Now, now, the Python fans should know well that it is entirely possible for your name to be spelled Raymond Luxury-Yacht but pronounced Throatwobbler Mangrove. Actually, it's more common than one might realize, I would imagine. You'll simply be refused a startling amount of interviews, that's all.
|2 hours 31 min ago||Tier 4...||
I am forced to wonder if calling Purdue a Tier 4 team is just a roundabout way to tell Darrell Hazell that you've evaluated his talent and.....well, let's not discuss it, right? I mean, if there was a way to tell someone without telling them, like if my wife just told me I was a Tier 4 Closet Occupant, I would look at the pile of workout shirts on the floor and understand what she meant.
|6 hours 48 min ago||Nice Move...||
See, all it took was for someone to remind them that the current model for financing the airing of these games doesn't work so well when you schedule them at times when no one can watch them. I should say that this is fine for a mid-September Vanderbilt vs. Only Team Worse Than U game because you don't want people to watch that necessarily (and the only sponsor you could get was Uncle Ed's Oil Shoppe), but the CFP semifinals? Yeah, different strategy.
|7 hours 13 min ago||Going There...||
As much as I would like to see an Olympics other than Atlanta (which I visited) in my lifetime, I don't know that I would necessarily go to Rio even if I could afford to do so right now. This one just seems like it has the potential to be less than great for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is the Zika virus.
Congratulations to Dhani though - I have to think that covering any Olympics is an awesome gig on a lot of levels.
|8 hours 49 min ago||I Don't Know...||
Like others, I am intrigued to see play the likes of Marquette, Texas, UCLA and a few others, but again it seems like we run into the problem of following up chances to build tournament resumes with game that don't seem like they would count for much towards that. I would agree with the person that said even changing some of the low RPI teams out with some MAC opponents would probably make a world of difference. I am really only guessing there, but it seems like we undersold ourselves on the OOC schedule.

No complaints about our 55" Samsung really, although we did get the SmartTV and part of me is still trying to fathom some of the capabilities of smart televisions which seem rather un-TV-ish, if you will. I can get most of the major apps that I can on my phone, although some apps make more sense on the phone than on the TV. I guess it is about finding some weird digital balance.

Last year was the first year in a long time that I really stayed with the Pistons- as in, watching most of the game even late in the season - in a long time. I will admit to being modestly excited this year, just to see the upward trend continue.

Ah, but what if you're standing in the part of the yard which, while you might maintain it, is technically in the municipal right-of-way? I've always wondered if this affects the answer to that particular question. It doesn't in my case, but I have always wondered how others may feel about this.
|1 day 5 hours ago||Very Cool...||
It would be fun to see this become a thing around the country. It might be fun to even have a blog version of this - I would think it would be harmless enough and I think enough people here probably feel comfortable enough being on film doing something interesting, especially in light of the whole "Eating a lemon" craze from a couple seasons ago.
I am sure we could think of interesting things to have people punt around.

I just tried it in three different browsers and the thread caused the screen to go a beuatiful shade of MGoBlog blue each time, so we might be SOL on this one unless the paid staff has any ideas - I don't have as much access as you may think I do as a mod. The programming end of it might contain the answer in this case, although I might see if I can open the code in Chrome and at least find the problem on the page, not that I would be able to correct it from there though.

“They’re definitely up there. If they’re not the best they are way up there. Pretty much all the guys I went against last year when they shut us out, I believe most of them are back again. Those guys already knew what they were doing, and another year with very good players and coaches … I’m sure they’ll be even better.”
Part of me wants to say this eminates from Maryland if we're talking 2016 opponents. Is it possible we could do better than a shutout, maybe beat them bad enough that they actually must yield any points scored in their previous game to us? That would be interesting.
|1 day 7 hours ago||Seger And Spotify...||
Seger has said in a couple interviews that the problem stems from an ongoing disagreement between him and Capitol Records on media rights. He never goes into immense detail - he probably can't - but a lot of it has to do with pricing and a few other items, or so I understand. He always encourages people to go out and actually buy the physical album though, being rather an old-school person.
|1 day 11 hours ago||To Be Absolutely Fair...||
To be absolutely fair, I do believe he hit a 48-yard FG against Vanderbilt although I could be misremembering. Quite frankly, I kind of have the same image of his yardage / success distribution as being almost asymptotic to a particular distance rather than a typical curve like you might expect. I remember a lot of 44 and 45-yard attempts too for some reason.
|1 day 11 hours ago||At This Point...||
It just seems to me that, at this point, they are essentially trying to blame the world for something which they did to themselves as a football culture, almost as if they won't deny it per se but they would rather there was some unwritten agreement whereby the abuse was not mentioned. It almost harkens back to the generation of Germans immediately after WWII who had to deal with history books that fast forwarded to Konrad Adenauer after the chapter on the Weimar Republic, or at least there seems to be that air of "let's just not discuss and maybe it will go away on its own..." logic on their side. The problem is that it needs to be discussed so that it doesn't happen again.

My wife and I watched the first four episodes last night - into the night as I didn't get to bed until close to 1:30 AM, which made today a long day at work, but considering how much we enjoyed those episodes, it was worth it. Anything I can enthusiastically lose sleep over like that is worth it. We plan to watch the rest of it this weekend.
|2 days 2 hours ago||Well, To Be Fair...||
Well, to be fair, at 35 years old, his career as an NFL receiver was well on its way to that, but even so, it is a good depth signing for Detroit and more than likely he makes the team. It doesn't make the Lions hugely better, but it makes them better at wide receiver. They can definitely use him - the problem (well, one of them) is that they have to narrow the, oh, 3,000 receivers to maybe six for the regular season roster.
|2 days 2 hours ago||This Thread...||
The OP was correct in that the other thread doesn't offer more than the speculation, whereas now a few outlets are indeed running with the story that he is definitely set to step down in 2020, so we can leave this thread.
There is precedent for doing this on the blog anyway - the "might happen" thread is often followed relatively quickly with the "will be happening" thread and generally we leave both because merging in this interface is hard. Actually, it isn't possible, insofar as I know.

