Our labs name is Schemey...after Bo of course. As others have said stay away from naming them Bo as it creates confusion in its similarities to "No," and personally I feel it's unfair to your new family member. Not defending Fickell’s decision to kick the FG at the end of the 1st half as it still didn’t give them a 2 score lead, but Ramzy is incorrect as OSU had 0 timeouts left at the end of the 2nd qtr. If OSU’s attempt to punch it in failed, they would not have had time to spike the ball and run the FG unit on the field. |

Taclcelm; “Trying,” is the key word. Unfortunately the NFL should have simply held Pryor accountable by ruling him ineligible instead of trying to hold him accountable with such a lax compromise. It amazes me how the NFL, a league concerned so much about its public image especially following the lockout had a chance to make a statement and not undermine its own rules by simply ruling Pryor ineligible. Yes, I’m a Michigan homer, but what value does Pryor have in the grand scheme of things to warrant the NFL bending their own rules. |

Most would say rows 30-50 are ideal, but for 2 years my season tickets were Row 3 / Section 19. I have since moved higher, but sometimes I miss the feel of being so close to the field. Being that close and due to the vantage point everyone young and/or old were on their feet majority of the game which is the way I feel it should be. 1st trip down to seats with a family member or friend was always a neat experience as they were always amazed at how close the seats were to the field. I think Section1 / Row 15 would be a great place to be on gameday. |

Bentley2121, How long have you been a season ticket holder? Capacity at Lucas Oil Stadium is around 67K and with the amount of tickets offered to the general public today it's doubtful newer season ticket holders will be offered the option to buy tickets, but then again I could be completely wrong. My estimation is the section 1's of the world will jump on these with the newness of the Big 10 championship game. |

The UM golf course is 10x better than AAGO. I tailgated there for the Iowa game last year for the 1st time. Prior 4 years I parked @ AAGO when tailgating. Long story short, they charge $10 less, they don’t pack you in like sardines, they’ll let you save as many spaces as you want for stragglers in your group, and they could care less if you back into your spot and/or pull into your spot to setup shop. This coupled with the parking attendants being so much more cordial and helpful it’s an easy choice. Not sure if there’s more entrances, but I enter off South Main which is basically 75 yards before the entrance to AAGO so the added walking distance is a mute point IMO. |

Why are you worried about QB? Yeah we missed out on Zeke, but Gunner seems to be interested as well as a few other quality prospects. As Cbus 91Wolverine has stated please do not name your puppy Bo, it’s too similar to “No” and will confuse them. It will hinder your training greatly, and in my opinion is extremely unfair to them. aawolverine also is correct in stating that sticking with a two syllable name is best. If your dog is still a pup the 1st 3 months after bringing them home are the most important so be prepared for the dedication needed early on. I strongly recommend you read a book called “Family Dog: A Simple and Time Proven Method,” by Richard Wolters available at most local libraries. While dated it offers a wealth of knowledge on how to raise your pup and the time you need to spend with him/her while he or she’s still growing. Also while I’m sure there’s a better way I could pass this along here’s small socialization checklist you can use during the 3 months I eluded to above. He/she will be socialized plenty using the below. MEET • toddler • young girl • young boy • teenage girl • teenage boy • another puppy • older dog(s) • cat(s) • farm animal(s) • person w/ motorcycle • person w/ bicycle • person w/ stroller • person in uniform • person wearing glasses • person wearing a big hat • person wearing strong perfume • person w/ an umbrella • person mowing their yard • person using a hose • person using a power washer • person in a wheelchair • person using a cane/crutches/walker HEAR/SEE • baby crying • people shouting • thunder • siren(s) • blender • fireworks • loud music • vacuum • train whistle • car starting • blow dryer • blow dryer • garbage truck WALK • over a bridge • on a sidewalk grate • up and down stairs • through tall grass • in shallow water • on gravel VISIT • veterinarian • pet supply store • playground • drive-thru • lake/river • beach • construction site Lastly below are (4) other posts on potential name choices…. For what it’s worth my lab is named after Bo, but his name is Schemey and he's one of the best things in our life. http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/dog-names-relation-michigan-athletics http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/quick-help-michigan-dog-names http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/dog-names-michigan-fan http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/very-ot-need-help-michigan-football-related-name-new-kitten |

