The Machine

I always thought of Michigan as a well oiled machine that at some point in time would need a little maintenance performed. Worst case scenario, I expected The Machine to bog down a few times and after overhauling it, it would run much smoother and perform as it has for the past 128 years. However, The Machine's blueprints called for specific handler's to run it. Now, The Machine is being run by new technicians and will have to burn a new memory in itself as it has had to in the past. The Machine will be bogging down and running on it's lowest gear as it learns how to perceive the newest data that's being entered by these technicians. The Machine will be up and running full speed by the start of the 2010 season and will be housed in its newly renovated storage facility. Next scheduled appointment/overhaul won't be for another fifty years by the current mileage on the odometer. Although, The Machine's operator's have been known to screw that timetable up from time to time.

3:30 can't get here fast

3:30 can't get here fast enough. I for one am sick and tired of having to read and post what I think is going to happen. I'm just as guilty as the next man or lady. I have never been this jacked for Michigan football in my 28 years of life. Although my 5-0 record of attending Michigan/Ohio State games is right there. When I pee I see maize, when I see construction projects I think of the Big House renovation, when I see references to the war in Iraq, now I'm just babbling about nonsense. I can't stop thinking about Michigan and I'm worried. This from a guy who witnessed last years opening day debacle and tried to Google Lloyd Carr's address albeit drunk, to let him know how I felt. Thankfully I didn't act out my thoughts on that one. Go Blue.

Oh...

Come to school to play ball.

Utah – Rich game plans for

Utah – Rich game plans for ball control and tough defense. Lower scoring game, 17-10 Michigan.

Miami – Beanie Bowl plus 100,000 fans equals whipping.

Notre Dame – U of M dismantles N.D. all the while becoming a tight, cohesive team.

Wisconsin – Michigan isn't playing at Camp Randall Stadium. Huge first test for the coaching staff's schemes. If Michigan can stay healthy and improve they win.

Illinois – At The Big House, which is shedding the quietest 100,000 moniker at this point of the season. Home field finally takes over games. Michigan victory.

Toledo – Unless it's 1970 again and Mel Long isn't roaming sideline to sideline a Michigan dismantling is in the books. Beware of possible betting scandals with UT players.

Penn State – MICHIGAN doesn't lose to Penn State...PERIOD!

Michigan State – State will always remain the little brother, Michigan rolls on to their 8th consecutive W.

Purdue – The coaching staff and players give Joe Tiller a perfect retirement gift of half a hundred.

Minnesota – Min...huh...sota gives the Wolverines their 10th victory.

Northwestern – Smart student athletes vs. smart student athletes with much, much more talent. UM victory.

Ohio State – 1969 kind of. Michigan win.

Maybe I did this with too much heart. Wisky, Penn St. and the Bucks are looming large on my radar as losses. Time will only tell.

My Bad

Winged G I did mean to use the 11th hour phrase but wrote the diary with 19 hours to go before the game. Should have clarified that.

Agreed

Speed kills. And I finally get to witness it as a Michigan fan. The Big Ten better adapt to Michigan's newfound SEC Speed or forever lay in it's dust. The Big Ten, Utah and Notre Dame all will be taking their shots at U of M this year, thinking they'll be "down". The following quote of Bob Ufer resonated with me, "Oh They Came to Bury Michigan, But Michigan Wasn't Dead"! Go Blue.