"I have a lot of energy, and I have a lot of interest in what's going on in the college space today from the operational issues, reform issues, and the existential threat," Delany said Tuesday during his annual address at Big Ten media days in Chicago. "So I will be around for a bit. Whether I'm around here for six years is probably a little bit beyond how I see it."
I mean, he'd be 74 in six years so I would be shocked if he hung around that long, particularly in this sort of position. As much as we joke about Delany essentially having the charisma of a cadaver and all the charm of one to boot, being the conference commissioner is probably one of those roles where you've seen some shit, and 27 years is a long time to hold it too.
I wonder who they would get or if they would tap someone already employed in the conference.

I liken it to music sometimes - you hold down a key on an organ or whatnot for an entire bar, you get a pleasant sound sometimes. You hold down the "Save" button on a post on MGoBlog, you get a pleasant posting error sometimes. It merely depends on which key and which post.
Or it could be what happens to me - mindless tapping of active control buttons on the site. Either way, you know? All I know is people ask me to delete them all the time, not realizing I would have to do it one post at a time in this version of the interface, which is why I ignore a great majority of such requests.
|3 days 5 hours ago||He May Be, But...||
He may very well be (really, he is - I am trying to be polite), but he was the second-to-last coach to get Kansas football a 10-win season - 1995, I believe. He's got that anyway, although it isn't much. He's also the man that Minnesota dumped in order to trade up for Tim Brewster, of course, so I suppose there is that too.

|3 days 11 hours ago||Ron Simpkins...||
Didn't Simpkins wear #40 too? I think he played with the Packers for 6 years in the 1980s, but I know he eventually came back to Detroit to coach football at Western International for nearly 20 years as well. He had Michigan's total tackles record until Jarrett Irons broke it in 1996 as well, or so I recall.

"American Gladiators" was admittedly a guilty pleasure of mine growing up. At least here in the Detroit area, it would rerun right after the second airing of that weeks episode of "Star Trek: The Next Generation", so that's usually when I would catch it. That Bob McElwee could do that and still referee NFL games was a tribute to his willingness to occasionally goof on a call on television.

I would guess that the person doing the downvoting either is unamused with the criticism of the apparel or would rather that everyone take this discussion over to the blog's apparel subreddit - you know, the one that doesn't exist nor can in the site's current configuration.
What I have seen of the previewed stuff so far is stuff I would pass on quite frankly, but I'll probably give MDen a look-see at the grand unveiling all the same out of curiosity regarding what we've yet to see.

I think that many of the experts to which you refer have to push that as a possibility because it is still mistifying to them that someone could leave the NFL, and it hard for them to believe that any such departure may be permanent. At least, this is the narrative that they feel compelled to push - not sure if the NFL would fall in love with a story of how it has shallow, vapid people running teams and those people chase talented coaches away. Pretty sure Goodell would be on the phone about that one.
|5 days 13 hours ago||Interesting Question...||
One that I find myself thinking about right away is Kraftwerk - "Trans-Europe Express", "The Man-Machine" and "Computer World" was a pretty solid three-album run if you like old school techno, or really, the music of one of the groups that invented the genre.
How about this one? They Might Be Giants - "Lincoln", Flood" and "Apollo 18" were a pretty good three-album run as well. Still find myself playing those three quite a bit even now. My son even sings "Ana Ng" to himself now.

I also made the mistake of doing a little mulching, and I even waited until about 7:30 PM - still pretty damn hot. The bags of mulch that I let bake in the Jeep for 4 hours? Well, my car smells a little loamy at the moment, so the windows are cracked.
|5 days 23 hours ago||I Will Say...||
Yeah, I realize that polls like this are - in the end - an attempt to make the college football news cycle last all year, but I have to say that this and other positive predictions for Michigan and its players do help me make it through the offseason with a smile about what could be rather than an angsty sort of look. There is at least that.
|6 days 3 hours ago||Basically...||
Basically, but as you will note, only about 15%-20% of Division I (and some beyond) made the cut, so there had to be some sort of early elimination process. Either way, this is going to be a long, long table of hats (should he choose in such a manner) whenever the time comes. If it is evidence of an off-kilter sense of hummor, he already fits in at Michigan.

Very interesting breakdown actually, and kind of in line with the prevailing thinking around here, I think, at least at this point in the offseason. Also, 39 votes and 52 points makes the average raiting for Rutgers - our most important rivalry - at a solid 1.33, meaning the last place vote was possibly nearly unanimous. That's about as good a "sensibility" check as any really.

It always seemed like Green's time at the college level got lost in the discussion, but he was Big Ten Coach Of The Year in 1982 with Northwestern. The other thing you hear from a lot of players who played for him was that he was one of the better motivators out there too, the sort of person which isn't easy to find per se but is so valuable in a sport like football.
RIP Coach Green.

I think for Michigan State fans who are being insufferable, it has to go more along the lines of the historic assessment of their school by the state of Michigan and indeed the historic attitude that the University Of Michigan has had towards that institution:
"There is an accredited land grant institution in Ingham County, you say? I did not realize this."

That is to say, when people get caved, they only get caved in this environment, not on the mobile one.

It was interesting to see both the Howard and Woodson returns interlaced like that, right up to the point where they scored their respective TDs. That goes for the one-handed grab against MSU in 1997 too - a thing of beauty indeed.
|1 week 1 day ago||At Least For Us...||
Ultimately, we have to ask ourselves whether the factors that have caused their declines over the past 15 years are structural.
I would say that a lot of Michigan's problems over that time period were structural and cultural. When you combine a growing complancency like what seemed to exist in the early 2000s with a risk-averse football philosophy and then you abandon it suddenly, then abandon that in favor of a shoddy imitation of what was originally there, you create a cultural clusterfuck inside and outside the department. That's what makes the abilities of Hackett and the imagination and charisma of Harbaugh so amazing to me on many levels, when you look at where we were just before Halloween in 2014 versus right now.

Right. Most universities developed a systemic way within their own administration to protect those accused of sexual assault and to deny victims the chance to speak, even going so far as to shame and psychologically terrorize them for daring to report such crimes. I am sure they like to believe this in Waco.

The ACC's new grant of rights also automatically extends Notre Dame's contract with the conference as a member in all sports but football through 2035-36, a source said. If the Irish forgo football independence in the next 20 years, they are contracted to join the ACC.
I have trouble seeing a scenario in which Notre Dame goes all in on the ACC and joins them in football because quite honestly the South Bend / Mishawaka market doesn't scream footprint, but then again, ND has this national following that, even in 2035 would like to see what remains of Tom Hammond doing games on NBC, or indeed any network.

