| 2 weeks 12 hours ago | Do you know for sure that is what this is all about? |
I don't recall the school, Hagerup or Hoke saying what exactly it is that he did. And while we know how you feel about marijuana, the football team has rules and Will not just broke them once, but twice. So what you are really saying is that Hoke and his rules are pointless, right? It is easy to sit at your desk typing your pro pot rant on here while Hoke is trying to make boys into responsible men. |

| 2 weeks 3 days ago | Doles had his chance to commit |
If I understood his recruitment correctly, Doles had the opportunity to commit long ago but didn't. So either Doles didn't quite feel comfortable enough with Micghigan to commit or he waited too long hoping for more offers or the desire to do officials. Either way, that was his decision and now he made a good choice to play at NW. At the end of the day, it's not a loss for Michigan. |

Good luck to BWC. He is going to need it being on that circus of a team. |
| 3 weeks 3 days ago | Very true |
Let me clarify that if he want's to run both at the same time, he'll need Parallels or VMware. Otherwise he will have to reboot back and forth if he wants to use boot camp. Both will still mean he needs to purchase Win OS. |

| 3 weeks 3 days ago | Running Windows on a Mac |
If you need to run Windows on your Mac, you can and easily. It will cost you the price of the virtualization software and Windows OS but it will give you the best of both worlds. An internet search on using windows on a Mac will give you all you need to know. On a side note, I was given the gift of $$$ to buy a mac book. I like Macs but when I broke it down, I was able to buy a PC tower, lap top, itouch and some other items with what it cost to buy a Macbook pro refurbished from the Apple store. And in today's age, there are still great editing software for the PC. Apple just integrates it with their computers. You can't go wrong either way. It will just depend on what you want to spend. |
| 3 weeks 5 days ago | Michigan will be the standard he'll use |
to judge Stanford. The one BIG things that Stanford has over Michigan, imho, is location, weather and the fact they make it REALLY HARD to flunk out. It might be almost impossible to get in, but once in it's almost impossible to flunk out. And I am not talking about athletes but all students in general as Stanford is known for very lax grading policy (unless they have changed it). The other factor will be, of course, distance. Assuming it comes down to a Michigan vs Stanford, will distance end up being a factor for the young man? |
| 3 weeks 6 days ago | Nice but |
Would like to see him do this with a guy in his face and doing so in a game like situation where he has the ball passed to him. He knows his back yard. A different setting would also be nice. Outside of that, I hope to see him mature as a player next year and take on a bigger role. He has the making of a great player. |
| 4 weeks 3 days ago | Not this crap again |
The coaches don't promise numbers to recruits. They might explain the process and why the university has certain important jerseys but let it be clear as rain that each kid HAS TO EARN the right to wear a designated number, especially the #1. It's not given to them to make them commit. Not sure why some still think it is. |

For the love of all things Michigan, some of you are the most childish bunch of fans on the blogosphere. To think that he'd never want to leave Michigan because Michigan is a final destination stop is just silly talk. The guy was given a better opportunity and you are trashing him for it. Pathetic! When he's successful at Oklahomo, it will be because he learned from the greats at Michigan and he'll give credit for it to his time at Meeeechigan! Michigan now has a great opportunity to bring someone else in. And hopefully many of you won't treat the new coach like how many of you treated Hoke when he was named the HC. |

| 16 weeks 2 days ago | A few |
Bass for one. Tate : Headcase Ryan Mallet: Another headcase but what coulda been with him Sam McGuffie: Really really wanted to see that kid succeed at Michigan. Darryl Stonum: another great athlete that couldn't get his head screwed on straight and thus we never saw his true talent. |
| 16 weeks 2 days ago | You know what |
I actually think all is fair in recruiting and I can understand any coach getting peeved. These coaches work hard to develop these relationships. He has a right to be pissed and Pelini has good reason to wish him good luck. Besides, none of us know how it was said and in what context and anything else that was said. Many of you are basing this off of one tweet. And why should Bo's reaction be any different than the many negative reactions that many fans show when a kid decommits. Recrtuiting is emotional, man! |

|
| 16 weeks 2 days ago | It's not just Hoke |
Let's give credit to the whole staff. It's the other coaches that create the bonds. Fred Jackson had a tremendous if not more important impact on Green from what I have heard. Credit Sam Webb. |
| 16 weeks 2 days ago | fer sure? |
I want UM to dominate and win a NC (and more) like you but come one man, nothing is for sure! Individual talent doesn't mean squat if you a team doesn't execute. A great recruiting class is just one piece of the puzzle. Let's see how the coaches and the kids come together as a team and go from there. |

