You're kidding right? O linemen take 3 years to mature and every starter last year was an RR recruit chosen for a spread offense. They were smaller and quicker than power o linemen and power is what Borges likes to run. Four years is never enough time for an o line coach in this situation.

As someone else mentioned, it was because of his robotic arms. To add to that, that's why Palpatine was so interested in Luke. With only one robotic arm Luke could become more powerful than Anakin.

Long way to go still, but playing OSU in the championship would the most anxious viewing experience of my life.

MSU folk saying Burke wouldn't be capable of half his offensive prowess if it weren't for B10 refs. I guess they didnt watch any preseason games. Then again, they also think Albrecht is our only PG ft next year.

Why I love this site.  I am an uneducated fan and could not put my finger on why Burke seemed to have so much trouble getting the basket.  Now that I see this it's much clearer.  I think a few times Burke still tried to get to the basket, but because the defenders hung back (Udel and Talley in this case) they were able to swarm him more than Burke is usually swarmed, thereby making his layup more of circus attempt.

This is a through the grapevine/rumor mill statement, but I've heard rugby does not have these long term effects because there is not repeated head on collisions. No helmet makes players more cautious of cracking skills

My guess is the face value of tickets may increase. Season ticket holders, we know that the price of each ticket was less than that on the face, but I think that was to augment our PSDs, not 100% in all cases of course, but at least a bit. So I wouldn't e surprised if the stated value on the ticket is higher than last year.

Just said PSU and OSU are the two best teams in the Big Ten. PSU tough to argue against right now, but OSU is incredibly lucky to be undefeated. Does fatigue increase chance of injury?  Yes, I think so.  But that's why you have depth and need to know the limit of each of your players.  And the last person that should have any depth issues is Saban.

I don't think the delay is an issue at all because, unless I'm mistaken, the legal proceedings haven't finished yet.  If for some reason, albeit unlikely, Fitz gets off, he should only be sat the first series or so for allowing himself to get in trouble for a stupid reason in the first place (some might see this as harsh, but I think everyone who brings the football into a harsh light, barring rogue reporters, should be a bit punished).

How so?  It's pretty equitable - tons of points for being an alum and even more for being a former letterman.  Yes, you can buy in, but look at the number of points people have who are getting tickets.  High single digits points is possible with only a couple hundred dollar donation as you get 5 points for being an alum (and if other alums are in your other seats, you get 5 points for each of them too).

No, you can't.  Can be bequeathed to your surviving spouse, but once he/she goes, they're back on the open market.  There would be very few "new" season ticket holders each year if the tickets could stay in the family.

If you find yourself near Petaluma, CA on a nice sunny day, I highly recommend you visit their brewery.  The beer garden is exceptional and beer flights are only $5 for 4 (maybe even 5 - don't drive yourself) 6 oz. samplers.  Foods not bad either.

If the limited supply of tickets was released to the general public, then I would completely agree with you.  However, I have faith that most of our alumni are not buying tickets purely to sell them on the secondary market.  As these are being acquired by season ticket holders, there will be a way to track who has tickets where.  The AD can and does crack down hard on season ticket holders who sell their home game seats at greatly inflated prices on the secondary market - that's why we have this new relationship with stubhub.  I imagine the same would happen here (at least, I hope it does).

How is there secondary market manipulation in a scenario in which the only people eligible to buy tickets are season ticket holders?  There were no ticket brokers involved with these sales.  Not mention Brandon just sold almost 25,000 tickets priced $125 - $285.  Sure, they may become availalbe again if Jerry releases more to Michigan, but don't hold your breath.

I guess I see that.  The whole business just leaves such a bitter taste in my mouth that even social commentary is tough to take.

For those wondering about the popularity of this ticket: while not significant to the whole, we have a group of 20 people going including people who generally refuse to travel.  This was a unique enough event to warrant the cost.  Just putting out there to those weighing the cost/benefit of waiting on stubhub.

I'm not sure that's really the issue here.  The real "available to the public" question is, does Saban and the rest Alabama AD provide job placement services to other students / applicants?  If they don't (which is obviously the case) this is a preferrential financial benefit.

Not to mention the coaching/instructing opportunities.  Parents would be willing to shell out huge dollars to go to a Sidney Crosby hockey camp.  And Crosby seems like an amicable guy (at least off the ice), educated, well-spoken, that such a prospect is easily in his wheelhouse. 

What makes you so sure of that?  If the knowledge of this was actually known throughout the administration, then why would the other Big Ten schools choose to keep PSU around as the issue transcends sports.  Academic and administrative standing are as big a qualifying factor to being in the Big Ten as athletic prestige.

Agreed.  Given the situation the interception was awesome.  But if we needed to turn around and score people would have been very upset.  Cost about 20 yards of field position.

Not trying to take away from his mountain goatness, but could/should have Gallon been called for holding there?  The first block was great but when the safety tried to release it looked like Gallon latched on to drag him to the ground.  I don't know enough about downfield play to know if the rules are different for blocking wide receivers than for play around the LOS.  I know if the safety tackled Gallon that way we'd be screaming for defensive holding.

Sadly, I don't see anyway Odoms gets drafted.  He's a good slot at the college level, but he's not big enough for the next level and will have a hard time blocking LBs on running plays.  Also, he hasn't done anything to prove he's a good return man.  I think he'll be able to get on to a practice squad for a few years, but not much else.  Future WR coach at Michigan sounds real nice though!
