Even if we go 4/4, we would still be behind Georgia by 6 points.
We need to go 4/4, + Gay, + Tufele. Then we'd be ahead of Georgia by 3 points, assuming they don't add anyone.
4/4 + Gay and we're still behind by 2 points.
In other words, the best we can possibly finish is 4th. If FSU or LSU finish strong, they could jump us.
There is no way Michigan finishes worse than 6th, or better than 4th.

We've only looked bad in two games this year; @ South Carolina and @ Illinois.

It'll be really interesting to see Ward try and guard Wagner/Wilson on the perimeter and in PnR situations. Ward doesn't seem quick enough to keep up, which could lead to some blow-by dunks from the German.
I think the key on defense is to not let Harris, Ellis, or McQuaid (not listed), get hot from 3. If we play with the same defensive intensity as we did vs IU, we should pull out a road W in EL.

I'm excited to see Chris Evans and Karan Higdon improve from last year. They were obvious game changers to the style of Smith; but can they carry the load alongside Walker and Davis?

I understand all three of your points. But, I was under the impression that both DPJ and Black are projecting to playing outside WR. Also, Hawkins looks really good on the outside too, if he stays on offense. I get that Harris and Ways may have missed their chances to start and get majority reps, but they are both 6'4" bodies that are outside receivers.
And I just really enjoy typing out our list of TE's. I get that there is no relation to TE height+roster depth, and playing time for a true freshman 6'5" WR.

I saw him live in Hawaii at the Polynesian Bowl, and I came away super impressed. The dude is all muscle. On and off the field, he looks like a more muscular Jabrill Peppers. He had an excellent KO return to start the game, very nice cuts running the ball behind a poor OL, and wasn't easy to tackle.
I was maybe most impressed by his play on the sidelines. He was always high-fiving dudes, making sure everyone was having fun and on the same page. Whenever the offense was off the field, he'd work his way down the entire sideline high-fiving every single person.
Before the game, he was spending a lot of time chatting with Nico Collins.

|5 weeks 1 day ago||I was at the game||
My thoughts and analysis:
Kurt Taylor looked like a RB version of Peppers. Kid is 100% muscle, and a super encouraging kid on the sidelines. Had an impressive KO return, and some decent runs behind shaky OL play all game. He was chatting up Nico on the sidelines a lot pre game, but not so much in-game.
I didn't notice Ross at all, not sure if he played, but it was tough to find him out there if he did play.
Chuck and Phil both played OL, Chuck at RT and Phil at RG and LG. I don't know anything about grading OL play, but Chuck looked good straight up 1v1 blocking, but if they tried anything fancy like pulling him to block interior stuff or getting him in space, it just didn't work at all.
I'd give Dylan a B+ in this game. His receivers couldn't get open, it was crazy windy, and his interior OL couldn't block. He had some nice deep balls better receivers catch, he had some poor decisions under pressure, and he looks like a good runner. I'd agree he needs to work on building muscle before he starts at Michigan.
The two kids that stood out to me all night were Epenesa and the running back #5 Wedington. Of course they both won MVP, defensive for AJ, and offensive for Wedington.
Also, the crowd was super disappointed that Mariota couldn't make it due to having surgery recently, and that Tua couldn't play because he's an EE at bama. I suspect the game would have higher scoring if he played.

I think the obvious thing we as fans point to is inconsistency against the tough teams on our schedule. He had some great moments against OSU and FSU. He had some terrible moments against Iowa, OSU, and FSU.
Most notably I think is the accuracy of the deep ball. I think we all saw in our three losses, if we can't scare a defense with a deep threat, they'll stack the box, take away our middling running game, and jump our crossing routes.
What I'm most interested in is seeing him develop chemistry with a basically brand new receiving group.
Deep threats are Crawford, Harris, Peoples-Jones, Black, and Hawkins.
That pecking order will need to be figured out quickly, so Speight can start developing chemistry with the starters.

I'll eat my crow. I predicted a top 3 finish in the B1G, the senior duo of Walton and Irvin would destroy all challengers, and Michigan would be looking at a possible B1G regular season, BTT, and Final Four type season.
Just making the NCAAT would be a giant overachievement for this squad.
This downward trajectory is demoralizing; it's showing in the players, the coaches, and the fans. If the culture of this team doesn't change, then I think we need to look for a new voice to take over this program.

I was most surprised by the "trickery" in the 4th quarter by both offenses. Alabama had a WR pass to a TE go for 30 yards, and Clemson did a WR screen lateral thing go for 5 yards.
Also, having a QB that can gash a team on the ground seems to work pretty well. It also helps when you give them huge WR/TE downfield who can continually win jump-balls.

Eubanks didn't burn his redshirt did he? I don't remember him playing post-Rutgers (or playing at all last season). His MGoBlue Bio says he only appeared against USF, so he'd be eligible for a medical RS if it comes to that.
I don't think TE is a position of need at all since we have:
Not to mention Harbaugh likely has the pull to grab any TE he wants during any recruiting cycle, especially with how much we used a True Freshman Asiasi this year.
TE and QB will never be a problem with Harbaugh here.