It's pretty clear that Alabama is going to make a late run here but they definitely have some work to do yet. Colorado is still the comfortable overall leader as of the last update, although by percentage the SEC is in the lead for offenses committed as a conference.
|1 week 3 days ago||They Did....||
As a matter of fact, they did ask him, and it went something like this:
Q: Would you describe Michigan State as a disrespected program?
A: Why is it that no on ever wants to talk about my time with the Lakers? Honestly, it's unbelievable how many people think I know the current state of Michigan State football.
|1 week 4 days ago||Life Force...||
Life Force, man.....where is it?
|1 week 4 days ago||Respect Indeed...||
Although my dad played softball well into his 50s, only quitting when his knees finally became a daily problem, he was in leagues with people who were near or at 70 and still going strong and that was in the early 1990s (my dad is now well into his 70s himself actually). Definitely have to hand it to those guys.
|1 week 4 days ago||You Know...||
I was thinking about that going through the slides, and I will say that it is nice to be able to project nice problems in the future rather than years previous where these questions caused considerable angst even before the season began. Granted, like any team, that might happen again one day in the future, but not now, and hopefully not for a while. It's sort of a mental break from the worry of fandom....on some level.
|1 week 4 days ago||It's Fine...||
I think that, if we did a demographics survey on this blog with that question, we would find exactly what we probably assumed - a fair number of well-paid people blog rather a lot, and talk Michigan quite a bit. That's OK, of course. We all need an outlet - some of us need it several times a day, of course, but that's fine.
|1 week 5 days ago||Also On...||
ABC is airing the "Doc & Darryl" 30 For 30 as well, if anyone wants an alternative. I will actually go with this only because I haven't seen it yet and it sounded pretty interesting to me because childhood memories of the Mets suddenly being good.in the mid 1980s.
Then again, there are some bittersweet memories that come with the Capital One Bowl that year - Lloyd's final game, a great game, uncertainty about the future...still worth the review of those feelings sometimes.
|1 week 5 days ago||Not Too Long...||
Man, seven Saturdays.....summer is flying by.
Actually, it is football season which makes summer doubly important for me as I tend not to see family for many Saturdays between September and January, much to my wife's chagrin
Speaking of that, my wife wants to go to the HTTV release party - she dropped this on me last night at a wedding. So, yeah, some of you might meet Mrs. LSA, who reads some of these threads when I want to point out something unfortunate usually.

I am pretty sure Tyrone Wheatley more than earned some of the premium Glengarry leads in his time at Michigan. Others may have wanted them, some even desperately, but Wheatley definitely earned them. That undoubtedly came with a fair amount of coffee as well, although being that it was college football, I am not sure how Mamet would have made the car mesh with NCAA rules.
|1 week 5 days ago||Late To This Party...||
I am extremely late to this party as I was at a wedding (I was an usher, which is apparently all of 10 minutes of work, so good on me) but I did get a few tweets about this thread, but I am very impressed - this managed to keep itself mostly civil. I only took out a few somewhat divisive replies when I got home a little bit ago.
Just thought I might share that. Carry on.
|1 week 6 days ago||That's It Then...||
Outside of Robert Kraft walking into Player Personnel and telling everyone he has found this hitherto unknown QB in deepest, oh, Appalachia named Dom Grady, all the while with Tom Brady sitting outside in a false mustache and overalls, it was probably a lost cause at this point. I think then we can officially calculate the score as Goodell 1, Reason 0.
|1 week 6 days ago||That Hit...||
I remember Chris Balas did a nice write-up on Daydrion Taylor and where he is at now - back at home in Texas and coaching football - and how the hit altered the careers of both him and Bob Stephenson, who playing days also ended with that hit. Indeed, as I recall, Stephenson fell unconscious onto Taylor in the aftermath - it was a scary moment indeed for both players.
|1 week 6 days ago||Same Here...||
I share the OP's problem - I am off today as I have a wedding in which I have a minor role as an usher, but even though I probably didn't need to get up until later, because of work habits, I was up and roaming a little after 6 AM. I actually tried to lay down on the sofa again and probably snoozed for about 20 minutes - that was all I was able to manage before the coffee was flipped on and the news was put onto the television. Oh yes, MGoBlog too.
|1 week 6 days ago||Good Luck To Him...||
I don't think we had heard anything about where he might end up for a while, but glad to see that he ended up somewhere where he'll probably get a chance. Like others, I was pretty excited when they first got him on campus and it was admittedly disappointing that it just didn't seem to work out.
I wish him nothing but the best.

