I would stay up-to-date, but you might run the risk of "getting in trouble."
Fortunately, I am getting married in A2 tomorrow and then tailgating and going to the game with my wife on Saturday!
Best part: it was her idea.
Worse part: she's a Spartan.
Worst part: a lot of my friends are trash-talking Spartans, including my best man.
I told her if Michigan doesn't win, we're getting an annulment on Monday and she'll have to wait until next year. I was only kidding, though. Mostly.

Wow. Read Blazefire and The Fannman's posts again and ask yourself "what is the likelihood of anything good coming from my sacrifice?" I realize the dynamics and politics of the workplace are a factor, but you should think about getting the right people on your side and fighting this one - or you may pay dearly for someone else's mistake.
Remember, years down the road as people and positions change, there may be no one to remember the context of the situation. The paperwork will probably not say, "Reason for termination: Blue in South Bend is a hell of a worker but took the fall for H.R. Fuckup, Jr's huge ass clerical error." This is especially true when H.R. Fuckup Jr. is the one who fills out the paperwork.
You should at least ask about these issues and you definitely deserve a better explanation than "something about a paperwork screw-up."

I started my second go 'round as a lacto-ovo-vegetarian two weeks ago. I've lost about 4 lbs. since then. It always seems that people are one extreme or the other when trying to be healthy. I think the video below provides an interesting - yet simple - concept for those who aren't ready to give up their juicy steaks.
The idea is to eat vegetarian during the week while allowing yourself the meat option on the weekends (vid is about 6 minutes).

[edit: that could come across as more dick-ish than I intended. I just don't see where your argument is coming from. I prefer not to count Tate out based on his freshman season and the fact that many other QB's struggle. I also think the "lack of competitive drive" is completely bogus.]

The creditor was screwed over as well as Rodriguez and other guarantors. Who does the creditor have the best chance of getting his money from - the criminal debtor who defaulted or the guarantor(s) making millions? Although not always involving criminal investment schemes, this is an everyday occurrence in the business world.
This has absolutely nothing to do with being guilty of a crime or conspiring with shady charactors.
Terrible timing though.

RR frequently alludes to competitiveness and probably creates a more competitive environment than Carr did. If this is the case, the players that aren't used to RR's philosophy and lack the competitive "edge" may feel that it is more about business than family.
|5 years 2 weeks ago||The RR comment didn't seem||
The RR comment didn't seem nasty. Not getting along happens; you can't please everyone. A lot of other people have praised the program for its family atmosphere so this doesn't really bother me.

There were a lot of other factors in those games besides Long, Henne, and Hart's leadership abilities.
I don't think that you mean to say this but you seem to imply that they would have won those games if they were better captains. I think we can all agree that that's not the case.
|5 years 3 weeks ago||I agree that defined||
I agree that defined parameters would help and a visual reminder is a good idea but I don't think that "-1" should be reserved for just trolls.
Sometimes there are bad posts that reach a "-1" level. These can include inappropriate and overly offensive remarks (I used "inappropriate" and "overly offensive" because, sometimes, people deserve to be called dicks). Other times, there are not just flawed arguments but ridiculous arguments like, "I bet you couldn't bench as much as _____ or run as fast as _____ so I'm right and you're wrong."
With this said, I have yet to use the thumbs down button since the masses deliver justice pretty swiftly.

|5 years 6 weeks ago||+1||
That's the only time I've ever posted "+1," but I had to. I do like an alternative join-date factor, however, a post minimum could spark more involvement (and yes, more "+1's"). If I really wanted to start a topic, it would not take long at all to rack up 20.
Unfortunately, this also goes for trolls as well. It's kind of like a lock: it only keeps honest people out. An motivated troll will find a way regardless of the preventative measures.

I see what you're saying. I agree that specific questions need to be asked and that these questions were legitimate. I have no problem with the questions themselves; I just felt they could have been phrased better. I do admit that when I read the interview, I sensed a tone that was probably nonexistent (due to my defensiveness). My opinion was more of a gut response to the questions rather than an analysis of the interview.
However, I was thankful to read the interview and because the questions were frank, I am thankful that Threet is the stand-up guy that he is reputed to be.
|5 years 12 weeks ago||I respect Threet for handling||
I respect Threet for handling the interview well. A few questions were meant to draw some negative comments toward the coaches and Michigan in general.
I don't mind honest, tough questions but the phrasing of some of the the questions seemed like backhanded insults to Michigan. I'm probably just being subconsciously defensive.

With this negative hoopla, I hope that perception and reality are not in line.
This what I was also getting at when I commented on Route66's piece. I was particularly pointing out that the fans' perception is likely different from the teams reality. However, its not encouraging to see team members joining ridiculous facebook groups.
Unfortunately, perception can be just as damaging (e.g., stock market, politics, and cults).
|5 years 15 weeks ago||I don't see how this is good||
I don't see how this is good at all. I know that they are kids, but I wish they knew how unprofessional and damaging this is.
I'm glad the team has Tate's back but I wish it was shown in a positive way or in this novel approach: in practice and on the field.
I wonder if anyone on the staff monitors this stuff?
Also, is anyone aware of college team backlashing against a recruit? I'm sure it has but things are quite different in the facebook age.
|5 years 15 weeks ago||Regarding the comment about||
Regarding the comment about how "we are just getting into the groove with a QB" and the RR wrench. I think "we," as in the fans, just became comfortable.
I highly doubt that the team is phased by this. If the team is having a nervous breakdown over this "wrench" then there are more serious problems to contend with.
Sorry if this was already stated. I just got home from work and don't feel like sifting through all the Paulus posts.

Steven Segal IS an officer of the law in E.L. and he's out for justice.
|5 years 16 weeks ago||I agree.||
I lived in East Lansing for four years and the police are certainly part of the problem.
I had a similar experience. About six friends and I were between bars and an officer stopped us. There was a report of a fight and he wanted to make sure it wasn't us (it wasn't). He asked (told) us to stick around. We were understanding and cooperative. We actually had a friendly conversation with this officer while he waited for backup.
While we were conversing, Chief Wiggum showed up like bat out of hell. Before assessing the nonviolent situation, he jumped out of the car and immediately said, "I just got new taser and I have no problem testing it out on you guys!" Wow. Thankfully, nothing escalated beyond a couple ill-advised smart-ass remarks on behalf of my friends.
The point is, the ELPD does not have a good relationship with the students and they don't seem to making any attempts to improve the situation. This certainly does not excuse mindless assaults or destruction of property on behalf of students but you'd expect middle-aged, "professional" officers to conduct themselves well - professionally.