It's NCAA tourney time and be it coach Coach K driving Chevy’s or Izzo in Capital 1 ads why wouldn’t they jump at the chance for face time, can’t hurt with recruiting right? All in all I think this is just a feeble attempt by Capital 1 to pull in a “face” and play off the hypothetical questions of who would win in a battle…the Vikings or the Spartans. First, I doubt it's conditional being how early we are in the recruiting process. If Hoke & Co weren't sold on Godin I tend to think they'd hold back offering while focusing on establishing their relationship with O'Brien and seeing where that took them before laying down an offer to Godin to entice O'Brien. Secondly I doubt the staff wants to set the precedent with any high school coach especially those in Michigan that in offering their kids there are certain "conditions." |

| 2 years 35 weeks ago | Yes, Bowden is gone, but the |
Yes, Bowden is gone, but the whole coach in waiting was a huge problem. Over the pasted few years it seemed Bowden would be coming back for 1 more year only to return yet again. Jimbo was the coach in waiting for a decade it seemed. With the University finally making a decision as to the direction of the program the recruits now know who’s ultimately running the team. It seemed towards the end the cohesion between Bowden and Jimbo started to erode and in regards to the players if daddy didn’t tell them what they’d want to hear they’d run to mommy. Outside of that every major program will always maintain interest in the eyes of elite recruits. Look @ Notre Dame, yes they have great academics, but the city of South Bend has nothing to offer, the weather’s nothing to brag about, you have to live in the dorms all 4 years, and their program’s been a bigger joke than FSU has of late. All in all let’s be honest the majority of elite level recruits are looking on what program will get them into the league not if they’ll be graduating with honors. There will always be a 1-2 yr bump in recruiting when a new coach takes over a traditional powerhouse. If Jimbo doesn’t put it together on the field recruits will starts looking else ware. |

I think the attrition has more to do with our lack of experienced upperclassmen the past few years, not necessarily something going on behind the scenes. It’s difficult when you come in as the bright shiny new toy and then a year later a newer, more shiny toy comes along. When you have a cupboard full of experienced players in front of you from the get go it’s an easier transition to come to the realization that you’re going to have to wait your turn. Imagine if you’re up for a promotion and it’s between yourself, a co-worker who started a year after you, and one who has 10+ years of tenure. Aren’t you a little more salty if the individual who started after you gets the promotion instead of the colleague with more tenure than you both? |

| 2 years 36 weeks ago | For anyone wondering, |
For anyone wondering, there’s no secret to “mgoblue7’s” process of being awarded season tickets. As I noted above I was able to attain season tickets with 4-5 priority pts $400-$500 donated. “Mgoblue7,” was able to do it with even less. There’s tickets out there for anyone who wants season tickets and is willing to maintain the yearly PSD, it’s quite an easy process, just make sure you submit your contribution form by the 2011 deadline once its released. |
| 2 years 36 weeks ago | Your friends are doing |
Your friends are doing something incorrect, if they're still waiting on season tickets after 10 years. I would guess they added themselves to the list, but didn’t continue to donate to build up a few pts and I emphasize a few; as not much is needed to get season tickets in my opinion. A 1 time donation of $500 will score them Endzone seating @ a minimum. They would of course need to continue the PSD to maintain that seating year in and year out. |
| 2 years 36 weeks ago | Use this form as a starting |
Use this form as a starting point. This is the 2010 version, a 2011 version will be posted after the season with the new deadline. http://www.mgoblue.com/auto_pdf/p_hotos/s_chools/mich/genrel/auto_pdf/dev-psd-form-2010 First off I started with 0 pts as I'm not an alum of UM. I started by donating $100-150 total each yr...not per seat @ the end of the 06 season. Upon my 1st donation I was offered the "Go Blue" pack, now referred to as the "All-in" pack. I increased my yearly donations to $200-$250 per year, and last year I was offered renewable season tickets. I believe I had 4-5 priority points at the time I was offered renewable season tickets. Based on your alumni status I would feel if you make the minimum $100 donation next year you'll have the option to acquire Endzone seating @ the least. Granted it sounds like you have bigger seating aspirations, but it appears some others with more relevant experience in terms of premium seating etc have answered those questions below. All in all this is the time to get your season tickets, as others have noted, the down economy coupled with the performance on the field has resulted in an abundance of season tickets in my opinion. In my 4 years of being involved with the process I have never seen more marketing by the University for season tickets and “All in” packs than I have during the past two years. Please keep in mind the looming project of widening seats within the stadium this offseason which I believe results in less capacity, but I could be wrong on this front. |

