| 3 weeks 9 hours ago | So |
So because one they got one pick wrong means they have no "real insight" into any recruiting situation? That seems like a blatant over reaction to me. Obviously I'm not going to live and die by their word. They will be wrong sometimes, like with Hood and Bunting, and Bars seems like the type of kid who they could potentially be wrong on. But to say they have no real insight is foolish. They obviously don't know 100% where any kid is going until the LOI is signed, but they definitely have a better idea than us as fans. And Hood was also a very unexpected situation. He said ND was his #1 for the longest time, then said he wanted to stay close to home in NC, and then before giving any indication that that wasn't the case he committed to ND. Now obviously this could happen with Bars as well, where he does something the "experts" don't expect, but that seems to be the exception and not the rule. |
| 3 weeks 9 hours ago | Post by 247 Michigan |
Post by 247's Clint Brewster, one of the Michigan writers for the site, when asked what he feels about his pick of Bars to Michigan: "Yeah I still feel confident but not quite as much as I did before. I know Barton Simmons has a great relationship with Bars and he still has him going to Michigan" All the people who are saying that Bars is an ND lean are basing it off the fact that ND fans have said supposedly the dad wants him to go to ND and the only reasons his brother's didn't is because they didn't get offered. That may be true, and Bars may go to ND, but I've yet to see anything from any expert or writer saying Bars to ND. |

Damien Harris, RB out of KY, has been very interested in Michigan, supposed to be a top 5 overall player talent, and we're the presumed favorites at this point. |

What's the source? No one in this thread has given any sources for saying that he's an ND lean. I don't have any subscriptions, so I don't know myself, but based on 247 alone, he seems to be a Michigan lean. |

| 4 weeks 10 hours ago | No shit |
No shit it's depending on what group you poll. That's why I said students. The group I am talking about being polled in students. My point was specifically about students. The polls on Facebook I've seen are all student responses. The poll you posted is open to the public, majority non students, so of course the results are different. |
| 4 weeks 12 hours ago | I agree |
I agree with all of that, but keep in mind we had a pretty bad home schedule this year, especially to the average fan. We only had one big time game, MSU. Northwestern and Air Force were great games, but to the average fan, a non-MGoBlog reading, football obssessed, Michigan die hard, Northwestern and Air Force had no big name appeal. I'm only saying this because for a lot of these kids, if you tell them that we're playing Northwestern the next day, they'll have no problem missing the beginning of the game because they think it's going to be a boring game and if they miss the beginning to drink they won't miss much. If you give us this year's home schedule, however, with ND, OSU, and Nebraska, I doubt we see nearly the attendance issue. I'm still for the change, but I do think last year was an anomally with the awful home schedule. |
| 4 weeks 12 hours ago | My take |
My Take on the situation; Keep in mind that it's not just the "drunk sorority" student who doesn't like this change. A vast majority of students who have been answering polls on Facebook have said they hate it, Brian acknowleged as much in his front page post. So while everyone here likes to bash the kids who are drinking, the so called "drunk sorority girl", for hating this policy, every student does basically. Whether kids are pregaming or just sitting in their dorm room, most students would rather have a guaranteed seat at a certain spot that they can get whether they leave at 11:15 or 11:45. Now they have no idea where they'll sit before hand, and most people would rather do whatever they want than have to stand in line for 30-45 minutes before they normally would and still not be guaranteed a good seat. That being said, as a current student and someone in Greek Life, I'm in favor of the change. I'm willing to leave 30 minutes ealier to get a better seat, I'll just start pregamming 30 minutes earlier. I think if you're willing to wait in line for an extra 30 minutes, you should get a better seat. I'm also fine with reducing the size of the student section. But just keep in mind, this isn't just Greek life who doesn't like this change, most students don't.

