I'VE HAD JUST ABOUT ENOUGH OF YOU SONNY
|8 weeks 4 days ago||I may be too optimistic, but||
I may be too optimistic, but I think this team will improve in every game that we play. This is a trend in every Brady Hoke team that we have had. They improve throughout the season. Look at last year, the team that played South Carolina in the bowl game was a much better team than the one that played Alabama in the kickoff game. I think we will be firing on all cylinders by the time we reach the finale against Ohio State and I think it all started today.
|18 weeks 3 days ago||Gonna throw this out there||
Gonna throw this out there but I bet they are going to go with chrome/shiny Sparty 2012 style helmets for this game. Just a prediction from I and I but I just have that feeling (especially since it was mentioned last year at one point). All the traditionals will really hate it, but I think they would be pretty slick.
|18 weeks 3 days ago||Haha back when the Brady Hoke||
Haha back when the Brady Hoke can't recruit meme actually had some merit. Hard to believe that two years ago we were wondering if it was possible for our defense would be able to be ranked 60th nationally, or if we would be able to win more than seven games that year, or if we were going to be able to win a game if it depended on a field goal kick. Gotta love hindsight. You also gotta love this coaching staff.

If only we won that game... that clip would be immortalized like flipping David Boston backside.

Been a great year for all Michigan Sports (Tigers, hopefully Redwings pull it off).
Hopefully we do it again in 2013.
|30 weeks 5 days ago||If you think that our program||
If you think that our program is squeaky clean then you probably are an idealist. Not saying that our program is an SEC level cheating machine, but I'm sure we have a skeleton in the closet just like every other major college football program out there.

Bitch about bye weeks probably. God. Worst weeks ever.

If today's game was any indication, number 52 will not see any serious minutes for the rest of the year. A shame, but with McGary we have a player with just too much talent to not be out there for around 70% of the game.
|36 weeks 5 days ago||Marquette||
I would be pretty screwed if Marquette does not pull it out. I had them going to the Elite Eight.
|36 weeks 5 days ago||Oregon and Marquette||
Really pulling for Oregon and Marquette right know. Would give me 6 of the Sweet sixteen picks correct.
|39 weeks 3 days ago||Vintage||
I've gotten some really awesome vintage M gear off of Ebay. I have one of the cool knit hats the alumni wear (the cap with the knit ball on the top) and a 1998 RoseBowl champions sweater.
I was looking and still looking for any Orange Bowl memorabilia. That would kick ass.
|42 weeks 1 day ago||Makes you wonder||
Makes you wonder what happened that made him have such an about-face.
Recruiting at the BCS level is just so corrupt and crooked that nothing really should be out of the question anymore.
|42 weeks 1 day ago||Understood||
I understand that, but it's not like this is the most important decision he will make in his life up to this point.
If you were still undecided... why decide in the first place.
|42 weeks 1 day ago||Don't get it||
I just don't get it with this kid.
My head hurts. I guess if he picks Michigan it will all be worth it.
|42 weeks 1 day ago||Just plain strange||
Just plain strange. Is this what recruiting is coming to. If you were going to decommit so quickly... WHY DID YOU COMMIT IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Although... This couldn't have happened to a classier program /s
Let's hope he picks the guys in Maize and Blue and keeps that commitment.
|42 weeks 5 days ago||Maybe||
Maybe you are all being a little hard on him? He got solid playing time on a solid defensive unit. That alone should give him credit for being a solid player as a TRUE FRESHMAN. This kid is only going to improve.
Perhaps we should have a thread on the real suprise from the 2012 class: Ojemudia who had more playing time despite needing more size and technique.
We really are spoiled with that 2012 class... So much talent. Can't wait to see how the 2013 guys play, but overall, we can tell that the 2012 class will be solid/significant contributors for another 3 years.
|44 weeks 1 day ago||...||
I'm sorry having a differing opinion than you makes me a Sparty.
I've been a Michigan fan since the fourth grade, so I am not going to argue with that.
Honestly I hope I am wrong, but I just do not think Morris is going to be as good as Gardner is and will be.
|44 weeks 1 day ago||I am not a big fan||
I am not a big fan of this approach if it is indeed true.
