Date Title Body
4 hours 41 min ago Eh

I don't know. I think with all the (highly rated and potentially outstanding) tackles we have on the roster, playing LT vs. RT won't matter as much. In the pros guys regularly switch (lots of pro linemen were the best lineman on their college team, and as such played LT) between the two, so I think even if he does move it won't be that big a deal.

5 hours 40 min ago Not sure

All I got was what I posted above, it's a save the date. As more info comes I'll post it. Typically the AAUM-Chicago hosts events that are open, but more expensive for non AAUM members.

2 days 7 hours ago Auto Industry

I work in the Auto Industry and EVERYONE is looking to hire. All the big 3 and lots of suppliers too. While new sales aren't quite back to their pre-recession peak, the US is set to manufacture the most cars domestically since 2002. Engineers I talk to at all 3 of the big 3 have told me directly that their groups are looking for more engineers.

Indeed.com has thousands of engineering listings, that's a great job site to use. Good luck.

The 2 best father's day presents I've gotten my dad are this book:

http://www.valorebooks.com/textbooks/webers-big-book-of-grilling/9780811831970#default=buyhttp://www.valorebooks.com/affiliate/url/siteID=x0f6M7?url=http://www.valorebooks.com/textbooks/webers-big-book-of-grilling/9780811831970%23default=buy&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=Froogle&utm_source=Froogle&date=06/12/13

Weber's Big Book of Grilling Never had a bad meal/dessert/anything from it. Chocolate Cake on the grill! great for anything from basic burgers to full on crazy grilling.

Gift #2 was my Sophomore year in high school when I took wood shop. I took my dad's bat from when he played high school baseball (an Al Kaline bat) in to the shop and used it as a template to turn him his own bat. Wood-burned his signature into it and everything. He loves that, and it was fun to make as well.

1 week 1 day ago Same here

Just finished the first Bioshock a bit ago. Was crazy (Subs!) just downloaded Fable 3 for free, but I think that may take way too long to play through.

I think the only games I've paid full price* for recently are the NCAA Football ones and Halo 4.

* b/c I usually get a preorder deal of $5-20 off, or include DLC.

1 week 1 day ago I read the whole thread just to see Chicago Stadium

It was torn down when I was 6, but I remember going to a few Bulls games there and 1 Blackhawks game. During the Anthem at the Hawks' game I remember they put a camera shot of the outside of the building on the jumbotron. We had seats in the upper deck and I thought the building was going to collapse. It shook. it shook on the Jumbotron. The jumbotron itself was shaking. I love the United Center, and Corneilson does an amazing job with the Anthem, but having that memory as a 5-6 year old of Messmer belting out the anthem in the Stadium is something I'm proud to have witnessed.

2 weeks 2 days ago As long as it's got a cop

As long as it's got a cop motor, cop shocks, etc. just make sure the lighter works

2 weeks 2 days ago Again, interesting points

But I totally disagree with Consumer Reports handling of their auto recommendations. I have to stop myself because I guess it does work for most people. But to me a car isn't an appliance. Consumer Reports reviews your car just how they would review your toaster. If a car is an appliance to you (get from point A to point B as simply as possible) then it might work for you. And, I guess that does work for a lot of people. But for me, I find their auto reviews awful. Like I said above, C&D is the place to go for auto advice.

2 weeks 2 days ago Interesting ideas

First, I'll agree that the lines are quite blurred between "Foreign" and "Domestic" at this point. Again, I work for a worldwide auto supplier so I see lots of it firsthand.

That said, when it comes to quality, all I will say is do your research and drive multiple vehicles. Most preconceptions aren't valid anymore. I'd say that the new wave of Ford/GM/Chrysler vehicles are up to par with most of the competition, especially for the price.

I personally drive a German car (when I bought 4 doors and 3 pedal configurations didn't exist elsewhere) and will probably buy another when it's time, but not without doign lots of research and spending time in vehicle. If you're thinking Camry, drive a Mazda 6, Fusion, and Malibu. See what works for you, what you like, and your budget.

2 weeks 2 days ago Best places to research

I work for an Auto Supplier and my favorite place for vehicle research is Car and Driver. They're Ann Arbor based, but they also have a great buyers' guide: http://buyersguide.caranddriver.com/

For used cars, depending on your budget etc I can make recommendations, but if you're looking for more kids, don't hate on minivans. They may not be sexy, but they're amazingly practical and if you're like 96% of SUV buyers, a minivan will have all the capability you need.