| 4 weeks 2 days ago | I don't |
I don't know much about Knox, but from the little I've gathered, I don't think we'll have a great shot. He originally wanted to be a package deal with a HS teammate of his who is remaining committed to Texas despite Knox decommitting, and Knox has since announced a top 3 of OSU, Miami, and UCLA. I don't think we'll be a big player, but who knows, it's still early on. |
| 4 weeks 4 days ago | 1. McGary |
1. McGary He was our best player in the tournament, and while some of that was because of Burke, he showed the ability to score on his own as well by crashing the boards or shooting a 15 footer or the occasional drive. And while Walton isn't as good a scorer as Burke, I do think as a true passing PG the drop is not as significant. I think McGary could be an All-American this year. 2. Go by situation Obviously with no Burke and Hardaway, who were probably the first two options last year, there's no clear cut answer. So I say go by committee. Until someone steps up as the last minute guy, go by where we have the biggest advantage. If they're a poor perimeter defensive team, go with Stauskas. If we have the size advantage down low, go McGary, etc. 3. Walton This one is a toss up to me. I think there will be a pretty even split of minutes, so starter doesn't really matter, but if I have to choose, I'll say Walton overtakes Spike by this point. 4. Stauskas He started pretty much the entire year this year, and while at moments he struggled, he has an entire offseason to get better with Beilein now and grow. I do think both start eventually, but more because I think we shy away from the 2-big system and go with 3 guards again. 5. McGary As I said, All-American potential, I think he becomes the best player and leading scorer next year. |

As someone from NJ, 10 hour drive from NJ to Michigan is about right. A little on the quick side, but accurate. Also keep on mind, Peppers, who is from NJ, is not considering VT. His top two are us and Stanford. Hand, from VA, has a top two of us and VT. And both these top two's are assumed based on what people have been saying, not the kid's official top two's. |
| 4 weeks 5 days ago | If you want |
If you want to play that game... Michigan is 4-6 in their last 10 bowl games. We have won the B1G twice in that span. Also Va Tech has won the ACC 4 times in that span. You can't play that game. It's not all about recent success, or else we would not be recruiting at the level we are. It's about coaching staff, and Hand's favorite coach is Bud Foster. It's about proximity to home, and Hand is from Virginia. It's about so many other things, saying "We're Michigan Fergodsakes", while a great rally call, is a cop out and just dumb to say in this instance. |

*All recruit data according to rivals, current numbers based on OSU's roster on their official website. OSU currently has 15 OL on their roster, which doesn't include the two incoming true freshman, so it's really 17. Of those 17, 5 are seniors, with one being a walkon. There are an additional 3 walkons of the remaining 12 players. So next year, OSU will have 9 scholarship OL returning, and only one of those will have starting experience. Since 2009, OSU has signed 17 OL. Of those 17, 5 are no longer listed on the roster as OL, meaning they have either switched positions or left the program. In the same time, Michigan has signed 16 (technically 17 but one is the LS Sypniewski) OL. Of those, 3 have left the program or are no longer OL. So in the big picture both teams picture looks bleak-ish, but Michigan has taken significantly more OL in the past 2 years and also at a higher quality. |

To everyone who is opposed to Weber coming back, why hold grudge for this long? It's been 20 years, are you not over it? It's done, it happened, we paid our dues, he paid his, let bygones be bygones and lets move on. Hell, look at the story of Brian Banks. He's already forgived the lady that falsely accused him of rape. That's something significantly worse than what Webber ever did, and what the woman did to Banks directly effected him, what Webber did, no matter how much we love Michigan, really didn't effect the fan's lives at all. If he can forgive why the hell can't you guys? |

Fuck this team so hard, I'm tired of their cocky bullshit. Learn to play some fucking defense, team as a whole, but specifically talking to you Glenn Robinson/Nik Stauskas. And learn to make some playups Jordan Morgan. Morgan is really getting on my fucking nerves lately, but I've never disliked a player as much as I dislike Glenn Robinson right now. Kid's a spoiled brat who is using Michigan as a 1 year stepping stone to the NBA and he couldn't care less how the team does. |

I almost want this team to lose. Despite already losing to this team and just blowing a game against Indiana, they come out cocky as ever and are struggling against Penn State. Someone needs to put the egos of this entire team in check, or else they're in for an early exit in the tourney. |
| 9 weeks 6 days ago | As someone |

