|1 day 1 hour ago||Hello||
From the other side
|2 weeks 2 days ago||disagree with OP's assessment||
watch the tape. Good handles, definitely a combo guard. This is the type of player Beilein finds and then ends up on a mock draft board in 2-3 years.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||or maybe||
or maybe the downvotes are for the clickbait title and misleading premise that Wagner and Wilson are in the first round on SEVERAL mock drafts, when in reality it is 2 of 11.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||not true||
Tell that to Mitch McGary. Look going early has a lot of risks that people on this board largely ignore and say "follow the money".
If you are deemed a project, as both Wagner and Wilson would be at this stage, the risk you run is someone else taking your spot as a free agent, next year's draft, etc. Once you bounce out of the league, really hard to bounce back in.
There is a draft every year, and the good teams that draft at the end of the 1st round are usually only looking to fill 1-2 positions and many times take the same type of player in back to back years and the best player will earn a spot towards the end of his 1st contract.
Also, playing games is the best way to improve significantly. Everyone talks about practice restrictions, but that is only with a coach present. These guys are free to shoot as many jumpers and practice all they want on their own. Any player will tell you the best way to improve is game experience. The best recent example of this is Draymond Green. It's hard to develop when all you do is practice and don't play.

gets a guaranteed tryout, no money guaranteed.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||misread my argument||
I don't think Higgins is incompetent. I do think certain refs have certain biases against certain coaches. I know that Higgins is a favorite of Izzo because he "lets the players bang". I personally dislike Higgins and Boroski more than TV Teddy. Whenever I see them draw a Michigan game, I feel like we are at a disadvantage.

Kentucky is 32-6 in the NCAA tournament under Calipari. They are 1-4 in the tournament under Calipari in games that John Higgins officiates. Yikes....
John Higgins is the poster child for what is wrong with college basketball. Same can be said for Saratore. They both have "real" jobs that require much of their focus and college basketball is more or less a "side gig" to make some extra cash. There is no check and balance system in college basketball because the refs are considered part time individual contractors. There is too much money at stake to not have full time refs, training and full game by game evaluations.

I knew Kansas would choke in this situation. I wanted our boys to play them so bad. Kansas is the most overrated favorite in years.

Don't want to start a post, but if anyone has a ticket stub from yesterday's game, I would be willing to buy it from you. I wasn't able to go to the game yesterday, but I collect ticket stubs from all their tournament games. Please leave a reply and I will message you back with my email.

My wife and I saw several people in Indy with Ohio State gear. We made sure to ask each of them, "what time does Ohio State played today?" The responses were always a blank stare.

Curious on your projection for Livers next year.
Also, noticed you have been notably absent since Michigan's resurgence. You are also a vocal critic of Beilein. Curious on your thoughts on how the season turned around.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||Two bets||
$50 at 150 to 1, and $50 at 75 to 1. Daddy needs a new car.
|5 weeks 8 hours ago||Exactly||
I hate that he said that. There is only 1 coach I despise more than Pitino, and he is a legal midget just like Pitino.
|5 weeks 8 hours ago||Wow||
Illinois clearly want a Beilein-like coach. Too bad his teams are worse defensively than all of power 5 basketball.
|5 weeks 3 days ago||devil's advocate||
How do you think it would play out if Patrick Beilein was an up and coming football coach and landed a job at Purdue. If John openly rooted for Purdue, the way Jim openly roots for Indiana, do you think that Jim would be ok with that. I don't think so.
|6 weeks 7 hours ago||Fitting||
He was hired in large part due to beating Michigan in the tournament. Fitting that his career ends with a blow out loss to his biggest rival.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||probably not||
at least not right away, and he won't be asked to do it next year. The 4 will remain Wilson/Robinson. Only way that changes is if we get Bamba.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||Stringer Bell||
Where are you?
|7 weeks 1 day ago||Last year||
Last year 3 of the 4 teams in the final four had a 3pa/fga in the top 100. I have a feeling we will look back ain 5 years and say the reverse. If you don't have a ranking in the top 100 in that statistic your team is less likely.
|7 weeks 3 days ago||biggest growth story yet||
all of you missed the biggest growth story yet from one season to the next. Darius Morris. Burke was phenonmenal as a freshmen. Stauskas was good, and then became great. Darius was flat out bad, for large parts of his freshmen year, and then became an all-conference level player as a sophmore, but much like X, you could see it happening late in his freshmen year.
|9 weeks 1 hour ago||Right||
Tomorrow's game is the 2 hottest teams in the B1G not named Purdue.
|9 weeks 1 hour ago||Don't forget||
They beat Purdue at home. Who has 4 better wins than Nebraska? @osu, @Indiana, @Maryland, and home vs. Purdue.
|9 weeks 2 hours ago||I knew he would win it||
Won 1500, at 30 to 1. Go Blue!!!
|9 weeks 5 days ago||Disagree||
9-9 is just as likely as 10-8. If they finish 9-9 they will need to find at least 2 wins and probably 3 in the conference tournament.
|9 weeks 6 days ago||Wisconsin is a good matchup||
Happ will not overpower Wagner and they lack guards that are great with dribble penetration. Still feel like Wisconsin is beatable and Beilein is 6-1 in the barn. Win those 2 and take care of Rutgers and Nebraska and they will be a lock.
|9 weeks 6 days ago||Spot on||
End of discussion.
|10 weeks 5 days ago||If they go 6 and 2||
If they go 6-2 and get left out of the tourney, I will eat a bag of lemons.
|10 weeks 5 days ago||14 points per game||
14 points per game? As someone who made a couple bucks betting on Michigan I would say that is believable. Spot me 14 points either way and I would do very well.
|10 weeks 5 days ago||If they win all 5 road games||
As suggested, if they win all 5 road games you can book their tournament spot, short of getting to 9-9, I don't see it happening.
|10 weeks 6 days ago||Amaker teams were always on the verge||
They lost Horton, Abrams, Hunter, Sims, Harris, Petway and some other guys in 2 years. That roster was in shambles when Amaker left. Literally had nothing outside of 2 freshman and DeShawn Sims.
