I'm happy teske is looking good but this team could really use an athletic freak who blocks a ton of shots. The 5 doesn't play a big offensive role for beilein. It's pick and pop or rolls mostly, no real feeding the post. That means his defensive presence is going to be important. Especially when guys like duncan Robinson, good shooters poor lateral quickness needed for d, are on the perimeter.
You can get away with slower/poor defensive gaurd play if you have an eraser at the 5.

Actually most rapists never even get charged because it is probably the hardest offense to prove in a court of law but yeah. Also how does forced impriosonment only carry a $750 fine?
|3 days 23 hours ago||No I mean Jake Layman. The||
No I mean Jake Layman. The 6-8 guy who shoots 50% from 2 and 40% from 3 and average s 6.6 rebounds a game while also adding over an assist a game. The one who put up 23 points the last time he faced off againt brandon dawson. Who is going to guard hiim? He has 2 inches and more lateral quickness than Irvin. Not to mention we will have to put Spike on melo trimble, probably the third best guy at getting into the lane in the big ten because there is no way he could deal with the physicality of dez wells. Our only hope is to play a crazy packed in zone and pray they don't hit their 3's.

We would have 16 wins, d 2 teams don't count. If we win out we might have a chance at an at large if we make it to the championship game with a win over wisconsin on the way but even that would be sweating it out.

Maryland was always a solid add, people just didn't like adding teams. They are a pretty well regarded large research institution that also happens to be in the 4th largest metro area in the country. They are a great basketball school historically and had the 3 most wins of any acc team behind only duke and unc. Football team actually has a national championship and the state puts out good talent, they've been to more bcs bowls (1) than most of the big ten. They also already have 3 big ten championships out of a possible 9 so far and probably have the best baseball team and mens and womens lax teams in the conference. If you were going to expand Maryland always made sense, it was just people being upset with expanding.

It is senior night and the only team MD has only lost at home to UVA this year when dez wells was injured and it was still a close game. Maryland is a bad matchup for us, gaurds who drive well and an athletic good big 4.

Maryland is pretty easily the top conference wbb program at the moment and is proving by already winning the big ten championship and being undefeated in conference play.

Do you think Eminem on the coaching staff would make him more or less likely to work with the Hail and Unite team on a new song?

The ladies are arranged to hang out with the guys but it is generally not paid and is all volunteer. It is still skeezy that the school sets it up but those girls aren't getting paid to kiss treadwell, they volunteered for whatever their reasons are.

Wilcher might be a UM alum but his responsibility now is to his players, not Michigan. If he and a given player believe OSU will do a better job of showcasing their talents and give them a better shot at the NFL than that is where they should go and Wilcher should support that. Wilcher should not put his alma mater above the welfare of the kids he is coaching.
Now I don't necessarily believe Urban is a great guy and it is dissapointing to see Wilcher being gullible, but the issue at that point isn't with sending a kid to OSU, it is with sending a kid to Urban.
|5 days 1 hour ago||This is a little random but||
This is a little random but it is terrible for kids form for them to be shooting at regular height hoops. Almost all of those kids are shooting from the chest froum outside the paint to get the ball there. Just builds terrible habits. Play with smaller balls and shorter hoops.

Not sure how you get Michigan as leading for Costello when he says Stanford has been a favorite all along. Not saying we don't stand a good shot or anything but favorite seems like a stretch from that quote.
|5 days 6 hours ago||I mean in defense of||
I mean in defense of Treadwell he was the star receiver on a top 5 team, is almost certainly going to get drafted in the first round and most of us probably would want the life he has at ole miss. I don't blame him at all.
|5 days 8 hours ago||You say that comment like a||
You say that comment like a lot of people qualify but it is less than 15% of the student population.
|5 days 8 hours ago||Well yeah but that was||
Well yeah but that was student to student. My point is that student tickets don't get outside of the student market all that frequently and since excpet for the really big games student tickets never cost more than like $20 between friends or friends of friends so it there isn't a huge market of people just buying tickets with the sole intent of re selling them because making a profit is a lot of work, and its not that big a proftit.
Plus I don't think it will have too much of an impact on the market since less than like 15% of the student population is eligible for pell grants and probably not all of those students want/can afford even reduced price tickets, and a portion of those students who do buy will most certainly do so with the intention of actually attending the games. Plus an enterprising student would most likely set the price of their ticket as close as possible to overall ticket market. Just because you pay less for the ticket doesn't mean you should not maximize profit and if the average student ticket is selling for $50 an intelligent seller would set their price at $49 or the like, so probably no real impact on the student ticket market.