3 weeks 6 days ago Uhhh. He's Outstanding

4 weeks 2 hours ago This was amazing

Kudos to Heiko for sure. What strikes me is just how cerebral Borges seems. I couldn't have told you that the OSU game and the Iowa game had the same gameplan. I was at the Iowa game. It was awesome [Aside, Borges called them "Ohio State". Alert Brady]

His philosophy reminds me a lot of Greg Maddux, in that he uses one play to set up the next one. Maddux would do this with pitches better than anyone. Sure, we hated seeing Vincent Smith get 0 yards up the middle out of the I, but if we ran the throwback screen every time out of the I it would never have worked (it always worked! at least in part because we occasionally ran him up the middle).

This was an absolutely great interview Heiko. I learned a lot and really like the way that Borges thinks.

4 weeks 3 hours ago You could do 2 games

Or 2 groups w/line changes. If you don't want to see Vince Wilfork playing 7-on-7... I don't know what's wrong with tyou.

I'd imagine it goes like this:

Pick teams the same way, 3 at each position or whatever.

1st drive: NFC Skill O vs. AFC Skill D

2nd drive: NFC Skill D vs. AFC Skill O

3rd drive: NFC Linemen O vs. AFC Linemen D

4th drive: NCF Line D vs. AFC Line O

And rotate. Skill and linemen can play both ways (so there are subs) and it's 7 on 7. Why wouldn't that be amazing!

4 weeks 4 hours ago But seriously

Have a flag game. 7-on-7. With rotating groups. Skill and Linemen. Like you wouldn't watch ultra-competitive linemen playing 7 on 7 flag football? it'd be more entertaining than making them all fake block.

4 weeks 5 hours ago Combine 4.59

http://nflcombineresults.com/playerpage.php?i=4756

Would have been 5th best LB at the 2013 combine. And Urlacher did that at 257lbs, the 4 guys that would have beat him in 2013 are all 230-240lbs. 4.4 may be an embellishment. Freak is not.

4 weeks 6 hours ago He's gotta update that uniform

The Split Ms are a no-go

4 weeks 6 hours ago Defined a dominant defense

The Bears could play their Tampa 2 the way they did because of Urlacher's coverage ability. Sure, he lost a step recently, but that deep MLB drop was something that few, if any, other LBs can do as well.

My best Urlacher memory is from the NFC Title game in 2006. The Saints came into a cold Soldier Field and there was a play where reggie bush lined up in the backfield and split out wide. The announcer just about had a wet dream when Urlacher followed him out there saying "there's a LB on Bush!!! Drew Brees is gonna look that way!"

Brees did. Urlacher had man coverage on Bush and Brees ended up having to throw it away. how many MLBs could have split out to cover 2006 pre-injury reggie bush?

In terms of best athletes at the position, see my note below. He returned kicks in college.

6 weeks 9 hours ago Returning Kicks

Don't get me wrong, I love me some Denard, but I doubt he'll be a primary kick returner to start the year. As far as I remember, Denard participated in 1 KR during college (he was on the field and didn't touch the ball) and the Jags also drafted SC (NTSC)'s Ace Sanders in the 2nd round, who was a punt returner in college, and a pretty good one. I don't doubt that the Jags might put both Ace and Denard back for kicks, but he's not going to be given the job by any means.

1. An explanation (or a guess at one): Many ridiculous things have been said on the internet and elsewhere regarding certain news from this week (See Collins, Jason and reaction from many: see Brando, Tim, 50, white and Christian). This post, especially it's clamoring about the first amendment, is an outrageous thing on the internet. Just because you have a right to your opinion, and the right to say your opinion (the first amendment) doesn't mean that others can't say "your opinion is stupid" (horses can/can't play football) or that your ridiculous assertion can be right. The first amendment gives you the right to free speech, and it gives others the right to ridicule your speech. This is not often widely grasped.

2. Hooray offseason!

3. Since cars can play rugby, horses could definitely play soccer

UFR is one of if not the greatest features of the site. But you've gotta walk before you can run. UFR can be a little technical and can get a little inside-joke heavy at times (in a very good way. As a long time reader of UFR i get it completely, but jumping into UFRs might be difficult if you're less familiar IMO).

