This is a classic wings move. Everyone is out of their prime aside from Murray. Both players will be hungry to win the cup smart moves by crosbys daddy. Best team on paper but that doesn't mean you win. Was hoping the wings would send franzen packing for someone big but oh well. Wings won't compete for the cup for a few more years.

I got hit so hard playing NMU my shin pads and helmet turned all the way around all to set up a two on one. Everything turned white what sucked was my teammate miss handled the pass and gave the puck back to me. I shouldn't have popped up but I always did no matter how much it hurt.

There's no set schedule it will be completely random. I'm sure they will show it because he's spotlighted there. A good showing and he can put him self solidly in the second round.

Coach B feels the Bigs are athletic enough to cover smaller quicker players if you have the athletes to do it switching is usually the better idea. Michigan hedges a lot too.

They are not sound fundamentaly on man defense. Players hands are low all the time, they dont close out well, footwork is bad etc. All those little things matter we have athletic kids not to mention that we have a lot of youth and teams like IU and State and wisky have vets who can expose you at will. The effort is there but the technique is not. This is either from the staff or the kids are just that bad on defense. They could just be that bad because when you are an elite high school player you dont have to play defense like you do in the big ten. Very rarely do you play someone as talented as you so you get lazy and bad on defense.

• No I never said he wasnt good I said I hope he can add weight. That was all. My opinion is fine. He is fine right now in high school but undersized if he were in college. Thats my opinion. I knew a ton of kids who couldnt add weight playing hockey and never could go very far because they were too small. It happens a lot.

They at least command a back to chip or a TE but he's not just an after thought like oh here's a warm body on the DLine. Yeah I know it's tough to dbl team guys like that but a guy who alters game plans is better than just a warm body attempting to push people around.

No it didn't Roh got slow and awful. Lewan is a tackle and doesn't need the same elite quickness not to mention has a larger frame to distribute weight.

Michigans D-like recruiting has been guys who won't be elite pass rushers. Clark might be able to round out to an average big ten DE. Mario might be able to if he can add weight but that's it. No one else on that roster is gonna be able to put pressure from the edge and command a double team. A great pass rusher can totally alter a teams game plan. Everything would become more effective. If you say hand is elite and will be that guy I trust you. I didn't know that most of the top DE's now were his size in high school. This is more of me frustrated with not getting someone who's a great pass rusher/ an athletic DE. Teams set the edge on us so easily it's pathetic.

I didn't say 35 I said 25. The kids good I just don't want another anchor at DE. So here's to hoping he can add weight and stay as athletic. I can't stand our DLine recruiting the last 5 years it's awful. There are zero play makers.

Lewan was slightly a project. Craig Roh is awful and is hand is Craig Roh then go recruit someone who can actually get pressure

Those elite programs also can recruit 25+ kids every year and afford to whiff on kids because they have talent already and depth.

He wants fans to know he cares. He's helping set his mindset and the teams for when they play again. Sports are wayy more mental than anything. Having the correct outlook on things is positive. The team can lick their wounds and come back fighting or pack it in. He sounds like he wont let this happen. It's a tweet its all part of college athletics. THJ wants to say it let him. Good for him for stepping up and doing what he feels he has to do to carry them.

How do you get his skill level there. Make him play it. He won't learn it playing the spot he is now. What's there to loose? Nothing. So yeah it makes perfect sense. Drew miller and Abby aren't exactly defensive stand outs either. Nor is bert or Franzen or hell even Quincy. Let the kids play enough with this crap clearly the awesome defense we have looked amazing last night.

The wings need to stop calling up the young kids that are grinders and start calling up the talent let them play a long side datsyuk and hank before they are too old. Having them in the AHL does nothing after a certain point Gustav Nyquist is at the top of the league in scoring down there he gets it he's mastered the AHL. How do you get better unless you play against the best. You've got to stop signing drew miller who's pointless and guys like that who can't score and can't do much of anything. There is no potiential with guys like him. Nyquist, Tatar, Jurco are talented and the faster they can learn the NHL the better. Detroit doesn't have the team to challenge for the cup this year anyways might as well see what we got in the tank. Cleary, Franzen, Bert I mean these guys are old and not able to keep up. Speed and size win in today's NHL. They used to be good but we gotta stop holding on to the past and move on.

Going after weber wouldn't have done anything in that series. Bert did and Weber is a big dude he can hold his own. No one goes after Sid more so than anyone else and the people who do don't pay a price. Fighting is cool I love it its fun as a player but I mean yeah you get punched a few times so what it's not gonna make you stop. Or the guy doesnt fight back and then doesnt get a pent and the fighting team is shorthanded. Now a good hard open ice check will alter how you play. But fighting doesn't alter how you play. Playing hard I'm front of the net grinding down people in the corners being hard on teams d on the forecheck and finishing your checks will but fighting doesn't mean what it used to. The rules and the way the game is played is completely different than "back in the day"
