|5 days 13 hours ago||No beer||
|5 days 20 hours ago||WD it's simple||
No beer sold at the joe, I'm staying home to watch it on my tv or at a bar. I lost count of how many CCHA championships that I attended, and consumed adult beverages even though I could have stayed home or gone to a bar to watch the game.
Dammit, this hockey! And hockey demands beer at the Joe.
|5 days 20 hours ago||CCHA allowed beer at their event||
The Big Ten is protecting the children by preventing BEER sales. I can stay home and watch the game while,drinking an adult beverage similar to the ones I would drink at the Joe for a CCHA championship game.
|1 week 7 hours ago||He makes Gary bettman||
Look good. And that is nearly impossible all things considered.
|1 week 14 hours ago||CCHA had resonable attendance back in the day||
One major difference between the CCHA and WCHA versus the B1GTEN
There is no beer sales at the Joe for this or any other tourney. both CCHA and WCHA allowed it, if the arena already sold it. BTW, the NCAA has the same restrictions on the sale of ETOH at their evens -- NOT HAPPENING. NCAA hockey regional attendance looks like what i am seeing on TV right now, while drinking a BEER -- EMPTY.

you should have checked with me first. having a first date at a Moo U Meechigan hockey game is bad, just bad. i did the dame thing back in the early 90's. the game was at JLA. its the game with the bench clearing brawl. Steve Shields was a freshman in the nets that game. the starting state goalie had the night off and was on the bench; he was the first off the bench and went straight at shields.
there wasnt a second date...
meechigan vs msu hockey is NOT a date night.

Fully autonomous vehicles will first operate in controlled areas such as parking lots; where your vehicle will park itself. No humans allowed in the parking lot -- only vehicles with the ability to park themselves. This will include the vehicle communicating to the parking structure to go to a designated parking spot, coordination with other vehicles performing the same tasks -- parking and exiting.

|19 weeks 1 day ago||actually, it isnt as far fetched||
as we may assume. Yes, i did go to OU and have many friends down in that neck of the woods still. there are rumblings similar to the rumblings towards the end of Lloyd's run here. They arent saying that he is gone or that he is on the hot seat, but the natives in Norman are getting restless with the appearent lack of title game appearances.
similar to Brodie, I AM NOT SAYING he's coming prepare the way, but it might not be as far fetched as we may believe.
i still think one of the Harbaugh's will more than likely be the next coach, if i were a betting man. BUT I am NOT betting on who will be the next coach; I have learned my lesson from the last two times.
|19 weeks 3 days ago||As the Higgens story goes||
He was in talking to Bo where Bo told him he was getting a fifth year. Higgins mad mention that he had been accepted by Havard Law. Bo withdrew the fifth year and told him to go to Havard and get his degree.
i believe that John U Bacon(bits) has written that story in one of his books on UM history/lore.
|20 weeks 1 day ago||yes they profited by placing les at both schools||
remember, O-State wanted a coach to be a lifer there; it was assumed by everyone down in Oklahoma that Les was just biding his time until Lloyd retired and he would become the next Michigan HC. he was asked point blank by their defacto AD, T. Boone Pickens, O-State's version of DB, if he would commit to stay. Les did not. TBP encouraged him to start looking for a new job, since they had already had the same talk with Gundy who was a former QB at O-State. Gundy isn't leaving O-State unless they fire him. he will retire from that job.
at the time of the move to LSU, everyone, ncluding Les, thought that Les was going to be our next HC adfter Lloyd, and of course, the rest is history.

you have to include the whole chant not just the original part.
|23 weeks 6 days ago||And to further your point||
The AD hasn't listened to our statements and has ignored his own surveys to the season ticket holders since the results don't match his ideas.
|23 weeks 6 days ago||Dear CSG Pres||
The students have already turned in their survey about their experience at a football game; they are not showing up now due to changes brought forth by the AD. In business, people provide feedback by voting with feet and leaving the establishment. Our AD should understand this this, since people provided feedback to him while he was leading Dominos and went to their competitors such as little johns pizza.
If you are a leader, then lead and don't be a tool.