2 years ago, during the basketball season. Football had obviously been disappointing and this was the Darius Morris year for basketball where we were on the buble. I was looking for any coverage I could of Michigan basketball to drown out the sorrows of football. I was on ESPN's CBB blog right before the home MSU game and saw this site linked in the side bar. Came here, have been hooked ever since. |
| 10 weeks 6 days ago | Because |
Because at times our defense is that bad |
| 10 weeks 6 days ago | Very nice to see |
Very nice to see this all in one spot. We can't get the 1 seed no matter what, but it seems like our most realistic shot at the 2 is for MSU to beat Wisco and Illinois to beat OSU, with us beating Indiana obviously. I think MSU will win tonight, so asuming we beat Indiana, it all comes down to Illinois upsetting OSU @ OSU. Possible, but I wouldn't bet on it. |
| 11 weeks 24 min ago | I agree |
I agree about the overall #1, but I do think 3-1 gets us a 1, or at least a very good shot. That would include a win over Indiana, plus most likely a win over MSU/OSU/Wisconsin as well. And since our championship game is so late on Sunday, it's very possible the committee doesn't even consider the outcome in seeding, they've done it in the past. Also, consider MSU last year. They were a 1 seed last year with 7 losses, including losing their last 2 B1G games, and having just lost Dawson to injury. I think us with 6 losses would be very comprable to them last year, with a weaker field of 1 seeds to boot. |
| 11 weeks 36 min ago | I wouldn't say win it |
If we beat Indiana and win two games and get to the finals of the BTT, I think we could get it regardless, espcially if some of the other potential 1's lose early in their tournaments. |

They're all playing like fucking dumbasses, and John Beilien should be popping a damn vein right now. And end all this BS talk about GR3 going to the draft, kid plays like shit anytime a player with half an iota of talent is lined up against him. Fuck this team, fuck losing to Sparty again. I hope there is a special edition of TWIS just for this game, because all shit we get from Sparty is completely deserved. We are getting our fucking asses handed to us. | 17 weeks 4 days ago | Texas just opened |
Texas just opened up a 42-31 lead over Kansas with 15:21 left in the second. Would be big if Kansas were to lose, as that would guarantee us moving up to at least 3rd in the new rankings. If Louisville were to lose, we would move up to 2, and possibly one if voters feel our win over Minnesota warrants us jumping Duke. Also, while Purdue has looked good, lets keep in mind that WVU is a pretty crappy team. |

We don't have the best offensive big men, so that could hurt us, but not many teams have dominant big men in college nowadays, and I think the trio of Morgan, McGary and Horford is a very good trio to have. Obviously not as good as Zeller or Plumlee, but better than most. Also, everyone always says guard play wins in the tourney, if you have a guard who can take over like Kemba Walker did a few years ago, you can go far. And we definitely have that in Burke. |
| 18 weeks 6 days ago | One of the |
One of the shittiest weeks for Notre Dame in a while continues. I am enjoying it. |
| 19 weeks 3 days ago | This is |
This is why this team is so great. Played at times a pretty crappy first half. Burke and Stauskas were non factors for a while. Some bad defense. Morgan in foul trouble. Iowa hitting a lot of shots. And we're still up 11. |

He's right guys. I mean a thread about a Michigan State Bowl Game? It's not like we do that for every bowl game that's played. We MUST be obsessed. The thread about Narduzzi really seals it though. I mean, it's not like we also posted about Soup Campbell at Iowa getting fired and Chris Beatty at Illinois too right? It's not that we just want to discuss a potential major coaching change that would have an arguably top 2 D Coordinator in the B1G leaving the B1G, right? No, it must be our inferiority complex. |
| 19 weeks 4 days ago | Maybe Last Year |
This year Michigan has attempted 297 3's out of 818 total shots, or 36% of the shots. That's higher than the average team, but not by much, and down significantly down from the 44% from last year. Illinois on the other hand, has 384 attempted 3's out of 899 shots, or a 43% clip. Significantly higher than our clip this year, basically our team from last year. Illinois also shoots 37% from three compared to our 42%, so we're more efficient than them this year, and our team last year. So not really. Try again later. |
| 19 weeks 4 days ago | Yeah |

| 19 weeks 4 days ago | Still |
Still Indiana. Illinois beat Ohio State handily, yes, but their offense wasn't that impressive and they rely too much on the three. They have a bad loss to Purdue already as well. I think we can handle them. |