Houston at Cincinnati: Houston has three Thursday night games after playing the previous Saturday. This may be the toughest of them on the road at Cincinnati.
This might only be a real trap game if you bought tickets on the earnest assumption that you would get to see some defensive stands and three and outs, but I do understand where they are coming from otherwise.
|2 weeks 5 hours ago||About That...||
Yeah, Chad Henne honestly never struck me as the sort described above (at least not in the extreme), although I will be fair to MonocleSmile and say that I have have an inordinate number of less-than-pleasant experiences with people named Chad in my life as well. I am not sure that it is entirely the name so much as those people also happened to be very, well, not friendly. Conincidence, I am sure.
|2 weeks 5 hours ago||Either Way...||
I thought I had read somewhere that this was more or less going to happen before the fight, but I could be wrong. Perhaps the fight was simply an inadvertant coup de grace for his departue from MSU. I could be mistaken, but I seem to remember that MLive or some other outfit ran with that story that it was basically a done deal anyway.
Either way, the timing is kind of amusing.
|2 weeks 6 hours ago||Fun Fact....||
Here's a fun fact regarding #2 - you can rearrange the letters in Spiro Agnew to spell "Grow A Penis", which I firest realized when reading Dave Barry's take on American history over 20 years ago, and that for me made Agnew the most amusing VP ever for name value.
3) Loy Vaught
4) Ricky Powers
8) Morris, Brown (I think Brown was a lefty)
10) Part of me wants to say Darius Morris, but I think all these guys have at least one.
|2 weeks 10 hours ago||Not That Long...||
It shouldn't be that long technically as camp starts on August 8th, which is also when the threads of wild speculation based on the relative trickle of information which flows from the camps will also begin.
That being said, I honestly believe that sometimes - during the doldrums of June and July - that some people look to this site as some manner of football methdone clinic, only to be horribly disappointed by the pop and light snacks being served in some threads.
|2 weeks 10 hours ago||My Own Story...||
Well, had I not been goaded into going to the hospital in December, I might have experienced total heart failure inside a couple weeks, or something else had I allowed the fluid in my lungs to gel and cement. Definitely fortunate there.
I was actually caught in a small building that was mostly obliterated during a torando many years ago, and as it was plowing through, I was pretty sure for a few minutes that, well, that might be that. I was 20 and we were golfing out near Pinckney on a July afternoon when the sky began to darken a little bit - like a lot of storm fronts, it's pretty gradual, or so it seems. From the look of the sky, we thought we could get in at least a few more holes.
As the wall cloud approached, we noticed it was quite low and suddenly it became eerily quiet, which in many cases is a bad, bad sign. We ran for the nearest structure, which was small, partially enclosed cabana, got under a picnic table, and hoped for the best. It turns out the roof of that cabana can be supported by picnic tables, because in the howling, deafening wind (and this was an EF1 tornado, so not so impressive) down it came. Once it had passed, we crawled out from under the table and then along one of the few newly created small corridors made in the confusion.
I am not easily frightened, but I was fucking frightened in those minutes. I was pretty sure that might be it.
|2 weeks 14 hours ago||Good Read...||
“Everybody was complacent with where we were and Coach Harbaugh came in and said, ‘We’re going to do this. We’re going to win this game. We’re going to do that right now,’” Lewis said.
I hate to say that you could tell the complacency had set in by 2014, not to mention that there weren't really many clear expectations if any at all. Correcting these two things alone probably went a long way towards what we say last year - now, everyone looks "hungry" and you can tell they are driven by goals. it's very refreshing indeed.
|2 weeks 21 hours ago||Damnit...||
Oh, fuck....I really wish I had kept these statistics over the years. The Mike Jones and the "Selling Jerseys In Ohio" thread, which happened within about six weeks of each other in 2011, would be in the Top 20 or so. The Great Posbang of 2010 had some highly upvoted individual replies and even broke into a second thread, as I recall. Several of the photoshop threads, as others have mentioned, would be on the list too.
|2 weeks 23 hours ago||Hopefully...||
You know, I have gotten the eve and day of both Christmas and New Year's off for so long it was something of a wake-up call for me when the ratings for the NYE games were low and people were complaining - and rightly so. It really would behoove them, find a way to tweak the bowl schedule to mesh better with holidays and projected viewership, so hopefully they do.
As a sidenote, I was just out of the hospital when the MSU-Alabama game happened, but I was well enough that I had an exchange with a friend who is an MSU alum, someone who, for five glorious minutes, was convinced that they had a shot in that game.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||In A Fight...||
In a fight? Probably Saban. I mean, he does have that "I could be a serial killer" vibe in his interviews generally and his pressers don't show us much evidence that he has a constructive use for people in general. Finebaum merely appears dead, whereas Saban appears as though he could - if he so desired - make death a reality for you.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||My Two Cents...||
Just so we're clear in advance, my entire philosophy towards monitoring such a forum will basically be that as long as the place doesn't start getting into the territory of "OT: Does This Look Infected To You?" or "SIAP: Need Spare Fuel Injector For 1987 Civic", then we're probably OK....unless that's what you want there, in which case, never mind the mod behind the curtain.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Agreed There...||
That's kind of what I was thinking, that it seems like 97.1 is now the only sports radio in Metro Detroit with an audience worth the effort to make this sort of deal, so this would probably work out quite well for Michigan in that regard. Airing the broadcasts I can definitely dig, as others have said, whereas having their on-air talent do games would, well, yeah....let's not theorize.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Also This...||
It also means there are roughly 45 days left during which we could finally see the thread that I know everyone has heralded as the end of things - "OT: Would You Like To Come In And See My Etchings?"
We'll get to football yet, folks. Hang in there.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Probably Should Come Down...||
OT: "tossing these balls" (Pokemon Go)
The story was not a real one, which was the main thing, but I did leave it for a bit so we could get out our befuddlement regarding the newest craze. We're getting old, guys.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||What Is Real...||
What is real, not so much the pile-up story, is that we had someone apparently trying to get inside one of our substations in order to track down and catch a Pokemon - not sure which one. The larger point is that there are a million reasons that I would not recommend taking a walk near a very large energized transformer buss and breaker assembly because you had to catch them all. You may very well catch something alright.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Now, Now...||
As a downriver resident, I can tell you with near certainty that we have several communities - my own included - which consistently rank at the bottom of several Michigan-wide health, wellness, and quality metrics. As soon as the dude down the street who swills Miller while he sits next to his used Bowflex moves, a machine he never uses to the knowledge of the street, we're hoping to change this a little bit.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Similar Story...||
Now that they are 10 and 9, my kids are a little better about parroting what mom and dad say, but when they were younger, not so much.
I remember on time when my son was probably 4 years old, he wanted to do the whole father-son thing and help me fix and refinish a couple chairs for the dining room, which I thought was just awesome. He helped me set them up, he helped me get the tools out and set them down, he helped me lay out a tarp so I wouldn't get finish on the floor....I was loving this.
Then, of course, I get finish on me, and what do I do but exclaim "Motherfucker..." rather loudly. So, for the next couple weeks, when my son would spill something or get something on his clothes, he would say "Motherfutter", which sounds suspiciously like, well, you know.
My wife only recently forgave me for a few embarrassing moments that caused.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Other Information...||
I guess one of the victims, who was at a PSU football camp many years ago, testified that when he confronted Joe Paterno, or was referred to him rather to tell him what had happened, Paterno turned him away, saying that he didn't want to hear it and had a football season to worry about. If that's the case, wow....there are no words to express how far that fucking statue should be buried beneath the Earth.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Very Nice...||
Very nice plan indeed.
If this cannot be achieved for some reason, I propose the alternative of reshaping the statue into a large toilet, free to the use of the public. That way, people can do to Joe Paterno precisely what he did to so many others by saying nothing so that his program could be preserved.

