I thought the 'Older brother vs Younger brother(C.J. Motte/Tyler Motte)" subplot was fantastic. When Red let Tyler in for the shootout, I was riveted. It gave the fans what they wanted, and that's one of the great things about college sports.

There are 8 teams in two divisions just here in the Park, and that's just for what's called '2nd Season' - 5 weeks of more relaxed baseball, very fun for the kids. Very fun to help coach and watch these kids be kids.

|41 weeks 1 day ago||Well said. Let me add that||
Well said. Let me add that "3D Printing" has become the generic term for all rapid prototype or additive manufacturing processes (objects built in layers), but the types of machines and processes that are used are as different as night and day. I have 6 laser-based Rapid Prototyping machines in my lab, and they are light years better than the $2000.00 hobbyist-based extruders that you can order off the internet. It irks me to no end when the two are lumped together!!
The device in this article was built using a Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) machine, which uses a Co2(hot) laser to sinter or melt plastic powder in 0.004" layers at a time into the shape of the part.

He is still blatantly biased for MSU and totally anti-UM. Some examples:
Sunday morning article from DS:
Even in defeat, Michigan State makes case for BCS game
This morning from DS:
Michigan didn't deserve to jump Michigan State for BCS bowl
There's a picture of Devin Gardner being chased by Marcus Rush for this last article and the caption reads:
"So Marcus Rush and Michigan State beat Devin Gardner and Michigan and went to the Big Ten title game. But U-M gets the BCS bowl?"
As his little world continues to crash down around him, one has to wonder when he will finally just have the nervous breakdown that's been building for some time now.
Note: I just looked at the headlines. I don't have any reason to read his sham-writing.

|2 years 43 weeks ago||I haven't been impressed with Wormley's||
film at all, especially for all of the hype I keep reading about him here, and have to agree that all 3 of those guys are better.
Even though I generally think that we shouldn't recruit "tweeners" (which Odenigbo may be, at least for a DE), I would take Odenigbo over Wormley without hesitation.
|2 years 43 weeks ago||Excellent point.||
I rarely paid attention to my points, which were few, as I don't post very often. They keep dropping off and soon I will have none, apparently. I don't want to try to keep my points by clogging up the board with inane posts that add nothing.
I have become a wealth of knowledge to my friends, neighbors, co-workers and even strangers when it comes to Michigan sports, mostly football. I can spout off names of potential recruits, statistics to shut the uninformed bashers up, defensive schemes and I can calmly assess reasons that things went wrong - all because I have been reading this site for about 4-5 years now.
One thing that I do provide this site is 50-100 pageviews daily. I suppose a lot of people do the same, even though they don't add much content, either. Taking points away for inactivity is counter-intuitive. Taking points away from posters for being a complete troll is pretty smart.
I just hope it doesn't come down to, one day, I get on a plane and am sitting right next to Lloyd Carr or Rich Rodriguez or Mike Boren and have a 2-3 hour conversation but am not able to post about it without having to hijack someone's thread.

seem to be initially interested in Michigan. Which is a good thing. Maybe that's why people seem to gravitate to the possibility that these type of athletes have a good chance of ending up at Michigan.
I'm gonna go grab another beer and see if anyone throws out a "book it".
|3 years 3 weeks ago||So, you're saying..||
|3 years 3 weeks ago||Well...||
...I guess you got me on that one. But considering that those guys are in their 50's, they would not be considered in what I would call the current "Pipeline".
I would rather pluck a guy like Tyrone Wheatley out of Dearborn Heights Robichaud and not hear from that particular school for 20 years than keep on taking guys from the same school that don't have any actual great impact on the field.
I just don't think pipelines are any answer for recruiting. Unless we start seeing a school churn out 5-star, high-impact, All-Big Ten caliber players year after year that only seem to pick Michigan, I think we should try to get the bast player no matter the school.
|3 years 3 weeks ago||I guess I should have clarified.||
I meant standouts at Michigan. So far, there has not been any from Cass Tech that have actually made an impact.
Boubacar: We all know what happened there, but even while he was here and playing, he was being abused by receivers.
Will Campbell: serious non-factor on the D-line. I watched some film on him at practice, and he wasn't even remotely competitive.
|3 years 3 weeks ago||Cass Tech Sends a lot of players,||
but no serious standouts. I don't think pipelines are as important as getting the best players, no matter what the school.

Denard has shown more of a moving hand-off that I think most defenders don't bite on. Once he gets that down, along with a passing threat, I can see him being almost unstoppable.

and it struck me as odd that someone would report such a low GPA to one of the recruiting websites. I really hope that it is supposed to say "3.2" instead, or one of the other schools could easily employ some negative recruiting and remind him of the Demar Dorsey situation.
|3 years 36 weeks ago||I guess the thing that surprises me||
the most is that I thought, just by looking at the types of schools that were recruiting(and had made offers to) him, that he was one of those guys who was also a serious scholar as well as an athlete. This one blind-sided me.

|3 years 49 weeks ago||Big Will Campbell.||
Having him meet or exceed his recruiting hype by this year means he would be DOMINATING. A killer pass-rush line or a run-stuff line really helps out our young secondary, and doesn't put the linebackers in position to make as many mistakes as in the recent past.

Westmalle Tripel is like the beer of the Gods. Actually, any Trappist that I have ever had the pleasure of drinking has been far superior to anything out there. Like others have stated, it's not that bad. I've had it done, and other than not being able to speedily go up and down stairs with out some pain for a week, it's one of the best decisions I've made.
If you don't do it, and Michigan loses a bid for the Rose Bowl by a missed field goal, I can only hope, by poetic justice, that, A) you are at that game; B) your seats are in the end zone, and C) the missed field goal hits you square in the balls.
OK, OK, I really don't want that to happen to you, but I'm pretty superstitious when it comes to UM.

I'm pretty sure that, by now, every other program HAS visited this issue and have found ways in which to show compliance. Memos from administration had to have been sent out as soon as this story broke last fall. The story in itself was a great deterrent. And the NCAA knows this.
EDIT: But I agree with everything you are saying. This is all just shitty.

a great "Jump Ball" threat in the end zone. Let the speedy receivers get their yards in space, moving the team down the field. When there's no 'space' left, I don't see anything wrong with throwing it up to a very tall possession receiver in the corner of the endzone.

|4 years 5 weeks ago||Not the most intellectual books, but||
I can recommend a couple:
Friday Night Lights by H.G. Bissinger. I bought and read this book in the spring of 1991 while a senior in high school. I had just finished my H.S. football career here in SE Michigan and I could not believe how different things were in Texas as opposed to here.
Education of a Felon: A Memoir by Edward Bunker ("Mr Blue" in Reservoir Dogs). Fascinating autobiography about the life he spent in and out of prison.
Those are just two that stick out this minute. Having 3 kids under age 8 hasn't given me much time to read anything of note the last few years. I'm sure some of you on here can relate!
