My divorce was final on July…

My divorce was final on July, 24th. Also, my birthday.

We did collaborative with a mediator and financial advisor. She made more money than I did, and we had some reasonably complex asset splits. My ex is a lawyer, I'm not. After a bit of time I was getting a sense that it wasn't fair. I scheduled a consultation with a lawyer. Five minutes into the conversation he said "dude, why?"  He thought I was getting manipulated and I was entitled to far more. I become stoic, change my mentality to business transaction. I didn't end up needing him for for more than the 1-hour consultation. It saved me $175k, not joking, and I pay zero maintenance. She was trying to get me to pay for crazy stuff, made-up arrangements, upgrades to the house I moved out of, etc.

By virtue of posting this, it sounds like you care, and will support her. That's great.

If she's not seeing a therapist, she should. Helps with the processing and validation of feelings, wants/needs.

Get a financial advisor who can answer tax and income-related questions as they pertain to the divorce.

Michigan is no-fault divorce I think. She doesn't have to prove fault or misconduct. Go for what she thinks is fair.  I'm not a lawyer so but I do think she needs to fight knowing no one wins a divorce.

If Jamaica could get all of…

If Jamaica could get all of their eligible players healthy, and commit to play, they have a decent squad.

He will be eligible to play…

He will be eligible to play for Gold Cup and Nations League.

I think they care, at least…

I think they care, at least they should. He scored 20 goals (all comps) and is just 21. Their depth is good, but why not secure a 21-year-old with a high upside?

  • Kane (29)
  • Rashford (more of a left-winger)
  • Toney (27)
  • Nketiah (23)
Folarin Balogun - Player…

Folarin Balogun - Player profile 22/23 | Transfermarkt

He's a dynamic player, only 21, and superb in Liege 1. Arsenal could have transferred him to another EPL team, a couple Italian teams wanted him, but they didn't. They protected him and kept him in France to grow - he did. He likely plays for Arsenal in the Fall and battles with Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus.

He slots in as the third-best in CONCACAF behind David, Davies, probably same level as an inform Pulisic, Adams and ahead of Santi, etc. It's like getting a four star in the transfer market.

Don't sleep on Pepi. He was good for a bad team in an average league. I'm guessing he ends up at a top Eredivisie team or in Italy. Malik Tillman too, he has a unique skillset depending on what position he ends up at.

Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. I prefer versions by Jeff Buckley or Rufus Wainrght.

No. Good enough for CONCACAF…

No. Good enough for CONCACAF tournaments but he was exposed by Van Gaal. We should do better. Too old, but someone like Guus Hidink? Adaptable, experimental and shines in tournaments. I’d like to see someone with Serie A experience as that defensive, counterattacking focus would compliment our style and grit.
The player pool is interesting right now. Who we thought were mainstays might not be now with some newer blood emerging - LDLT, Tillman, Booth, Trusty, Weah as fullback, ,..Balogun!!

My first thought was we could potentially poach some recruits.

If you look at ELO rankings,…

If you look at ELO rankings, group B (USA, Eng, Iran, ?) could be the toughest with Wales and maybe Scotland. It's going to be really tough for USA to get out of this group. It's not a cake walk for England.

I think Mex has it pretty good - Argentina is a bit disjointed right now but excellent, SA is probably going to be the worst team in the WC and Poland near the worst of the Euro teams. CAN has a tough group - I really like Morocco.

I would bet Portugal. They can get goals from a everywhere. Senegal is dangerous too.

Scottie Barnes. He looked…

Scottie Barnes. He looked raw and awkward, NBA scouts thought he could be a superstar and it looks like he could be. I think scouts see Caleb in a similar way.

This.

I was really…

This.

I was really surprised watching Ill not making adjustments, poor player rotation, lacking simple fundamentals, shot selection, etc. There seems to be another level teams like Michigan and Villanova can get to, to maximize talent and efficiency.  Really good tournament teams seem less wasteful with each possession.

I watched all weekend as I…

I watched all weekend as I was sick, had time to pay attention.

It think it's depth of talent and coaching. UM and Purdue have both. Ill and OSU are surprisingly poorly coached teams. Many BIG teams lack depth after their 'guy'.

Dual sport star, was very…

Dual sport star, was very productive against good comp (I think).

His throwing mechanics look good but he doesn't look super accurate in the E11 film. Footwork doesn't look great to me but that is something that can be improved. I don't know, I think he's project QB that could be good.

Found this from E11 that included the top QB recruits:

"* Virginia Tech commitment Alex Orji was the most physically impressive prospect in attendance and he backed it up with the highest testing mark throughout all classes, a 98.79, at 6'2" 226 pounds. It included strong times in the 40-yard dash relative to his size and not to mention a 37.7-inch vertical leap. Orji has a strong arm and left the event sporting the ACC program's colors, reaffirming his stance as a quarterback first despite the build and athleticism to play multiple positions."

I don't trust Georgia to beat Alabama, this is essentially a playoff game tonight for AL. I think Cinn  is going to lose too. Chaos!

I just realized ND could sneak into the playoffs. Ugh. If they do, the only story pundits will talk about is their coaching situation. I'm really hoping OKST can get back into this one.

Also, this thing is pretty cool, you can run different scenarios: https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/page/cfbplayoffpredictor/cfb-playoff-predictor

Iowa's biggest asset is Ferentz, he gets a lot out of his players.

I think this game is going to be closer than some people expect. The line is probably right on the mark.

This was some old school…

This was some old school Bill McCartney football - dominate line scrimmage, pound it, demoralize the defense. ‘I’m going to put my balls on your forehead and there’s nothing you can do about it.’

We have decent receivers, good enough, this wasn’t about confidence in the passing game.

Yes, cycling and soccer.

Cycling and soccer.

Strade Bianche was great. I'm a CX fan so seeing Wout win was really cool.

I started following Chelsea after the restart because of Pulisic. He has become such a dynamic attacking player and reminds me of how Robben would attack goal.  MLS too, the kid (Aaronson?) playing for Union looks like the real deal and in a position that the USMNT need.

Ever since moving to Denver I've lost interest in hockey and baseball. I still love the Tigers and I check the farm system for prospects occasionally, but it's hard to catch an actual game. Denver media ONLY talks about the Broncos and I've kind of forgotten about the other sports.

I'm addicted to documentaries and podcasts right now.

The season starts with Wisconsin, Penn State at home, MSU and Minn away. That's pretty tough. Obviously concerned with the OL given so little time to gain experience together.

I work for a clinic that serves as primary care providers for 50k patients. We’ve stood up Telehealth, drive thru testing, workforce exposure protocols and workforce capacity assessments, worked with vendor to build risk factor surveillance registries, covid reporting, GIS mapping....in two weeks, on a tiny budget. All HIPAA compliment. The idea we should compromise privacy is ridiculous.