I think we should have taken a second QB in the 2013 class (I am not sold on Morris being the long term answer), this means that we should take 2 in 2014 and possibly 2015.
Assuming Gardner doesn't get the redshirt for 2014 this is our depth chart:
RS JR Bellomy
RS(?) FR Morris
Not very ideal, but I guess thats why they pay the coaches the big bucks.
|45 weeks 6 days ago||Word.||
The only way this could be better for Michigan fans who hate ND is if it turns out that it was Braxton Miller posing as Lennay Kekua and then Miller and Te'o get into an epic fist fight of the ages only to be simultaneously destroyed by Bo Schembechler riding on a Wolverine while Brady Hoke screams TREMENDOUS.
|46 weeks 3 hours ago||What's amazing||
What's amazing to me is how this is the sidestory in the sport's world right now. With the Teo scandal/what-the-hell-is-going-on-here-ordeal I just would never have guessed that this sack of shit and his one testicle could admit to cheating for all these years and it would be second place in terms of shock value in sports today.
Either way, glad to see him fall, when a story is too good to be true, it's most likely too good to be true.
P.S. --- I hope his charity changes its name.
|1 year 7 hours ago||Slick||
Those are just slick. For all the 'traditionalists' I hope we get a uniform that cool in the near future.
P.S: The ones we wore against Bama were also pretty sweet.
|1 year 2 days ago||Shame||
Just a shame he never reached his potential as a monster athlete. Great guy none the less based of his interviews.
|1 year 2 days ago||Matter of perspective||
I personally think that Teo is what the Heisman should be about. An extremely talented Senior leader leading his team.
Woodson was great, but he was on a Defense with so much talent that it did not rest on his shoulders alone to carry the team.
And I brought the "I am not an ND fan" thing up because I just don't want people on this blog to think I am a ND troll.
PS: I totally respect what you are saying. I am not trying to knock it down, just saying my own opinion.
|1 year 2 days ago||Don't want to start any flaming||
But you should have understood what I was meaning. Teo has the leadership skills AND the athletic superiority that few can claim to have. If you think I am an ND fan, I am not. I just think if ever there was a second Defensive player to win the Heisman, it should be Teo.
|1 year 2 days ago||Michigan fan||
I have been a Michigan fan since I was in 4th grade.
I was a Freshman in high school in 2008. My two lasting memories of that year were the Wisconsin comeback and the Ohio State game.
I remember Michigan men, the players, fighting with their own coaches. There was never any doubt in my mind since then, that Rich Rodriguez never was going to be the answer. It was a devastating day.
I grew up being told by my dad that Lloyd Carr was a great man, and to this day I remember the players carrying Lloyd off the sideline after the Capital One Bowl.
To tell me I am less of a Michigan fan than you are because I was not a fan of a coach that lost his team numerous times is sad. I am a Michigan fan, but not a fan that follows blind faith. If I ruffle some MGOBLOG feathers, sorry. I love this team, I will not forgive Rich Rodriguez for turning something that I loved into a joke, a punchline in the sports world.
That's all I have to say in response to that.
|1 year 2 days ago||Well by that logic||
Well by that logic... yes.
Teo came back to Notre Dame because he said that he wanted to experience being a senior and a leader on HIS Notre Dame team.
I do not mean to take away what Woodson did for us, but a Senior Leader leading his team trumps a FREAK ATHLETE who is a junior.
All a matter of preference.
|1 year 2 days ago||Absolutely kick ass||
Absolutely kick ass. Made my night.
|1 year 2 days ago||Another year||
Thank god we did not have him coaching our team another year, it is clear that a vast majority of players consistently did not like him.
Just look at the talent on that 2008 defense, how did they underachieve so badly?
You are only as good as the man who leads you.
|1 year 2 days ago||Senior Leader||
Senior LEADER on a great team trumps being a FREAK Athlete but just a junior.
It might just be me, but that is what makes the difference.
|1 year 2 days ago||Do not be suprised||
Do not be suprised if Wormley and/or Strobel get significant playing time backing up JiBreel.
Godin will get playing time too, so should Willie Henry.
Hoke seems to be the type of coach that seems to be anxious to get his guys on the field.
|1 year 2 days ago||I hear what you are saying||
I hear what you are saying and I respect it. But I think the Heisman should go to the player most important to his team.
