Most Michigan thing: Watched Braylon-Fest at friends house. His parents went to MSU, his older sister was at MSU, and he was planning on (and did) go to MSU. As much as I wanted to, I kept my celebrating down and very classy (which was mature beyond my years (I was a Sophomore in HS)).
(Honorable mention): Went to the Big Chill. Have the ticket in with a framed photo from the game.

Guilty as charged:
Backstreet Boys: Quit Playing Games With My Heart, Everybody, As Long As You Love Me, I Want It That Way, Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely, and Shape of My Heart.
N'Sync: Bye Bye Bye, and It's Gonna Be Me.
Avril Lavigne has already been mentioned.
Shania Twain: Man! I Feel Like a Women, You're Still the One, and From This Moment On.
Any song from Evita, The Sound of Music, and Mary Poppins.

Draft Order and Lineups:
Irvin, LeVert, Spike, Walton, Doyle, Dawkins, Robinson, Wagner, MAAR, Donnal, Wilson, Chatman, Lonergan, Dakich
PG Walton Spike
SG Dawkins Robinson
SF Irvin LeVert
PF Donnal Wilson
C Wagner Doyle
B1 Chatman MAAR
B2 Dakich Lonergan
I think team Blue would win. I like (just a) shooter starting over MAAR to spread the floor, giving Caris and Doyle space to work the PnR (crossing fingers they get better at this).
Team Maize is very strong offensively though. It would be a heck of a game.

They had a chance to kill off so many people and couldn't pull the trigger.
Daryl and Aaron should have been walker food during that trap
Glenn should have bitten the dust in the woods when 5+ walkers are on top of him (and he has a gunshot wound in his shoulder)
Sasha should have died a long time ago. She's past her expiration date.
Rick should have died when he had 3 walkers come after him within the gates.
Father Gabriel should have been shot by Sasha or Maggie in the church.
Morgan should have been killed by the two members of the W's to start the episode.
They aren't doing any favors by keeping all these characters alive. At the least we should have said goodbye to Rick, Daryl, and Aaron.
Another terrible finale after another uneventful season.
One good season out of five (and the only good season was only 6 episodes long).

True, and thank you for pointing that out.
For a lot of HS recruits, one big thing in their mind is which is the best school to get me ready for the NFL (and has had success at getting players into the NFL).

Yep. And it's like I can't even put a finger on what caused such a dramatic shift in the flow of the game. Once the Jackets got that 3rd goal, Pitt just turned it ON. |1 year 16 weeks ago||I believe that it's really||
I believe that it's really debatable between Michigan and Wisconsin.
We split in the regular season, and both lost to MSU in the BTT. We obviously won the Big Ten Regular Season (by 3 games), but it was another Top 4 finish for Bo Ryan and co.
So as of the end of the BTT, Michigan has the edge.
In the NCAAT, look at the teams Wisconsin beat, compared to the teams Michigan beat.
Wisky beat American (a nobody), Oregon (who finished their season winning 8 in a row, including a W over Zona; and finished tied for 3rd in the Pac-12), Baylor (a team with 26 wins, and 5 or 6 really good wins), and Arizona (who was the unanimous #1 almost the entire year until they slipped up a couple times after losing Ashley to injury).
Michigan beat Wofford (a nobody), Texas (a team eerily similar to Baylor (Texas went 2-1 against Baylor)), and Tennessee (whose biggest win was probably beating Iowa..., but looks good on paper).
So just going off of who each team beat, I would give Wisky the edge. Throw in the fact that they got to the Final Four, and that might tip the scale in their favor.
Either way, Michigan and Wisky both had great years. It's a shame one of us couldn't win it all for the pride of the Big-Ten....There's always next year...

Notre Dame, Baylor, UCLA, Wisconsin, Michigan, Kansas, Louisville, Cincy, Indiana, and Tennessee.
Now which of these 10 teams listed doesn't belong? Another way to ask it is which teams aren't going to make the NCAAT.
The odd teams out are our buddies in South Bend and Bloomington. Too bad those beautiful lime green and black uni's won't be around for March Madness.

Interesting note to make the rewatch even more interesting.
After Horford commits a charging turnover/foul, the game clock never stops running. The play happens at the 51:54 moment of the youtube video.
The infraction occurs at 11:02 game time. The clock continus to run while the play gets sorted out, the floor gets wiped down, and we make a couple subs (yes this is crazy).
Minnesota then inbounds the ball at the 10:28 mark. The scoreskeeper must have noticed a mistake because they then stop the game clock at 10:27 with the play going on. They resume the game clock 8 seconds later.
So in all, they ran off 26 seconds of game time.
I was freaking out when this was going on and was completely shocked that neither coaches or players noticed this.

I'd agree with this. My prediction would be for the ACC to win it all, but the Big-10 isn't far behind.
I just think the way Duke, UNC, and UVA are playing right now, and Syracuse is a very tough team to beat.
The Big-10 may have the same number of teams with a shot at the Chip, but I'd say their strength is stronger than ours. I'd take a trio of Duke, UVA, and Cuse over Michigan, Wisconsin, and ________ (up in the air between MSU and Iowa I guess...)

