I assume the comment about the smell in golden is related to the smell of hops coming from the Coors Brewery right in the middle of town, which isn't always awesome, but that's the price you pay for having a brewery. You can go in and have free samples pretty much everyday, as I did as a student.
Denver itself is a great city, and the traffic up to the resorts can be god awful at times. You'll usually miss the brunt of the traffic if you get on the road early enough on the weekends (out of the city by 6 or 6:30am), but it's tough to miss the traffic coming back unless you come back from the mountains after 7pm or later.
Boulder is probably the closest you'll get to an Ann Arbor setting, although for a large city, I don't think you could do much better than Denver.

A lot of the same people that were calling for RR to be fired after his first season, and who were calling for kovacs to be replaced every year before his senior year. Some people are just not happy with what they've got and just don't have the patience to let someone complete their job. Agreed that I'm upset with the playcalling and Borges in general, but damn guys, pull yourselves together. Shit.

Am I the only one that sees Sparty taking a step back next season. Not a huge step back, but losing Cousins/Worthy/Baker/WRs is going to hurt them. I keep hearing from them that Maxwell isn't going to miss a beat from where Cousins left off, but I'm very skeptical of that. Experience means a lot to a strating QB.
I guess I just don't understand why we dropped and they remain in the top 10... I figure 14 is about right for us, but I see Sparty lower than that.

I really really enjoy reading these analyses that you put together!
I notice that you chose the Rivals database to use for your recruiting rankings, which makes a lot of sense since they have the most data available. I wonder if you could use your same methodologies and Scout/ESPN/247 databases (assuming information is available) to see how their rankings correlate with future success and thus provide another bullet point in the argument of which recruiting service has the most reliable rankings.
Obviously team success and individual success are not the same, and also you can only really work with the data that is available. But I think it would certainly be interesting, especially as more and more recruiting data becomes available.

Not everybody has the same policy that Hoke has about visits. The staff knows this, and soon recruits will know this too. There's nothing wrong with trying to recruit kids that are willing to listen. He is just holding Michigan commits to a higher standard, as he should.

During the RR era, it was easy to say that they were players that didn't support RR's program. However, with all of the support for Hoke from former players (some of who played when Hoke was an assistant coach), I would be surprised if they are still unhappy with the direction the program is headed or how things are currently being handled...

I see your point, our depth is much more concerning at other positions of need. Although I believe the LBs can really make or break a defense.
I hope its not true about Ringer either, he was one of the first commits this year and looked like a good hard-nosed kid.

|4 years 38 weeks ago||Rees looked decent||
I disagree that Rees didn't look better than Crist. The first interception he threw was not his fault, his receiver wasn't looking for the ball and it hit him right in the helmet. There were times that I didn't think he could miss his receivers, partly because he would throw it up for grabs to Floyd who would bail him out, but mostly because he was worlds better than Crist.

Its just too bad that we wouldn't take all three. It might be a stretch to say that we would take two of the three. Crazy to say that when talking about 5* players, but not a bad problem to have.

|5 years 5 weeks ago||not about rodriguez||
Everybody always says that. "Don't feel bad for Rodriguez, he got paid well and he's doing pretty well now." That is not the point. The point is that it is the program that suffered because of the way the RR was treated while he was here. It was the program that the former players were making look bad when they talked bad about RR. It was the current players that were being hurt by all of it. It is not about RR's feelings being hurt, or him being out of a job, it is about the karma that came around to the jackass fans and former players that thought in some way turning away from UM football for three years was actually helping.
|5 years 6 weeks ago||grew into it||
I am not from Michigan, have never been to Michigan, have never been to a game live, and don't have any ties to the school or the program, but i am fanatical about Michigan Football. People ask me all the time why I like Michigan so much, and all I can explain is that when I started watching college football games on Saturdays (around 9 or 10 years old), Michigan was always on and always doing well. I think I liked the uniforms first, then as I learned more about the players and storylines I really began to love the team. I remember Charles Woodson being the most amazing athlete I had ever seen, the Tom Brady/Drew Henson QB battle, and winning the National Championship (I didn't realize how big that was at the time). I think really, I'm just a fan of college football and it was too hard not to love Michigan when you watched them in the 90's.

I see Junior really flourishing in the new offense. He's big, has good hands, and able to stretch the field. In fact, I think all of the receivers are going to see increased production next year. Remember that SDSU had two of the top 15 receivers in the nation last year. Koger is also going to be a huge beneficiary. My list goes like this:
1) Junior Hemingway
2) Kevin Koger
1) JT Floyd (at FS)
2) Quinton Washington
3) Craig Roh
