My favorite part of that was after the initial laughter when the student section started chanting "en-glish ma-jors" clap clap clap-clap-clap. Definitely a good night at Yost.

First, The post you replied to never said anything about freedom of expression, it simply suggested that if people don't like something, they make a personal choice to not go see it. The STFU was thrown in, as I read it anyway, to suggest that they don't whine about it.
Second, while I suppose that telling someone to STFU is technically an attempt to quell their expression, it is in no way encroaching on their freedom of expression. Those are two very different things.
FWIW I don't think that the university deciding not to air a movie violates anybody's freedom of expression, but it's still inappropriate based on the many things that have been pointed out by others.

Pretty sure an anonymous poster on a message board telling people to stfu is not encroaching upon anyone's freedom of expression.

What does he get royalties for? Is that part of the EA sports settlement or something else?

How is it interesting? I'm seriously asking. And more to the point, how is it enjoyable/entertaining? How is it anything other than sad/unfortunate?

I mean, I think everyone would be ok with the hire if those two conditions are met. The concern is that it seems like an amazing coincidence that we're hiring the mother of a player who is considering transferring to play football for us.

I have tried to keep myself convinced that it isn't happening. I can't do that anymore. God help us all if we have to consider Plan B.

God, i forgot all about that. That was tough. Same year as Courtney Canter wasn't it?

Rodriguez obviously had a huge problem with attrition, but I don't remember him recruiting kids that the university wouldn't allow in. Obviously there's Dorsey, but that was an NCAA issue, not a Michigan one
|20 weeks 1 day ago||I'm not sure this is actually||
I'm not sure this is actually true. I think as long as a player can qualify based on NCAA standards Michigan will take them. I know that Hoke tended to not recruit kids that he thought were marginal to qualify, but I understood that as more of a preference (not wanting to waste time / a spot) and not an institutional higher standard. Unless the presumption is that LSU has some UNC type deal going on to keep athletes eligible that Michigan doesn't have.
I could be wrong, but this is my understanding.

Is that always true? Wasn't Charlie Weiss getting paid by both ND and Florida while he was coaching Kansas?

I think Hoke has changed the tide on the rivalry. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe him. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling Michigan jerseys is a good start.

It's weird, but i guess I'm surprised how much people are so invested. I'm a guy who pretty much went to Michigan because I grew up watching their football team (never bothered applying anywhere else, that's just where I was going to go). I've been watching for forever and never expected us to lose a game until the Citrus bowl against Tebow.

My main complaint is as a season ticket holder. The cost to hold season tickets is getting absolutley ridiculous and the home schedule is gettin worse and worse. I would certainly rather lose a home game every other year if it meant scheduling a quality opponent for a home and home.

Do you buy season tix?
|1 year 31 weeks ago||You don't get it||
This is my first year as a season ticket holder since grad school. It cost me $1000 to transfer tix plus $1,200 for a seat license + ~$1,000 for tix this season. I couldnt sell these tix (sec 44) for $40. In reality, they cost me $500 for the pair. The only reason to show up is to tailgate ($50 to park close) The pricing model is broken in a huge way. Within 5 years we'll only bevselling out the big games. I don't blame the students for not showing up for this game.