For example Bush won in 2005, but many (including myself) think it should have gone to V. Young.
It just, to me, should be based not just upon athletic skill, but how you lead your team with that athletic skill.
|1 year 2 days ago||If ever||
If ever there was a defensive player that should win the heisman besides Woodson, it would be Teo. Just a great kid (man) and the heart and soul of his team. This might be blashphemy on this board but I personally think Teo meant more to 2012 ND than Woodson meant to 1997 Michigan.
HOWEVER... Woodson definitely is/was more talented. Juding off importance to a team is what the Heisman should be about, not simply stats.
|1 year 2 days ago||Touche||
Touche, good sir.
|1 year 2 days ago||To be honest||
To be honest, I am/was not entirely sure if he really was on scholarship.
Either way, the transfers that we have seen under the Hoke coaching staff are probably not a bad thing. Looking at how the 2012 class did this year, it is encouraging to see more and more of Hoke's recruits on the field.
|1 year 2 days ago||Hoke||
I'm sure coach Hoke is not devastated by having another spot open so that he can get more players that he recruited into this program sooner rather than later.
Let's be honest.
I don't mean to be "That Guy" who brings it up, but it wouldn't shock me the way that modern college football operates.
|1 year 1 week ago||I hear what you are saying||
But Bell has simply disapperaed against their quality opponents (Michigan, OSU, ND)
|1 year 1 week ago||Bell + Gholston||
Two of the most overrated players I have ever seen. Especially Gholston. MSU is simply lost without Kirk Cousin's smart, consistent play.
|1 year 1 week ago||ND||
We shut down ND's passing attack. They are #1 team right now. We have/had a pretty solid pass defense. Heck, we even kept Miller in check pretty much after the opening TD. Maxwell at MSU also seems to be a decent QB, and we shut him down completely.
|1 year 1 week ago||Very familiar||
Very reminicent of OSU's schedule this year.
A couple of breaks go our way and we are looking at 10-2, 11-1, or 12-0.
Hopefully that UCONN game stays in Connecticut (Easier to acquire tickets if it is not at a neutral site.)
|1 year 1 week ago||No further questions||
|1 year 11 weeks ago||Bryant||
We could really have used Chris Bryant this year. He would have been 1st off the bench if not a starter by now.
|1 year 11 weeks ago||Pray not||
Pray that we do not see any freshman with significant playing time on OL. (That does not include Jack Miller who I belive is a RS Freshman).
I already have nightmares of one of the starters going down and young Kalis or Magnuson getting lost at such a young age with the type of defenses that we have to play upcoming.
|1 year 11 weeks ago||I just think this year is just a down year.||
Look at how much talent the big 10 lost last year and in 2010. Ohio State lost Pryor, Herron, Posey and many other playmakers (ignoring off the field problems they were simply a stacked team). Wisconsin lost Wilson. MSU lost Cousin, Worthy, ALL OF THEIR RECIEVERS, their LB in 2010 (forgot his name lol), Iowa lost McNutt, Stanzi, Robinson, Coker, Coulianos, their DE from 2010 (also forgot his name), Rich Rod depleted our defenses between 2008-2010 we are starting to see the lack of playmakers from Rich Rod's classes with Hoke starting to play mostly freshman (Bolden, Ross, Ojemudia, Pipkins).
All in all, the Big Ten lost so much talent in 2010 and 2011 that this year is a rebuilding year for the entire conference. When Michigan and Ohio State's 2012 and 2013 and possibly 2014 classes are most of the players on both of the two teams then the Big Ten will have two solid top ten teams.
|1 year 11 weeks ago||#14||
We will be fourteenth in a couple of days. Glad to see how the landscape is shaking out.
|1 year 11 weeks ago||Even Sparty||
Even Sparty is looking not so great apart from their defense. If we beat them we are in Indy and probably pasadena.
|1 year 11 weeks ago||Yeah...||
In other news Wisconsin is down 14 - 3 to UTAH STATE OH MY GOD THE BIG TEN SUCKS THIS YEAR.
|1 year 11 weeks ago||wasn't...||
Wasn't Lawrence Thomas supposed to be a LB coming out of High School?