| 17 weeks 6 days ago | My $3 thoughts on Stauskas |
While bewildered that he flopped in Columbus (maybe more of a reflection of the effect that crappy town has on good people), the true test of this young gun is how he responds mentally. We all have heard him say he is resilient. Let's hope that is the case and he bounces back a better player after a game he wishes he could forget. I really like this import from Canada, more so than I really really like Strange Brew. In fact, I am going to honor his drives to the basket by blurting out "That team just got STEAM ROLLERED!" |

| 18 weeks 1 day ago | I always knew Lance was lying |
Having followed cycling for the longest time, there is no doubt that he did because they all did! I don't blame him for it when everyone was cheating. He just did it better than others.
What I do blame him for is for his brutal take down of anyone that got in his way. Lance is a royal douche if there ever was one. The only way I'd ever forgive him is if he financially repays those he financially screwed over with his lies.
The problem is that the vast majority of athletes use or have used. I just wish they'd be honest about it.

If the O line can gel with new additions on the inside with no experience and offseason growth by Devin and the emergence of a consistent RB squad, the O should be decent to pretty good. The D should be stout. Phil is quite right. Michigan SHOULD have a pretty good year next year of all the pieces fall together. Can't wait for September! |
| 19 weeks 2 hours ago | It's great Michigan is in his list, but |
How many times have seen a Southern Kid with Michigan in his list of 5 with the other 4 being Southern schools and Michigan eventually getting him? I can't remember one though maybe there might be one or two. I remember a few during the RR days but they eventually decommitted to a Southern School. Michigan's future is pretty much in the Midwest followed by the East and possibly some in the West and South. |

Those same pompous douches are the same ones that clog up the 405, 101 and 5 in their Beemers!, espeically in that damn bottle neck from Santa Fe springs to Beuna Park! :P Don't many think UM fans are arrogant aholes? Like Fondling Lion fans or Suckeye fans? All you have to do is read some of the mindless drivel on here and even I cringe at times. But, you are right that many SC fans can be pompous jerks who think that SC can do no wrong. Typcial of any fan base. But I also know a few SC fans that aren't. Heck I know someone that actually played for SC and he's as objective as they come. Of course, he played for them so he understands the reality of what it is like to "actually" play college ball. The great thing is Mora is builidng the team that Loseheisel promised but couldn't deleiver on. And as you mentioned, Stanford has grown up (thanks to a Michigan Man) and other teams in the P1G 10 are getting better and that mean SC doesn't have the huge edge they use to. But here's one sure thing about this supposed move by Narduzzi. He obviosly likes to coach for scumbags! And his success isn't automatic. Monte was heralded as a defensive genius. He didn't fare so well at Univ Of Spoiled Children. Why? Maybe it's because of his son? Michigan had a GREAT D Coordinator by the name of Scott Shafer. But Mich had a head coach who neutered him. Maybe Lane has the same affect on those he brings in? Time will tell. One other thing. USC will always recruit talent. It has a certain gravitas not many schools enjoy.

I don't take much into ranking undergraduate schools. I believe anyone can get a good education at any university if they apply themselves. Unfortunately for you, US NEWS ranks USC a few notches ahead of the almight U of M. I only post this because I am guessing that you do care about superficial rankings. And while I know many people like to tout that having a U of M degree is great because of the alumni base, the same goes for SC. The bottom line is that only the ignorant will scoff at a USC degree. |

| 20 weeks 1 day ago | Are you sure? |
The only one I know of is the Halloween one at the Black Students Association party. There have been a few shootings outside of campus.
AS far as crime is involved, crime is an issue on all college campuses, not excluding Ann Arbor. |
| 20 weeks 1 day ago | I tell you why |
If you opted to do a little research before posting you'll see that USC was founded way back in the late 1800's. The area wasn't a hell hole then. It became a problem much later on and at that point the Univerisyt was already rooted in the area. The school thrives in a not so great part of town, a part that has culturally changed with immigration etc. And guess what? Many kids would give their left nut and right breast to go there. And let's not be blind to the fact that many of the top college football players and athletes from all sports in the country end up playing at USC even though it's not in the greatest of areas. But then again, look at a lot of prestigious schools in large cites. Many are now located in bad areas which weren't bad areas when the schools were founded. |