I don't know how "sincere" Hagerup's apology really is. With Floyd, this was his first time being suspended (unless there's an event that's slipping my mind), it would have been his last game as a Wolverine, and it would have been against his home town team. The language of his apology and just all the extenuating circumstances don't make me doubt the sincerity of his apology. With Hagerup, not so much. If he was so sincere, he wouldn't have gotten suspended 3 times for the same thing and would have stopped by now. Maybe this is really the last time, or maybe it's just him pgyy-backing off of Floyd's apology to save face. I obviously don't know which for sure, but if I had to guess, I'd guess the latter. |
| 22 weeks 3 days ago |
This is me reading way too much into a 17 year old kids twitter, just for the funsies: This report comes out saying he won't visit, and he's eliminated us. He tweets 5 hours ago that he will visit us. His most recent tweet is saying that he's going to wear number #1 next year in college, and he's going to be announcing soon. That seems innocent enough, but he doesn't wear #1 in high school. Now it's possible he just wants to wear #1 in college, but considering how big of a deal #1 is at Michigan, there could be some connection there. Now I know you're all saying, "But MichiganMan2424, if this is true, why would he come out and say he's eliminated Michigan? Also, you're an idiot for reading this much into a kid's twitter." Well the second part is true, but regardless. We all know WRs can be huge divas. While Treadwell hasn't done anything wrong in his recruiting process, he hasn't helped himself with that diva tag. And what would be more diva then at your announcement, pulling out a Michigan hat of a team you said you eliminated and committing there? Now I'm not saying I expect this, but in the short time I've followed recruiting, if any prospect were to do this, it'd be Treadwell. |

| 22 weeks 4 days ago | He |
He doesn't have a choice, early decision is binding, he has to go to Northwestern. |
| 22 weeks 4 days ago | Also, something |
Also, something else that I remember from last year's process, there are actually 3 types of deferral letters. Each one says something different, and depending on which letter your daughter received, that may say something about her chances. If you don't mind, could you post the first few entences of the letter your daughter received? If you did that, I could try and tell what the general consensus on that letter is. |
| 22 weeks 4 days ago | You can't |
You can't get waitlisted at this stage of applying. When you apply ealy action/early decision, there are three possible outcomes. The first two are accepted and rejected, which speak for themselves. The third is deferred. Deferred basically means that they think you may be good enough to get in, but they want to see how you compare against the larger, regular decision pool. No one who applies early ever gets waitlisted, you can only get wait listed after you hear back at the regular decision deadline. Basically, now that your daughter's deferred, it means that Michigan wants to see more of her credentials. This probably means sending in her first semester senior year grades, any new standardized tests she's taken, or whatever else the school asks for or you think would help her case. Then, once they get all that, they will make a decision on her application along with the rest of the regular decision kids. At that point, she will either get accepted, rejected, or waitlisted. As for when she'll hear back, I'm not sure. My guess is the latest she'll hear back is whenever the deadline for telling regular decision kids their results are, which is sometime in April I think, but it could possibly be much earlier. It varies. As for personal experiences, I go to Michigan now as a freshman. I know many kids who got in after being deferred and currently go here. But I also know a few kids from my high school who got rejected after being deferred. One of the kids I know who got in heard back 3 weeks after he was deferred. While I doubt your daughter will hear back that soon, it is possible I guess. |

If he wants to go to OSU, all the power to him. I just hope we don't start bashing his character and all that like OSU fans did to Kalis. If he goes to OSU, OSU is getting a very good player. It will suck for any good player to go to OSU, especially one who was committed to us, but if he does end up going there, which I doubt, in the end, it's football, he's done nothing to offend me. However, he will have hopefully offended our current committs, who he used to wake up every day to and tell "Go Blue"and talk about Team 134 with. I hope those players are offended, and if he does go to OSU, make it their mission every year at "The Game" to show him what a colossal mistake ge made. |

I hate how overrated ND is year in and year out. But after their recent string of mediocrity and their fans posting things like "I don't ever think we'll beat Michigan in my lifetime again", they have become a much more tolerable fan base. MSU has the most annoying fanbase to ever walk this planet, so fuck 'em. I've accepted that the B1G is crap as of now. So I'm not going to even worry about the B1G's appearance right now and that a MSU win looks good for the B1G, all I care about is us winning the B1G. So I'm going to be rooting for the team I hate less, ND. Also, it'll be fun beating ND again this year, especially after they've beaten MSU and have even more unwarranted hype than usual. And on the off cance they beat us, oh well, after the past 3 years I can deal with 1 loss to ND. |