I often park in businesses for free by Howard Cooper Audi / Porsche on South St street as I’m usually coming in on I-94. You may think this is a far walk, but I can arrive 30-45 minutes prior to kickoff and walk about 200 yards to the Brown Lot I believe, where the Michigan Tennis Courts are located (Varsity Tennis Center2250 S. State St. Ann Arbor, MI 48104) and take the free game-day trolley through the back nine of AAGC which drops us off in front of the clubhouse for a short walk up to the stadium. Trolley runs up until kickoff and starts back up after the game. After the game I’m back on the expressway in no time. |

I’ve taken the liberty to reply to the 1stfew posts in hopes my response will be somewhere near the top and not lost within the 150+ comments as I’m disappointed and/or dare I say disgusted in the negative response(s) cast Justin’s way, all without knowing his true reasons for transferring. Maybe I’m a bit partial b/c he’s from Massillon and I grew up listening to my grandfathers stories of playing for the Tigers himself. But regardless of whether or not he was the 2ndcoming of Woodson or was going to develop into a contributor behind JT Floyd this season; he still was a part of our team and I feel deserves the respect associated with at one time being a Michigan Wolverine. I fully expect Justin to exit just as he entered, with class and held in high regard. I know it’s hard to see the glass ½ full as a result of the past few years, and even though this is an unfortunate decision I wish not to have happened… I’m confident Justin’s decision will in more ways than one contribute to and shape his future success, as well as contribute to the success of our team moving forward. I wish Justin the best of luck in his future endeavors both on and off the field and I’m confident our staff’s track record in working through these “opportunities,” will only make us stronger. |

| 2 years 40 weeks ago | Over the past 4-5 seasons |
Over the past 4-5 seasons I’ve experienced seats ranging from row (3) to row (90) via the formerly known Go-Blue package and/or season tickets. Unfortunately, my season tickets for the past (2) years has been located in row (90) and not row (3). I mention “unfortunately,” in reference to row (90) as despite an increased viewing angle you’re up in no man’s land for lack of words. It goes without saying that there are more variables than just seating location that go into making your game day experience, but I feel sitting as close to the field as possible changes your experience completely. I say this b/c if you’re a fan as described by “blazefire” than you want to be down low. More times than not fans in the upper bowl don’t feel the need to stand up and cheer as much b/c of the increased viewing angle… it’s just a different culture up there. It’s so lackadaisical that I often feel bad about standing up after a big play b/c it takes so long for the wave of people standing and cheering to make its way up (90) rows, and by the time is does, we’re usually past the euphoria of the play. If I was pressed to make a complaint or two about sitting down low it would be that at times the camera men get in the way, and you’re usually looking for the crowd’s reaction if we’re going in for a score and you’re on the opposite end. Outside of that the chills one gets being down low in one game exceed those tallied an entire season by sitting up high in my opinion. As a side note I was fortunate enough to be moved down considerably this year, and if you’re looking for the best of both worlds I would try to get somewhere between rows 20-50, and the press box side is always preferred. |

I’d assume chances are 60/40 between a noon start and a 3:30 start. PSU @ Iowa has the night slot that evening so that’s out of the running. If we're 4-0 headed into the game it'll greatly increase our chances of getting the 3:30 slot, but I’d guess OSU @ Illinois has a slight edge for that slot. |

Granted his interest in pursuing an engineering degree has been noted, but it’s nice to hear a recruit put some meat behind those aspirations instead of providing the proverbial recruit-speak of “looking for strong academics.” With him noting his interest in Purdue due to their engineering program you know he’s focused on academics… maybe even more so than football. As others noted above, sounds like he has a great head on his shoulders and would be a welcome addition. |

Tater; Not defending the excuses of Davie, Ty, and Chuck, but 1 major component that has changed since the days of Lou despite their NBC contract is that ND isn’t one of a select few on TV regionally and/or nationally anymore. I believe this to have been a huge recruiting tool in the days of Holtz. Ontop of that I believe the implementation of scholarship levels was just starting when Lou was heading out, thus the playing field hadn’t exactly been leveled yet. |
| 2 years 48 weeks ago | “The only difference |
“The only difference between me and the guys on athletic scholarship is that their requirements had to do with the field, and mind had to do with the classroom - right?” So the requirements for you to maintain your UM academic scholarship were the same requirements used by UM football for their players to stay eligible on the field? I guess I find this highly unlikely as I would have assumed you were held to a higher standard academically to maintain your scholarship. I could be wrong, but it’s my understanding athletic scholarships are renewed once a yr and that no player is guaranteed a (4) yr athletic scholarship by simply signing a LOI. With the assumption and track record of most institutions honoring a scholarship all (4) years despite it not being a requirement and for university’s not named Alabama how does one determine if the player is living up to their expectations once arriving on campus and performing on the field to earn their paycheck? Are we going to base it on how many stars Rivals and Scout gave them? -):