It may not even have to be an issue of a top heavy idea vs deep conference idea.
I believe that it is just the grind of playing physical Big-10 basketball against a group of very good coaches just about every game.
There is very little room to coast into a game "expecting" a win.
Yeah the top teams haven't looked like an elite team against every team in the Big-10 this year. And yeah the bottom teams have looked terrible at times, but have also looked like they could hang with anyone sometimes.
If I were to give a straight answer, I would say that the Big-10 has 2 or 3 very dangerous teams for the NCAAT, and 2-4 more that could possibly upset someone they aren't supposed to.
And I predict that a Big-10 team will go to the NIT Championship game.

1) GR3's foot hit the ground before he got the final shot off.

I was at that ND/Minnesota game. Minnesota came out fast and physical in the 1st, just missing on some quality scoring changes. After the 1st intermission, it's like a whole different Gopher team came out of the locker room. They were slow, couldn't get out of the zone, bad passes, etc.
I was hoping to see some high quality, fast paced college hockey. Instead, I saw a slow game bogged down by offsides and penalties. It's too bad. Let's just hope the Gophers can come back and win tomorrow.

There was equal pushing by both sides. But there was an obvious pull of the jersey by the defender, which will draw a flag every time. I think it should have been a holding, but they called a PI. He reached out and grabbed the inside of the receivers jersey.

Fire Borges and Funk. Today's playcalling was worse than last year against ohio. Embarrassing. What a joke. We are lightyears away from where we want to be. Sad to say, we are lower tier in the Big-10 with these fools at the helm of this team.

|2 years 2 weeks ago||You are the only one||
I am sure of this. He is way too slow. Especially in the East, where every team has speed instead of playing physical hockey. Bertz doesn't fit in the East...nah...fit in the NHL anymore. If he can't forecheck (too slow), can't backcheck (too slow), never has the puck on his stick unless someone like Dats gets it for him, then what good is he? For shoot-outs only?
|2 years 2 weeks ago||That is true||
He can't be cut while he is on the injured list. Once he gets healthy, I believe we can do whatever we want with him.
|2 years 2 weeks ago||My lines||
Hank - Pavs - Abs (only b/c Babs loves him here; I'd prefer Nyquist or Tatar)
Mule - Weiss - Alfie
Miller - Helm (crossing fingers) - Eaves (these 3 are great together)
Nyquist - Andersson - (one of) Tootoo/ Bertz/Sammy (whover is left on the team)
Smith - Kronwall
Ericsson - Kindl
DeKeyser - Quincey
Gotta split up Krons/Ericsson b/c they are just too slow. Need to mix in speed with the big bodies.
|2 years 2 weeks ago||I think||
I think everyone is being way way way too hard on Smith. Losing DeKeyser really hurt us in the playoffs. Smith wasn't perfect, but he was trying dam hard against the like of Kane, Bickell, and Toews. He was over his head, yes, but he still had his moments where he shined in that series. I'd put more of the blame on the slow forwards that couldn't help a lick in our own end, which would result in a Smith vs 2 Hawks situation.
Smith will be part of the future of the Wings D. Him and Kindl are the offensive D-men, and Lashoff and DeKeyser are the defensive defensemen of the group.
|2 years 2 weeks ago||I agree||
I agree with everything except trading Smith. Fast, skilled, offensively minded defensemen don't come around very often. He is going to be a great fit next to either Kindl or DeKeyser for the next 10+ years.
|2 years 2 weeks ago||Invest in a young defenseman, you say?||
DeKeyeser - 23
Kindl - 26
Lashoff - 22
Smith - 24
We also have a couple of big time D-men prospects in GR. So a young defensemen is not entirely something we need to focus on. We have a very very strong Top 4 all under 26 (once we lock up Smith, of course).
|2 years 2 weeks ago||Wow||
Lots of ideas you threw out there. Discussion commence:
1. Brunner: No; will explain later
2. Boyes: No. Don't need another 30+ forward.
3. Antropov: No. Gagne: No. Don't need anymore forwards
4. Don't bring back Cleary: Completely agree; don't need any more 30+ forwards.
5. Young kids. Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes again. But, you chose the wrong young kids. We NEED to resign Smith, Nyquist, and Andersson. ASAP.
And as for the young kids in GR, this whole group of kids will be ready next year (and some are even ready right now)
Tatar, Mursak, Sheahan, Jurco, Ferraro, and Glendening. We have too many aging forwards, with no room for these kids.
6. Correct; we don't need any more help on defense.
7. That would be a very terrible trade. We don't want to lose all our young kids for Stamkos.
My final thought regarding what the Wings need to do is to make a trade to clear up some cap space and open up some forward spots.
We only have 2.3 mil to resign Smith, Nyqust, and Andersson. I think we need 6 mil to cover all three. The way we clear up the necessary space is to trade Emmerton and 1 of Tootoo/Bertz/Sammy; and in return we get some kids for GR or some draft picks. That way we clear up cap space and open up forward spots for all the talented youth we have in GR.
My Pipe Dream is getting rid of Bertz, Sammy, and Tootoo and getting a couple of 4th rd draft picks.