|24 weeks 4 days ago||LSA2k is right||
the process is for show most of the time. it is adhered to in name only. forms are filled in and signed is the closest it comes to being a real process.
from the sounds of things, brady was chosen as the next coach when DBag was hired. DBad just had to follow procedure to make it look good. DBag wanted quite yes men under him and Brade Hoke fills the bill. another thread made note that if DB stays, it would not be surprising that brady is here next year too. Brady has done everything that DB has wanted.
|24 weeks 4 days ago||per state rules||

Engineering (Chem, Petroleum), Medicine and hard sciences (Chem, phys, math).
the biggest problem for OU is that it's in Oklahoma, which holds it back. their ChemE department was put on the map in the late 50's and 60's by graduates of Meechigan. one of my dad's ChemE profs at Umich went to kick start the program in the mid 50's.

There were about three years difference along with the different situations. Add to that different Ad's -- IIRC. Also moeller's run of 8-4 seasons with top pro talent was making the natives a bit restless. Moeller's incident included a very public melt down while red was caught via video camera taking a leak in one of the parking structures elevators. Everyone was happy that the hockey team no longer sucked out loud, and that the rink was packed -- mostly with loud obnoxious students aided by the pep band.

Whether you mean it or not, you represent the entity that hired you. One needs to understand that and react accordingly. Frank didn't in a big way.
|1 year 16 weeks ago||Never did like him||
I agree with Hoke; he should have been fired before the season. Probably cost us a recruit or 5 because the university did nothing.
Don't let the door nob hit hit ya on the way out. You are no Ufer!!!!

|1 year 19 weeks ago||If I wanted to go to an NFL game||
I would make the trek to ford field. I can count on one hand the number of lions game that I have gone to. The timing of the piped in stuff is off also. Yesterday Special K was playing something loud right as we are going into the offensive huddle and continued to play why they are were calling out signals like audibles. The piped in crap should not be a help to our opponent but it was on several plays.
It doesn't help that I never did like AC/DC nor GnR.
There is no wow factor by playing crappy song snippets so loud that you can't talk to the person right next to you. Plus the piped in crap seems to do more for our opponents than it does for us.

for the Steve Miller reference this late at night.
A long time ago, at a university that isn't UM (but recently kick ND butt), i was a member and officer of the student chapter of AISCES or American Indian Science and engineering Society. This was long before the shift to using Native American instead of the inacurrate Indian.
Again, it is late at night, and that was a long time ago...
...and I'm old

Chippewa is what the french called us. it was their interpretation of Ojibwa, which was the name used by other tribes to refer to us. we do have a name that we called ourselves, but i can't spell after 10pm and spell check wont help here. in general, there was no negative conotation to either name. one tale is that Ojibwa means "eaters of cook meat"; we were the first health nuts -- yeah for us!
your supposition of how the tribe in question is represented is correct; CMU, FSU, Il U and several others worked with the corresponding tribes to make sure everyone was on the same page. the UND feascoi'll leave for others to discuss.

He was hired by a buddy at the regional level without getting approval from the head office. It might cost the guy who hired him his own job at the end of the season. Something else CJames has killed.

From bandcroft high err I mean univ of Toledo. I have little use for Toledo, but my accountant is from univ of Toledo and still reminds me of this game on a yearly basis during our annual tax prep mtg. I f'ing hate that year of football, and it set my mind against that coaching staff for its duration. Losing to Toledo was NOT an option that year or any year.
|1 year 35 weeks ago||Bo did say that||
on Michigan Replay usually after they had just reviewed an interception.
|1 year 35 weeks ago||...and it was a Big 10 ref||
that called it a TD, while the PAC 8 ref's were initially going to give the ball to michigan, but the Big Ten putz insisted that it was a TD. That ref NEVER ref'ed a UM game again until after Bo retired. it was to tthe point that he was banned from the statdium.
...still pissed about that one.