| 2 years 48 weeks ago | The Mick; Michigan |
The Mick;
Michigan schedules cupcakes b/c it’s quite difficult to get programs to waive the 1 for 1 home and home agreements between most universities. Scheduling Delaware State allows Michigan to bring in another sellout crowd to the Big House as well as pay DSU more than they’d ever fathom making @ their place. While I’m not a fan of playing inferior opponents, most top programs have to schedule D-1AA and lesser D-1 teams to fill out their schedule year in and year out without giving up a home game in the future to keep the money flowing.
Lastly I’m also a fan of stronger OOC games, but there’s a fine line to be walked when it comes to the regular season not mattering as much. I love March Madness, but I can also say I don’t pay attention to the regular season b/c of it either. Heaven forbid college football turn into the NBA with Shaq or better yet the Celtics sand bagging it to get ready to make their playoff run. Would you still pay to see Michigan play on Saturday if the 3rdstringers were playing b/c RR sat out the 2-deep a week or 2 before the NCAA playoff in order to get healthy? |
| 2 years 51 weeks ago | Dahblue; Not really posing |
Dahblue; Not really posing any arguments to your post, more so just putting some thoughts down. While I agree OSU stands to look more favorably on the (1) and done recruits and maybe way’$ of attaining them, Matta does very well with recruiting a team and not just a player. This reduces his exposure to the rebuilding process most college coaches encounter when focused on the (1) and done players . This differs from the likes of say…Calipari or Roy Williams who I feel without the yearly influx of (2) or (3) Five Star recruits would achieve the success OSU has seen. I’m sure there’s someone I’m forgetting but outside (1) and done Oden and Conley I think it could be argued recruits such as Turner, Diebler, Lighty, and Buford are the reason OSU is where they are today. I know you’re not stating we should cater to the $1000 here or $2000 there and I completely agree, but ironically what led me to becoming a Michigan fan wasn’t Bo or Desmond, but Jalen and Juwan. Neither here nor there, but outside of the Fab Five scandal what I enjoyed most about college basketball was that it was fopa to leave college any earlier than your junior year…unless you’re Webber. This allowed fans to identify with their team and its players. We can still do this in college with Football, but not so much with Basketball. All in all this is why I’m excited JB is our coach and not a Calipari or a Williams. Granted it will probably benefit the Calipari’s and Williams more so, but here’s to the NBA mandating an older age limit for draft entry to better NCAA round ball in all facets. |

Tom from AA; Are you implying Ohio has a better talent pool to fill the needs of all the Ohio schools listed or are you implying OSU has an easier time pulling in the home grown talent b/c of the schools you listed? |
| 2 years 51 weeks ago | PhillipFulmersPants; |
While I agree Ohio’s talent pool has increased; I still feel the state of Michigan has more talent to draw from in terms of basketball. JB shouldn’t have to go any farther than Matta does. While it’s disappointing to not pluck a top level recruit from one of our neighboring states, especially Ohio, I think in terms of basketball…MSU is our biggest obstacle in recruiting and locking down the state of Michigan, but most importantly the PSL. I attribute Matta’s success more so to capitalizing on the state of Indiana and the lack of success IU has had of late, coupled with the Schottenstein. |
| 3 years 2 weeks ago | My issue with seating is that |
My issue with seating is that when I donated the minimum $100 a year and was awarded the “Go-Blue” package aka “All-In” package (non renewable seats) a few years back I had the same seats each and every game; I was in the Blue tier 5 rows from the field. Only reason I’m pointing this out is b/c I know that in some instances the non renewable seats change from game to game. Now that I’m a season ticket holder and donate more a year (granted 9K is way too rich for me) I’m still in the same section I was in when I had non renewable tickets. Before you mention I have to donate more to get a better section…I know and I’m fine with the section it’s just I’m up in the nose bleed rows with a guy who falls asleep during the game and people who barely get on their feet during 3rddown. I guess my point is more donations don’t always equate to better seating in regards to improving ones seating within the same PSD level. I’m tired of calling in and getting the same response year in and year out of…”just put your requests in the comments section of your ticket order and we’ll see what we can do.” I’d rather them say if you make a (1) time donation of XYZ we’ll move you down into rows 30-50 of your section, and then you can keep those seats. All in all I’d love to just have my “Go-Blue” seating arrangements again, but they were non renewable even though I had the same seats each game. |