Bottom line: there is such thing as a Rutgers fan. By this estimate there are 600,000 Rutgers fans in New York city alone and around a million of them around the country, mostly in New Jersey.
The article was pretty chuckleworthy, but that part missed a good opportunity to talk about the general problems that occasionally arise with self-reported statistics and potential exaggeration of the number based on the tendency of people to have fun with those doing the survey.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Just This Morning...||
Just this morning, WXYZ here in Detroit went with a story about people already using Pokemon Go in a manner similar to Tinder as well, which is, well, interesting if nothing else. There was also a story yesterday from the St. Louis area about people using the app to target people for robberies as well. A very weird world now indeed.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Very Nice...||

|2 weeks 2 days ago||Wow...||
Moreover, with no CEO and no tech team (although a source indicates investors believe they may be able to coerce the tech team to return), Scout’s future doesn’t look bright, and there’s speculation the company may be snapped up by either Yahoo’s Rivals or CBS’ 247. It looks like we’re set for yet another roller-coaster ride in the world of recruiting sites.
Well, it would definitely be hard to stay in business with neither leadership nor a team to support the product, but yikes, what a clusterfuck.
I was kind of interested in seeing the letter concerning the tech team quite frankly, but the link didn't seem to work on my browser.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Interesting Stuff...||
How many teams can claim the fastest player on their team is a linebacker? The better question is, how many shutdown defensive backs can step in at linebacker and immediately fill a gapping void? The answer to both questions is one.
Like others, I am excited to see Peppers in this scheme - I am hoping that we see a lot of runs cut tragically short by Peppers really. We've probably seen only a glimpse of his football potential, he is just that versatile, and that is one of the major reasons I think the next few years should be fun.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||You're Right...||
You're right, of course, in that these results seem to vary greatly from year to year, but it was very interesting to see Michigan at #2 and then not another Big Ten representative until Maryland at #19 and then Illinois at #22. It would be interesting to see how different that is next year actually.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||I Don't Know...||
Considering that apparently this game has already led to traffic accidents, a few robberies and most recently, people wandering uncomfortably close to energized lines, it seems not entirely unreasonable that assault might eventually end up on the list of things caused by Pokemon Go. Seriously, what a game to cause things like that just because one has to catch them all. I'll probably never see my kids again unless I lock down the Google Play store now.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Leaving Quietly...||
It seems fitting that Tim Duncan should leave the game as quietly as he entered it, and while he had a career that should garner much acclaim (definitely living up to being a No. 1 pick as he was, or so I recall), he always seemed like the type that was never too invested in that so much as he was the team and the game at hand. He might get a bit of a knock from some for being so understated, but yet he still is arguably among the best of the best in the modern era of basketball.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||OK, Scrolling....||
This one made me chuckle -
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Nope...||
I never liked this idea personally - as others have said, it is an exhibition and should be therefore consequence-free when it comes to the course of the season, both regular and postseason.
Actually, I would understand it more if home field were determined by the starting pitchers for each league playing a "Best Of Five" tournament of Canasta.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Agreed...||
I would agree - that is a crazy half-marathon pace, but when I reflect on my own abilities in this regard, it is a totally achievable third-of-a-marathon pace for me if I hoof it - I would probably pull immediately away from the pack (which would have left me far behind) and into the nearest pub. In all seriousness though, it is pretty impressive to me.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||That Would Explain It...||
Well, that would explain why it seemed strange that the dude fitting me for clubs kept asking if I wished to be fitted with a cup as well, even though I told him that I found the idea of wearing a cup for golf a little ludicrous. He seemed undeterred and was just about to get out the tape whem back away.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Trolling...||
I guess if it is me then I think there has to be some sort of intent to cause consternation or grief to fans in addition to wearing the jersey. If you wore a Michigan jersey and wandered the venue with a box of donuts saying that Tracy Claeys forgot them at his office and you were just delivering them, that might be trolling, possibly a bit insulting too.
I have worn Michigan shirts (not jerseys) to places where I ran into flocks of rival Big Ten fans to the tune of no one caring as well as to the tune of "Fuck Michigan", but with zero intent to be troublesome, but then I have also done it just to get people riled up.

Otherwise, spending my birthday quietly with the kids and MGoBlog - we ordered pizza to celebrate after I got home from work (fucking storms, man) and now are watching some movies. Sadly, my wife is working so she can't help us out with the pizza and stuff.

|2 weeks 5 days ago||Interesting...||
It is interesting to see hat Indiana's experiments with alternate helmets cost them so much in this otherwise weird poll (as we aren't #1 - that's why), but then again, when I see your team run onto the field and start singing "The Candyman Can" from "Willie Wonka", that helmet probably should cost you some serious style points.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||City-Wide Sales...||
A lot of communities around me (as well as mine) have city-wide garage sales on various weekends throughout May, June and July where they waive the permit fee and let anyone living within the city limits have a sale. That's typically when we do it if indeed we have a sale, and a few years ago, thanks mainly to a lot clothes and furniture, we made close to $700 over the course of three days.
Coolest Michigan-related item? Some guy in Woodhaven years ago was selling some old programs, mainyl from the 1980s and 1990s, and I bought those. Not worth too much by themselves, but a nice conversation piece all the same and several for games I had been to as a kid and later a student.

Funny that you say this - those of you who have not been to any of the MGoMeetups will have your chance to get an answer to this question on August 5th per Seth on the front pages, as I recall. MGoBlog in real life is.....interesting. Yes, interesting is a good word for it.

