They talked about this during the game. But not in as much detail,I am so glad I read this story.
What that team and town went through, and to win the game that they were over matched in. That is why you play the game... And why I love sports. Thanks for posting the story.

Went from happy to sad in denard speed! thanks, I was having a great day. Dick!!!!!!!!! Another reason why most people should think before they post. just bad. not funny! 

Grew up watching Michigan Replay. I loved it. Then I got to work on the show as a intern in 1995. It was Lloyd's first year. During the week I would go though a stack of tapes and pick high lights of the top qb,rb, wr, dt, lb, and db. Brian Hartley(producer) would give me a list of names and numbers of the team michigan was playing the next week. I would find good or great plays made by these players and write down the time code on the tape.  Brian would edit the segment highlighting that team. Lloyd and jim would talk about michigan's next opp.

 On game day I would sit in  a ch. 2 truck with a tape deck and record the game and log the time codes. writing down each play and the time it happened on the tape. Bob Lipson(owner, director, creator of michigan replay) would be taking notes in the press box, on what plays he wanted to show. At half time Brian would take the 1st and 2nd qt. tape and drive to southfield and ch. 2 to start editing the plays together.

At the end of the game I would grab the tapes from the 3rd and 4th qt. and run to my car, trying to beat the traffic and drive to southfield. we would wait for Bob Lipson to get there later with the sound from the locker room. They would edit game footage and sound, and all the other segments they worked on during the week as we waited for Lloyd and Brandy to get there.

 I would make copys of the run downs of the show for Brandy and Lloyd. And then sit with Lloyds wife to watch the taping of the show. It was great. Lloyd and his wife were very nice. This might be the only time that Lloyd and his wife could have some time togther during the season. They always went out to diner after the taping when michigan was home.

The away games  were a different story. It was always late at night and long hours hanging around ch. 2. waiting for the team to get back.

It was so cool to be apart of a show I grew up on. 

He is young, He might change the way he thinks, when practice starts. Most of these kids have dreams of the NFL. That is not a bad thing. I hope he reaches his goals.

I worked the game for the home broadcast. I ran the hand held camera under the basket, pistons bench side. It was crazy. There was 3 broadcast that night (home show, visit, and espn) So there was at least 20 to 25 cameras in the building. So many different looks or angles of the fight. ESPN being there live did not help. They could get info on sports center right away and give their view to the world right then and there. There were police in the truck looking at footage. I brought my camera out to the truck after the broadcast was over and then was locked out of the palace for 30 min. The back hallway to the locker rooms was on lock down.

Its funny that we are talking about this today, last night I worked the pistons game and stuckey got fouled hard and a there was a little pushing and words were said. I took 2 steps on to the floor and stoped. There is a rule in the NBA now that if a fight breaks out you can not go on to the floor. (not just players, camera guys too) It made me think of the brawl  On that night of the brawl there were at least 8 hand held cameras on the floor. and everyone went out on the floor. Because of the brawl, they made this rule. It was crazy! I was pushed by a pistons asst. coach and told to to get the hell out of here.(pistons bench) I also remember Mahorn trying to break it up. So many people to blame. It was crazy to be part of it, but it is sad too,my footage is part of history. I just wish it was for something good and not a negative moment in time.

I am working for ABC, when I checked in the cheerleaders were checking in. the staff of the hotel is wearing ohio hats. I asked the girl at the desk if they were forced to wear the hats? She said yes and she was not happy. If some one pulls the fire alarm, it will be ok. I will not be sleeping any way I am so pumped for this game!!  Beat ohio!

My wife and I work all the pistons games. so if they dont play we are out about $25,000. I will be able to pick up some more michigan and state b-ball games. But it will not make up for all those games lost. Yes the NBA sucks and needs to be fixed. but it will be at the expence of the little people that are just trying to pay their bills. The people that broadcast the games(like me, camera guy) ushers, food servers, parking. Everyone that works in that area around the arena will be affected. 

One of the camera guys on his show, is a friend of mine. he loves him. He is great to work with, and has great info on both teams. He takes this job very serious. He brings in film that he broke down to the camera meeting. He does this so the crew can pick up keys and things to look for while shooting the game. 

I hope he stays at espn. He is a great coach and a great recruiter.  Him not going to osu is good for Michigan. Urban is working the Michigan game this week. Go Blue!