7 weeks 6 hours ago NFL Number Rules

Since the Jags are listing Denard as a Running Back his number has to be between #20-49. Were he a WR it could be #10-19, #80-89.

Maybe that's why he wanted to be a WR?

EDIT: Beat to the punch, so here's a link:

• Quarterbacks, punters, and kickers: 1-19
• Running backs: 20-49
• Wide receivers: 10-19 and 80-89
• Tight ends: 10-19 and 80-89 (or 40-49 if those ranges are taken)
• Centers: 50-59 (or 60-79 if that range is taken)
• Offensive linemen: 60-79
• Defensive linemen: 60-79 and 90-99
• Linebackers: 50-59 and 90-99
• Defensive backs: 20-49

7 weeks 6 hours ago Oh where to start

In the top right, just under the HTTV Kickstarter info is a "site search" box. Search for "picture pages", this is where Brian (and others) have taken a play and broken it up into a frame-by-frame analysis. You can also search "4-3" and other tags. Pretty much any football term you can think of, and you can see where it's been discussed earlier on the site.

8 weeks 1 day ago According to the twitters

Michigan averaged 5434 student no-shows. There were over 3,000 no show students for MSU (this years' best home game).

There were 21,770 student tickets sold. That means 25% of the students didn't show up (don't know if that nmeans they didn't show at all or just on time)

But that's some bullshit. Get to the games or don't buy tickets.

8 weeks 1 day ago Damn I hope you're right

I can't even begin to explain how people in Chicago (mostly the media) slobber over ND athletes who may come to Chicago. The Bears finally signed Tom Zbikowski (OMG did you know he's a boxer? The Trib has been practically begging the Bears to sign him for years). Teo is practically Tebow to the local media, whether he can play or not. Everyone is going to be ready to annoint him the next Urlacher, but no one is gonna be that good manning the middle for the Bears for a while. Personally, I hope like hell that we don't draft him. It'd be high expectations, a potential good (not great IMO) LB, an absolute media circus, and just obnoxious.

Which of course means the Bears will draft him. We had Armando Allen take up a roster spot for a couple years.

9 weeks 1 day ago I think it makes sense for the Wings

But I'm a goalie and a Blackhawks fan. As little as I've watched of the Wings, Howard seems like he's the best thing the Wings have going for them. I wouldn't be put off by the 6 years, goalies tend (no pun intended... dammit) to get better with age, as the game is so mentally focused. Look at Belfour, Roy, Brodeur, and Hasek for examples.

With recent Stanley Cup teams, the trend in the NHL is to build from the D/Goalie out. LA won it last year thanks to Quick. When my Hawks won it it was because they had 4 top-2 defensemen (and lots of depth up front). In years 4-5-6 this deal won't be as high a percentage of the Wings' cap (assuming the NHL gets out of its own way, makes money, and the cap goes up) and Howard should be a good goalie for the life of the deal.

9 weeks 1 day ago Heiko's not asking "media" questions

He's asking Football questions. I don't know if they're all Heiko or if Brian's helping, but they're not asking Borges/Mattison to "talk about Jake Ryan's leadership". They're asking about double-A gap blitzes and talking about actual football. The coaches seem to enjoy this, becuase they're ya know, football coaches.

It's kind of like if you're at a party and meeting people and everyone asks "what do you do?" and you do something obscure like me and say "i'm an engineer for an auto supplier". The conversation typically ends there. Car parts and engineering are nerdy and most people don't care. But if someone else is an engineer, or into cars, and asks good follow ups, I can tell that they want to know more and that we can talk the same language.

The coaches know that Heiko speaks "football" and they see that he has the technical knowledge and asks good questions. I think that the blog/readership benefits a ton, because the coaches like talking football.

12 weeks 8 hours ago Well

(I think you're replying to my comment, so I'm going to reply to yours)

I think you can't honor the fab 5 without acknowledging the cultural shift that accompanied them. Basically, I think having a running loop of Jalen's ESPN movie would prove the point.

Whether or not it's the image we want, it happened. It existed, we should acknowledge it in some way, without sweeping anything we don't like under the rug. We can't just honor them (think Tressel at OSU this year). We can't ignore them - they're a major part (good and bad) of Michigan's basketball history.

