On one of the long Spartan touchdown runs a gaping hole opened and the running back ran through it. Instead of filling that hole, Ezeh ran into a blocker on the outside. Granted I saw this on fan vision and I'm not a football strategist but I couldn't figure out what the heck he was doing. If that TD isn't on him, I hope someone with x and o knowledge will explain.

And RR still can't field a team that beats MSU, and next year in EL doesn't look promising (our defense will still be bad). There are no positives. If the defense showed any signs of improvement i could understand the board's optimism but right now I wish Rich was our offensive coordinator, not the head coach.

An individual choosing between two programs, assuming that individual has no formal affiliation to either program, is more lkely to pick Michigan than Michigan State.  This gives me hope for our planet.

and I'm sure I could come up with a better list of reasons to hate Michigan.  I'm not even insulted by things like "worst helmet in football" and terrible fight song.  These things are by all measures false, as our helmets and fight song are both considered to be among the best if not the best in the country.

He also claimed our biggest claim to fame is the Fab 5? Really?  In almost 200 years of history as a University, one Presidential alum, 3 Heisman trophy winners and numerous football national championships, our biggest claim to fame is the Fab 5?

When is a good question. The defense is bad this year; it will likely be mediocre next year. When do you expect this defense to be good? 2012?

I think Wojo's absence from the air space is probably due to a non-compete clause in his WDFN contract but the fact Drew Sharp, Terry Foster and Mitch Albom are on the air and not Wojo really grinds my gears.  The Detroit sports scene is filled with hack sports columnists/radio show hosts and our one truly entertaining and thoughtful media member is the one we get the least of!

The Michigan game is the only one the Spartans care about, they keep that game.  The PSU rivalry never caught on as an emotionally intense rivalry and quite frankly MSU's chances at making the B10 title game are higher with IU as the crossover instead of PSU, which probably excites them.  The MSU/PSU game had 17 years to develop into a national story but with MSU never vying for a B10 Title (and the fact MSU has gone 4-13 against PSU since 1993) no one outside of the Midwest cared about that game. 

Oh and as Hollis made clear, MSU has great rivalries with the MAC so they're all set.

She is a very good journalist, she provides fair and balanced coverage and she asks good questions at press conferences, that is the role of a beat reporter and she excels at it. 

Prediction pieces are nothing more than gimmicks (probably required by teh editors), and do not count as "real" journalism, accuracy (or innacuuracy) in such articles hold no bearing on her abilities as a reporter.  

She is not, or has never shown herself to be, particularly knowledgable regarding x's and o's or schemes but that could be for a variety of reasons such as 1) the common fan wouldn't be interested or understand that kind of writing 2) she doesn't understand it herself  3) the paper tells her not to write extensively on such things or 4) a combination of all of the above. 

I think you have to temper your expectations in MSM coverage of Michigan or any football, they can do a good job of covering the simple facts such as what is said in interviews and press conferences but if you want in depth breakdown of on-field play you have to go to a more specialized outlet such as MGoblog.

how this relates to football.  I kid . . . but in all seriousness is anyone else having a tough time caring about anything sportswise that isn't Michigan Football?

I bought the Mike Judge Collection and while the cartoon episodes aren't that funny anymore (were they ever? Besides a couple of classic episodes), the music video criticism is still highly enjoyable and in my opinion stands the test of time. 

The big problem with bringing back the show is that teenage boys no longer can sit and watch music videos all day, MTV doesn't show them, also will they have new music videos to comment on? How many bands still make music videos? Will they start again just to be lampooned on B&B?

Dell hasn't sent me an email besides the order confirmation email but that email projected the delivery date to be the 23rd.  Delivery speed was set to 7 day delivery.  Where are they shipping from? From Miami to Seattle can't even take 7 days (right?), are they using the the post office's new service: USPS College Road Trip?  The original thread did warn that Dell shipping is extremely slow and often delayed so I'm expecting the worst.

There are millions of ways to raise money especially for someone with LBJ's influence.   The TV special was clearly self-serving, the charity aspect was just a(n) (ineffective) shield designed to deflect criticism.  All in all, money for the kids is more important than what LBJ does to his reputation but I don't think LBJ's handlers were putting the children ahead of LBJ in creating "The Decision."

You have him listed with 96 acceleration, the same as Denard Robinson.  Given that Denard is considered (at least by M fans) to be one of the quickest guys in college football, does it surprise anyone that White is presumed to have the same quickness? 

I could be wrong but I imagine good acceleration translates into a good 40 time; is White anywhere close to Denard?

I think it would be funny to offer him $10 million a year and watch him switch schools and cause mass choas in East Lansing.  Again, given his feelings for MSU he'd probably reject the offer and then we'd look quite foolish, but if we KNEW he'd take it, that would be awesome (if we were in the market for a coach that is).

Who holds press conferences to announce the status quo?  I'll be holding a press conference in 5 minutes to announce I'll be at work tomorrow the same time as I was today.  I expect the press to run with this.

If PSU, OSU, Michigan and MSU were put in the same division, MSU would never, EVER even sniff a B10 title game.  OK, not that this would be much of a change, but  this would lock them further into their little brotherness, which I am for 100%.

I didn't mean they have no "character" as in they are aren't morally fit; I mean more in the "feature used to separate distinguishable things into categories" sense.  I think of the B10 as representative of the midwest and Texas representative of the South.  Texas very much has its own culture, a GREAT culture at that, but not one that is cohesive with the B10.  Nebraska is very much in line with the rest of the B10.   Southern Cal fits all the things you just mentioned yet I don't think they fit within the B10 either. 

On paper I suppose it looks right but Texas feels wrong; but it looks like I'm alone in that feeling.

Texas is a great football team and a great school but I don't think that is sufficient for B10 admission; geography should play into it and whether or not the school fits the B10's identity/persona.   The idea is not that Missouri is better than Texas in absolute terms, but they are a better fit for the B10.

I hate watching in bars when the sound is turned off, often I'm left wondering what happened to a certain player who left with injury or what penalty the ref just called and the iphone battery is too shitty to keep refreshing the live blog for an entire game.

Always wondered why Michigan doesn't invite Tulane up for a scrimmage, err, I mean game.  Tulane's football team draws about 500 people to the Superdome on Saturday's and could sure use the huge payday a game with Michigan would provide and at least it would provide Michigan with a DI (barely) opponent .

Both sides need help.  Michigan picked up a lot of DEs in the last class but not many (any?) DTackles and they are in certain need of some young offensive linemen after last year's class which only had 1 offensive lineman that I can recall (Christian Pace).

I would take his comments to be more of a thank you to those who fostered a positive learning environment, like smaller classes with more personalized attention, not an admission of academic fraud. 

On WTKA this morning Sam reported that GoBlueWolverine last night also spoke with Demar and he wasn't as positive as he was with TomVH,  saying basically it's over and that he received something in the mail that says as much (the release that he spoke about?).  Sam recommends giving up the last bit of hope b/c the piece of mail (Sam never confirmed it was the release) pretty much seals the deal.

Sam also said Demar's final grades aren't in, so the final decision was made before his final grades were submitted.

I'm way more upset about this than I probably should be but all this rubs me the wrong way.
