As a nerd this photo offends me. Not the car part, but the part where their trailer lists three student project teams and... ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers). Why does their ASCE student chapter need a trailer??

Unless it was for the ASCE Steel Bridge team. Maybe their steel bridge team got the death penalty and needed to be painted over.

PS: Michigan's steel bridge team won the National Championship in 2003. Good times. And yes, our hard hats had wings.

I hear there's a few spots available on the Michigan sideline.

Will the bars mentioned as…

Will the bars mentioned as likely to be "packed" and/or "fill up early" be that way this weekend? I'm new here,  so I don't know if the town clears out on holiday weekends.

Thanks for the advice, all!

Thanks for the advice, all!

Andi - Sets  of 4 are definitely more prevalent.  We're shooting for the cheapest available,  but that might still be close to $200 with the fees for corner seats up high. Email me if you're interested: vitekm /at/ gmail

The other two are PSU fans (I know,  I know), and are getting a little antsy, so we might buy soon. Maybe.

General stadium question:

General stadium question:

Do seat numbers align across rows? I need 3 tickets,  which is apparently a crap number to get.  I'm considering getting a pair in one row and a third in the adjacent row.  E.g. assuming seat 11 in row 80 is close to seat 11 in row 81.

Transit planner

The engineer/planner who designs public transportation routes, determining alignments and the stop locations.

As a kid, I though I would like to be a garbage man or mail man. For a future, unpaid retirement, I might honestly like to walk around the city picking up litter and recyclables.

Thanks, good to know. Sounds

Thanks, good to know. Sounds much more convenient, and less stabby, than coordinating and meeting up with an individual seller.

How does the StubHub ticket

How does the StubHub ticket pickup work? Do you pick it up from the individual seller or is 10th St some sort of established location for Verizon Center tickets? I wanted to go to the Wings game when they were here a few weeks back, but couldn't easily find out how to get tickets if they weren't instant downloads (and realizing the Wings had no chance of winning didn't help my motivation).

More impressed by that, or

More impressed by that, or the fact that it appears the driver is a panda?

So obviously the correct

So obviously the correct thing for Michigan to do on the onsides kick would be to actually recover the ball, but then intentionally fumble, allowing MSU to recover and advance for a TD that would still not win the game? Thereby reinforcing that going for 2 was just silliness?

late late reply

No worries, I totally know how that goes. I work more with people in our Abu Dhabi office than people who sit 15 feet away from me.

office

Do you by chance work out of their Chicago or Detroit offices? Just wondering what the vibe in those places is like in case a general civil or transportation planner opening shows up some day.

Milk

I swear I've never seen someone drink a glass of milk in my eight years here. Except when it snows, then you look at the milk aisle and it seems everyone is a newborn calf.

Although I did see two young ladies at the Navy Yard Harris Teeter checking out with no less than 15 bottles of wine and nothing else. That's good disaster prep.

O gauge

ugh, O gauge. Give me N or GTFO.

31-27 M

31-27 Michigan. And we get 14 of those points via safeties.

In a

In a row?

burglary

From my time sitting on a jury once, burglary is entering a building to commit a crime, it need not be thievery.

For example, the Hamburgler doesn't always steal hamburgers, sometimes he just commits insurance fraud.

chupacabra

I got a stuffed toy goat. I'm going to hollow it out, put my beverage in the hollowed out body with a straw and go as a chupacabra. Might go all out and wear some vampire fangs.

20-11 Michigan.

southwest

If Southwest airlines is a reasonable option for your airport, and you don't mind their seating practice, you could purchase tickets for multiple flights. Then when you know which flight is best based on the game time (and potential traffic on I-94), cancel the other flights without penalty. Worst case you end up with credit instead of an actual refund.

I'll be there in section 308

I'll be there in section 308 for my first Michigan game in seven years and first ever road game. I might sound like the worst fan ever, but my buddy bailed because he and his wife are having a baby. Terrible timing. Go Blue!

If any of the pictures of

If any of the pictures of Dantonio I've seen are his "happy face", I'd hate to see his sour face.

i was watching the game on my phone so i could be wrong, but didn't Datsyuk's shot involve the puck being pulled back/not moving forward? Didn't go in so not a big deal I guess.

good thing countess is only a freshman?

INT on 4th down and I... jizz in my pants*. GO BLUE!!

*metaphorically speaking of course.

His wife may be angry if you had missed the wedding, but i bet she'll be more angry when you are forced to bring a radio to the ceremony to listen to the game and accidentally forget your headphones.

I'm going to say sure why not? its just fun to say "rrrrrutgerrrrrs".

plus with all this talk of market share, what does a minnesota actually contribute (this is actually a honest question which i admittedly know nothing about)?

Those helmets themselves are OK

Those helmets themselves are OK (the school behind them, not so much). That being said, I don't think the problem with changing uniforms is the change itself, it's just that so many of the changes are too wacky. "If the recruits like them, I'm OK with them" is thrown around a lot, but I doubt recruits like new crap uniforms over great, albiet old and stale, uniforms. I'm a full NINE years removed from freshman year, so maybe I'm too old, but I can't imagine that even back then I would have enjoyed our Mt. Dew Bengals jerseys. A jersey change once or twice a year is no big deal if it's done well. But not when the alternate jerseys/helmets/turf are the equivalent of the file "test.bmp" that is sitting on your desktop from when you first learned how to use Paint and used every tool all at once.

I prefer Ciccarelli. But for

I prefer Ciccarelli. But for you, I would say get a Paul Ysebaert jersey.

Dave Brandon is probably the guy that needs to stop being so concerned about jerseys.

Come on

But the odds of him winning free french fries from McDonald's...

NHL Gamecenter

Have you ever used the NHL Gamecenter for Wings games? I bought it last two years, but the quality and speed is disappointing. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong. My internet is fast enough I think, but the stream quality  make it almost not worth it (especially since if a Wings' game is on something like CBC (which I do not get in DC), it is still consdered blackout worthy)

I doubt Hoke would allow

I doubt Hoke would allow himself to be caught wearing a vest. Even if he was wearing said vest only for the purposes of playing things close to it.

stuffed squirrel

Go to your local taxidermist and have them create a mount of a squirrel burying him. Add a winged helmet to the squirrel if you want to get cute with it.

good work

I sure do like me some 300 Violins. Now if we can just get some more highlights that those of us who graduated in the 21st century can remember seeing in person, we'll be all set.

Shoelaces

He should have yellow shoelaces.

Different stroke

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I definitely enjoy city life, but if that's not your cup of tea, I can see why you wouldn't like DC. Agree on the weather - the summer are pretty terrible. But terrible traffic keeps me employed and not having a car keeps me away from it in the first place, so I can't complain. If it's any consolation, I can't see why people keep moving to suburbs either.

I don't do any alumni activities, but I definitely do need to make it to Buffalo Billiards a couple times this season.

That'd be worse than if he

That'd be worse than if he never sat him in the first place.

Both are nice

I live in the city and I really enjoy it. NoVa would be a great place to live, too. In my opinion, the problem with living here IS the people that visit. Walking all slow and standing on the escalators and what not.

Detroit can't get its light rail soon enough...

I bet Dantonio would say Hart

I bet Dantonio would say Hart would make that list.
