Yeah there was actually an article in a beer publication recently about best beer cities & neither Florida nor Nashville is anywhere on the list. Portland,Boston, Boulder, Philly...those are beer towns (& Michigan has 2 fantastic breweries)

There is some good advice above, but let me break it down. 

-your hydrocodone dose is either 5, 7.5, or 10mg. It would be safe to take another 3 hours apart one time. The issue with taking too much of this medication would be respiratory depression (it'd be helpful if you had someone with you to ensure your breathing does not become labored or slow). It can also cause other side effects like itching and nausea (as well as constipation), but those aren't neccessarily dangerous

-the 500 you refer to is the Tylenol (acetaminophen). This is VERY IMPORTANT. Do NOT take more than 8 tabs (4000mg/4g) in one 24 hour period. You could go into liver failure. Also, obviously do not drink alcohol

If you are taking the medicine as prescribed after surgery and still in significant pain, a change of medicine could be in order. Oxycodone (when mixed with tylenol is known as percocet) is a stronger medicine.

Thank you for bringing this up. I didn't know much about him from a professional basketball player standpoint (my interest in the NBA declined with the Pistons performance). It is an interesting thought experiment (we will for obvious reasons never know) if he would have been re-signed WITHOUT coming out, but now will be interesting to see if he does get picked up by a team. It looks like he has bounced around teams and as Butterfield points out, has been minimally effective recently. This is about when teams just stop signing guys like this.

But let's throw this out there just for fun on an off-season Monday: Any chance a team would want to add him BECAUSE he came out? Be seen as super tolerant/politically-correct-to-the-max? Sounds odd but stranger things have happened. Thoughts?

PS My idealistic semi-political statement is that I wish he would signed or not signed based ONLY on his past and potential basketball production...and maybe that will be the case.

When this was happening the NJ Governor (you may remember him from Hurrican Sandy & SNL & his Hoke-likeness) was proposing a massive overhaul & reorganization of the state universities of NJ (including adding & eliminating schools from Rutgers' system). This is not to say that the president shouldn't be cognizant of things that could be harmful to his university and its representatives*, but if your AD notifies you that there is a situation with the basketball coach and you are taking action to correct poor behavior, that should be enough. For the president himself to be throwing himself into an investigation amounts to micro-managing. We can certainly debate if the AD actually handled the situation appropriately, but from the president's standpoint you have to trust your AD to handle a situation like this within the athletic department. 

*Since people are comparing this to the PSU scandal, I would hate for someone to have hidden behind any form of a "I'm too busy with something else to handle child molestation" argument.

I couldn't agree more with this statement. One of the first things I thought about (considering we knew no one was seriously hurt) was if someone at ESPN had an axe to grind with Rice because they seemed like they were actively trying to get him fired.

A VERY different ranking system is used to determine these programs. I'm honestly suprised that U-M did so well in this ranking. While widly known as a world-class teaching & reseach medical institution, to now be recognized as a leader in primary care training as well is quite something.

I wish I could actually remember the exact thing that brought me to the site, but at my current job I have a little more time for browsing than my previous practice. Browsed for about 3-4 months but got involved when Tay started his whole community garden project. Still read A LOT more than I acutally post.

Highly agree sir (or lady). EA already admitted to being in contact with the athletic departments. This is as close to a "everybody wins" scenario that you could get to in life. Both fanbases/ADs get "their guy" on there (likely in successive seasons), and EA gets 2 VERY popular and well know athletes on their covers. Makes sense to me. 

This whole facebook thing is mostly a hype machine anyways

I remember when I was a student (Amaker was fired when I was a senior) I watched and (obviously) rooted for the bball team, but everyone just had this down energy and expectations of failure. As Eric in Dayton recently pointed out, you can go too far in the other direction, but boy-o-boy have I enjoyed these successful years.

The plan for the weekend is brewery tour, BBQ, & German beer hall. As for today/night, probably the beer I brewed (I'm still a newbie so not holding my breath for a masterpiece)

As pointed out above, there was not a distinction one way or another on a blue Block-M with a  plain maize border, but a blue Block-M with a maize-[and then blue] (or double) border is unacceptable. I think if you have a white or maize backround, it only makes sense to use a blue block M (how poorly maize shows up on white or on top of other maize has been covered ad nauseum here)

What happened to the idea of 4 small conferences? (2 8-team & 2 7-team) I loved the idea. Every team would have a home-and-home with every other team. Made a lot of sense, renewed good rivalries. I know the NHLPA opposed it because they were gearing up for lockout and catagorically refused anything from the front office. But what gives? That was a good idea (one of the few out of Bettman's office)

I don't know that would be true. Why do you think they're connected? The "powers that be" might say NC State is tied @ the hip to UNC, but I don't think a private school is "tied" to UNC. Of course Duke is AAU so it isn't out of the realm of possiblity, but I just don't see it. The B1G now wants flagship schools that will bring in the whole state (& between Charlotte and the triangle, that would be a lot of people)

Also, chief rivalry has not been important as far expansion has been concerned recently. Nebraska-Oklahoma, Texas-TAMU, Missouri-Kansas, 'Cuse-UCONN, Pitt-WVU, Rutgers-...OK you got me there, but you get my point. 