There’s also no way UM would allow a 2010 night game supersede the anticipation and notoriety of the 2011 ND game, couple that with Iowa being the opponent and there’s no way it’s happening. |
| 3 years 2 weeks ago | Everything about acquiring |
Everything about acquiring and/or improving season tickets is vague, and if you ask me that’s by design as in my opinion there’s no real rhyme or reason on improving seats etc....but that’s another subject. For what it’s worth though if you donate $100 this year you’ll get the option to purchase (2) season tickets. This is what I did during the Henne and Hart years (so not exactly “down” years) and I waited only (2) years before being offered true season tickets. During the (2) years in waiting I still went to all the games excluding homecoming as I was offered the “Go Blue Package,” which is now called the “All-In Package,” and now includes homecoming. As far as a timeline you will need to submit your PSD donation by February 15th2011 (this date may have changed to a few days sooner), for the “chance” to be offered 2011-2012 season tickets. Call the ticket office and ask them to send you Form 305220;”Preferred Seat Donation Waiting List & Annual Contribution Form.” After you submit your PSD donation using the above listed form, you will be notified by a yellow envelope with a Block M via mail by the end of April as to what you were awarded be it renewable season tickets or an “All-in” package. You will then have roughly (2)-(3) weeks to sign up for that option and tickets when then be mailed to you in August. |
| 3 years 2 weeks ago | If you'd prefer Endzone |
If you’d prefer Endzone seating over the Blue tier I would suggest calling into the UM ticket office and reviewing this with them. In all actuality the Blue tier is considered the better seating area. I’m assuming due to your $400 donation you were offered this option opposed to Endzone seating which you probably would have scored with a $100 donation. As you noted in your post to renew Blue tier seating on a year to year basis you need to make an annual PSD (preferred seating donation) of $125 a seat, but for Endzone seating that amount goes down to $50 a seat. It’s also worth noting if you only donate the $50 per seat next year as opposed to $125 they could move you into the Endzone seating due to you not submitting enough in PSD funds. Based on experience it’s unlikely as even though you’d think they’d be patrolling the donations limits they’d much rather not deal with moving people. I’ve been donating $75 a year is PSD funds and still have maintained my Blue tier seating. Nothing like 50% off. If you don’t mind me asking what general area in the Blue tier have they offered you? I’m in the Blue tier, but higher than I’d like to be and have tried numerous times to request lower seating without any luck. |

I’m sure “jcgold’s” suggestions would work out just fine, but for what’s it’s worth I started donating $100 dollars in 2006, so not exactly a “down” year. I think in 2007 I sent in $150 and each time I was offered the “Go Blue” package which allowed me to purchase tickets for every home game excluding homecoming which is usually a cup cake big ten school anyway. In 2008 I was officially offered season tickets. Don’t ask me how as despite all the literature and priority point systems in place there’s so much gray area in the ticket office it’s ridiculous. Long story short if I lived in DC I wouldn’t even worry about season tickets if you’re only planning on making it in for 2-3 games a year. For every $50 OSU ticket you get so you don’t have to pay $100-$125 to a scalper there’s also that $50 Delaware State ticket you have to try to sell that you’ll never get face value for. |
| 3 years 6 weeks ago | It's a $100 a year for (2) |
It's a $100 a year for (2) seats if you want to maintain your "Endzone" seating, if you want to improve your seating by upgrading to the Blue, Maize, sections etc you will need to donate more per seat to maintain them. For example based on the above examples to maintain your Blue seats you will need to donate $125 per seat, for Maize you need to donate $250 per seat. |
| 3 years 6 weeks ago | "ontarioblue;" The"All In" |
"ontarioblue;" The"All In" package took the place of the formerly known "Go Blue" package if I remember correctly. "Go Blue" packages in the past allowed the ticket holder to purchase tickets for every home game during the season excluding homecoming. My seats never changed when I carried this package, but other package owners often noted their seats changed from game to game. I think last yr was the 1st yr the "All In" package formerly known as the "Go Blue" package included homecoming most likely due to the recession and the lack of season tickets being renewed. I feel pretty safe in stating that the “All In” package will still be available this year, but will more than likely exclude homecoming once again if ticket sales have picked up again. |