"One Foot In The Gave"
|2 weeks 6 days ago||This Game...||
If you can have a positive takeaway from this game at all (and that's pretty difficult), it is that this was another example in an early stage of Harbaugh's tenure here of how he has drilled into this team finding ways to win even if many aspects of the game play itself are, well, not looking so hot (put mildly, in the case of this game). Like Minnesota to a certain extent, they did not give up and could get it done when it mattered the most. That alone is a major improvement from 2014 and will continue to buy them the odd win in the future. That I will take. Still, this game would be a tough watch again.
|2 weeks 6 days ago||I Would Agree...||
I would agree on that one point - of the four, I guess I am least sad about Arkansas being cut out although I really wanted to see an SEC team in Michigan Stadium, even if it is a middling one by comparison and even if their coach can consume an entire pot roast with only a toothpick and will power.
I would have been more disappointed if they had dropped Texas, Oklahoma or UCLA, although I have been there to see them play UCLA - that was about 20 years ago though. Actually, I think that might have been my freshman year if it was 1996 as I believe.
|2 weeks 6 days ago||I Have A Reason...||
Well, this time around, I sort of have a reason to posbang - tomorrow happens to be my birthday. Although I don't really celebrate them formally any more because at this point they tend to remind me that I am definitely not as young as I once was, it is fun to get little gifts from the family all the same. This coming Wednesday, my daughter turns ten as well, so we've got yet another celebration to look forward to - except this one, well, she expects something substantial this time. It's an achievement to get to double digits, right?
|2 weeks 6 days ago||My EUTM...||
First and foremost, good luck to your duaghter, OP - hopefully, she emerges victorious today.
As for myself, two of the things that would be on my own EUTM list are probably good cuisine and good beer. I do virtually all of the cooking at home and I share my father's passion for good food, making nice meals with fresh ingredients even in a day and age where I could do simpler things for convenience.
EUTM for good beer, which I can finally drink again in a limited capacity, is something I've been cultivating since before I could legally drink, and again, I have my father to thank for never allowing Bud or Miller of any variety in the house. Yes, beer snob, rabble rabble....
|2 weeks 6 days ago||According To My Wife...||
While I don't have any myself, I will say that my wife (who has several) has had nothing except excellent work done at Eternal Tattoos in Livonia. The place has been in business for about 35 years and has five branch locations, but they do some excellent work and she has nothing but good things to say about them.
|3 weeks 1 hour ago||To Be Fair...||
I don't interpret that as pessimism from people so much as that the beginning of the signing period is more or less the "safe" marker for the time when these things become definite - that, and some people just don't follow recruiting as intently as others, which I get, as well as the learned cynicism, which I admittedly share. I won't blame people for not holding their breath necessarily on verbal commitments in the recruiting world, especially ones made far in advance.
That being said, it is nice to see Michigan's inroads via camps into the southern US starting to drum up serious interest.
|3 weeks 3 hours ago||Interesting...||
I like to think Jim coaches like Kubrick directs, in that nothing is done without intention.
I actually like how you put that. It's probably pretty close to the truth as comparisons go as well. It also has me now wondering what Harbaugh's version of "Barry Lyndon" would look like. There's a fun thought experiment. Would he have even chosen Thackery's novel?
|3 weeks 4 hours ago||Holy Crap...||
You know, I never really thought about that before, but holy crap...
|3 weeks 5 hours ago||Very Nice...||
I think he did that with Henry V, the battle cry. "Who stands with me this day will stand forever"—something like that. He told me that was the day that he felt like he really got them.
Oh, nice. Harbaugh and Shakespeare. I feel like we need the audio for this or a similar speech if he does this at Michigan. He's already got them, I would think, so now it is just a matter of choosing the appropriate play and quotation.
|3 weeks 9 hours ago||Not My Preference...||
I am fine with this rivalry resuming (it was probably inevitable that it would given the internal support as well as support from alums and donors), but if these had been the other way around and we had 2018 at home with 2019 on the road, that seems like it would have been much nicer, because then we only have Nebraska, Penn State and Maryland at home so far that year and....that's pretty "meh" as conference home schedules go. A high-profile OOC game at home would make up for some of that.
Without Arkansas, we still have two spots in the OOC schedule to fill as well, I think, if Notre Dame is taking that spot.
|3 weeks 10 hours ago||Thanks For Sharing This...||
But it was during his last two years of high school that Godfrey distinguished himself in tennis. In 1976, he defeated John McEnroe, the future No.1 in the world, in the U.S. national 18-and-under hardcourt tournament. The following year, Godfrey advanced all the way to the finals in the national 18-and-under Easter Bowl.
Now THERE'S something you can tell people, even if it was before McEnroe was a household name. I wonder if he was just as amusingly fiery even then.
Great read though. Thanks for sharing this.

|3 weeks 14 hours ago||Interesting Development...||
Like some, I was always kind of indifferent to seeing the Michigan-ND game come up again - I was in this camp where if we could fit them in, then fine, but if not, it's not something really worth a lot of time then. I honestly was not expecting this to happen so soon, although every indication is that this game would someday be on again, frequency to be determined.
I am kind of disappointed that restarting it so soon means the cancellation of the Arkansas home-and-home as I was looking forward to that actually, but that we can take a $2 million hit so casually does - as some have pointed out - make me wonder why a certain AD who left in 2014 would habitually nickel and dime the department.
|3 weeks 23 hours ago||That's Fine...||
That's all fine, of course, as long as you're prepared to watch the game on this TV:
|3 weeks 1 day ago||Looks About Right...||
The day we see a report about Nick Saban practicing and running drill shirtless along with the players and smearing blood on a player's face and the moment we hear about how he, as the story says about Harbaugh, had no chill as a kid, let me know. Until then, this poll looks just as it should, I would say.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||In Other Words...||
This would essentially be the argument in favor of the "naked guy" banner that others have described above, but also for the reason that there is something about that particular submission which captured the site's modus vivendi rather well and in an amusing way.
Or we could skip that, of course. In all seriousness, a new Harbaugh-themed banner would not be a bad move at all, and the current one is pretty good, I do agree.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||Put That Way...||
You know, put that way, it sounds rather unpleasant, as in surgery followed by a pretty awkward recovery unpleasant, but point taken all the same. I am sure a little good news will help ease the tensions of the ongoing OT Season in the board, or at least I hope so - definitely would not have signed up for the mod gig if I knew some of these threads would exist.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||To Clarify....||
To clarify, the problems start when someone decides to be dickish, proselytizing, smug, intolerant (some have been all of those in the same sentence) or any one of a number of things which would stifle open discussion, and so far that hasn't happened here. With these sorts of threads, in about 9 out of 10 cases, it isn't the message or the OP, it is the people responding and their own attitudes that cause the problems and lead to a lot of these threads eventually ending poorly.
Yeah, people are going to say "no religion", but in my own interpretation - and Brian or Seth can correct me at any time - is that mere greetings such as what the OP posted are typically fine and inoffensive save to the few who can't handle even that - otherwise, virtually all of the Christmas, Easter, Passover and other threads would be taken down as well, rather than the select few which were invaded by problematic posters. Overt preaching would likely be an auto-ban, but that's definitely not what is going on here.

The word on the street is that once Phil Steele finally gets a quote he likes from the folks at Xoom for hosting the site, he'll migrate it and revamp it and then it should really look like he wants finally. They have to move to HTML 3.2 first so Netscape users can properly view the site though.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||Cool Story Indeed...||
Those of us who live minutes away sometimes forget what a real treat it can be to visit a city like Ann Arbor and a campus like the University Of Michigan, especially for those among us like me who both grew up nearby and went to school there. I admit that the things that I get to see every week and did even before I was a student can really light up eyes and fill people with wonder even if they are sometimes old hat to you some levels.
This is a cool story indeed, and I also probably could spend an entire day inside Schembechler Hall - even if you're local like me, Michigan's history never, ever will get old to you even if the scenery on the block might sometimes.

