you can necessarily say that it means that JH is "highly unlikely to come to Michigan". The statement that "the extension likely has a much higher buyout clause" doesn't mean much. I believe Les Miles still has Michigan in his contract with LSU as one of the teams that he could go to without UM having to pay a buyout. Also, Stanford has a history of coaches using their head coaching position as a stepping stone to further their careers elsewhere (many of their past head coaches only average about 3-4 years at the helm before they leave). In the final analysis, the devil is in the details of the contract (of which I doubt that your source knows all, if any of them) and the contract can really be structured in many ways.
posting. One thing that I have never understood is how the NCAA can make allegations, for example, on a person's character (RR's failing to promote an atmosphere of complance with NCAA rules) without proof positive. Do they just go be hearsay and hope a university doesn't fight it? They obviously did not know what they were talking about. What are the retributions for the NCAA messing up? It's a bunch of bullshit and only reaffirms my long-held belief that the NCAA is a useless, arrogant, self-righteous piece-of-shit organization.
Penn State game as a game that would have showed progress (in particular in conference games) if we had won it. Penn State is not a great team. It should have been a winable game.
and I want him to stay and be successful. Also, as you state, he knows how to field a good defensive team as he did it at WV. You have to believe that as a successful head coach in the past he understands what ti takes to compose a decent defense. Where I have always been skeptical though is when it comes to GERG. His past as a head coach has not been good and I have always wondered how good of a DC he really is. To me, his defense has to show at least some improvement by the end of this season. I know his players are young but it strikes me as odd that they have not gotten even a little bit better in 1 1/2 years. By now there should be at least some inkling of progress in what he is doing. Dave Brandon is a sharp man and he also understands football from a player's perspective. I am confident that he will do what is necessary to improve the defense and the team. RR should stay; but my guess is thar GERG and his staff will be gone at year's end.
is that Dave Brandon will have a job to do at the end of the season which will entail reviews for the total staff of the football team. I trust he will do thorough job and I am curious to aee what he does.
research you did regarding the obviously young secondary. However, the problem is deeper than just the secondary, It is also the missing fundamentals, the missed assignments and poor play at linebacker. Yes, the secondary is young and should improve but their defenses problems run much deeper than that.
the three is on the light side. It could be that tight but I think the chances of a much wider win margin really favors M. I could see a 21+ point margin of victory for M, GO BLUE!
time to put up or shut up starting with Penn State. Also, need wins over Ill and Purdue. I think we need to go 4-4 minimum in the Conference. It's time to start showing we can win in Conference.
not to mention the dynamics of 1.) seeing your buddy go there and 2.) you gotta believe he's thinking about early playing time. Thanks, Tom, for you're great work. Getting Ha-Ha would be FAAAAAAANTASTIC!
about beating Purdue. I want M to beat the snot out of Purdue after that moronic move Danny "Great White" Hope made at the end of last year's game. At that point, the guy convinced me he was a real dick.
posts on this board as I am very concerned about the status of our defense going forward. I am confident that Dave Brandon will do the right thing regarding the defensive coaching staff at the end of the season when he does his review of the total staff. This is no different than your yearly review at your place of employment. I believe Dave Brandon, with his business and football playing knowledge, is the right man to put changes in place if that needs to be done. I'm sure that what is currently happening with the defense sticks in his craw as much as it does in ours.
to see another defense at M like this year or the previous two years again. If that means taking a "risk" and getting rid of him at the end of this year, then so be it. I really don't think you can do much worse.
piss poor tackling last year and the first half of this year. GERG is the linebacker coach this year yet at the point of impact we give up eight yards when it should only be two. I would think that after one-and-a -half years the tackling should be better. I'm really starting to wonder about GERG.
to ascertain how good of a coach GERG is and I still can't tell for sure. However, I have seen no improvement in the defense during the first six games of this year and the tackling is horrendous. I have been trying to give GERG the benefit of the doubt but the more I see of this defense the more I believe that GERG can't teach fundementals. Does anyone else feel that way? If I am wrong please enlighten me. The defense is just god-awful.

Yep, I agree about too much negativity. Really puts a damper on the site.
Or as John McEnroe would say, "YOU CAN"T BE SERIOUS!".
THROUGH THE UPRIGHTS!

pretty definite.
let's just score a shitload of points.
does he coach?
breaking news from the FREEP!
the M coaching staff to teach the football players how to--HOLD ONTO THE DAMN BALL!
so, Brian--say it ain't so.

Brandon may have some input regarding the defensive coaching staff at the end of this season.

is really rotten in Denmark on the defense. It just doesn't add up. I don't tottaly buy the "lack of experience" line.
your pont but can you really attribute all the poor tackling to that or is it that GERG is not pounding the proper technique into their head?