I’m actually surprised @ Irish’s comments as yes, those are nicer places than TGI Friday’s, but for some classy dining there’s an array of choices from Main Street Grille in downtown Mishawaka to LaSalle Grille in downtown South Bend (make sure you grab some cocktails on the 3rd floor @ Club LaSalle…probably my favorite place in South Bend), and if you’re looking for some history try the Tippecanoe Place in South Bend. All I can only assume in defense of the individual @ the student union is that that were in fact a college student who for the most part doesn’t have $100-$150 to drop on a dinner for (2) at some of the places I listed above. All in all yes S.B. has some deficiencies and one could pretty much accomplish everything they wanted in a matter of (2) weekends, but until you reside in the communities of 15-20K surrounding it, you realize it has more to offer than the picture you’re painting. You never see ESPN reprimand him for the “hurtful” and/or “inappropriate;” comments he makes about Tiger, Ochocinco, and/or Manny etc. I think ESPN’s statement… “Tony Kornheiser’s comments about Hannah Storm were entirely inappropriate. Hurtful and personal comments such as these are not acceptable and have significant consequences. Tony has been suspended from PTI for two weeks. While I appreciate the "swagger" a recruit like Dorsey will bring to Ann Arbor, one of the most important notes overlooked in the article was the statement by Trieu in regards to M. Rob. “On top of that he has a stone-cold demeanor on the field. He takes the game seriously. I watched him at a 7-on-7 in Orlando last summer and even after he made a great play -- jumped a route and ran an interception back almost for a touchdown -- he still had the same stern look.” Granted this is just (1) example, and you can call me old fashion, but I have a great amount of respect for players…especially 17 and 18 yr old players who act like they’ve been there before. |

Tom; I caught up with this tread a little late, and I know you mentioned in your post that Williams is considered one of the best prospects in OH for the 2011 class, but with that being said do you put him up there with the likes of...or should I say "hype" of a Depriest and/or Tanner per say? Basically is he another T. Talbott or is he a legit top 5-10 Ohio prospect? Also is Michigan looking @ him for NT or more so a 3-Tech D-lineman? All in all I know he's still developing, but I guess I'm a bit skeptical of his development as Springfield is far from being a powerhouse program. Yes it plays in a D2 conference, but one without much notoriety outside the existence of Sylvania Southview the past decade, further reinforced by the program finishing a disappointing 3-7 this past year. All in all I know one player doesn’t make the season for his team, and we know all to well how good coaches can have some tough years early on, but just questioning how much “hype” Williams warrants. |

| 3 years 17 weeks ago | To me it sounds like you want |
To me it sounds like you want more of a party, while your wife wants a more subtle yet classy atmosphere. With that being said I think we can all agree that when the wife’s happy your happy so take my thoughts for what their worth. Based on experiences and preferences I’d pass on the Derby and head to KY a few weeks early, but to Lexington not Louisville. Lexington is home of Keeneland which only runs in April and October. I’m not trying to hate that much on the Derby, but Keeneland exudes an air of class that the Derby just doesn't have with everyone on the infield in their wife beaters, throwing up, passing out etc, which by all accounts will be were you end up. Not based on who you are, but more so based on the fact that this is your 1st go around. Granted my college days are over so been there done that; and I don’t feel like watching someone else do it or be forced to deal with it either. Yes the Derby has millionaires row and mint julep’s, but have you ever had a mint julep…not that great. Anyway at Keeneland try to score club house tickets $20 a pc, but well worth it, and if you do you’ll need to make sure you have a jacket and tie on. If you can’t get into the clubhouse; general admission only costs $2 a person, but it’s more crowded. The big weekend in April centers around the “Bluegrass Stakes,” and I’d recommend staying downtown @ the Hyatt located in conjunction to Rupp Arena or renting out a Bed and Breakfast on the main drag leading into downtown so you can head out after dinner and/or the races. Make sure to eat @ “Murray’s,” a quick cab ride from the track after the race, and hit up “Cheapside” for drinks to finish off the night. p.s. "turbo cool;" the FL vs GA game i.e world's largest outdoor cocktail party would give the Derby a run for most beautiful women @ a sporting event IMHO. |

