that's unfortunate, but at least the interest is there on both sides

Who cares if we only get two years from those guys if those 2 years involved deep runs in the tourney? The point of recruiting is to put together a team that wins every year. Not one that will win every 3-4 years.

People need to stop using kamisnky as a comp for under rated big men. He was a guard in high school who grew like 7 inches in one year and spent his first two years of college adjusting to being tall. Those skills from being a guard are part of what made him the player he was.
You can't comp that to an unathletic big guy who has been a big his whole life. Maybe this guy will be good, though I'm not a huge fan of 6'10 guys who can barely dunk, but comparing him to kaminsky to prove a point is just dumb. Almost all elite players were that way in high school and while kaminsky might be an exception it is for pretty specific reasons that don't apply to this guy.

There were a lot of top 100 recruits. Manny Harris was a consensu 4 star, so was Deshawn Sims, Darius Morris was top 100, Mitch McGary, GRIII, and Stuaskas were all top 100. Trey Burke was top 100 to espn, top 150 to Rivals. Tim Hardaway was a top 100 player. I'm sure I'm missing others. Smotrcyz was, I think Horford might have been but not sure.
Also sure MAAR and Dawkins were better this year than Chatman, but they were not better than Devin Booker and James Blackmon jr who Beilein wanted. Or De'angelo Russel or Melo Trimble or any other number of freshman players this year. Langford, Winston and Battle could be those level guys. This guy will probably be worse as a freshman than Doyle, which isn't a bad thing but isn't making the team a national title contender.

It makes no sense to take this recruit now. Seems like Beilein knows he isn't getting any of the highly rated guys which is really dissapointing. I know we all like MAAR and Dawkins but james blackmon jr and devin booker were both better. Stars might not mean everything but they sure as hell tend to mean something. Just because Beilein is good at spotting under the radar talent doesn't make that talent better than the elite talent. Dissapointed to say the least.

I have an issue with the movie because it portrays Kyle as a complicated hero when in fact he was accused of committing war crimes by shooting un armed civilians, is a racist, and claims to have shot people in New Orleans after Hurrican Katrina.
The idea that we would consider that man a hero simply because he wore an American uniform in war is an incredibly dangerous thought process. It has nothing to do with how I feel about the Iraq war and everything to do with the man himself being deifyed as a tragically flawed hero rather than the bigot and pathological liar he was.

Lol at the film showing a nuanced opinion and showing flaws. Chris Kyle is accused of killing multiple unarmed innocent people in Iraq, brags about shooting people in New Orleans after Katrina (almost certainly not true but who the fuck would brag about that?) Is a pretty unabashed racist and islmaphobe in his book and all of that was taken out of the film. And of course the movie was a pretty clear good v. evil too. The movie is not nuanced at all. That doesn't mean it should be censored but the idea of Chris Kyle as an American hero is a sad day for America.

Because those guys win championships and send more guys to the NFL than anyone else. If your goal is to get to the NFL winning a starting spot on Alabama, LSU, or OSU now (previously Florida) is the best way to get there. These guys aren't going to these schools for the education, they are going to get the best chance at the NFL and that is still true.

It won't matter, all 3 are good enough and the offense was at its best when pounding elliott.

Or see Michael Phelps. Got busted for a second dui and was suspended six months from swimming. Its actually pretty common for sports teams to deal out punishments beyond the justice system. Getting no punishment for violating parol is certainly on the lighter side.

Lol an employer would certainly know and most people do get impacted by being arrested and convicted. Take a look at the employment rates of people with criminal offenses and get back to me.
And fuck that being on a sports team is different than being at a job. The entire sporting world knows about his arrest and he is a reprsentative of the University. When high profile people get in trouble they often face penalties beyond the justice system.
And my bigger point was that since everyone here seems to agree with you I don't expect to see any more comments about how Dantanio and Meyer refuse to punish players in ways that could hurt the team.
|1 week 5 days ago||This is a bullshit lack of||
This is a bullshit lack of punishment. Glasgow should not play the first game of the season. It wasn't a do nothing or boot him off the team option. Glasgow can be punished by both the courts and the team, they are not mutually exclusive and if Dantanio or Meyer did the same thing we would be shitting on them for not wanting to hurt their chances of winning. If you are fine with this you can't think shit on any other coaches again.

