Seriously, constantly stating having "open tryouts for any student" to be the kicker is not displaying confidence in your kicker. And let's be honest, Kicking has got to be mostly confidence, any D-I kicker has a strong and at least semi-accurate leg. |

I agree. I do not unerstand how this would even be fun to play? I would like to play as Michigan with Woodson, Harmon and Desmond, but not other teams' Heisman winners. No way I am buying 2013. 2014, however with Shane Morris and the new playoff format (assuming them implement it despite it not going into real life effect until a year later), I will be buying that game. |

I have to agree with Herm here. 4 years ago, it would have been awesome to have had the single most stationary QB in the history of QB's running Rich Rod's spread offense in his first season as head coach. And don't try to bring up that throw back reverse against Minnesota. The Offensive Lineman leading him had to slow down so he could catch up. |

I graduated in 2005 and by Fall of 2006 was working in NJ, a job that I did not have to be at until 1pm. I remember getting ready in the morning and seeing the news on ESPN. I stopped getting ready and just stood there, staring blankely into nothingness. I grew up a Michigan fan as both of my parents are Michigan alums as well, having attended Michigan from 1968-1974 (graduate school included). My dad was there when Bo was hired. I grew up watching Michigan on TV, seeing Bo on the sidelines before he retired when I was 6 years old. Bo gave a speech at my graduation in 2005, something I will always remember. I called my dad, knowing that he does not watch much TV or check internet news sites to inform him of the news. There was a silence from both ends of the phone. I have seen my dad cry exactly one time in my life, the day his mother was diagnosed with cancer (his father passed away prior to my birth so if he cried then, I didn't see it). While I was on the phone and could not see my dad, this was the 2nd time I heard him cry. The Michigan family lost a leader and a father/grandfather that day. But Bo lives on in each of us, in Ann Arbor, and in the University of Michigan. |

For me its Novak and Horton. Maybe Horton because I went to U of M and had season tickets 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 and remember wishing he had some more help. I was always optimistic about our team only to be disapointed. But hey, at least it was super easy to get bleacher tickets those years! |

Was a good read. Appreciate you finding this article. On another note, in regards to recruiting, how do guys like Calipari do it? There is no way he can totally know who will be on his team the next season, does he over recruit? Does he expect 4 players to leave early every season? But what if they don't? Recruits seem to be committing so much earlier these days, I'm amazed that with so many kids leaving early to go to the NBA that he is still able to put together such strong recruiting classes. |

I can agree with that. It will be very interesting to see how each coach gets their team ready to play. Saban of course is a known coaching commodity, Coach Hoke, of course less so (I of course love our coach, but in terms of career accomplishment he is not Nick Saban [which is kind of a good thing! {TRIPLE PARANTHESIS}]). Player development will be huge in this game. Can Black and Roh adapt to new positions on the D-line quick enough to get pressure on the QB and help stop the run? I hate off seasons. :( |

Will we be playing as well on D as we did in January? We also have not played a game in 8 months and will be looking to replace key peices on D. Like everybody else on here (except for that RollTide guy) I hope we win and feel that we definitely have a shot. I just do not understand the concept of "we have a better shot because its the first game." It's the first game for us too! Neither team will be in mid-season form. |

I really think the key to next year's team will be the ability to score more points than their opponents. |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | While I agree that being |
While I agree that being angry about our football program from 2008-2010 after what happened this season is in fact dumb and misguided, I fail to see how "The only guy who suffered from the whole deal is Rich Rodriguez." Really? The guy made millions of dollars while he was here and (not sure of his contract at Arizona) is set to make a great salary at his new job. Did he suffer some? Sure, no coach likes to lose. But he is still doing all right for himself. How about those border line NFL players who probably didn't get drafted due to the negative views of playing on a losing team? I think they suffered way more than Rodriguez. (Clearly I have no factual evidence to back up any players not getting drafted due to the lack of success of the teams they played on, there's no way to know who, if any, would have been had we done better). |