As for all the others worrying about #'s I seriously doubt we have anything to worry about in the event Dorsey, Parker, and Baxter all wanted to commit; as we'd find room one way or another without having to leave anyone on the outside looking in. I just contacted the website I linked above as it appears they specialize in the Sandisk product. I talked with Eric Beaudoin 1 of three sales reps, and he stated as well as their website that if the data can't be recovered it's free. Since my drive is 4GB the flat rate cost is $125. Not exactly how I want to spend my money, but well worth it if they can recover everything. I'd assume the same policies apply for hard drives etc. He said they recover in upwards of 90% of the data, long story short he's a sales guy, but he did have some impressive technical knowledge, and he made me feel a bit more warm and fuzzy inside as opposed to the Geek Squad. |

FGB; I think the OP put in the disclaimer of "vast majority" and not "all" in his post, but with that being said and while I agree that we can’t read these kids minds, I would tend to agree that the OP is spot on with his assessment that “the vast majority” of top talent are concerned more so about getting into the league as opposed to the long term benefits of a college degree. If we blindly polled these kids I feel their top (2) reasons for selecting a school would be #1 programs that will aid them the best in attaining their NFL aspirations…i.e. positive exposure…i.e. winning and then #2 proximity to home. Is this really any different than us factoring pay and benefits as the (2) leading reasons to accept a job or change careers? |

"dmblue;" Good suggestion and I think this solution has come up in the past, probably around the same time last year. Not that I'm opposed to it in anyway, but I feel most of the community would still click on the "OT" tab after viewing the "New" tab simply b/c there's not enough info to address our fixations with UM during this time of year, so by default we'd look into the OT tab b/c we enjoy the board so much. Guess I just feel while this is a viable solution for all those up in arms about "OT" posts, in more ways than one I see it being a wasted step. |

"StephenRKass;" Maybe I’m misinterpreting your gripe, as you state you only see 8-12 posts on the board’s front page, and have to use the arrow key to go to past pages…but I ask then; what do you do during the season? There's way more posts during the football season, than they are now. During football season traffic to the site is at its apex, and I for one have scrolled a good 3-4 pages just to keep up with everything that was posted that day. Filter out the OT posts from then and I’d tend to think I’d still be scrolling at least 2-3 pages. Now during the offseason I’d be hard pressed to say I’ve had to scroll more than a page and ½ unless I took a small hiatus from the board. Granted the OT posts are more prevalent this time of year, due to everyone's boredom, but so are recruiting posts. All in all I’d have to say during the offseason Brian isn’t going to be turning away visits to the site by limiting posts be it on or off topic. |

With the course opening up @ 8:00 it throws a wrench in tailgating for the day if there’s a 12:00 kick-off IMO. I along with my wife drive 2 1/2 hours for the games and if it’s a noon kick-off we’re making the trip in for only the game as opposed to bringing all our gear and setting up for the pre-game festivities before hand. As I eluded to in regards to my situation the commute for myself and other some season ticket holders can be in excess of 2-3 hrs and couple that with packing up your gear etc it makes for quite an early departure if you’re one of those making the trek to AA if you live afar. |
| 3 years 21 weeks ago | "DoubleB;" I tend to disagree |
"DoubleB;" I tend to disagree that players matter more than coaches. I’d take an elite coach over a top 10 recruiting class any day. Rich Rod didn’t build his success @ WVU with elite level talent, nor did Urban Meyer @ Utah, Kelly @ Cincy, and/or day I say Tressel @ tOSU at least early on. Look @ schools who underperformed with well documented talent prior to the new coaching regimes. Now with Bama under Saban, Florida under Meyer, and in my eyes the Cornhuskers under Pellini, both have turned these programs around in a very shot period of time, granted some in lesser than ethical ways than others, but as much as I hate to say it; the majority of fans at the end of the day look at wins and loses and sacrifice the ethics involved in getting there. I for one am glad our University and coaching staff is not one of those. |
| 3 years 21 weeks ago | As previous posters have |
As previous posters have alluded to in separate posts be it the possibility of injury, the possible rookie salary cap restructuring, to possessing the intangibles the scouts covet one could say that a perfect storm of positive circumstances has arisen for Mallet given a yet to be determined favorable grade by the NFL powers if you will. I for one agree that another year of college ball would prove beneficial for his development, but not more so than getting drafted late 1st round and sitting behind a proven veteran for a few years as did Brady and A. Rodgers in their development. Another year of college will help him hone his skill set a bit more, but making the jump to the league now would prove even more beneficial in his development both physically and maybe more importantly mentally. Yes for every Brady there’s a Roethlisberger, and for every Roethlisberger there’s a Stafford, but the key is as “bleedzblue” alluded to earlier that if he stays and improves his stock, he’s more than likely headed to a team in 2011 that needs him on the field from day 1 which usually equates to poor teams with weak organizational support for continued development. |

