Colorado was a great program not so long ago, and has a ton going for it, other than that pesky record.  I'd take that job in a heartbeat over Purdue.

A former classmate of mine played for him at Ball State the year they almost took down eventual national champion UNLV in the 1990 tourney (69-67).  UNLV was considered invincible, but Majerus almost did it with Ball State players.

Berkley ended up at Minnesota - doesn't justify Hoke's evaluation?  If he ended up at Alabama or USC I might wonder.

I realize that some kids slip through the recruiting cracks (Kovacs), but I would think that Hoke gave Berkley every benefit of the doubt, given the Braylon connection, and still wasn't impressed enough to extend an offer.  

Based on the early schedule, I see UM at 7-0 going into the MSU game.  ND plays at the Big House, and they will have lost a ton of talent from this season, so I see M getting the victory.  The final five games will be tough, but I see no reason why we can't go 3-2 down the stretch at worst.

Play, the second: I don't understand why M didn't simply punt here.  There was no reason to go for it at that stage in the game on our side of the 50.  I think this was the single biggest mistake of the game. 

Yeah, talk about a murderer's row, but I'd much rather be playing the #3 team in a New Years bowl than a tomato can in the Jiffy Lube Bowl.

My greatest concern offensively is at WR.  Gallon and Dileo are slot guys, and I have little faith in Jackson or Robinson.  The younger guys will have to step up.

I know how much the two states dislike each other, but I am centering my list primarily on football.  Wiscy-OSU has been far more compelling the past several years.  Minn. just sucks in football, and is not taken seriously by Wisconsin, despite how much they love to spank Minn.

I know it's semantics, but I've always considered the PAC teams to be western, neither southern nor northern.  That said, if we can claim Oregon as a norther team, I'll take it.

Not sure how I feel about this.  Anytime the word "business" is thrown in with college football the story is rarely positive.

I just can't see Gruden ending up at UT, when he turned down his "dream job" at Notre Dame.  UT is a good gig, but he could have his pick of just about any NFL opening this off season.  He also has a pretty good thing going with MNF.  

I would give Iowa a greater chance of beating Nebraska at home than I would have given Texas A&M of beating an outstanding Alabama on the road.

I was thinking that Funchess would be the perfect candidate for Kramer's #87 jersey.  I would think that Carter, Alexander, and Edwards would rather keep the #1 for a receiver.  I also think that the #2 should be reserved strickly for a DB.  

I was there for the beatdown we took fom Syracuse in '98.  It was painful, but I did get to see McNabb vs. Brady, and got to see Drew Henson make his freshman debut.  Michigan made it somewhat exciting toward the end, so that helped somewhat.  I was also there at the end of the UTL game, which was going the same way as Syracuse till the last ten minutes.  As you may have heard, the game turned out somewhat interesting.

I never leave early, because I couldn't live with myself if I left a game like UTL and heard how it ended from my car radio.

I just can't get over how well Gardner has played, and I wonder why he wasn't given reps at QB all season to provide insurance for Robinson.  Gardner = win over Nebraska, IMO.

If Robinson can't go next week, I think that Gardner should get the start against Ohio State, even if Robinson is healthy for OSU, if only because Robinson will likely be too rusty from all the misssed time.  

I haven't heard anything about Bellomy's status lately.  I saw Kennedy warming up with Devin pre-game, but didn't see Bellomy all game.  I know he's listed as injured, but havent' heard anything more.  I wonder if there is something else going on.  At this point, Bellomy's gonna be the odd man out, with Devin being the man next year and Morris as the man in waiting.

Improve the construction and it's gold.  

I love Kovacs, but he's never going to get a Legends patch.  Think of all the "legendary" Michigan players over the decades that never got one.

Bummer, but I don't feel as anxious as last week after Devin proved himself.   Thank God for Devin.

The defense has been great this season, including (and maybe especially) against Nebraska.  A lesser defense might have allowed another 30 points after Denard went down.  

RR's a good coach, and he's obviously done a good job down in AZ.  Looks like everything worked out for both parties.  No regrets with Brady.

Hopefully we can get Joel in a package deal.

Yeah, I saw it.  I have it on DVR and have watched it several times.  You are correct - Denard played his heart out for the win.  I couldn't agree more.  That's why I said that Denard deserves all the praise he gets.  You need to read a little more closely before commenting.