Why is he playing on Offense?
|1 year 11 weeks ago||Brian Kelly is an asshole||
Way to put your QB out to dry...

Way to call out your QB lad.

I own multiple maize and blue windbreakers. I love them. Long live the 90's!
|1 year 15 weeks ago||Never forget||
|1 year 16 weeks ago||If that was an SEC Game||
Watching that made me think of something Mac Brown said. But if the Sugar Bowl was matchup of two SEC teams, it would have been hailed by the ESPN guys as a "matchup of two superspeed defenses that are far and away the best in america" not as an ugly offensive performance.
Remember when Alabama had the WR throw the pass that was picked in the game.
Not ugly offense, but AMAZING SEC DEFENSE.
Just shows how the media fuels the SEC hype.
|1 year 16 weeks ago||Cousins says....||
I don't see how you get punished for playing the fourth-place SEC team and someone else gets to sit on the couch and watch Big Brother win the Sugar Bowl.
|1 year 16 weeks ago||Roses||
We will be out in Pasaden with that 12-2 record.
Losses to Alabama and Purdue for us I bet.
National champs are 1-Loss USC beating 1-Loss Alabama
HOWEVEA 1-Loss LSU will still try and claim a title despite not making its conference championship game, because , you know, they are in the SEC, which is decisively better at football than everyone else with powerhouse teams in its conference like Florida, Mississippi state, Ole Miss, Vandy, Tennessee, Kentucky, and now Missouri and TAMU(!)
Clearly a slate of teams like that in a single conference makes it a far superior conference and therefore just as worthy to be a co-national champion despite not winning even its division.
|1 year 17 weeks ago||RichRod is....||
Rich Rod is a terrible football coach.
Sorry, but the truth hurts.
He had success with his offense yes, but his defense was so horribly incompetent. That it could be masked by a thing even more incompetent than itself, being the Big East conference. Case in point is the Pitt game in 07, and everygame we played in 08. When he is forced into a defensive struggle, or his offense cannot score points (the entire 08 season), his team will fold.
Look at the talent on the 08 defense. Don Warren, Terrence Taylor, Brandon Graham, Will (?) Jamison, Brandon Harrison. And look at the talent he had on offense that year that he either failed at creating a good offense from or drove away, Mallet, Boren (sorry I had to bring him up guys), Brandon Minor, Carlos Brown, Junior Hemingway.
I could look way more up but I did not.
The point is, Rich Rod clearly was not popular among the players. Just look at the transfer rates among Carr's clases and HIS OWN CLASSES (08, 09, 10).
Another good example is Will Campbell. Five star recruit who was basically ruined by Rich Rod's defensive incompetence. Or JT Floyd. Picked on all year in 2010, dominates AJ Jenkins (first round pick) in 2011.
Rich Rod was not a great coach, he was not a good coach. He is a ACC or Big East level coach AT BEST.
Thank god he is no longer coaching a program that I loved and that he ruined for three painful years.
|1 year 18 weeks ago||Couldn't agree more||
Couldn't agree more with you. There is a reason that when trying to get out of the BiG XII, Missouri's first choice was the B1G over the SEC. It's because this is the greatest conference in College football. Celebrating it by putting a small logo on the jersey is not going to ruin our tradition, it will build on it.
|1 year 18 weeks ago||Actually...||
I am actually a big fan of the having the B1G logo on the jersey.
I've ived in the midwest all my life, so B1G football is a huge part of my life, and it is great to see all the teams embracing the B1G and midwestern culture, that makes us unique as a conference.
PS: I also am a fan of having the B1G logo on the field as well. Even a traditionalist program like Bama has their conference's logo on their field.
|1 year 19 weeks ago||Make it stop....||
This is by far the most horrible story I have ever had the displeasure of watching unfold. I can only hope that all the parties involved can move on.
Problem is that's way easier for me to say than one of Sandusky's victims who has had their ENTIRE LIFE ruined by this sick sick tradgedy. I can only hope this story ends quickly and that it is all resolved before it could, dare I say it, get uglier and more horrible.
