Fun fact, I did not know minnesota students also called their school UofM until I met some in chicago.

3 weeks 7 hours ago Honestly, as much as I want

Honestly, as much as I want to see competitive balance, it's not something you are going to reorganiez for in the future and it's hard to do.  Who knows how Penn State is going to do through their scholarship reductions?  Is Michigan State in a mid-upper tier of hte big ten?  What about Northwesterh who appears to be on the rise?

I think the picking of winners and losers is tough and a bit shortsighted on a competitive balance aspect, though geographic exposure is a fair argument.  I would also agree that certain programs may value football more (nebraska) than say basketball for other schools (Indiana) and so they will be more likely to stay in a mid-upper range than drop out, but it's just hard to tell.

I'm just glad Michigan and Ohio are in the same region.  Being in the Chicago area, it sucks that I won't see them out here as often, but I suppose it was bound to happen unless the eye was chosen for the realignment.

4 weeks 4 days ago Just wanted to get this in

Just wanted to get this in here, but anyone who works in the chemical industry is taught that they should NOT try to help in situations like this unless they are part of the response team.

With the unknown circumstances and the potential for toxic gases, you could just be creating another victim if you run in there.  Every safety training says you call for help and you get out.  There have been multiple situations where someone has run in and died trying to help their friend.

I live in "ND territory" i suppose being in Chicago.  Aside from "END SEC REIGN" and "ND FANS WOULD BE INSUFFERABLE" it kind of sucks to feel this way but I feel like ND doesn't deserve to be in this game because they had so many close calls that went their way (Pitt field goal, stanford no TD, USC Barkley is out...).   If they win I am just going to quietly shake my head (also because I am watching the game with a bunch of my ND friends).

19 weeks 1 hour ago "I believe you can bet all of

"I believe you can bet all of your possessions and everything in East Lansing that our passing game will be vastly improved next season."

This does not sound like someone who has a lot of confidence.  Do posessions include debt?

19 weeks 3 days ago I think one thing to keep in

I think one thing to keep in mind is... the teams are still going to have to travel EVERYWHERE it's just a matter of how often you travel to each of these places.

for the inner outer config, it could be arranged such that the outer teams have 2 far road games per year.  It's not like we go to every road game (I live in the chicago area and I thought Nebraska was too far to go to, so I doubt many people from Michigan would go there).

I guess the feast or famine doesn't sit well with some of the people I've spoken to, but I am still a fan of the eye of doom.

Why PSU, if I may ask?  They lost their seniors and the scholly reds and transfers will start to hit them next year.  I don't think it'll be easy but I don't expect to lose that game either.

19 weeks 5 days ago Fitz was in a boot at the

Fitz was in a boot at the bowl game, and someone asked him about it and he said he would get it off in a couple weeks.  Hopefully he can be back up to speed by fall with that much time.

19 weeks 5 days ago I'm thinking 9-3, though I

I'm thinking 9-3, though I think our schedule gives time for our oline to mesh before the real competition (with the exception of ND, which may serve as the early challenge to show where they need to be).  3 losses, to either ND, Northwestern, Nebraska, MSU, and OSU.  With all the home games and our track record at home, and Northwestern being almost like a home game, I think we win 2 of these games.

19 weeks 5 days ago would it have been better if
