I for one couldn't care less about the perception of the conference. I'll go as far as to say I don't care how the rest of the Big Ten teams perform on a week to week basis.

Nobody says that the perception of the Pac-10 makes USC look bad. That's because they kick ass and dominate their bowl games.

All I want is for Michigan to WIN GAMES. The rest of the conference can fend for themselves.

Same Shit Different State

I feel like I just stepped out of Doc Brown's DeLorean. I grew up in WV and remember when everyone wanted to run the new 3-8 loser coach out of the state. The no-huddle didn't "fit" at WVU...how could we hire this bum...? And so on and so on.

However WVU never had the sense of entitlement that (some) UM alumni/boosters seem to possess until...you guessed it...RR had WVU winning 10+ games a year and winning BCS games. Some people even considered UM a step down(!).

I have to say I'm disappointed that this is still going on during year 2. Les Miles is never coming here and RR given a chance WILL WIN.

These whiny, entitled ex-players should have stuck it out. It seems like they would have had a lot in common with some other (though not all) alumni.

I wouldn't call it necessary, but it's nice to see some support out there.

This guy doesn't get a break in the media and I have a feeling there's a silent majority out there.

Just maybe, it doesn't say the allegations aren't true because they are withholding indictment until an official investigation report (worthy of reporting)is released.

If Michigan were to "win" and go 0-12 rather than "compete" you will soon find them on Brown and Princeton's schedule or worse, in pages of history next to Chicago...

But most articles I've seen show most recruits blown away by Barwis.

I think if you weigh these allegations against current NFL players that come back to work out at Michigan, it's a draw at worst.

We know there is a constituency of people who did not and do not want RR. But these guys (Rosenberg/Snyder) are just reporters, right? There has to be someone with an axe to grind green-lighting this stuff.

I've seen enough people better versed in journalism than I commenting on the lack on integrity apparent in an article such as this. My question is, who is pulling these strings? Editors, advertisers...? Just a thought.

I, for one, treat this board like a party setting. It's fun to talk smack knowing you're doing it to another Michigan fan. It's like arguing with your brother. It's no big deal until someone else tries to pick on him. Then the infighting ceases to matter and you're at each others' defense.

It's part of the accountability of the whole thing. Let's be honest, and correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the cream of the crop when it comes to Michigan boards. If someone comes with something irrational or idiotic they aren't being flamed by some other team's fans; they're being checked by Michigan fans with enough know to post here in the first place. Furthermore, if someone registers/posts without reading or researching this board, they deserve anything and everything they get IMO.

If I were to say something like "Sure Mike Hart was pretty good, but I would have rather seen Underwood get a few more touches first..." I would expect to get slammed by knowledgeable, rational Michigan fans who could give me realistic reasons why I was wrong.

Or if I were to ask, say, "Why did Mike Hart get drafted so late?" and got reasonable, rational, logical responses I would say "Oh, thank you." and go on my way. Others aren't this adept and keep driving uninformed irrational points into the ground until it borders on trolling regardless of their original intentions.

Having said that, I like it just the way it is here. People have been pissed at me and flamed me one day, and agreed with me and joked the next. It's situationally dependent and only for people adjusted enough to accept it. If not, Scout and MLive are always open.

This wasn't the first game of the year, or the second, or even the third; it was the EIGHTH game of the season. Threet had been playing for two months by then. And Magee was right; at that point, inconsistency was (unfortunately) par for the season.

I read a Sam Webb article on Devin Gardner today that had a good quote:

I love the attitude a lot of these recruits seem to have. He also mentions recruiting some other in-state recruits for Michigan (e.g. Gholston).

My devil's advocate platform was built on the fact that Brennen broke like 10 all-time NCAA records that year to counter Tebow's 20-20 year.

As far as homerism goes, I work right beside an OSU grad who was not impressed with Pryor this year (in spite of results). I also have a cousin who lives in Cincy and has heard many Buckeye fans and media personalities express various levels of skepticism. It's not just this board...

At the time of the OP it didn't say anything about crutches or a boot. It was titled something like "Sheridan has serious leg injury" with no other info. It was probably updated by the time you clicked it.