Death penalty or not tormorrow, I just want to finally be able to refer to the Penn State scandal in past tense.
|1 year 19 weeks ago||Time||
Time keeps on ticking.... almost done with day #41...... only 4 hours until we are on day #40.....
The blessing that has been in disguise for us Michigan fans is that our program is not in the news... period. That means that we are back to where we belong, as a solid, consistent, and nationally competitive team. Under the Rich Rod disaster we would be in the news consistently with transfers, alumni backlash, and other shit. Great to see that stability has returned to Michigan.
|1 year 19 weeks ago||I can't believe||
I can't believe it is almost here already... the start of the 2012 college football season!
Just seems like yesterday we were getting to know that Brady Hoke guy who suddenly was our new head coach.
I hope this season will be a breath of fresh air after an offseason marred by the Penn State scandal.
Hopefully we are 41 days away from a season that will end in Pasadena........
|1 year 25 weeks ago||Looking Back||
Looking back at the 2008 recruiting class really brings a tear to my eye.
-Stonum... we all know the story
-JB Fitzgerald...career backup
-Terrence Robinson...career backup
-Cissoko...we allknow the story
-Kurt Wermers...? (rated 78 on ESPN)
-Elliot Mealer...career backup
Those were all four star guys.
The best contributers besides Martin and Barnum were the three star gusy, ala Roundtree, Omameh, Koger and JT Floyd. Looking at 2009 is just as depressing if not more. Bottom line is Rodriguez really failed at developing these players into Big Ten football players. They were developed into Big East and Sun Belt level, which will usually only win you 6 games against a Big Ten schedule.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||Playoffs||
I think this playoff talk is all just a fad. Remember how after the 06 season when their was outrage at how there was talk of Michigan and Ohio rematch in the NC game in Glendale? It resulted in no playoff system. Just tough talk and propositions. It never materialized. I belive that this current talk of a playoff system will end up just the same.
The real cause of the problem was allowing Bama a chance at winning a NC game that they did not deserve to be in. That is the problem right there.
Had Oklahoma State gotten in, there would have been no controversey at all, because they were the second-best CONFERENCE CHAMPION to pick from after LSU and the winner of the game would have deserved the title.
Instead we watched Alabama win a fake national championsihp, that is a national championship that they did not deserve to be in.
PS: That's why in hindsight, I am glad that Michigan and Ohio did not have a rematch in 2006 because for that Michigan team it would have been an almost lose-lose situation because had we won, We would have heard the "well you didn't win your confrence" argument (A valid point too) and had they lost, we would have been hearing all the Ohio fans mocking us for losing to them twice in one year.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||Well said.||
Well said, within a few years it will be legal anyway, so other than simply an internal punishment it should not be such a big deal.
Correct me if I am wrong, but here in the Kalamazoo area we have heard that in Ann Arbor the punishment for smoking a blunt would only be a Civil Infraction.
If so, the punishment for one of the players smoking weed should not be any different than a punishment Hoke would give out for let's say a speeding ticket.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||Michigan fan in Kalamazoo||
Michigan fan in Kalamazoo here, and by far there are more MSU fans and grads living in Kalamozoo than Wolverines.
PS: I've heard of a certain Republican who happens to be a Michigan grad. He's lived in Lansing since 2010 and will live there until at least 2014.
Just saying these are all pretty false presumptions.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||Don't disagree||
I can't say I disagree with you, but the "felony doesn't really sound bad" comment really put me off. That's the type of things we will quote MSU forums and laugh about.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||Devil's Advocate||
Being devil's advocate doesnt:
"I know felony SOUNDS likea big deal, but in this instance, it really isn't"
Isn't that what we accuse MSU, Ohio, and ND fans of saying whenever their kids get into legal trouble? Not good for our program. If a Sparty fan said that about one of their kids just imagine the uproar here.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||My Mistake||
My mistake, regardless, he would have continued to be a distraction if he had stayed here just as he was all season in 2010.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||...||
Hate to be a downer on my first post here ever, but...
I never really was a fan of him when he was with us. Seeing him transfer after RR got canned was unfortunate but also, in hindsight, much better for our program, seeing as he was one of RR's most controversial players that he brought along.
Him leaving, IMO, helped Michigan move on from the 3 darkest years of Michigan history.
Glad he is not Michigan's problem any more.
