freep has set a new record for incompetence

Wow, the freep is reporting today that Ron Johnson just committed on Thursday, then they embedded tweets from June.  Good thing twitter didn't exist in 1969 or the freep might finally figure out we landed on the moon!

Stranglehold

Stranglehold by Ted Nugent.

I'm not sure the lyrics would make the NFL proud, but if I were a soon-to-be professional football player, it's got the attitude, aura, and coolness that I'd like to project.

Renewed
  1. Student/Alum/Did not attend:  Alum
  2. Number of previous seasons you purchased season tickets, as student or not, excluding 2014:  22
  3. Number of tickets renewed for 2014:  1 (my brother has a season ticket next to me)
  4. Number of tickets NOT renewed for 2014:  0
  5. Bonus question:  Did the Nuss hire or the Penn State night game announcement sway your decision?  No

I have to admit, despite the rough results we've had the last few years, the rising prices, and other various changes that aren't my ideal, I will always renew.  I love Michigan football and want to be at every game -- there are so few opportunities to be there and it's still special to me.  And I love my seat, so I have to renew to keep it.

I'm actually considering adding two more seats so that I can begin taking my kids to games.  I won't actually do it unless two seats open up very close to my current ones (the athletic department said they would call once the renewal deadline passes).  I figured this was the year to try.  But if they don't have two very close, I'm ok with that since it's cheaper to stubhub it (the drawback of that being that I likely wouldn't be able to get seats close to mine for cheap).

I wish I could tell you

I wish I could tell you for sentimental reasons, but I have no idea.  Looking at google maps, it doesn't look like that place is right across the street.  Maybe Upper 90?

Sentimental favorite

I went to a small sports bar across the street from the Bradley Center on March 26, 1997, waiting for the next day's Frozen Four.  There was nobody else in the place, I was by myself because my brother wasn't arriving until later that night.  Then Wings-Avs happened.  I'm sure I looked odd in my Wings jersey going nuts in front of the little TV in the corner, but I am not ashamed.  Epicly-good sports things seem to happen in that place, so I recommend it.  :)

No idea what the name is or if it's still there, but it's permanently there in my memories...

Michigan Univeristy?

I think you mean Michigan Univoracity. :)

Edit: meant for this to be a reply to the "Michigan Univeristy" comment above, but accidentally replied at the bottom as opposed to the post itself.

98 sounds right.

My seats used to be around 94, so 96 or 98 sounds right.  I'm thankful every time I'm there though that my seats got moved to the first row years ago.  Changes the experience completely.

Not loud?

Trust me, it's loud.  Maybe not in row 90 or wherever this video was taken from, but I have first row seats and it's plenty loud.  There's a big difference between two rows of people behind you yelling towards you and 90+ rows of people behind you yelling towards you.  So down on/by the field, it's plenty loud.  Just like the last UTL game, I had to yell to the person next to me the entire time for them to hear me.  I am so proud of how the fans brought it the entire game on Saturday, including during 7NA.

Great speech.

Love the speech, love seeing Brady back home!  I'm fired up just watching that, can't imagine how cool it must have been to be in the room.

That said, did I hear a "pimportant" in there?  :)

Excellent question

I'm more or less like everyone else -- on this site all the time, huge Michigan fan, alum, football and basketball season ticket holder, etc.  But for whatever reason I haven't felt like I've had a whole lot to add to most of the discussions, I'm more read-only I guess.  Two weeks ago was the thread on how the local Detroit teams never draft Michigan players, and while that was true, part of the thread dealt with Michigan guys who even just played on the local teams (not that they were drafted).  I had two obscure names I wanted to add to the list.

Haha, I feel like I've been reprimanded.  I promise I'll try to post more often, like once every two years now!

Can I swipe his award?

Member for 4 years and 40 weeks, first two posts (besides this one) were 2 weeks ago.  :)

James Hall

And James Hall played several years for the Lions, but as the OP suggests, I don't think anyone from Michigan currently plays on any of the four pro teams in Detroit.  Definitely frustrating.

Hal Morris

Hal Morris played for the Tigers for part of a season if I recall correctly.