I had to google St. Helena because I am not caught up on Napoleon and now I feel bad about myself.
|5 days 11 hours ago||I thin you overestimate the||
I thin you overestimate the desire and willingness to sell tickets. Obviously a student could, but most students have tickets or don't plan on going to games. If you are selling outside the student market you have to deal with stubhub fees or craigslist and the tickets have to get those stickers to be used without a um id. Most people I knew just ate the cost of tickets if they couldn't sell to another student for a friend or something, its not worth the hassle, people don't buy season tickets just to sell them, even if it is cheaper.

Not gonna lie we look pretty locked into that 8/9 game which if we were on the bubble would be perfect but as of now is probably the worst place to be and its rough.

I mean Utah might be the most physically beautiful state in the lower 48 and has some of the most amazing national parks in the world if that is something they like.
|1 week 1 day ago||The semantics matter because||
The semantics matter because it impacts how people see the world and others. The person who sees themselves as middle class while making 250k, which isn't just not near what the median income in the country is but over 4 times it, is going to see the world differently than if they were brought up acknowleding that they had more wealth, resources, and privilidge than 90% of the country. If you asked this woman if she thought she was better off financially than 90% of the country she would probably disagree with you. I don't see the world as only 3 economic classes. The family making 250k is not in the same realm as the person making 2 million who is not in the same realm as the person who has a 10 million dollar inheritance set up in a trust fund. But the person making 250k is certainly not in the same situation as the family making 60k no matter where they chose to buy a house. Semantics matter because it highlights differences in the way people see the world.
|1 week 1 day ago||How crime riddled do you||
How crime riddled do you think LA is? Over 90% of people living in LA do it on houehold incomes below 100k but apparently for you that is impossible without living in a place you don't feel safe. I think the issue is with you, not the neighberhoods you have available.
|1 week 1 day ago||steeteasy, trulia, naked||
steeteasy, trulia, naked apartments, friends, I don't remeber the exact websites. Takes me a half hour to get to work right by grand central but that is coming from the upper west, live off both the A,C and 1 and have a chipotle on my block that I pound.
|1 week 1 day ago||According to this definition||
According to this definition the upper class is only a few thousand families strong and that person with a household income of 300k is in the same class as a person with a household income of 60k because both of their kids will still have to work. We live in America, both Palo Alto and Michigan are in America. I don't really care what they do in the UK or Germany when it comes to determining economic classes. Their tax structures and social welfare programs are also completely different which helps alleviate or eliminate many of the advantages offered by moderate wealth in the United States as compared to the actual middle class. If you make 50k in the UK going to Oxford or Cambridge or LSE is just as much of an option as the person who makes 250k. In the United States someone making 50k in San jose isn't going to Michigan out of state. That is why the distinctions matter here and it is why they matter on actual earned income not some notion of power and handed down wealth.
According to wiki the "American" middle class generally falls in the economic range between 40k-95k or from 80% to 120% of the median income. So you know less than half of 250k.
|1 week 1 day ago||I really don't get why||
I really don't get why everyone is arguing so hard to not be considered above middle class. Having more money than most people is not a bad thing as long as you recognize it and the advantages it gives you rather than arguing you are on equal footing. The thing that pisses people off is when shit like happens. When someone making 250k with a house worth 2 million dollars, living in one of the nicest neighberhoods in the United States is trying to say they are more or less on equal footing as your family who makes 60k and lives in the city they spent all their money to get out of. Not being middle class is not a bad thing, trying to pretend like you are when you are not is the bad thing.
|1 week 1 day ago||You don't have to live in||
You don't have to live in Palo Alto! It is a choice! There is no law that if you work a good job in silicon valley you have to live in Palo Alto! It is a choice, they are choosing to live in one of the most expensive neighberhoods in the region, that is a choice.

Lol. Over 90% of people who live in the Chicago metro area earn a household income less than 250k to start and you are trying to tell me that having 250k after a mortgage is middle class. Get out of here with that.

They aren't in silicon valley either, just in palo alto one of the most expensive neighberhoods there.

Yes I live in NYC, in Manhattan too. And I have friends working as consultants with IBM, Deloitte, and Accenture making bank who are still "only" paying like 1,200,-1,500 for 1 bedrooms in fancy doorman buidlings. Your friends are just bad at finding places.
