Tomorrow's game is the 2 hottest teams in the B1G not named Purdue.
|5 days 3 min ago||Don't forget||
They beat Purdue at home. Who has 4 better wins than Nebraska? @osu, @Indiana, @Maryland, and home vs. Purdue.
|5 days 13 min ago||I knew he would win it||
Won 1500, at 30 to 1. Go Blue!!!
|1 week 3 days ago||Disagree||
9-9 is just as likely as 10-8. If they finish 9-9 they will need to find at least 2 wins and probably 3 in the conference tournament.
|1 week 3 days ago||Wisconsin is a good matchup||
Happ will not overpower Wagner and they lack guards that are great with dribble penetration. Still feel like Wisconsin is beatable and Beilein is 6-1 in the barn. Win those 2 and take care of Rutgers and Nebraska and they will be a lock.
|1 week 4 days ago||Spot on||
End of discussion.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||If they go 6 and 2||
If they go 6-2 and get left out of the tourney, I will eat a bag of lemons.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||14 points per game||
14 points per game? As someone who made a couple bucks betting on Michigan I would say that is believable. Spot me 14 points either way and I would do very well.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||If they win all 5 road games||
As suggested, if they win all 5 road games you can book their tournament spot, short of getting to 9-9, I don't see it happening.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Amaker teams were always on the verge||
They lost Horton, Abrams, Hunter, Sims, Harris, Petway and some other guys in 2 years. That roster was in shambles when Amaker left. Literally had nothing outside of 2 freshman and DeShawn Sims.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||still work to do||
Their front half of the schedule was the softest in the B1G. Their back half is much tougher. Still have to play @ Wisconsin, @ Purdue, @ Illinois, @ Indiana with home games against Maryland, Purdue and Michigan. I think the best they can do in those 7 games is probably 2-5. If you give them the home games against Rutgers and Illinois, the puts them at 11-7 in conference and probably in the tournament, but 1-6 in the above stretch probably puts them squarely on the bubble. Long way to go.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Chris Mack||
Wins what conference? Since 2010, when comparing Beilein and Mack you get the following:
Both coaches have 2 regular season conference championships (Mack won 2 in the old A-10 and has not won the Big East yet - joined in 2013-14).
Both coaches have 0 conference tournament championships.
One coach has a Final Four and an Elite 8 appearance and an overall tournament record of 10-5, missing the tournament twice since 2010.
The other coach has 0 Finals Four and 0 Elite 8 appearances but does have 3 Sweet 16 appearances and an overall record 8-6.
So if you are looking for a coach that wins less but recruits better, Mack is your guy.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||Hawt take||
This team will win enough games to make the tournament. I am willing to give Beilein next year.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||No, not coming, and he'll no||
Chris Mack is just like Thad Matta. Terrible X's and O's, good recruiter. When you have a coach like that and he misses on 1-2 recruits, your team will be terrible.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||Walton is not elite||
He is the definition of average. Better PG's in the B1G: Trimble, Koenig, McIntosh, Mason, Bohannon. Literally the 6th or 7th best in a 14 team league, and it's a down year for the league as a whole.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||Only Sparty has injuries||
Only Michigan State has injuries in basketball. Caris LeVert and Derrick Walton have played in every game for Michigan over the last 4 years.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||Couple things||
I wouldn't start selling their decline in basketball just yet, as I have witnessed this midseason malaise from them before only to watch them turn it around and go on a tear.
Also, I would not start selling this as a 1 year thing. They have 4 freshman, but 1 is likely gone after this year and they lose 2 key senior contributors. I know they have a good class coming in next year, but they still won't be able to compete with Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, etc.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||0 points||
we scored 0 points in OT against Sparty, 2 against Wisconsin and 2 against Illinois. Played 5 OT games that year and went 1-4, flip that to 4-1 and we probably make the NCAA but at worst are a #1 in the NIT. Tough year with injuries, but we really weren't that far off, just struggled in crunch time.
I do think that is why we could surprise down the stretch, I feel like our offense could be lethal in crunch time, just need to keep developing Wilson and Wagner.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||next 4 games||
Need at least a split, really hoping for 3-1. Win the 3 home games and give Sparty all they can handle at the Bres.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||wish||
This is easily fixable. Start the conference season in December and everyone plays on weekends and byes only occur during the week. Play 5 games max during week, all 7 pm starts. Three on BTN (Tues, Wed, Thur) and 2 on ESPN (Tues and Thur). Problem solved.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||Lunardi is largely considered a joke||
5dimes has a prop bets on Lunardi's accuracy. Pays 7 to 1 if he gets all 68 teams correctly and pays 3 to 2 on a over/under at 66.5.
In most years there are 10-12 teams vying for 6 spots. Vegas is telling you that Lunardi will most likely get 4 of the 6 spots correct = 66%. He is a failure propped up by the establishment. His track record is awful, hence a 12-8 MSU team with 2 top 50 wins on the 7 seed line.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||next 4 games will tell the tale||
Indiana, @ Sparty, Ohio State and Sparty.
Go 1-3 and start making plans for the NIT.
Go 2-2 and tournament hopes are on the ropes, but not dead.
Go 3-1 and probably going to be in the tournament, no play in.
Go 4-0 and the bandwagon will be full.
And honestly, I wouldn't be surprised by any of these outcomes. One thing I will note, is that the bubble is really weak this year and outside of 5-6 teams, there are very few really good teams in college basketball this year. It will be a wild March with tons of crazy upsets.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||just curious||
Which 2 to 4 teams of Amaker's should have been in the tournament? I will spot you 2006, but outside of that it's a tough sell.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||It really is a shame||
If Caris stays healthy he, the last 2 years would have looked a lot different. I have only seen 1 player dominate a road game for Michigan like Levert dominated that Illinois game last year, and that guy is Jamal Crawford. I think Caris has a bright future.
|4 weeks 6 days ago||7-11 seems optimistic?||
They will be favored in 6-7 of their remaining 12 games. Projecting that out, you get a 8-10 record. How is 7-11 optimistic. I will eat a whole bag of lemons if this team doesn't win 7 B1G games.
|4 weeks 6 days ago||The End||
|5 weeks 2 days ago||Prediction||
All of you are way too pessimistic. Big W for the good guys tonight. Irvin has a career night.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||Interesting||
But I literally just watched Coleman-Lands miss back to back wide open 3's. Shitty happens, but I think that 3's made against us will regress to the mean.
|6 weeks 4 days ago||Great article||
It's a shame what happened to Caris at Michigan. Injuries derailed what could have been a jersey retiring type of career. Wish him nothing but the best, and I am betting on him to be rookie of the year. Only 20 at 35 to 1, but let's hope I am collecting my money in june.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||Lions win||
16-13. You heard it here first.