| 21 weeks 3 days ago | Big 10 play will tell us a lot |
While obvious, Big 10 play will really show what this team is made of as the team will be tested by consistent talent on the other side of the ball. Here's hoping for growth instead of regression and that the team hits all cylinders just as the tournament starts. One note in regards to Mitch McGary. He's a Bill Lambier in the making. I hope he starts to settle down, gets a better grasp of the college game, limits the fouls and blossoms as a force under the basket. We have seen glimpses of that that already but if he can find a level of consistency then UM will have a nice inside combo of Morgan and McGary. The icing on the cake is if Horford can come back healthy and stay healthy. The injury Gods seem to have picked Horford as their whipping boy. It's an exciting time to be a Michigan Bball fan. Let's hope the team can shock the world. |
| 21 weeks 5 days ago | GRIII 15th? |
What exactly has he done yet to merit that? He's got some nice talent but has shown no consistency what so ever. The one freshman making the biggest impact so far happens to be the White Shadow from Canada. |

| 22 weeks 3 days ago | Quite a different situation |
That team had an experienced QB, RB, WRs and line coming back. Not much was going to change with the team. Lewan would be coming back to a team with a new QB, no sure fire RB or WR and a depeleted OL. Again, all things point to Lewan leaving. Great if he stays but if I am in his entourage, I tell him to move on to the NFL assuming he's a top 10 pick. |

| 22 weeks 4 days ago | Hoke LOVES NORFLEET |
Hoke said that Norfleet loves to play football. Loves to practice. He's a coaches wet dream. Norfleet showed he belongs on the field and had played CB in HS SO and JR year so the position is not new to him. HOke did mention he's not the biggest guy but he REALLY REALLY loves to play the game. I can't wait to see him play during the bowl game.

If he can keep his place as a top 10 pick, I don't see why he'd stay? And if Michigan only accepts smart kids, then Lewan is gone because only dumb kids would turn down that amount of money to risk another year of unpaid college football. |

| 23 weeks 4 days ago | San Diego Mick |
OSU has been sitting pretty long before Hoke and RR. Carr sorta dropped the ball during his tenure and I think a lof of that had to do with the fact Carr didn't enjoy recruiting and wasn't as good at it as Tressel and his guys were. I don't really think many of these kids playing football really care if a degree from U of M is better than OSU because we all know that the state of Ohio takes care of their OSU players long after they graduate. And if anything, I'll make the wild assumption that OSU "helps" their players a lot more in the classroom than Michigan does. And I think many players like that. I know Michigan has in place a very generous support staff to help kids pass their courses but I think OSU does a better job of really supporting them, if ya know what I mean. |
| 23 weeks 4 days ago | Just keep in mind |
That our coaches have a very good eye in spotting talent before anyone else. Conley committing to a hated rival after committing to UM first stings but in the grand scheme of things, it's not a loss. Michigan will get their players and frankly, OSU has more to offer kids right now than Michigan, especially going undefeated. Hopefully Michigan will be able fill Conley's spot with somene that will end up being a big contributor to the Wolverines. |

Exactly what I typed and I am not bitter. Just saying that players who wanted to be Wolverines(assuming here that Berk wanted to be one) come back to haunt Michigan. Hoke and staff have to go after the players who they need and fit what they want to do. I think that Braylon is acting like a jerk but hasn't he always been a bit of a jerk? | 25 weeks 2 days ago | Ohio will always have talent |
It's not going away and OSU will continue to rake in great high school talent and develop them as they have a great record of doing.
The question now is whether or not Michigan can get back to developing talent as well. The jury is out but we'll know in a few years. Until then, Michigan needs to keep making it's program relevent to elite high school recruits and get them into the program. Without that talent, Michigan will just be a mediocre team.

But doesn't erase the 3 loses. And rushing D needs a lot of help at 50th in the nation. Let's all hope Devin remains healthy and can improve at QB for the remaining games. AFter shaking off the dust, he looked quite good out there today. Made good decisions for the most part and showed some vision that I haven't seen with Denard this season. |
| 28 weeks 6 days ago | Like Dawson |
The program isn't dependent on one player, let alone twowho haven't played a down in college. While Michigan had the vision to see that he is a special player before anyone else did doesn't matter. The kid wants to explore so let him. The consequences were explained to him. Now that he has more attention it's only obvious and understandable that he would want to look at other options. He needs to make a decision that is in his best interest. And if he does move on with the other visits, I would hope and expect Michigan will move to cultivate a stronger relationship with others who might fill his place. All is fair in love, war and recruiting. Captain Obvious signing out. |