If Jake Layman comes back, and he should, Maryland is probably a top 5 team next year. MSU also has eron harris and Mcdonalds all american coming in plus a guy Beilein wanted, have to assume they will be top 20. Who does Indiana lose? Conference will be better next year.
|2 weeks 2 hours ago||Even if Jaylen does come I||
Even if Jaylen does come I wouldn't be that confident. Maryland is probably a top 5 team next year if Layman comes back. MSU is bringing in good talent and will be good. Wisconsin should be good if dekker comes back and purdue is bringing back its entire team. OSU will still have great talent. Big ten will be good again next year.

An after game interview is a notoriously bad way to judge the intelligence of a person. You just had you adrenaline pumping for playing athletics, are coming off an either extreme high or low and have probably just pushed your body to its absolute limit. Not to mention public speaking and speaking in front of a camera can mess anybody up. Your conclusions reek of pre-conceived notions of what intelligence should sound like.

What most schools actually do is have a couple spots for guys right at the minimum that admissions will look the other way on and the rest have to meet a certain standard. So when you see a school like Maryland accept a guy Wisconsin wouldn't (which all just pure speculation and bullshit) it is because Wisconsin already has reached their cap of iffy academic guys.
Maryland's clearing house has actually stopped more than a few high level recruits from enrolling due to acadmics and Michigan football has more than a couple who just meet NCAA standards. It is what it is. Obviously some schools care more than others but in general for a top level recruit like Stone, every school would take him if he meets the NCAA base and that includes Wisconsin and Michigan.

The switch in color happened because it "popped" more on hdtv, not because Adidas can't figure out how to make something maize. Anyone looking at OSU's uniforms over the last couple years knows Nike can make shit uniforms for big time programs.
And apparel sales are entirely tied to winning. It is hilarious to me that anyone thinks switching to Nike could make up a 4 million dollar difference annually. Winning could but that has nothing to do with apparel. Take whoever pays the most money, it could be Puma for all I care.

The fact that there is no Georgetown metro stop is the best thing ever. Pretty much when Metro was getting built old rich white people were worried that having a stop would let "crime" (i.e. poor people) get to them easier so they blocked it. Now everyone from G'town bitches about not having a stop. It is glorious.

Is it bad that when I see a QB target considering LSU I get really scared? Who is their last good QB?

Unfortunatley historical accuracy matters less than perception in these issues. OSU is known for having helmet stickers, it is their thing regardless of what happened in the 50's and 60's.

Not sure how my post got got corrected to tryed, that does make me look dumb. But I don't really care what Moeller or Bo gave stickers for because they look dumb and just because it happened in the past doesn't autmotically make it a positive.

That looks terrible and cluttered and ruins one of the best helmets in football. But I guess because it was Bo's idea everyone loves it.

Hate the look of helmet stickers. Everyone here always freaks out about changing the helmet and yet the best part is the clean classic look. All stickers do is clutter shit up. Plus its like fucking handing out gold stars in kindergarten, oh you tryed hard in practice, here is a sticker. How about if you play well in practice you get to play in the game, that is the reward.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||The Thunder are a terribly||
The Thunder are a terribly coached team. Last night I watched Texas run 5 straight minutes of iso ball to end the game as they lost to a less talented Butler team. When a play breaks down pretty much all teams run iso ball, college or NBA and it is usually because there is not enough time to run a play anymore not because of style of play in the league.
And for all the shit a team like the Thunder get Westbrook is averaging over 8 assists a game even with an injury destroyed team. Chris Paul and John Wall, two all stars average 10 assists a game. The NBA is better basketball than college, better offense, better defense, and better individual players. You can still like college basketball more for other reasons but nobody who actually follows/cares about basketball thinks the quality of play is lower in the NBA and that included offense being run and defense being played. Just because you can point out individuals who don't work hard on defense doesn't mean that is what happens in the league.