Filiaga and Becton are the two OT dudes we're looking at.
Kai-Leon Herbert is no slouch, a 4* with a 90 composite score. They say Honigford is underrated. Then we also have Hall and Stueber.
Throw both Filiaga and Becton into this mix, and we have an instant starter (in Filiaga), and great depth/future starters.

I don't care I was downvoted, but I'd love to hear why this is such a bad option for a man in that situation:
Walk away. Leave the building. Call 911. Tell them there is a drunk racist lady being physically aggressive towards him and he feels he is in a dangerous situation.
Walk away until the police show up. Witnesses and video show she was the aggressor, she attacked him, and he remained calm.
She gets sentenced and he continues on his path to the NFL.
What am I missing?
The only reasonable situation to knock her out cold is if she had a visible weapon and was going to use it on him. Otherwise, let the authorities sort this mess out.

We're not moving TE to OL or LB...
LB we're more than fine. We have McCray, Furbush, and a host of athletic young guns waiting to get the call (Bush, Gil, Uche, Mbem-Bosse).

I'll believe you're not a troll. Here's what's happened since Harbaugh has been here:
2017 recruiting so far: #5 Nationally, just landed the #1 WR, and possibly landing the #1 player in the country.
2016 recruiting #6 in the Nation, landed the #1 player in the country in Rashan Gary. Landed 10 players who were Top 10 in the Nation at their listed position.
He has a 20-5 record, when the previous 3 seasons records totaled 20-18.
Now tell me where you want to criticize Harbaugh and his staff? I don't see it.

Obviously he knew her/the group of people, as he followed them in the establishment.
She was obviously upset about something, and he looked upset walking in as well.
She must have said some pretty nasty stuff (assume racist), slapped him, and pushed him. Also lunged at him.
He lunges at her in hopes of scaring her straight. That didn't work, and she looked ready to hit him again.
RIGHT HERE: WALK OUT THE DOOR!
Simple as that! WALK OUT THE DOOR!
If she follows him, threatens him, etc, then call 911 and continue to keep a distance between you and her.
|10 weeks 3 days ago||I don't think we have a||
I don't think we have a struggle finding quality TE depth on this team:
OL on the other hand, is a glaring problem. That 2014 and 2015 OL haul of only Cole, JBB, Newsome, Runyan Jr, Ulizio over two years is hurting us BIG right now.
Cole obviously panned out. JBB hasn't shown much, especially struggling against Rutgers and Illinois. Poor Newsome looked the part of a solid LT, but he'll probably miss all of next season. Runyan and Ulizio are both projects that aren't finished yet.
2016 addressed this problem with Bredeson, Onwenu, and Spanellis.
That's why it's so important to get 6-8 OL this cycle. We need depth + players that can contribute right away.
|10 weeks 3 days ago||Oh My God||

|11 weeks 15 hours ago||Interesting Debate||
Well I still have DPJ and Harris 3/4. I think I'd take game-changers on the lines than a skill position (minus QB, if that counts as a skill position). If it came down to us getting Wilson or DPJ (not taking into account where'd the end up), I think I'd take Wilson. Now if you told me Wilson would go to Bama vs DPJ ending up at OSU, then I'd take DPJ in a heartbeat.
Where it also gets interesting in my rankings is 6-12.
Would you rather us land Irving-Bey + Filiaga and miss on Collins and say O'Maury Samuels decommits?
I think I'd take bodies (4.5*+ bodies) in the trenches than bodies at skill positions.
But no point in debating when, like you said, we can have it all! Elite skill + elite potential/depth in the trenches!
|11 weeks 15 hours ago||Ranking||
My Order of Preference to fill out this class based on need + want:
1. Isaiah Wilson (OL) - It all starts in the trenches!
Plus all 15 of these guys would be #1 in the MSU class this year except Irving-Bey (he'd be #2)!!!
I want them all, obviously, but I think the trenches are the most important area to build around.

So if Michigan loses 42-13, you won't say we were overhyped this year?
I think there would be merit to that discussion if we are a no show, and our #1 defense gets steam rolled by OSU.
In my lifetime, I've only seen 5 wins. My optimism is very low anytime we play OSU. I'm deathly afraid of getting embarrassed again. A close loss won't feel any better. We need a win, for sake of the program, for Harbaugh, and for the fanbase.
|13 weeks 6 days ago||Exactly||
Michigan is 5-13 against OSU (not including 2010) starting when I was old enough to understand football, and being able to brag about Michigan's success at school.
Our total margin of victory in the 5 wins is 45. OSU's total margin of victory in their last 2 wins is 43.
I'm sick of us losing, sick of us looking like a high school team against them, and sick of this "rivalry" being so one-sided that the national perception of this game is nothing more than an ordinary conference game.
Last year, we had a chance to do something special, and we got absolutely destroyed by OSU at home. If we get a similar result this year, Harbaugh's hype will have run out of steam, and he'll be facing a ruthless assault from all angles until he finally beats Urban Meyer and Ohio State.
