That 87 yard run....

That 87 yard run by Robinson gives me shivers.  I'm pumped for next year.  Whatever the offense may be.

Finally...

Finally a coaching staff that is keeping the best in-state players where they belong.  Looks like a player that given some time, can be a solid DB.  Plus local coaches are going to be high on pushing their players to Hoke.

Solid player given the time

Watching the highlight reel, this kid looks like a solid addition who can contribute in 2 years of being in the S&C program and learning in the program.  He showed his motor going all the time and didn't quit on any plays.  Plus I like the idea of recruiting in OSU's backyard again.

Any one in the mood for pancakes...

Imagine watching games again when we were the team delivering the pancake blocks.

A class act...

This kid is a class act, and his humbleness is refreshing.   He is showing his teammates and future players how to persevere in hard times.  He's acting out the definition of leadership. Good Job and Best wishes young man.

Lightening strike!

That was like watching a lightening strike, totally awesome memory!

Monster TE...

That kid is a monster TE.  I think  at 6'7" he would be a nightmare for a DB or linebacker to cover, just throw it up for grabs in the back of the end zone!

Musical chairs...

Some of these players may want to make a decision soon, or there may not be a seat left for them when the music stops!  It's a great sign for our program.

I'm waiting for more details to come out...

I'm waiting(secretely hoping) for more details to come out about TP and the other OSU players who were involved in this mess.  My theory is that an agent was buying this stuff behind the scenes, in exchange for the players signing with him when they decide to turn pro.  Then the agent gives back the rings, etc.  Tressel then feels the heat turned up!

Talent like that...

Talent like that would be an unbelievalble addition to this team.  Obviously being the defensive MVP of an all-star game says it all for his defensive skills, and would suit our needs.  But I bet he'd be a tank at WR if he's got the speed to get open and the hands.  It might be fun seeing a WR get YAC by running over DB's.   Please oh please commit to U of M.

Christmas came early...

I do believe Christmas came early for me when I heard then news about TP and OSU.

I'm really OK with...

I'm really Ok with whatever stereotypes that the media wants to say about the Big Ten as a conference, as long as ...OSU and MSU gets the snot kicked out of them

and MICHIGAN spanks Miss. State. (Please God)

Then let the media spew their crap, but I'll have a happy winter.

Right on the money

You were right on the money on grading the running backs (B-).  If that group improves and we add the talent that we are recruiting to the bunch, it could take our offense to even higher level. Think Oregon. If one or two of the backs can separate themselves, and we show more speed and power, then defenses have to worry about one more home run threat. Nice position to be in for upcoming seasons.

Your welcome!

Your welcome!

which interview...

Yes, and I'm sure he was whipped from the game, but come on, he couldn't have been less interested when asked the question about Michigan.

We are Harts back up

Just watched an interview of Dee Hart.  HIs body language and responses say it all.  He is going to Florida.  His only interest in Michigan is like a guy getting a back-up date for the prom, until the girl he wants to take is available.  He appears to be a "me" guy, not a team player.  We will be better off without him.

Before I go to heaven...

1) Michigan kicks the snot out of OSU in crossover game

2) Michigan kicks the snot out of OSU in Big Ten title game the next week.

3) All the newspaper writers and TV analysts that have piled on this program for 3 years are kissing our ass, and praising how bad ass we look.

4) Michigan wins the National Championsip in a total destruction of some traditional power that always has a top 5 recruiting class.  Lets use Texas.

5) The Lions win the Super Bowl and we see Suh raising the Lombardi Trophy in a sea of confetti.

Need time to mold Big Ten size with SEC speed

I think Barwis has had a great impact on the S&C of our players so far.  If you consider that we mostly have freshman and sophomores making up our two deep in most positions, with a couple of juniors and an occasional senior thrown in for good measure, they have looked well conditioned.  Most are undersized, due to not having an opportunity to red-shirt for a year, then come up through the ranks and play as juniors and seniors, as is usually the case in major college football.  If RR stays, and can build depth and talent to the roster, I definitely think Barwis can mold these guys into Big Ten size with SEC speed.

Very excited about the win, but a lot to fix

I'm very excited about the win (everything tasted better at dinner), but there is a whole lot for this coaching staff to fix and improve with time.  I would retain RR,  but not Robinson, for the sole fact that his defense lacks good basic fundamentals.  We can't fix the fact that there young on defense, experience and the addition of some more talent will help.  But poor tackling and confusion in the player responsibilities is a coaches job to straighten out.  Dido for special teams fundamentals.

Give this team some time to mature.

I think given some time and a little more talent on both sides of the ball, plus a new d coordinator, this team could go far in the BCS over the next several seasons.  These kids are going to be very experienced upper classman.   With better recruits added, I think RR gets a lot of wins and fans will forget the rocky start.  GO BLUE!

Don't overlook BGSU passing game

I caught part of the BGSU vs. Marshal game.  "BGSU had a good receiver (#19) that ate Marshal up in the intermediate routes.  If we play 15 yards off of the receivers, they will get a lot of first downs, and keep our D on the field (think Toledo game).

Getting ready for BGSU

BGSU will not be a push over.  I watched there game vs Marshal, their offense had a great short passing game, which eats its way down field a little at a time (#19 has a ton of catches.) Think Toledo game a few years ago.  Lots of 8 -10 yard routs, and our DB's playing 15 yards off the ball.  Makes for a long day, if you don't play those routes tight.

This week will need to be about re-focusing on the little things.  Special teams practice should be first and foremost.  We all know the field goal kicking is awful, and needs to be worked out by practice.  The punt and kickoff return units lack any "pop", plus sloppy ball handling and poor decisions, will catch up with them.  Kickoff  unit was slow getting to the ball, and a fast returner in the big ten will make them pay.  D line need to pressure the QB, utilizing some stunts on obvious passing downs and an occasional blitz would be nice.  DB's are young, but need to lay the wood to some folks.  If you give up the catch, at least pop them so they know you were there.

I can't believe we won but looked so bad, as for UMASS, if they played in the MAC, they would be in the top 2 for sure.  Great effort from them.