Even though the lines from any source at this point are mere discussion points for a football-starved world, you still have to feel pretty confident that - working on all cylinders - this football team could beat just about anyone you put in front of it. Granted, that's just a feeling, but even if you didn't show me the extremely preliminary lines, I would like our chances in just about any game this year, even "Stripe The Birthplace".
|3 weeks 1 day ago||Kindle Reading...||
Actually managed to get a copy of "The Matheny Manifesto" by Mike Matheny and it's actually a pretty interesting read, mainly geared at parents looking to get kids involved in a sport like baseball, but he injects his own experience as a player and coach and now MLB manager into it as well. A bit like Harbaugh, there's a heavy emphasis on character and trying to instill and develop that as well.
I would like to read "Billy Martin: Baseball's Flawed Genius" before the summer is out as well.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||For Convenience...||
For convenience, because it is only a 40-minute drive from Romulus, we find ourselves at Fifth Third in Toledo a few times a year and it is how I have managed to get the kids at least somewhat into baseball because they like that atmosphere moreso than Comerica. It is a nice place for an inexpensive family outing.
I've also caught minor league games in Akron, Columbus, South Bend, Louisville, Indianapolis and a few other places.

According to the report, “The driver tried about three times to open the driver’s door which was the side that was underwater. I had to keep reminding the driver to climb out of the passenger side because his door was in the water.”
Very frightening indeed. Glad to see that he and the passenger were alright by all accounts, but a very odd situation. Hopefully, all is well all around.

I mean, what kind of light are you supposed to paint a man who enabled a child molester for about four decades in? It doesn't sound like one of those things where you get a statue to honor that man's achievements, at least not to me, but I forget this is Penn State and that fanbase seems to have fans and alums which see such enabling as something worth commemeration and enshrinement.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||NSFW UFRs...||
I would not mind some NSFW UFRs myself that involved some very good defense, come to think of it. From the little that has come out of the Fort regarding Brown and how he has been getting everyone on board, I can say that it sounds like watching opponents get first downs might be amusing, let alone watching them attempt to score.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||I Remember...||
As a sidenote, I remember seeing Messner a few times when he was not on the field as we used to get music and supplies from Hammell Music in Livonia back in the day and I believe Del Pretty was a partner there. I know the Livonia store is long gone - not sure if they ever picked it back up elsewhere or not quite honestly. It was a nice outfit though.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Exactly This...||
I would say "Exactly this" as it is this shirt which I ordered with my signed copy of HTTV, but it isn't here yet so I cannot celebrate this news appropriately. I feel a bit shafted by that, quite honestly.
Still, it will be fascinating to see what comes from Juno, whose camera - I believe - will be switched on later today, or so I understood from Good Morning, America.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Although...||
We joke about it, of course, but there is nothing that says AIRBHG does not have his own version of Dashavatara and that one of his forms pays an occasional visit to a school such as Georgia. Why that might be so is lost to football history, of course, but what is known is that someone in Athens, GA will claim that Mark Richt has lost control of borrowed aspects of major world faiths.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||About That...||
The tragedy at the time was that the MLB itself did not publish its own record book, so it wasn't until they did in fact get control of that some time after 1961 that the distinction was erased and Maris was listed as the recordholder. I believe there's a story out there that Frick was a personal friend of Ruth and invented the distinction (which was unofficial) on behalf of his late friend.

You know, I think I remember that thread and I would have to agree, at least among athletes who crossed paths with the University Of Michigan - Jamal Crawford's NBA career is something I didn't imagine, and it has been awesome to watch it happen for all these years now. He's been the Sixth Man Of The Year a few times, as I recall, among other honors, and while it would have been fun to watch him stay for more than a cup of coffee in Ann Arbor, he has definitely done well for himself.

The most interesting violation stemmed from a trophy being "temporarily placed in an area where prospects taking an official visit would be."
"Hey, where did you leave those crystal footballs?"
"I put them on the 50-yard line of Bryant-Denny just like you.....errrr.....you know, that's a really good question. I will retrace my steps. I am sure they'll turn up."

You know, I see that quote from Barnum and then I see Finebaum's head and then I start thinking, "Perhaps Paul is merely misunderstanding his destiny here. Perhaps Paul IS the sucker and all it will take is for an Alabama to come along and begin to lick his head on the air." There would be no more show after that unless the SEC Network has an After Hours channel that shows more than Vanderbilt football.

I might as well have done this, because a shocking few among the parents at my daughter's school seem to be able to get the name straight. I find that I have this conversation maybe 2-3 times a month with someone at a meeting:
"What's your daughter's name?"
"What ethnicity is that?"
"Fine, whatever you want to believe."

How does a guy who is 3-30 vs. FBS teams keep his job? Money talks, apparently. According to the Indianapolis Star, Purdue saves $2.1 million if it waits until Dec. 1, 2016 to fire Hazel, who is 2-22 in the Big Ten. So check back for Hazell’s status on Dec. 2.
Well, I mean, Purdue put an ad in the West Lafayette paper and got two replies, one from a guy who died the day before the interview, so you take what you can get, I guess.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||I Would Agree...||
As ugly as this game got on a lot of levels, it was a successful test of the culture that Harbaugh has been creating in Michigan football and a successful test of a very important trait he is teaching in particular- there is zero quit in this team. That alone made it a nice victory overall.

We are up along Long Lake near Harrison, MI in rather scenic northern Clare County. We were actually about to run into town to get some grilling supplies as the campground at least supplies the grill. We also have a brisket going, so we plan on eating well and, because I am now cleared to do so, I plan on a few beers.

Reading that, you don't really hear a lot of kids talk about how they look for both stability and the right fit, but whatever you may think about the current coaching situation, stability is a selling point for us. If we can find recruits - hopefully such as this kid - who also feel at home, if you will, that is even better.

I was admittedly one of those people that initially rolled my eyes at this deal, mostly because I was upset with the state of things at the time of that trade. However, having watched every Fulmer start now, I have changed my mind - liking what this guy brings to the team.