That was my shot.  It was funny his mom or dad did nothing.  I would have told my kids to stop or not to do that. Good job posting it. I just happened to shoot goldy and the kid started to miss with him.

last time they were here it was outside the stadium. In the parking lot behind sec. 32. I worked for them running one of the cameras. It is right next to the tv trucks for the game. I wont be there this year. so bummed. I was on the espn show for the game, but had to get out of it. I have to work in traverse city for 7 days for the NHL prospects games. CGD is a great show to work on. long day (18 hours or so). great money. great crew, and the host are nice too. 

I am a camera op. I work all the pistons games. And half the redwing and tigers games. I also work alot for the BTN. Once you get the blog going you should check into getting a media pass, for some of the games. When ever they start playing again. If you live in the area. Good luck with the site.

Everything that I have heard from people that work at the palace is the lock out will happen.

That is bad for the league, and fans, and myself( I am a freelance camera op.) If they dont play, I dont get paid. I hope this does not happen. I have heard that it will go to january, or the whole season will be lost.

The owners and players will fight it out, and the real people that will suffer are the people that work at the arena and local resturants.

Nice guy, but it had to be done. He lost the players.

Gary moeller played at OSU. And Bo coached there. For some people it just takes time to come over to the good side. Tressel may do good things for kids and go to church. He still lied. and he has to go. If Kirk and Chris dont belive in him, that tells me all I need to know.

If it's in the hand book then they dont show it to the camera men and women. I work events for the BTN and ESPN, and no one has ever showed me  anything. I hate these lifts. any move ment makes you feel uneasy. I was only told to ware a harness(so you would not fall off the lift) If the lift goes over you are screwed. I have been on these lifts for many sports at michigan and michigan st. It is sad what happened to the kid at ND. I bet he did not want to make the coach's mad, so he did not say anything. He just tweeted it. I have been on these lifts and not felt safe. But you dont want to say anything to make the director mad. Not any more! If I am working and dont feel safe and anyone gives me shit for it, all I say is Notre Dame. I know the schools care and the networks do to about safty, but I think people get to busy and just say get it done or make it work. And a kid is now dead. Because no one took the time to say wait a second. This is not a good idea. 

I loved FNL.  I watched this season on the 101 on directv. Great season and great show. I will miss it. They did a real nice job of ending the show. It is a little different than the movie. Both great. If you have not watched the show you should. I loved the book, movie and show.  Full eyes, full hearts, cant lose!

I grew up in hamilton mi, about 10 min. away from fennville. also a small town. this is so sad. thoughts go out to the family and his friends. so sad!

 I love that he is speaking up. Maybe some things will get changed.

I liked bob too. Loved him and keith jackson together. Brian is realy good too. I worked with him at the Illinois game and he was great. The ESPN crew that works with him every week love him. He is following dads foot steps.

I hope it is gores, I am a freelance camera op. at the palace and the joe. I want the pistons to  be #1 on the mind of the owner. If it is Illitch, they would be #3. Would love for the wings to have a new arena, the joe sucks for tv, and many other things. I dont see the pistons moving down town for a long time. I could happen some day. but not the near future. If it is gores he is getting the palace with the team and pine knob. Why would he move them down town? He only moves them down town if the $ is right. At the palace it is all his, he does not have to share with anyone. It has been very quite at the palace the last couple of weeks. I hope it gets done soon.

Hard knocks is great. They should use that clip of cromartie talking about his kids as what not to do when you are in school or the Pro's.

I will ask around about the show. My friend runs camera for the new show. I will have him ask what the plans are. They might not know yet. I bet it is in Hoke's contract to get paid for a coaches show. I was a intern on Michigan replay in 1995. It was cool to be part of some thing I grew up watching. I miss the old format too.

Bob Lipson was the producer of michigan replay.  It was crazy we would tape at ch. 2 in southfield at all times of the night. If it was a road game it would be like 2am.

Lloyd would bring his wife to tapings and then go out to diner after the show if there was time. They joked that this was the only time they could see each other during the football season.

This why RR taped the shows on wed. so he could hang out with his family on sat. night.

I think they changed the format to update it. All the games are on tv. so you dont have to break the game down as much. Less highlights, more parts of the show on the players. I will let you guys know what I hear. Go Blue!

I think he was one of the guys that was out of shape entering fall practice. I worked the fall practice for the btn. and he looked out of shape. he was one of the guys running after practice. and he is a red shirt freshman. I hope he steps up in the bowl practice. 

ohio st. had a lineman play in the game. and was in school a few days later. Brewster maybe? I hope we get a couple of commits during the game. Go Blue!