Great interview. With how much you hear/see on BTN about Zack, Stu and Trey, I feel like THJ has been sort of lost (by the media). I feel like his play will be instrumental on our ability to make an NCAA run. I also love seeing his dad geared out in the maize and blue in the stands. |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | That all makes sense. You |
That all makes sense. You need to take 12 credits though to live in the dorms (or you did when I was there in 2001-2005), does this rule apply to football players? I realize 15 credits is what you need to graduate per semester in 4 years, so 12 is still under that. The football players who lived on my floor were taking at least 3 classes, could have been 4. The one I was friends with was definitely always either at practice, at class, or studying during football season. |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | I stopped watching women's |
I stopped watching women's basketball 8 years ago when I witnessed this series of events take place in the 2nd round of the women's NCAA tournament. I forget the teams, but one was Black and one was Red, so we'll refer to them thusly: Black team inbounding ball with about 15 seconds left down by 1 point. Girl throwing it in pump fakes the pass, at which time the defender guarding her grabs the ball right out of her hands (while she is still waiting to inbound the ball). Red team gets hit with a delay of game warning. Black then inbounds the ball to their PG at the top of the circle. The defender guarding her decides (for no apparent reason) to run at the Black team player who was at the wing. Since there was now nobody defending the ball, the woman with the ball drove to the basket (which was 100% wide open) as time was expiring. She missed the wide open lay up and the Black team lost. I'll still watch if Michigan is playing, but then again I'll watch anything Michigan related. |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | Is it really that low? I |
Is it really that low? I graduated in 4 years, and while I did take one semester of Spring classes, that was only because I withdrew from Bio 161 my sophomore year (which being a lab science was 5 credits). I just know I have heard many times of senior football players taking like 2 classes just so they could still be students. I think Matt Leinart was taking 1 his senior year, and I believe it was Ballroom Dancing. Maybe these are redshirt seniors which is why this happens. |

| 1 year 15 weeks ago | I feel like if Mel Kiper |
I feel like if Mel Kiper turned his head fast enough, his hair would seperate from his scalp, thus he avoids performances that would turn his head too fast, thus Junior has not been listed as a riser on his boards.
It all makes total sense. |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | I think with how popular it |
I think with how popular it has become for NFL QB's to throw back shoulder throws, and Junior's ability to go up and get passes, he will be a serviceable NFL WR. I never saw a ton of seperation in college from him, so these numbers he is putting up are quite remarkable. Does he just run poor routes? I don't know enough about technique/route running to know if this is true or not. But I would think this is something that can be taught and learned by Junior making him much more productive. |

| 1 year 38 weeks ago | I did the same |
I did the same thing with my SDSU tickets that came with my ND tickets. What I was wondering though, is since after selling them on Stub Hub I still had the SDSU tickets in my possession, what would stop me from being a complete tool and going to the stadium and selling them again? or selling them on ebay, or whatever? I realize the people probably could not get into the stadium with my tickets since the bar code probably transfers, but they wouldn't know that ahead of time. |

Not using geography terms or famous coaches? What does that leave? I mean, technically, lakes are a geographical feature so they would be out assuming Delaney is serious about the "no geographical names." What is he going to name them? Adjectives? Strength Division and Courage Division? That's just silly IMO. I kinda liked the "Great Lakes" and "Great Plains" that was suggested by one of the announcers during the PSU game. Though, I didn't nor haven't looked at the divisions to see if this would even fit. And of course it uses geographical features. |

| 2 years 38 weeks ago | Ryan Mallet may have stayed |
Ryan Mallet may have stayed at Michigan if RR was not the hire after Lloyd, but I doubt that counts as "RR ran him out of town." Maybe I am just lacking all of the information, but if you were Ryan Mallett and a coach came in looking for a QB with the skill set of Superma...i mean Denard Robinson, wouldn't you look for a more suitable fit? Mallett is an NFL quality and styled QB, staying at Michigan would have been a mistake for him. I wish him the best of luck and hope he beats Bama. |
| 2 years 38 weeks ago | My superstition |
I wear my M basketball shorts, circa 2000 that have a giant whole in the crotch (as opposed to the pair that had the waist ripped up and the string no longer in the waist). With this i throw on my M polo shirt and M baseball cap. I then sit on my couch in the same position each week.
I also yell at my wife if she moves and the game flow starts to turn towards the opponents favor. BTW, against Umass i did NONE of these things as I was as over confident and under prepared as the actual team. I promise it will not happen again.
I just have to figure out what i am going to do when i go to the Iowa game in October, shorts with hole in crotch does not sound like a good idea. Though the shirt and hat will be present. |