You're right that copies of the letters probably aren't a good idea, but having text on the wall describing how the "brash student athletes dealt with lots of acceptance issues... " etc. I think is necessary to tell the story.

12 weeks 8 hours ago After seeing the new historical hall at Crisler

I don't think anything needs to be done in the arena/playing area, but I would love to see a display, with the banners, with the positives and negatives from the Fab 5 Era. It could talk about the cultural influence, the racisim, the basketball, the scandal... and it wouldn't be out of place in the historical area of the new Crisler Center.

12 weeks 1 day ago Possibly

It was discussed in the spring roster weight gain/loss threads, but it appears as though the staff has told the LBs to get lighter/faster (because all weight gain/loss is directionally correct). College football features more reliable running games than the NFL (due to recent rule changes etc. the NFL is quite pass happy), but Ray Lewis was documented as having dropped 15-20lbs this year so that the could play better in coverage.

I think for LBs the size/speed balance depends on what they will be asked to do and what is around them. With this team, having a plethora of big, strong DL, it's less likely that the LBs will take on lead blockers every play, and can focus more on getting to the ball as opposed to plugging up holes. In general I think our offense and defense have both gotten more "specialized" and we've seen that Mattison likes sub packages, changing personnel based on situation. We'll see, but I doubt our defense will be "too small/too fast" this year.

12 weeks 1 day ago Re: Lack of stats

I'm an engineer in the auto industry, and the lack of "proper" stats use is pretty staggering. And this is among engineers! Who should know better. When not  among science types the lack of stats knowledge I assume gets even worse. If you give me a data set and the story you want it to tell, I can make the stats do that.

I guess the moral is, good stats are hard to find. Not just among jounalists.

I think Robinson would have some of the same limitations as Kovacs, for different reasons. Kovacs had a great mind for the game, but despite his impressive pro-day measurables he could be an athletic liability (see SC bowl game). Marvin on the other hand is a great natural athlete, but no way he has the football instincts of Kovacs. I like both of them nearer the line rather that in deep coverage.

13 weeks 1 day ago See, here's the thing

It's already a bidding war. Have you followed recruiting at all? Right now U of M can offer a scholarship, a chance at a great degree, and kick-ass faciliites. Michigan will even give you 4 full years of scholarship, while other schools can offer you only 1 year. The only thing missing is straight cash. See, since Michigan makes more money, they can offer more, better facilities, tutors, training table food, etc. It's already a totally unfair bidding war based on money!

13 weeks 1 day ago There's gotta be a new division

1A is going to split into the BCS conferences and the rest. Then the top tier (64 or so) schools can have their own set of rules without the Indiana States getting in the way.

That's what I think the conference expansion end game will be. 64 football teams, providing their own de-facto playoff with 4 conference champ games, semis, and a final.

13 weeks 1 day ago The system is falling apart

Forgo the "honorable" talk of "amaturism" and what you have is a professional sports league that has imposed a salary cap. In Football that salary cap is 85 scholarships. The cap never changes. The NCAA has had absolutely zero "representation" for its players (unlike other major sports leagues) and thus, there is no CBA or anything similar. The NCAA makes the rules, just like the pro leagues used to before the players could strike. As Brian points out in the numbers, the football (and to a lesser extent bball) money doesn't just pay for every other athlete's scholarship, it's increasingly paying for more and more salaries of people in the AD. All that new TV money has to go somewhere, why shouldn't some of it go to the players? Put it in a trust, make it the olympic model, do something with it so that the product gets paid more than just a scholarship.

For anyone claiming it's not fair, it's already not fair. OF COURSE EMU won't compete with Michigan when money is involved. Money is already involved! The best athletes already go to the best programs! Stipends or booster cash isn't going to change that.

13 weeks 1 day ago Exactly

The divisions as they were saw us play our division, plus OSU and someone. So we played OSU every year, while nebraska could play someone else, and MSU got to play Indiana. This will make the division schedules more balanced at least

13 weeks 1 day ago Buy-in to the new TV deal

Nebraska had to "buy in" to the TV deal, as they didn't get a full 1/12th share for at least the first couple of years. My guess is Maryland needed an advance on their new earnings, so they may pay this back by taking a smaller % of the next TV deal, or something similar.