OKC has a bullseye on it.
|1 year 42 weeks ago||The problem is||
Especially in OK is that the sky's can be clear then a half how later you are diving for cover. OK is at the "right" place for tornados to occur. Wet moist air brought up from the gulf via the jet steam and heated air off of the plains of western OK. The two mix and out comes tornados and/or severe storms in the metro OKC area.
|1 year 42 weeks ago||For the non sooners in the crowd||
Tinker AB is just north of Moore between Midwest City and Dell City. The last tornado season in OK I was in (mid 80's) the tornados ripped through Dell City, Midwest City and Tinker.
I was watching the storms roll in drinking beer; it's what you do for fun down there.

|1 year 46 weeks ago||Oklahoma has two large cities||
Tulsa and OKC that are producers of D-1 talent along with the talent in military base cities such as Enid. And as already mentioned Dallas and KC are well within driving distance with the St. Louis area not that much farther away. Nebraska is in the middle of nowhere.
Most of the out of state students at OU are from the metro areas of Dallas Fort Worth, Houston, KC and St. Louis. Very few came from the metro Toledo area like me.

|1 year 47 weeks ago||okay, i agree||
the OU fight song is lame. it is a combination of both North Carolina's and Yale's, and out of the three versus, there are only 6 words in total and that is if you count O and U as separate words.
Verse 1. Sooner Boomer
Verse 2. Oklahoma
Verse 3. Go OU
|1 year 47 weeks ago||yes I am||
and yes they are Crimson and cream.
|1 year 47 weeks ago||at least OU is||
Crimson and Cream and not Scarlet and f'ing Grey or just Red and White like three other teams in the Big Ten.
|1 year 47 weeks ago||I was at OU||
when they made a concerted effort to get into the AAU. It was a massive fail, since OU's president at that time thought that all he really had to do was to focus on the small things such as changing the university radio from a college format to a classical format to get admittance into the AAU.
the current OU president is a boat load smarter, but it wiould be a challenge for him to get them in, but if they can, he is the dude to make it happen.

but it isn't safe by any means. In a grade school in one of the Toledo 'burbs, I bet a nun, the school principal, on the game for two years running back in the mid-70's. I could see the 'primised land' from the gradeschool/jr high it was so close to the border. just don't get to comfortable in the metro-toledo.
good luck with the upcoming bundles of joy.

that the hockey pep band brought to a game back in the 90 and very early '00s. during this period, the band provided energy to several tight games. they were so instramental in a few games that they were awarded teh third star of the game (yeah i know, not possible with today's corporate sponsoring). who ever takes over, should bring the energy back to the hockey pep band that has been lacking in the past several years.
|2 years 9 weeks ago||AC's jersey||
was called a tear-away jersey. it was designed to tear away so that you could not tackle guys like AC by grabbing the back of their jerseys, which was the part of AC that most defends saw.
|2 years 9 weeks ago||yup||
players like AC had many jerseys in reserve. the trend started in the old Big 8 and SEC, and if memory serves, AC was the first michigan play to use them -- Bo was old school on teh topic but saw the need w/AC.
tear-aways were banned shortly there after.

|2 years 21 weeks ago||yeah, I remember the cornh..s||
My first inperson introduction to them was during mystudent days at OU, when Barry Switzer was there. Like Meechigan, OU has that instate nuisance, O-State, and an ND, Texas. And then there was Nebraska. I have nothing good to say about them -- period. even to this day, I refer to them by a term that rhymes with their nickname. the note by CounterPunt of Scott Frost's statment didn't surprise me at all; its the way they are.
So there is no love from the Mi Sooner residence for them, but just the utter contempt that i have for them with is close to how I see the twits down south.
Ps. I just got back from a week working down in ohio just outside of C-bus. I still feel dirty.
