A lot of people do care. Why do you think there is so much interest in the Director's Cup? We hang our hat on being the best combination of academics and athletics and Stanford is the only school that can claim superiority. We crush them in football and men's basketball and that is good enough for me. |

This makes total sense. I was thinking the only reason for GRIII to come back was to develop at the 3 which is where he'll play in the NBA. MM is more a 4 as well. |
| 6 weeks 2 hours ago | F-you, c-sucker. The only |
F-you, c-sucker. The only point I will concede is that L took full advantage of their fortuitous officiating. Don't fucking point out the foul differential. Louisville just keeps fouling and knows the refs won't take their players out of the game in the end. Someone convince me Mitch's fourth foul and UL's 11 not getting his fourth didn't profoundly affect the game. |
| 6 weeks 14 hours ago | Coach is the perfect |
Coach is the perfect embodiment of the Michigan Man. He is the master of his craft yet humble to a fault. He is truly a genuine, caring mentor for all his players. I get now why he's not in on the recruitment of many one-and-done types. He wants kids that want to be at Michigan as opposed to those that are just looking for a pit stop. He expects them to be student-athletes by demanding they go to class and study on top of their busy basketball schedule.
We are truly lucky to have this man leading our basketball program. |

| 6 weeks 6 days ago | I can't believe people are |
I can't believe people are criticizing this guy for taking a million dollar raise. He took this program probably as far as it can go. They won't be able to compete with UF, FSU, and Miami in the long run. They don't have the resources and alumni/booster base to do so. This hire makes total sense for USC/Haden. Haden is a cerebral guy so it figures he'd be enamored with a Hopkins man. Also, Enfield has shown the ability to take a fledgling, moribund program and turn it into a winner in a short time. Time will tell whether or not he can do it against the big boys. |

And who was benefitting from Trey getting in the lane when we were losing during the season? Burke has been great but I think MM has been the catalyst of our tournament run. |

Call me a cynic, but it's easy to make this move when the football team's at the top of the mountain and their recruiting machine is bringing in top recruits on an annual basis. Also, was this Nick's doing or the University's? UA couldn't take the PR hit that would've accompanied keeping these guys on, especially if they only kept the guys most likely to contribute on the playing field. They don't want to actually confirm to the world that they have a win-at-all-costs mentality. |

| 13 weeks 1 day ago | I suppose he has a reason to |
I suppose he has a reason to be salty. He built/is Duke basketball. Maryland, by leaving th ACC, has really opened up the possibility of UVA, GT, and UNC leaving as well. That would kill the academic cache of the conference. Duke's fortune is tied to UNC. They will fade (even the basketball) into irrelevance if they're separated. |

Good news! You don't have to hope. This game was an anomaly. All the stars just happened to align. I wouldn't be surprised if we were small favorites in the rematch. |

Not sure why you would take solace in this. Coach Wilcher is a Michigan Man and he's doing a great job with the CT program. He deserves a lot of credit for churning out more and more players that are garnering national attention. It will only benefit Michigan if these guys start to meet or exceed expectations. |

| 14 weeks 12 hours ago | I'm not sweating this loss. |
I'm not sweating this loss. It will just make us tougher come March. Tournament games will be officiated more evenly. Anyway, why was Mitch in the paint and not defending the inbounder? At bare minimum, he should've been helping on one of their best shooters. As I haven't been able to watch the games, I want to know how Craft fouled out against IU and had no problems against us, even in AA. Was it the officiating or was it something schematic IU did. Surely Burke has to be more difficult to defend than any IU guard. |

I think we will feast on some home cooking and win by double digits. We'll see how good the Ohio defense is when they start getting called for blocking instead of getting charging calls. Also, if Craft gets called for some early fouls for his aggressive hand checking, this game won't ever be in doubt. |

| 17 weeks 5 days ago | I believe Nike gets Tiger's |
I believe Nike gets Tiger's forged muscleback irons from Miura. Endo forging is probably considered the best and I wouldn't be surprised if Nike gets Rory's irons from them. This is why the notion that "Nike clubs suck" doesn't hold water here. Most of the top blade irons are coming from these Japanes foundries. There's only so much technology that can go into exactly where to distribute a limited amount of mass on the back of an iron. The most important factors are shaft and grind. I'm sure he will keep the same shafts and sole grinds. |

That's more than you can say about the bevy of "smart" students you get every year that get lost and flame out. |

I agree 100% with your last sentence. Both UC's will never be great in football and that's what really matters. Both UC's combined may never approach the academic prestige and wealth/influence of the alumni base of UVA. I think these are the traits the BIG is looking for. |

How was my post starting a "BURN THEM ALL" chant? You completely miss my point. You're obviously so vested in ND Athletics that you'll eat up the company spin and ignore some troubling aspects of this case. Two things that stood out to me: 1) Four young college students are hanging out and Lizzy was the only one consuming alcohol. 2) An attractive young coed is sexually aggressive and giving a testosterone-filled young man a lap dance and he just decides he doesn't want any of it. I've read that these are statements the player in question made to the police. I don't know about you, but they don't pass the smell test to me.

| 24 weeks 5 days ago | I don't agree that the ACC |
I don't agree that the ACC would rather have Louisville than Maryland. This was just a move made out of desperation/necessity. Louisville offers nothing outside of football and basketball. Maryland is a national power in several non-revenue sports. I think Louisville's success in football and basketball are tenuous at best. They lucked out with both Petrino and Strong. Strong is gone when the next high-profile job opens up. Then, most likely another long stretch of mediocrity. Basketball will probably always be second fiddle to UK. Fortunately, it looks like Petino stays for a while and they'll have continued success, but then? Maryland has a much greater educated, monied population base. Read: larger, more influential fan base. |
| 25 weeks 14 hours ago | It's got to be tough |
It's got to be tough preparing one, let alone three, qb's in the short amount of prep time. I think it's really hard to blame Borges for not having the 3rd string qb ready to play. Having said that, I'll concede that he should've been more prepared for the possibility that a backup qb would need to play. I'm not certain, but wasn't Denard's elbow injured before the Nebraska game? Also, he should've recognized that Devin was/is a better qb than Russell. Now that I think about it, I guess it is all Borges' fault! |

| 34 weeks 5 days ago | I'm assuming you're referring |
I'm assuming you're referring to football players. I have no idea if all scholarship athletes receive the same benefits. I can't believe you'd begrudge the athletes anything they receive. If anything, football players are woefully under-compensated. Just think of their benefits as compensation for a job they're performing for the university. A job that has skill requirements that few in the student body possess. As a former student I appreciated all the football players did for the school. They gave the school a great team for which to cheer. They also subsidized part of our own education costs. Having the Athletic Department being financially independent and profitable allowed the University to not pass some of the costs to the students. As for having to stress out about interviews, applications, and resume, that's all on you. If you're smart and motivated, opportunity will be there. |

I hate to say it, but I think we lose to ND. We haven't been able to stop the run all year and ND looks good with their two-headed rushing attack. I initially thought we'd have Funchess all day given how open the MSU tight end was but I realized they won't be selling out to stop the run against us. I think MSU is a coin flip. They will run the ball all day and control the clock. Maybe we will be able to stop the run by then, maybe not. |