Don't be suprised if lacrosse (before hockey or baseball) becomes the next money making sport. It is a very fast growing sport which is entertaining to watch on TV (and is having rules to make it move even faster and fan friendly)

Highly agree with this. We have 4 losses. ALL on the road. ALL to top 25 teams. The "bad loss" that we do have is to a top 5 team (and has been top 10-15 for most of the season). Although we may have come closer than people would have liked for comfort sake last night, we don't have a "bad loss"

Active how? You should be able to continue most activities without the surgery. Pivot activities/sports (Bball, maybe tennis) will be difficult. However you are leaning, WAIT. Your pain from the initial injury & bone bruising will heal & then you'll know what your symptoms are

I agree with many posters that he doesn't HAVE to aplogize, but I appreciate the maturity he shows by recognizing a bad (understated) performance last night and acknowledging it while striving to do better. I like this.

*However, the last U-M player I remember doing a public mea culpa after a big loss was Tate Forcier so...about that maturity thing*

I graduated more recently and did not know 1 person who brought a firearm to campus. I was in a fraternity and I think back to some scuffles and issues that arose with other fraternities (almost always after alcohol comsumption) and I now thank God that no one was armed. I am genuinely not trying to get political, but I can only image how drunk fights could escilate if someone had a gun. 

I hope so badly that these things happen less and less, but given the current direction, I am pessimistic. 

I don't currently live in Michigan and never listen to the ticket. I think of MSU as our primary Bball rivals and wanted to see what the MGoCommunity thought

I'd like to add that Delaware plays in Newark (same spelling different pronounciation than NJ). It is right off I-95 just south of the only true city in Delawere, Wilmington. For those of you in NYC/North Jersey, Philly/SJ, Maryland/DC this would not be a hard day trip to see the team in person. UofD has a nice, albeit small, campus. 

Once Morgan is healthy and splitting minutes with McGary I think Horford should split time with GRIII. I like GRIII just fine, but he can't keep playing 40 minutes a game. I also really like what Horford brings to the game. I like the idea of Morgan/GRIII alternating with McGary/Horford frontcourts. An offensive specialist and rebounding specialist (way over-generalizing the players I know) in each pairing. McGary can be a GREAT player but there is no doubt their interior defense and rebounding take a dip when he is playing the 5. Having Horford out there too may mitigate some of that. At this point it doesn't look like they'll get much production out of their backcourt bench.

I like Vitale. I like the color anouncer to be enthusiastic and know what he is talking about-even if it comes off as goofy (same reason I like Gruden for MNF). I enjoy Vitale's excitability in the games, and let's face it-anybody is better than Kellogg

I've been thinking this for awhile now. He is absolutely talented, but just seems like he can't quite put it all together. Unfortunately, injuries have played a role in this. Hard to get into a rhythm if you can't consistently practice and play. He has not had an injury free season yet. 

My guess for a more likely 2014 controversy: Gardner dosn't come back and it is Morris vs. true freshman wunder-recruit vs. Bellomy (maybe). Don't forget it is possible that Devin makes great progress in the off-season, has an outstanding year, takes advantage of an easier schedule, lights things up and decides to jump to the NFL. What would perhaps make this unlikely is how strong of a class that next year's NFL QB class will (potentially) be. THAT is your more likely 2014 QB controversy scenario.

C'mon the U! That is the avatar of the Sons of Ben-the main supporters group of the Philadelphia Union. Going to these games is more fun than going to the Eagles games. I still love being in Michigan Stadium, but a lot of that is due to it being sentamental. I agree that going to Philly Union >> TV whereas going to Big House >or= to TV (UTL notwithstanding) and finally Eagles/NFL<<<TV.

My concern is as TV timeouts get longer and longer for CFB that going to the games will feel more like the NFL. This means more incentive to stay home, actually drink a beer while watching the game, cheaper better food, etc. I think that we are going to see attendance continue to go down in CFB. What we may see is Michigan and other powerhouse programs continue with huge attendance but the MSU, Illinois, Cal, Cinncy type schools will see a dip...if not plumet of attendance

I think that we got a slight advantage as far as calls (not nearly as much as the fans at "the Barn" would argue)

However, they did something the refs at OSU didn't...they actually called the mauling hits fouls <gasp>...too much physicality is allowed and just chalked up to "o this is the B1G" in my opinion. A foul should be a foul, and last I checked tackling was only allowed in football and checking was only allowed in hockey.

He was NOT duped. This is simply too implausable given all of the information that has been   presented. What I really wonder is which NFL team and/or journalist will nail him with the "smoking gun" and give definitave proof of his involvement.

Wolverines & Eagles fan here too. I actually think he was my first choice (only other person who could have possibly been first was JOHN Gruden). I love the high risk, high reward hire here. He may fail, but if he succeeds this could be the next Mike Tomlin type hire that sustains them for a long period of success. At the least...the absolute minimum...it will be VERY interesting to tune in on Sundays. This team is going to be so fun to watch (as is/was Oregon). Can't say that about this year's team.

Good question. Without an MRI I really can't tell you if it is bruised/irritated or entrapped. Nerves are netorious for slow healing, but it has been over 2 months without improvement (and it sounds like this was a re-aggrivation of previous problems). My best from-the-couch guess diagnosis would be entrappment, but who knows (that is rhetorical...obviously he and his docs do)

Now that the season is over and we're in to this kind of Draft prep stuff my question is when would he consider surgery for his arm. Considering how long this has lingered it is quite possible he'd need ulnar nerve transposition. I would imagine he'd want to do that after the senior bowl before the draft. Or conversely does he try to minimize this until he is drafted and let the NFL team docs guide his decision. Thoughts?