My in-laws are supposed to check in on what remains of my Cats tomorrow. We are up north at the moment, Romulus stupidly did not enact a fireworks ban due to the dry conditions, and they will undoubtedly be a bit freaked out. They will consequently be furious with us on Sunday when we get back.

I don't know why, in the countless times that I have seen the episode, that STTNG's "The Offspring" gets me to sob, but when that dude comes out and says Data's child android will not last very long, I start the waterworks.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Liking That...||
I will take that definitely. You have to like what this team could potentially be in a few years and Drummond is part of a nice core of players.
I am in a Walmart parking lot in Lansing checking the blog. There is a cautionary tale in there somewhere.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Interesting...||
The rumors last night were that Helm might be on his way out, which would have suited me honestly as he kind of embodies what the Red Wings seem to be lately - just north of average and spent by the time the postseason gets here. Hopefully, this is not the only thing we do today because that move doesn't exactly fill needs, in my own opinion.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Now I Wonder...||
Now, I wonder what happens if the dude responsible for turning it on gets caught in traffic, especially on a day where a fair number of people will be anticipating making purchases of gear or something. I envision that he gets to work late, turns it on, and the surge in traffic causes the building to become engulfed in flames. The result will be chaos - worse, cash-only chaos since the card and chip readers will be down too.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||As For Myself...||
I won't be starting the process of cooking until I actually get up north, but I do have a brisket marinating right now in a citrus-based marinade with cilantro and a couple other herbs in it. This is something I haven't run with yet, so I am hoping it turns out well. Fortunately, the cabin we're going to has a smoker so I can do this - I seem to get stuck with all the cooking whenever we make these trips.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Good Article...||
"Just the atmosphere," Taylor said of his decision to pick Michigan. "They've got the best fans. There's just a certain feeling you get when you go. It's a feeling I got from Michigan that I fit very well for the offense and I've got a good relationship with the coaches and Coach Harbaugh. I love it up there."
Well, contrary to the expectations of certain SEC coaches, it definitely has not been all that cold up here recently so we've go that going for us too.
In all seriousness, Taylor sounds like he's got a great attitude and a great work ethic - generally, a great fit for the culture that Harbaugh is creating here in Ann Arbor.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Fair Enough...||
Even when I was in college, I couldn't fathom being content with light beer or Budweiser, Miller, PBR, etc...any of those mass-produced beers. I actually would save up from my series of jobs that I held just so I could get my dad (and when I turned 21, myself) to buy better beer. Admittedly, I am a bit snobbish about beer, but for me it is about the experience and enjoyment. To that end, a six-pack of Witkerke and a six-pack of Fanziskaner Weissbier are sitting in the car right now, ready to go up there.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Up North...||
We're headed up north in a few hours to spend a couple days at a friend's cabin up near Harrison, so while there is wi-fi, modding might be sporadic. It should be fun despite the burn bans up there, so I told the kids we will bury a flashlight and sit around the "fire", but hopefully we'll get some serious grilling done as well. As I can now drink again, even though they would rather I not get plastered, I can actually enjoy a beer with my burger for the first time in six months, so there is that.

Admittedly, it's a struggle for me to not first think of the English explorer whose lead coffin is still the object of diving expeditions off the coast of Panama, although I am well-aware of the other Drake as well. The sad thing is that I feel at 38 that I should be more hip than this and I am sadly not, says the man with more cats than kids in his house.
|4 weeks 5 hours ago||Look At It Like This...||
I think you need to look at it this way - one theory estimates that by the 2050s or thereabouts, the Lake Erie basin, which includes southeastern Michigan, will possibly have a climate profile similar to, say, the St. Louis area, so it is entirely possible that - if that holds - the SEC might finally start playing up here en masse in the OOC schedule. If that were to hold, just think - it only took a regional climate shift for those chickenshits to do it too.

I have so many questions of the athletic director regardless normally because I spend an inordinate amount of time worrying about what goes on in this particular arm of the university, but if I had to ask one, I would like to know if the university would please respond to my e-mails about validating parking when I am forced to buy a spot on someone's lawn because apparently the residents at those house won't do it for some reason.
I try to do the things that make "Letters From A Nut" proud.
|4 weeks 9 hours ago||About Ours...||
I guess that, in my mind, beating one of the two rivals is a "development marker", if you will, for this team and what Harbaugh is building in Ann Arbor. Michigan State is probably the easier one by a mile this year among the two, but yet in my mind beating either would suffice. Beating both would be an unexpected bonus just by my own expectations this season. I will say, however, that losing to MSU and beating OSU would probably make me forget that we lost to MSU, if that scenario happened, and forgetting MSU is as it should be anyway really.
|4 weeks 10 hours ago||Oh Good Grief...||
"The people we’re competing with – Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame – this is just not something they have to deal with. Although we want to move on, those other schools are not letting us move on."
Especially because Penn State has a frightening inability to learn the lesson and move on themselves, there's no reason to let them. They seem as if they will never learn, and for their inaction and then their attempt to portray themselves as the victim by others and now Franklin, they should be forever reminded of what their athletics culture enabled. So that such a human disaster is hopefully mitigated in the future, they should be reminded of it.
Move on? No, I don't think so. Not after they allowed that to happen.
|4 weeks 12 hours ago||Interesting Question...||
Around me anyway, the leagues are still there and they are still going strong, but as others have said, the cost now if you're serious about it is pretty high and I think pursuing it to that level - travel laegues or organized school teams and so forth - tends to make little league almost like a gateway 100-level course in some places. When I played, most schools still didn't charge for participation and rates weren't that bad, so those leagues were a little more visible, I think. It seems like there is a drop in casual play of baseball - we did that a lot as kids, whereas now I don't see neighborhood baseball games just happen.
|4 weeks 23 hours ago||The Omelets....||
Do they only have 12 eggs? It always feels like more honestly. The field of potatoes that constitutes a serving of hash browns (in my experiences there anyway) might contribute to that feeling though. It's a good place to go if you want to eat enough in one meal to carry you through the day though, so if that's among the reasons that Phelps is on the walls there, then good move.

I couldn't fathom 105.1, nor could I really listen to 97.1 without shaking my head at the state of sports talk radio in Detroit. WTKA is my AM go-to, but then there is a chasm there to fill after mid-morning.
I'll probably just crank up the music after Insider - no harm in subjecting the people in the cubicles near me to a little more INXS.