13 weeks 1 day ago Not Unanimous

I think he could still be a "consensus" All American, but he won't be Unanimous. Then again, there are tons of AA teams, I don't know who all the official ones are, and what percentage you need to be "consensus"

13 weeks 2 days ago One thing I'm interested to see

What's our "best 11" for various plays? Mattison sure isn't shy about substituting various packages out there, and it wouldn't surprise me to have a few different personnell groups on the DL.

It wouldn't surprise me to have a DL of Mario/Black/Clark/Ryan on passing downs in the nickel/dime group, or even something like Clark/Pipkins/Washington/Wormley against spread teams in running situations.

13 weeks 2 days ago It was all bad weight that he lost

15 weeks 3 days ago That's why he stickhandles like that

He can shoot at any time. I've stopped penalty shots with pokechecks, I've also never faced Kane.

15 weeks 3 days ago Kane's hands

What's crazy about watching Kane are his hands. This year especailly now that he's matured some (I mean, give any 18 year old millions see what happens. Kane turns 24-25 this year, which, yeah) he's been a joy to watch. When you see a professional athlete like Kane you just KNOW that he has unreal talent on some level. He's about 5'10" 170#. That's not pro athlete size, strength, anything. In order to make up for what he cant do, he is unbeleiveably talented at what he can do. Watch him when the puck is on his stick, it's amazing.

Another example: Charles Barkley or Dennis Rodman. Neither of them physically should have been dominant PFs, but they both were SO good at something, they were.

15 weeks 3 days ago Correct

Just like Penalty Shot rules. And howard  could have challenged more, but once Kane slows down like that, the only way Howard wins is if his reaction time is ridiculous once Kane starts shooting - or to force the action with a pokecheck. But with Kane's handle, a pokecheck is more likely to make the goalie look bad than Kane

15 weeks 3 days ago Playoffs

At least they play 5-on-5 for the playoffs. Seeding probably means the least in hockey out of any of the major sports

15 weeks 3 days ago Yeah, 3 points for every game

It'd provide less impetus to play for the tie when tied late. Teams would try to win in regulation.

To the GIF: Yes. He's had a few of those where he slows way down and just dangles and scores. As a goalie, I mean, people used to try that shit in practice and I hated it. The fact that someone can do it when it counts? Yeah....

15 weeks 3 days ago It's for TV

Yes, it's a skills contest that has very little to do with hockey, but it pacifies the TV networks. Hockey needed to get back on TV and had to give the networks something, and what they did was guarantee game length. You've got a max of 65 minutes then shootout. Boom, game over.

In the playoffs, they still play hockey (5 on 5) and decide it. I actually think that hockey has done a decent job with this balance. However I think that they should make regulation wins worth 3 points, as an incentive to try to win outright.

As a goalie, this is dumb and totally unfair. It's not a hockey play. As a Hawks fan, damn Kaner

15 weeks 5 days ago Are they though?

As far as I'm concerned, flyovers are a 2-birds-1-stone solution. Pilots need to fly to train, we don't want to be sending pilots out who have no air time. Sometimes they may fly long missions heading towards a large target, need to make a low altitude pass at said target, and then head back to base (say a bombing run).

Why not make that bombing run practice coinside with a sporting event? I mean, they need to practice, and a big stadium is as good a practice target as any, may as well do it with people inside.

The Air Force (or Navy, I dont remember) actually made their flyover request form public because they had to fly practice runs, and they might as well give the fans a show while they practice. EDSBS actually requested a flyover to his kids' birthday (didn't happen).

Do you think that the pilot practice runs are a waste of money? Or just that they coordinate them with sporting events? Because I could do that for free with a google calander.

That rink sucked too. At LFA the cinder blocks didn't go all the way up, we used to get 2 locker rooms for practice and throw tape balls back and forth over them.

16 weeks 6 days ago Only a couple times

Didn't have to go to Aurora often, and can't say I remember the rink but there was bad ice all around back in the day. I remember when the Darien rink didn't have glass but had chain link fence, and I rememember being able to see the concrete distinctly through the ice at the Lake Forest Academy rink before that got re done. I'm only 25 and don't have a lawn.

It's the little things that make this column great

16 weeks 6 days ago Ahhhh....

