many injuries. Guess what? He said having guys sitting because of foul trouble was like not being at full strength.

I really hope Jordan sees/hears at least some of the respect and love he's getting from Michigan fans. I can't be in Ann Arbor tomorrow. For those who can be...make him feel it for and from all of us.
|1 week 2 days ago||Great writing. I hope he||
gets the same big time love tomorrow night. A Jor-dan Mor-gan, Jor-dan Mor-gan chant could be a beautiful thing. I am convinced upon repeated chants one is fully delivered from the dark days.

a 14 game win streak seems less doable than a 6 game streak. Yeah, Louisville did that and more last season but I like Michigan's chances at a shorter streak better.
|1 week 3 days ago||The conference||
tournament seems like a trap. It looks like it would add to a win streak that would look unsustainable through the dance. Bowing out early and getting ready for another win streak sounds like a better bet.

quote. Reread the book again last summer...it remains relevant for these timeless insights.
|1 week 4 days ago||You guess||
the Wolverines are more buttoned up? It's not even close. For a few years the rumor was that Beilein couldn't get along with his stars (Morris and Harris). JB is a tough coach who demands things be done his way. I don't think if Jalen and the gang were looking for a place to "shock the world" they would have chosen Ann Arbor.
|1 week 5 days ago||It's hard to||
talk about the Stauskas effect without first talking about the Beilein effect. His ability to find the guys with a brain and passion for the game and then grow them is phenomenal. Add to that his ability to modify his offense to fit the talent he has. After 4-5 years of being a PG-centric offense the 2013-14 team shifted almost seamlessly.
As for Stauskas, I have been most impressed by his recent play. He has gone from "pretty boy" offense to toughness...willing to fight for his spot and shot and then able to make contested shots.
|1 week 5 days ago||Injuries. Got it.||
I wonder if they noticed Mitch is still out and Morgan sat almost the entire game. Still Michigan destroyed Illinois on their floor.
Magnets? Got it. Apparently not only do they suck balks through the nets but they also have sucked the life out of Izzo and his program.
|1 week 5 days ago||I never bash||
Kelly. The guy learned to play almost every position in order to get a shot in the big leagues. He's more than competent in 5 of them. You have to be a pretty damn good athlete to do that. He did what it took to live his dream. Gotta respect that.
|1 week 6 days ago||I don't think||
he'll be "creating" his own shot in the NBA. He doesn't have the handle, strength or quicks. To me the question is can he improve or is he destined to be a 3P shooter who helps spread the floor.
And while it's popular to say they don't play defense in the NBA there is sort of a range that goes from All Star game awful to championship better. Stauskas has to improve.
|1 week 6 days ago||They will||
miss Morgan's experience and basketball IQ. He's a captain and team leader.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Sorry to repeat the||
myself (from other Morgan comments) but the fact he came back after losing his confidence and minutes says so much about him. The fact that he did so saying he wanted to contribute any way he could says even more. The fact he was voted captain says it's not just some fans who notice what kind of man he is.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Does it get any||
better (in sports) than having a coach and team you love win?
They just said that the '89 team members who were there joined the current team in singing the Victors after the game. Damn cool. Add THJ and Burke's parents at the State game...seems like family to me Jalen.

significant details in order to conclude that the cases are alike. One of the two has a witness, a victim who wanted charges to be filed and who filed a federal complaint. One of the two had a nationally known attorney become involved. One of the two resulted in the formation of a group that protested the handling.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||The decision||
not to prosecute was controversial. Spartan fans best hope their school didn't influence that decision.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||You are exactly right.||
The AA case is not like the EL case. The latter had a witness, as you point out, and a victim/supporters who wanted charges brought.
I heard a few years ago that this was going to blow up and that Izzo was implicated. My understanding was either the victim or another group was pursuing legal action. I heard this from someone I was told was a fairly well connected EL booster. When nothing happened I figured he wasn't as connected as I was led to believe.

push it to see if the defense was set. When he saw nothing there he called timeout.