He trusted Charlie Weis. Other than that, the kid seems to be a class act. I ignore the fact he is a domer which is always a strike. Let's hope Teo has a good game against Okie but that Okie puts a beating onthe Irish today. Also interesting that the article fails to mention that Manti is a Mormon. Why do you think he did this? Part of it is that he was brought up as an upstanding Mormon. If you know anything about the religion (unless you listen to opponents of Mitt Romney then you'll only think they are a cult) you'd know they do a lot of good work. Manti represents that and thus explains his great character. |

| 32 weeks 2 days ago | Straight ahead speed |
Denard is most likely faster than Braxton when focusing on track speed. But football speed plus vision with the ability to juke and take angles and fend off defenders? There is no doubt that Braxton is FAR superior than Denard, imho. Braxton's vision to avoid and juke defenders is simply outstanding. Michigan is going to have to seriously work on their tackling ability for the OSU game because if Michigan falters, Braxton is going to make fools out of the Wolverines. Let's look at yesterdays game stats. Denard: 24 rushes for 235 yards. 9.8 y/c 59 yards longest run/ 8-16 105yds passing Braxton:16 rushes for 186 yards. 11.6 y/c 72 yards longest run/ 7-14 127yds passing You can decide but putting teams aside, I'd take Braxton over Denard in a heartbeat.

| 32 weeks 2 days ago | Be careful with Norfleet. |
I think there is a reason why Norfleet is not at running back. As in the mold of Smith, I think the coaches are going to be very selective how they use a very small back. On a side note, can't wait to see Norfleet take a punt/KO back for a score. The kid has the makings of a great return man. |

ND and MSU will be ready to play. The question is if Michigan will be ready. With the O line not up to snuff and Denard's unpredictabe passing, ND and MSU can easily take out Michigan. We will see what Michigan is really made of next week.
And ND now has a QB. Golson has the tools to do some serious damage. Mich's D is going to be busy trying to contain him. |
| 35 weeks 6 days ago | MGOBLOGers |
Like clockwork, select MGOBLOGGERS are judge, jury and executioner. Gotta love Internet Justice. Also wonder what percentage of those criticizing Hoke also lambasted Brandon's choice to hire Hoke.
Ask yourself, what would Harbaugh have done? Would he had excused the kid from the team? I think not had the kid listened and done everything Harbaugh expected of him to stay on the team. I think Hoke is keen on giving people a second chance. But only ONE second chance. Frank Clark either grew up and matured and learned his lesson to become a better person or he will quickly find out that Hoke doesn't like to be proven a fool for giving a kid a second chance. I stand with Hoke on this. He's the coach. He knows a whole lot more bout the situation than any of us on here.
But feel free to boo Frank when he makes a play/sack/interception if it makes you feel better. |
| 36 weeks 2 hours ago | Willing to bet the guilty plea |
was directly at the strong request of the coaches. The convo probably went like this, "Frank, Michigan men owe up to their stupidity. If you did the crime, you do the time or at least plead guilty and hope the prosecutor goes easy on you. Fight the charge and you can guarantee you won't be suiting up for us. Do something this stupid again and you'll be sure to never wear a Michigan uniform again. Is that clear?" |
| 36 weeks 2 hours ago | it's obvious if you read the article |
Frank cut a deal. Plead guilty and get a lenient punishment since he's a first time offender. He completes what the judge throws at him and he gets the felony expunged from his record. He's quite lucky to have such a deal and hopefully he won't pull a Stonum or Grady. And hopefully he also will learn a very important lesson about what isn't his shouldn't be taken from rooms he doesn't live in. |

On paper, Alabama should easily handle Michigan. Odds are Alabama will win. But odds can be beaten. What can't be measured is determination and hunger. Let's hope the Michigan is more determined and more hungry (and makes fewer mistakes and scores more) than Alabama.

1. Invest in snow tires first and see how your car handles the winter. That will be the most cost effective solution instead of putting down thousands of dollars and locked into a financing agreement for 3 to 6 years. 2. If snow tires do not do the trick, then next year start looking for a car again. All wheel drive is preferable in snow conditions, obviously. Subarus are good ans so are Audi's. A Subaru won't damage your wallet as much as an Audi will. I would also look into negotiating an extened warranty as car repairs on both are not pretty. 3. Always test drive a car more than once and in differnt conditions if you can. If you live in your car as most salesmen do, pay close attention to what ammenities the car has, comfort of seat, which is hard to determine with just one test drive so take several test drives many months prior to when you think you want to purchase or lease if your mileage allows. 4.Check car buying services prior to buying. Costco also has a car buying program if you are a member. 5. Investigate used cars especially Certified factory pre-owned cars that typically include extended warranties (these cars will be more expensive than non CPO but you can still negotiate on them as they have bigger profit margins on them than a new car). 6. Good luck. |