Thanks for the advice.  My wife just got off the phone with Dish and, after getting a fabulous initial offer of $5 off our bill for three whole months, we got the 10 bucks off for the next 12 months.  Small consolation, but at least we were able to get something out of those pricks.

The customer service agent thinks the impasse will be over within the next 24 hours.  We'll see.

In my opinion, no one this season.  It should go to a Woodson, Howard, Carter-type player.  I'm not saying that no one should ever get it, I'm just saying that it should remain shelved until  someone proves he deserves it.  I also feel that Howard's #21 should not have gone to Roundtree, who has been just average.

No one looked particularly good, but I was keying on Morgan most of the second half, and he was getting blown out pretty much every single play. 

The Arizona game was eerily familiar to a three-year stretch of games up here.  I don't know how many times Arizona was on the verge of blowing out Toledo, but for a series of inexplicable fumbles, drops, misreads, and missed tackles.

Success is measured much differently at AZ.  RRod will be fine as long as they're a slightly better than average.

That's good news; it's one of the few things ESPN does that doesn't make my stomach turn.

Purely from a football standpoint, I'll miss him.  One of the more exciting players I've seen in some time.

Ask any real fan for a list of the top five college football stadiums, and ninety percent of them will include Michigan Stadium.  This list is laughable at best.

I can picture my all-time favorite player, Alan Trammel, rockin that uniform while turning two with Sweet Lou.

So hard to listen to Cowherd.  I know he's ESPN's bad-boy-loose cannon and all, but I would rather rip my ears off than listen to him.  Cowherd's also the guy who said that Michigan was done forever as a national power a couple years ago.  

The Number 1 should forever be reserved for an All American-cailber wide receiver, in honor of Carter.  Similarly, the Number 2 should forever be reserved for an All American-caliber cornerback, in honor of Chuck.  #1=Carter, #2=Woodson.  Period.

Gave heart and soul to Michigan, and became one of my all-time favorites.  Very happy for him.

I think a mascot could really help us sell out some football games.  Lord knows what a struggle it's been without one.  

If it works out that way, great.  Can't ever bring myself to root for OSU, though.  

Cowherd is the "bad boy" at ESPN.  You never know what he'll say next.  He's a real loose cannon, that guy.  Don't tell him he can't wear jeans with a suit jacket... he's a maniac!  

Just another ESPN talking head who has nothing to say, and the biggest reason why I swore off sports talk radio in favor of blogs like this.

I've always wondered if some coaches warn kids about how tough UM's academics are as a way to steer recruits away.  I'd imagine a degree from Auburn would be somewhat, ah, easier to attain than one from UM.  

Love lists like these, and enjoyed your's,  though it's incomplete without Oosterbaan and Erick Anderson as starters, in my opinion.  And Harbaugh or Fiedman would be my starter at QB.

UM's uniforms are the best in college football just the way they are.  This may be the wave of the future, but I'm not a fan. 

Man, did Pipkins skyrocket.  Great to see, since he will be so heavily relied upon from day one.  

Michigan has the most iconic uniforms in college football without the helmet numbers.  It was cool for a season, but I'd like to see them go, along with those damn alternate uniforms.

I would like to see the helmet stickers return, though.

Don't think he'll lose his job next season unless the team totally implodes.  Kelly is a lot of things, but he can coach, and I think the brass at ND is growing tired of the coaching carosel the past few years.  If not for their -424 turnover ratio, they'd have at least two more victories this season.  The real test will be 2013 IMO.

Michigan became "Quarterback U" in the nineties and 2000s, sending Collins, Brady, Grbac, Henson, Griese and Henne to the pros (and Mallett was next).  While it's been a great ride with Denard, it's exciting to see UM going back to the pro-style offense, and recruiting pro-style QBs like Morris.

One thing's certain - UM will deserve it should it run the table with that murderous 2012 schedule,  

With NE needing a win to sew up home field, I expect Brady to get those 188.  Amazing that one of the greatest players in the history of the NFL was a primarily a platoon player at Michigan.

Easy to take it for granted now, but there are three shoo-in NFL Hall of Famers from Michigan playing right now in Brady, Woodson, and Hutchinson.  This will give UM 11 in the HOF, which will surpass ND's 10 and will tie USC's 11 all-time.  Keep going, Jake Long!