In 2013, Touissant will still be the starter, assuming he doesn't leave early, so that's wrong to begin with. Also I don't know if I'd call Rawls the second string back, considering Vincent Smith is going to be getting a ton of playing time as well. He'd be the starter if Touissant went down/doesn't play due to suspension, but Smith will also be getting significant playing time as well. Green would have a chance to start in 2014, when it would be a 2nd year Green vs a 4th year Rawls, both with 0 years starting experience. Assuming Green is as advertised and isn't a bust, I wouldn't be surprised if he surpases Rawls. In Auburn's case, it would be a true freshman Green battling a 3rd year Mason. I'd expect a 3rd year player who has played significantly in the two years prior and was a top 200 player to beat out a true freshman, regardless of how talented he is. So Mason would presumable be the starter in 2013, and hold the role in 2014 as well, making it harder for Green to play right away. |

| 38 weeks 4 days ago | I'm |
I'm actually fairly confident in our chances with Green. We're in his top two no doubt with Auburn. If academics are truely high on his list, we have a huge advantage there. If he wants to play right away, I think he has a better chance here as well. Touissant will be a RS Senior so after he's gone the competition will be wide open between him, Rawls, Smith, and the rest of the backs. He could definitely play as a freshman even just as a change of pace back or a goalline bruiser, so he could play right away. And while I don't want him to, there's a slight chance Touissant enters the draft if he does well enough, so that would open up playing time right away. In 2013, Auburn will have a RB named Tre Mason who will be a true junior and will almost definitely be the starter, he's currently the second string back and played as a freshman as well. And depending on the route Javon Robinson takes, he could potentially re-enroll in Auburn as a 2013 recruit, and he's a talented 4 star RB who would challenge Green for time. If he wants to decide in October, he already has us penciled in as a visit for October 20th. If he were to decide in Ocotber, that means that unless he visits Auburn the next week vs Texas A&M, we would have the last visit, which would bode well for us. And looking at Auburn's schedule, they have a brutal first 2 months. They play Clemson in Georgia, at Mississippi State, vs LSU, vs Arkansas, at Vanderbilt, and vs Texas A&M are all games they have before the end of October, and all are very loseable. If they struggle early on, that may change his opinion of them a lot. They also have a new OC, former Michigan QB Scott Loeffler, so how the Auburn Offense performs under him matters as well. Auburn is also the presumed favorite for top RB Greg Bryant. If he committs to them before Green, it's assumed they won't have room for Green, and once again, that makes us the favorite. Now all of this could very well be me with my Maize & Blue glasses on, but I really think he have a legit shot with him, and after his reaction to his first visit here, I really think we have a good shot.

Looks like the end of the night for Shane Morris with DLS up 35-0. He finishes 14-25 for 178 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT. End of Morris's day. Not a great stat line, but after his shaky start, he seemed to impress the rest of the way. |

Stephen J. Nesbitt Shane Morris now 14-for-25 for 178 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT midway through the third quarter. When Shane Morris is on he is freaking on. After a slow start hes been tearing up Pioneer, which has been playing a nickel the entire time After Morris led a surgical drive down the field, De La Salle’s RB punched it in from a yard out to make it 35-0. 4/5 for around 65 yards. Gedeon fumbles hand off on third and goal from the two. Still 14-7 Hudson late in the third. |

He started 2-9, has gone 5 of 5 with 2 TDs since. Nice to seem him start to play to the level we all know he can. Maybe some early nerves got to him? Regardless he's on track for 200+ yards and 4 TDs. That's a solid day no matter what, and if he plays like he has after the 2 for 9 start he can do even better. |
| 38 weeks 5 days ago | Eh |
Eh, it's Jesse Palmer. His opinion on this topic definitely doesn't deserve it's own thread. I also don't agree with the idea that because we lost to App. State once we should never schedule them again. Are we scared of App State? Do we fear them so much that we never want to play them again? No. If we're going to schedule a cupcake, why not App State? Yes I know, that "The Horror" will be brought up every time we play them, but maybe if it's brought up every time we play them, it'll make the players on that work that much harder not to let it happen again. "The Horror" will never have not happened, and it will always be there as a loss in our record books. Nothing will ever erase that horrible feeling. But if we scheduled App. State 100 times, and beat them 100 times, I wouldn't mind.

Replace Oklahoma-WVU with Stanford-Oregon. And most likely MSU-Michigan will be replaced, but I'm holding out hope it stays. |
| 41 weeks 3 days ago | That |
That probably has more to do with sheer numbers than anything. MSU only has 10 commits at this point vs 16 for Illinois, and Illinois only has 1 more player from Michigan. I would be very surprised if by the time MSU had 16 players, they didn't gain at least 1 more from Michigan. |

This also stood out to me; "USC is not allowed to go over 75 scholarship players, thanks to sanctions the school received in 2010 due to improper benefits.