I appreciate the sentiments very much and despite looking at Humane Societies and Pet Rescue Shelters early on my wife and I decided to work with a breeder. For what it's worth though my wife did rescue a cat a few years ago, but we can tell even though she's a wonderful animal that she was unfortunately abused as a kitten and those certain tendencies she has have never completely ceased. With a dog bringing more responsibility IMO I wanted to make sure we new exactly what and who we we're dealing with in welcoming a new addition to the family. I have plenty of friends who have gone the rescue route and have ended up with wonderful animals, and others who have had some challenges. All in all as much as it’s saddening to see what’s happened at the shelters due to the economy affecting the owners, I decided against gambling on this one. |

Granted ND’s toiled in mediocrity for the last decade, but I feel they’ve realized through the smug and arrogant Weis that “image,” is just as important as winning; and I think in comparing both Edsall and Kelly, that all would agree Kelly would more than likely win more and win sooner than Edsall, but that Edsall would present a better image and spokesperson for the University as well as build a solid foundation for continued success in regards to the University and not just the Football team. IME Kelly; with some of his baggage is 1 dimension, but Edsall, while maybe not the stronger X & O’s choice is multi-dimensional. |

"Ezeh-E;" couldn't agree more in regards to Carvin as evidence supported by the recent interest of LSU, but more importantly his high school has more so been a feeder; if you can call it that to schools like La Tech, Tulane, Kentucky etc over the past of couple years...not exactly a powerhouse program like Mooney or Skyline. Further reducing the likelihood we're taking Carvin for any other reasons outside being a great prospect that can help this defense in the future. |

I do however like the Edsall call, more so b/c I think he presents the “image” that ND would like to continue portraying more so than some of the baggage that comes with Kelly. Edsall throughout the turmoil’s @ UConn this past year showed everyone the type of character he has. |

The anchor will always be the fastest, in my experience the 2nd leg has always been your weakest link. I would say the 1st leg edges out the 3rd leg just a bit, but it's splitting hairs in those regards. One also has to note that a tactic at time employed is to place your smaller guys on the edges (1st and 3rd leg) since they have less of a stride to really take advantage of on the straight aways. You can’t put much stock in ones individual time though during a relay since time can be cut or added during the exchanges. |

"ramverine79;" Kelly has plenty of negative pub in regards to fitting in as well, be it his pro-choice beliefs, his dealings with certain situations @ CMU etc. ND is more than likely coming to the realization that they've been tolling in mediocrity for 10+ years and for the most part will have to sacrifice a few character flaws to get back into contention IME. |
| 3 years 23 weeks ago | Granted there'd be changes, |
Granted there'd be changes, but the revamping of ND's offense wouldn't be as great of an uphill battle as Richrod had in changing UM offense due to Kelly's version of the spread being more pass oriented and not as reliant on a true dual threat qb. I agree that either coach would be a step in the right direction, but I think it's splitting hairs as to who gets them up and running faster. |
| 3 years 23 weeks ago | We as fans and the Michigan |
We as fans and the Michigan Athletic Department need to realize that “Maize-outs” barley work for warm weather games in which anyone of us could pick up a $10 tee let alone should they be expected to work in late November games when the temperature is usually in the 40’s, and most of us are bundled up under heavy coats and blankets that just don’t seem to lend themselves to the color Maize. Bottom line is “Maize” aka Yellow isn’t going to be worn all that much outside the confines of the big house. If one looked in my closet they’d come to find I have only (2) Maize Michigan T; compared to another 15-20 shirts that are Blue, Gray, and/or White. People don’t want to spend a few dollars let alone hundreds of dollars on apparel that’s yellow to keep warm in. There’s a reason why we don’t have Maize Jersey’s….it’s just not that flattering and/or intimating. The only way the Athletic Department is going to get this to work is if they supply the fans with free Maize Apparel on their seats for them to wear during the games, or they come up with a catchy name that promotes us to wear our Blue attire. |