I get the sentiment, but untied skates = broken ankles. As someone who has taught learn to skate classes.... gahhhhhh

16 weeks 6 days ago I disagree with your thinking

My guess is his move made the team better for the bowl game. Denard had to get RB reps, and Norfleet is a freshman who is lower on the depth chart anyway. We were down CBs because a couple of guys got kicked off the team.... So yeah. He could really be that good at offense. The team just had an extra body at RB that needed a lot of work and they also needed bodies at CB. A temp switch makes a ton of sense.

was absolutely great. However he hasn't taken one back in 2 years, and is a drain on the WR spot. He's been totally overpaid for a while too. Consensus here is that he needs a fresh start. Whether that's with the new coaching staff here in Chicago or elsewhere is TBD.

17 weeks 7 hours ago FAQs

http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/mgoboard-faq

I guess this files in both "Michigan" and "Pro Sports", but as a general rule well titled threads don't need modifying

What's the offtopic policy?

In the offseason, offtopic posts are tolerated. During football season they are discouraged and may be subject to removal depending on how alert the moderators are. What counts as on- and off- topic?

ONTOPIC

  • Anything Michigan sports related
  • Anything related to other Big Ten teams or upcoming opponents
  • Stuff about the blog itself
  • University of Michigan topics that don't relate to sports

GRAY AREA

  • College sports in general
  • Ann Arbor

UNWELCOME, KTHX

  • Politics
  • Drew Sharp, Ace Williams, Mike Valenti. Saying stupid and/or false things about Michigan in order to get Michigan fans upset is a tried and true way to phish for clicks. Let's not feed the trolls.

OFFTOPIC

  • Pro sports of any variety
  • Everything else

We will let pro sports topics slide even during football season but "everything else" posts are likely to get the axe.

17 weeks 1 day ago I say hockey is borderline

At some schools it makes money. at others it doesn't. It's far from a cash cow and supporting hockey =/= all about the bottom line

17 weeks 1 day ago I disagree

Adding a new conference sport (hockey) that is borderline revenue/not disagrees. Also one of the main selling points of BTN was the added coverage for non-revenue sports. Wrestling, WBB, gymnastics, etc. have all been on BTN the last few days.

Billions in research dollars. Very timely diary by MosherJordan

http://mgoblog.com/diaries/b1g-expansion-dollars-research-edition

17 weeks 1 day ago Very interesting analysis

And that does make a lot of sense. When it came out that the B1G said "no" to a school I thought for sure it was Louisville. Sure, better athletic program, but terrible academics. This diary goes about the cash adn motivation for why the B1G is only interested in premier academic members.

Your pictures aren't loading for me though, did you upload them to the internet and then link them here?

17 weeks 1 day ago Is there anything more

Is there anything more "Northwestern" than having Kale in your student section though?

BTW, went to the game at NU. The student section is about 30 bleacher seats under each basket.

FIRST AMMENDMENT RIGHTS VIOLATION. ON A PRIVATELY OWNED BLOG NONE THE LESS.

/S... hopefully ridiculously obviously

17 weeks 6 days ago Eliminate variation

Basketball has a similar rule with the ability to catch-and-shoot at the end of a game. IIRC you need at least 0.4 seconds to catch-and-shoot rather than just tip the ball towards the hoop. This takes quick/slow triggers on the timekeepers out of the game in a better way.

17 weeks 6 days ago Glad we're keeping the ZR

It's an effective play even if your QB isn't that good a runner, but in addition to that QBs are getting more and more athletic, just look at the NFL. Didn't Kork Coupons run a very successful ZR against us a few years ago? When it's a base play, it makes the opponent play "assignment defense", when it's a weapon in the back of the quiver, it can really surprise/confuse opponents. Again, look at the NFL.

Glad we're keeping that weapon around. Swiss Army Knife Offense FTW

17 weeks 6 days ago Day After

As with many things, the day after the holiday is the jackpot. If you don't buy candy on November 1st or February 15th, you're an idiot (not necessarily for the holidy, but to have. because candy). Same with flowers on 2/14 and christmas lights on 12/26.

My girlfriend and I are long distance, so today I don't have a ton going on. But she's coming to town tomorrow which means I'll be picking up some flowers and chocolates at 1/3rd price and go from there

17 weeks 6 days ago I'm going to that game on the 24th

I'm not a stud recruit though. Nor have I ever played football. Does Red need a 25 year old goalie?
